Description
Settling Pond - Avenue of Honour Circuit
A small pond (which may be home to many mosquitos, so watch out) will bring you to the location of this small geocache. A small geocache (400ml) waits for you at this location.
Meander along the Lerderderg River, swing left at the pumping station, and walk alongside the market gardens to meet the renowned Bacchus Marsh Avenue of Honour. Enjoy the beautiful elm trees on your return to the picnic ground. The total length of this circuit is 2.9km and there is adequate on-site parking for your stroll. All up your walk should take around 2 hours finding the many geocaches as you walk.

Today we're making our way from Ballarat to Geelong, caching and adventure labbing as we go. We've been wanting to have a go at this circuit ever since it was published and today's the day, finally. We found ten of the twelve with coordinates spot on and useful hints. We'll have to come back some time in the future to try the other two again. TFTC
It was an absolute pleasure to find the caches around Moon reserve.
The containers were clean, full of swag for swaps and the co ordinates accurate. It was so enjoyable walking and finding them. It felt like the good old days of caching -when I first joined.
I will definitely do more GCA caches in the future.
Too cold for them today. That's good.
Thanks caughtatwork for re-introducing me to 'proper' caching.

This evening was not the pleasantest time to visit this area as the light breeze made sure we knew what was over the fence. The settling pond was quite picturesque but the smell was noxious. As Mrs Y'stassie removed the cache a large cache guardian appeared out of the covering material. A quick flick and it landed safely in he leaf litter below.
Thanks for another good cache caughtatwork. It was starting to cool down so we thought we'd have to stop soon.
