We all have our favourite movies. Tell us what your favourite movie beginning with is !

If you have a copy of the movie a picture would be great !

One of mine would have to be 'Lawrence of Arabia' - the 1962 film about TE Lawrence and his involvement in the Allied Efforts in the Middle East during WWI. Starring Peter O'Toole, its mainly a good movie - the only thing disappointing is there is no mention of Australia's considerable contribution by (mainly) the Australian Light Horse, including the capture and surrender of Damascus. I visited TE Lawrence's grave in 1992 while travelling around the UK (see picture).

'Look Both Ways' was a creative movie. I liked how writer and director Sarah Watt incorporated her art into it. The craziest thing is the movie is about someone coming to grips with finding out they have cancer and what comes next, and Sarah herself was diagnosed with cancer just after filming the movie. Sadly, the cancer beat her 6 years later. My Year Without Sex was another of her brilliant movies, made whilst battling the cancer (came in second place for fave M movie). I was looking forward to seeing more of her creative works.

L – Lawrence of Arabia
This 1962 film is a Mrs y’stassie pick for its fabulous male cast and its historical base. Based on the life of TE Lawrence it starred Peter O’Toole and Alec Guinness. Omar Sharif, Anthony Quinn, Jack Hawkins and Anthony Quayle were also part of the cast. Thanks for this L cache in this series fitzy_1965.

I Remember this from my childhood as a motorcycle rider (Racer) from a young age this was a good movie at the time however it's a bit corney now

Little Fauss and Big Halsy

Little Fauss and Big Halsy is a 1970 American comedy-drama film directed by Sidney J. Furie, starring Robert Redford and Michael J. Pollard, also featuring Lauren Hutton, Noah Beery, Jr. and Lucille Benson.

A comedy-drama featuring the exploits of two motorcycle riders, this is one of Redford's lesser known works. Johnny Cash contributed the title song and soundtrack along with Carl Perkins and Bob Dylan. The title song, "The Ballad of Little Fauss and Big Halsy", written by Perkins, was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song.

The movie is the story of two motorcycle racers, the inept, unsuspecting Little Fauss (Pollard) and the opportunistic, womanizing Halsy Knox (Redford). Hutton played the role of Rita Nebraska, a role originally offered to Grace Slick.

Plot
Halsy Knox, a professional motorcycle racer, runs into Little Fauss, an amateur racer, after a race held near Phoenix, Arizona. They strike up a friendship as Fauss is attracted to Halsy's carefree lifestyle. Fauss's father, however, regards Halsy as a bad influence on his son and refuses to help Halsy when his truck breaks down. When Halsy arrives later at the motorcycle repair shop where Fauss is employed, he tricks the admiring Fauss into repairing his motorcycle for free. When Fauss breaks his leg, Halsy, who has been barred from racing for drinking on the track, proposes that they form a partnership in which Halsy would race under Fauss's name with Fauss serving as the mechanic. Fauss joins Halsy on the motorcycle racing circuit despite his parents' disapproval. Fauss is constantly confronted with his inferiority to Halsy, both on and off the racetrack. Their partnership is finally broken when Rita Nebraska, a drop-out from a wealthy background, arrives at the racetrack and immediately attaches herself to Halsy, despite the attention Fauss pays her. Fauss returns home to his parents to find his father has died. Several months later, Halsy visits him and attempts to ditch Rita, who is now pregnant. Fauss, however, refuses to take her. He informs Halsy that he plans to reenter the racing circuit. The two men race against each other a short time later at the Sears Point International Raceway. Halsy's motorcycle breaks down. As he leaves the track, he hears the announcement that Fauss has taken the lead.

In addition to the above Plot summary, at the Sears Point meeting Fauss tells Halsy that he has been drafted. The difference between these two characters is further defined.

Cast
Robert Redford - Halsy Knox
Michael J. Pollard - Little Fauss
Lauren Hutton - Rita Nebraska
Noah Beery, Jr. - Seally Fauss (billed as Noah Beery)
Lucille Benson - Mom Fauss
Ray Ballard - Photographer
Linda Gaye Scott - Moneth
Erin O'Reilly - Sylvene McFall

Live and Let Die
This was the first Bond movie starring Roger Moore. I don't know how many times I've seen the Bond movies but I enjoy them all. And I can't not mention Legally Blonde. When it was first released on DVD and our daughter said we'd be watching it, I was expecting 2 out 10 for entertainment. I was surprised, I loved it. I've since seen a local theatre production of it which was even better. Bend and snap ladies, bend and snap.... Wink TFTL fitzy_1965

I thought Life of Pi (2012) was an interesting movie. Had good reviews but I didn't think the praise was warranted

Léon
(Luc Besson, 1994)
Besson's contribution to the momentarily fashionable lone-assassin genre (Nikita was remade the same year) was a showcase for droopy-eyed Jean Reno: he's a "cleaner" who takes a paternal, interest in his kid neighbour after her family is wiped out. Everything is constructed on cartoonish lines - including Natalie Portman's ultra-dubious mugging and Gary Oldman's pill-popping villain. It's still a lot of fun though. :

Life of Brian definitely is one of my favourite movies.
It seems to strike a chord with people of all ages.

La La Land (2016)

Honestly I don't have a distinct favourite for the letter 'L', there wasn't a movie I could think of which I loved. La La Land was a movie which while I thought wasn't the most amazing movie, had some huge strengths. The songs City of Stars as well as Mia and Sebastian's Theme are some of my favourite pieces of music from any film. I also love the ending of this movie - heartbreaking, but appropriate. I also just love the nostalgia of this movie being the subject of one of the funniest blunders in history - the wrong movie being read out for Best Picture at the Oscars!

TFTLC Very Happy My all time favourite movie is: LION KING ExclamationExclamationExclamation

Lion King:
This Disney animated feature follows the adventures of the young lion Simba (Jonathan Taylor Thomas), the heir of his father, Mufasa (James Earl Jones). Simba's wicked uncle, Scar (Jeremy Irons), plots to usurp Mufasa's throne by luring father and son into a stampede of wildebeests. But Simba escapes, and only Mufasa is killed. Simba returns as an adult (Matthew Broderick) to take back his homeland from Scar with the help of his friends Timon (Nathan Lane) and Pumbaa (Ernie Sabella).

Our fav movie for l Would have to be the Lethal Weapon series of movies
