Description

Photograph a great ball of barbed wire

In recent years I have seen a few of these objects appearing as works of art.

I spotted this one at the weekend on a Geocaching jaunt around Moe, which gave me the concept for this Locationless

It is not necessary to have yourself or GPS in the photo.

Glebe Gardens, Henry St, Launceton

Wandering through these beautiful gardens, we spotted this ball of wire. Perfect example for this locationless.

Logging for the Cacheopoly Game.

We visited this very talented artist, who makes sculptures from scrap metal. We wandered around his property admiring his work and taking photos. Gilgai NSW.

I drove past this paddock two days ago and thinking it may have had an animal sculptured in wire as I was passing I stopped. No animals but these balls of wire. Very Happy

This striking sculpture, created by Richard Moffat as part of the Artist in Residence program in 2007 Blackall Heartland Festival, using the theme 'Ice on Water'. It was created from the abundance of old fencing wire found in paddocks that once held sheep. It is located on the Northern edge of Blackall QLD on the Landsborough Highway either as you leave Blackall on your way to Barcaldine or coming into Blackall from the North. TFTL. Clan Minotaur

Whilst in Waratah this morning we noticed a garden featuring a wind chime. The windchime was fixed to a teepee of three sticks in at the top was a sphere of barbed wire. Most unexpected to find this in the mining community. two photos have been aded to the Gallery: Mrs y'stassie standing in front of the windchime; a closer view of the sphere of barbed wire. thanks Cybergran V for the cache.

We recently attended the Aramac Garden Expo and were fortunate to be in attendance when the talented wire artist Milyanda Rogers was demonstrating her barbed wire sculptures. Milynda has created over 32 sculptures from Aarmac, Jericho and along Lake Dunn. In this demonstration she was creating a pear out out barbed wire. The completed pear was then put up for auction and the proceeds donated to local charity. TFTC Clan MinotaurClan Minotaur

Walcha NSW
Some of our best locationless searches have been when we've stopped to take a break. Having a coffee before a ride around Walcha when, hey presto, a locationless just metres away. Two barb balls make a barb man...... Quite a large man, the top part of his hat is an old copper boiler. Shocked

These coordinates are in the vicinity, not at the actual spot, as it was near the end of a mystery GC cache.
We had a lot of fun finding puzzle caches in the area, after attending a nearby GC workshop event.
It was very late in the afternoon, when this was taken, so it’s not a good shot of my great ball of wire.
I certainly would not have liked the job of rolling this one up.
