TriZalforce Dino #3 - Ankylosaurus

TriZalforce Dino #3

Ankylosaurus

The Spring Racing season is here! No not the GCA Avondale Stakes, Dino-Racing! I adopted 3 mini-saurii from GCA to release into the wild for the fun and festivities.

Wiki: Ankylosaurus is a genus of armored dinosaur. Its fossils have been found in geological formations dating to the very end of the Cretaceous Period, about 68–66 million years ago, in western North America, making it among the last of the non-avian dinosaurs. The genus name means "fused lizard". A handful of specimens have been excavated to date, but a complete skeleton has not been discovered. Though other members of Ankylosauria are represented by more extensive fossil material, Ankylosaurus is often considered the archetypal member of its group, despite having some unusual features. Possibly the largest-known ankylosauridAnkylosaurus is estimated to have been between 6 and 8 metres long and to have weighed between 4.8 and 8 tonnes.

A quick find while out hiding some more caches in the region of the Your Yangs. I hope to get this little guy out in the not too distant future.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks for placing this geocache here for us to find today, for without those who like to hide geocaches, there would be nothing around for those who like to find geocaches.

Two mini dinosaurs liked the idea of an early morning walk. Attracted to the bush and its space they were last seen diving into a pile of forest litter in the fork of a tree. Here they wait for the next caching team.

Ready to move on.

We attended a CITO this morning in Penguin and as a bonus we were able to pick up some moveable caches that we hadn't seen before. Always good to meet new moveables and help them on their journey. We'll get them back out again as soon as possible. Thank you for the cache

I discovered this moveable cache at the GCA event in Rutherglen on the 7/4/23. Another Geocacher has taken it from GZ and will move it along shortly.

The Rutherglen Mega – Easter 2023
Big Grin This was another a-MAZE-ing Mega, hosted by Geocaching Victoria. Thanks so much, for bringing me here and for the enjoyment it has brought me over the weekend. Big Grin
Day #1 [6/4] – After a massive day of work, I headed off to my overnight stop in Culcairn. Along the way, I stopped off at an AL waypoint, in Henty. My only find of the day. Now time for some sleep and get ready for arriving at the Mega tomorrow. Big Grin
Day #2 [7/4] – Its Mega day! I started off the day by finding a cache across the road of my motel in Culcairn, before getting breakfast. After breakfast I headed out of town and I arrived at the Rutherglen showgrounds at 9am. I was pleased to check in and sign the attendance book. I caught up with many people and I also found the lab caches. During the gaps of the Mega fun and during the non-raining times, I headed out to find as many caches as I could. I found the letterbox caches, attended the 3 events [2 GC and 1 GA] and found a couple of caches around the area. While at the GA event many moveable caches were discovered and signed. After the dinner event at the end of the day, I went did some bush bashing in the dark of the night to find a 2006 cache. I made sure I found it, as it fulfils part of a self-imposed challenge. Now, time to head to the motel and head to bed, so I’m ready for my last day tomorrow.
Day #3 [8/4] – My final day. Sad Anyway, I still have much planned which included finding the bike trail caches, finishing the Solar System series and finding a couple of multi-caches. Also, on the way home, I decided on avenging a DNF. Big Grin But before that, I started the day with breakfast at Macca’s. Next I found a couple more labs, some of which I missed yesterday. After a phone call, my bike riding buddy (Joelisa) was running late. This meant I could find the rest of the Solar System Series and a couple of others. I arrived at the starting point of the bike trail and was greeted by Ms Maddy who was getting ready for the bike ride. While we were getting ready If and Joelisa arrived and we decided on heading off and doing it together. The caches along the bike trail were signed as **8/4/23 JIMM**. The group consisted of Joelisa [J], If [I], Ms Maddy [M] and Myself - JohnoMawbs [M for Mawbs]. We did most of the trail along the way to Wahgunyah, found a couple of other caches, had lunch and for the return trip, found the five we missed for the return trip to Rutherglen. Then we went our separate ways. I headed off to meet up with The Drovers before leaving. I found two caches along the way home. The second of the two, I avenged a DNF. Big Grin Now time to get home as I have a very busy day tomorrow.
I will need to return at some point, so I can complete the ‘bird’ mystery cache power trail at some point. Also all the new multi-caches which have just been published. So, these caches have been put on my, to do list. In other words, I’LL BE BACK. Big Grin
TB visit on all found caches. I would like to thank all CO’s of the caches I found this weekend and for allowing them to bring me and the Geocaching community enjoyment. Big Grin TFTE’s and TFTC’s Big Grin

I was logging a dinosaur cache that I grabbed from Fitzy_65 and noticed a whole lot of dinosaur moveables in a new game Spring Caching Carnival and there was a moveable just 1km from my home. It was 9.20pm and I was about to crash for the night so decided to get put my trackies on over my pj's and take Koda the geohound for a quick walk to retrieve. The batteries had died on my Montana so had to rely on a snapshot of the location on my phone to get me as close to location and then use my torch to search. I got to 2m away shone the torn around and spotted something unusual, quite large and thought it must be a big one. To my surprise it was a tub full of moveables, so I was quite happy to grab and find them all a new home. tftc Zalgariath

#GA3127 - 12:45; It was a nice day, so I thought a walk in the park to herd a few dinosaurs was in order, having missed out on seeing them at Sunday's event. Parked in the quiet street not far from GZ and headed over to collect the first on the list. There was a junior muggle and her dad feeding ducks right at GZ for the second dino on the list, so I continued on to have a crack at this one. Arrived close to GZ, which would make a great area for a CITO and had a look around. Came up empty handed, but rechecked the first spot I'd looked and spotted the little blighter had been hiding thereall the time. Now on its way again. TFTC Zalgariath Very HappyClan Cerberus

As for the cache, no problems, but thanks for the hint which certainly saved some time.

Off to Canberra in the not too distance furture for this one. Thanks again Zal. Very HappyVery Happy
