Description
Placed close to the Intake Bridge.
Cache is placed close to the Intake Bridge, named because an old water race can be found close to the bridge on the downstream side. Looking under the bridge you can see two old riveted pipes which show the start of the race.
Tracing the alignment downstream you may be able to see the old water race running parallel to the river.

This one took a little while to locate as the GPSr was jumping around a great deal due to the tree cover. We used the hint and located the correct area and then had to search a bit to find the cache.
Thanks Hilberts.

Another family were here having lunch but thankfully GZ was out of sight. After a lengthy search, however, all we came across was a zip lock bag and a container lid, hmm? There was a lot of evidence of camping at this spot so we assumed the cache had been compromised. Apologies if we're wrong but we are certain, so decided to remove the old lid and zip lock bag and replace the container and logbook. TFTC!

I wondered about taking my car down this road after all the rain but it wasn't a problem. We crossed the bridge and parked near GZ. It didn't take long to find the cache at all. It was hard to open but perfectly fine inside.
The water was pounding today and we marvelled at its power.
Thanks for bringing us here Hilberts

Before making our way to the falls we made a little detour to look for this cache. We had not explored this area before so were unsure of parking and turning space. We need not have been concerned as we found a spacious parking spot just over the bridge. We headed back to the bridge to check the intake pipes before starting our search for the cache. After removing several take away containers we spotted a container that said cache not take away.
On opening the container we found a blank log sheet, a surprise as the cache had been published 2 months ago. A nice {FTF} at 13:10. The container and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for this cache Hilberts. We enjoyed exploring this area and wondered about the history of the water intake pipes. It certainly is a lovely peaceful spot by the river.
