Description
Like the book caches, photographs of records are required to have some form of identification on the record cover and it would be good if there is some background around the record cover indicating that you have taken the photo of the LP, not lifted it off the internet. Apologies but no one has to do this series of caches if they don't like the requirements. Thanks.
Today I am looking for an album whose title begins with "P". To log this cache please include the name of the album in your log and ensure your identification is clearly visible on the photo.

In line with amendments made to requirements for listing and finding a Locationess geocache, this geocache has been reviewed and found not be in line with the listing requirements.
Locationless Cache Wiki Information
Armchair style Locationless caches where the finder is not required to explore the real world, identify a location and accompany the 'Find' with photographic evidence are no longer accepted.
A Locationless cache listing must require the finder to locate an object or perform a task in the real world, collect the co-ordinates and log the find with accompanying photographic evidence.
The geocaching community would like to thank you for listing this Locationess geocache and congratulations to all that found this locationless geocache.
As the geocache no longer meets the requirements we will archive the cache listing.

"Passion and Warfare" - Steve Vai. An interesting album that does appear to be rather indulgent on little Stevie Vai's part. Vai was in Sydney signing stuff many years ago, and he signed this album and also a copy of "Flex-Able". He seemed impressed and commented that not many others had a copy. It was his much older first album and I guess most people where buying P&W and getting it signed then and there. Flex-Able has a variety of really cool songs on it.
THE CUT & PASTEY BIT: I’m not sure how long some of these locationless GCA caches will be around for, but there’s only a finite number now that Covid is hopefully mostly past. In any case I was enthused today to check out my old records, and I hope you like the photos! I know I will enjoy checking out the galleries after to see what other people have added. Cheers all!

I posted a picture for the other locationless about concerts. This is the Pretenders debut album. So much energy in this record.
P = Peter Paul and Mommy. Thank you for the challenge.

It doesn't get much better for us than to listen to Billy Joel's "Piano Man" album.
We do have quite a few LPs in our collection by this musician.
His shows are always great to attend as well.
Thanks to SmittenGranny for this LP series.

Finally I have my hand on my record collection.

When the record player was in swing this got a good workout.
Place Without A Postcard, Quinella Holiday, Lucky Country the list goes on.
Lucky to have scene them perform a few years ago.
Good memories

Party Singalong with Mitch Miller.
The majority of albums in my late mother’s collection were Mitch Miller.
She loved all the old time favourites, and, even until she passed away recently at 102, she would still sing those songs.
Thanks for the opportunity to relive the memories Smittengranny

The only album we have starting with P is
Patrick sings
Patrick O'hagan sings popular requests.
It's never been played and probably never will be.
Think this one arrived here in a group of records that came from Mrs Beetles mothers place when she had to move in to a nursing home.
Only two songs I've ever heard of on it,
Mary's Boy Child and When You and I Were Young Maggie.
Thanks.

Purple Rain is the sixth studio album by American recording artist Prince, released on June 25, 1984 by Warner Bros. Records. It is the first to feature the billing of his band the Revolution, and is the soundtrack to the 1984 film of the same name. Purple Rain was musically denser than Prince's previous albums, emphasizing full band performances, and multiple layers of guitars, keyboards, electronic synthesizer effects, drum machines, and other instruments.
As a soundtrack record, much of the album had a grandiose, synthesized, and psychedelic sheen to the production and performances. The music on Purple Rain is generally regarded as the most pop-oriented of Prince's career, though a number of elements point towards the more experimental records Prince would release after Purple Rain. The music video for the album's lead single "When Doves Cry" sparked controversy among network executives, who thought that its sexual nature was too explicit for television. The risqué lyrics of "Darling Nikki" contributed to the use of Parental Advisory stickers and imprints on album covers that were the record label's answer to complaints from Tipper Gore and the Parents Music Resource Center.
Purple Rain became Prince's first album to reach number one on the Billboard 200. The album spent 24 consecutive weeks atop on the Billboard 200 and was present on the chart for a total of 122 weeks. "When Doves Cry" and "Let's Go Crazy" reached number one the Billboard Hot 100, while "Purple Rain" peaked at number two and "I Would Die 4 U" peaked at number eight. In May 1996, the album was certified 13x Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Its total sales stand at 25 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling albums of all time. Prince and the Revolution won Grammy Awards for Best Rock Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal and Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media, while Prince also won the Academy Award for Best Original Song Score for the film Purple Rain.
In addition to Purple Rain's breakthrough sales, music critics noted the innovative and experimental aspects of the soundtrack's music, most famously on the spare, bass-less "When Doves Cry". Other aspects of the music, especially its synthesis of electronic elements with organic instrumentation and full-band performances along with its consolidation of rock and R&B, were identified by critics as distinguishing, even experimental factors. Purple Rain is regularly ranked among the greatest albums of all time. It was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame and added to the Library of Congress' National Recording Registry list of sound recordings that "are culturally, historically, or aesthetically important".
