We all have our favourite movies. Tell us what your favourite movie beginning with is !

If you have a copy of the movie a picture would be great !

One of mine would have to be 'Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory'. 1971 - Gene Wilder and the Oompa-Loompas. Wonderful Songs. Well deserved ends to nasty children. Great ending for a good child. I have been watching this movie since the 70's... My DVD version has the commentery from the 5 actors/actresses who played the children - the first time they had been together since the movie was made.

W = Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

Bob Hoskins was brilliant in this, playing opposite a cast of animated characters. It was something of a ground breaking film in terms of the way in which live and animated characters interacted.

Thanks fitzy_1965.

Wolverine is one of my favourite movies starting with 'W' - Hugh Jackman plays this part well.

W – War Horse

Found it hard to find a really favourite W film. Horror movies like Wolf Creek are not our genre. Then there were several versions of Wuthering Heights. These were too black. In the end we were left with two animal based films, Watership Down and War Horse. War Horse won by a short half head. Thanks for this cache fitzy_1965 and the memories of our film going exploits over many years.

I never quite got around to finishing my list of fave movies and I wont, but this one I wanted to share.

Watch The Sunset

The plot is not so interesting, but the way it was made...

ONE LONG CAMERA SHOT!!!

Seriously! I even got in contact with the writer director Tristan Barr to congratulate him on it. They filmed the same thing in one shot over 7 days. Day 4 was the winning shot. It was well choreographed. Just brilliant how they could tell a story and have great framing throughout all without the magic of editing and moving cameras and lighting around to make it look good.

Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.
A favourite movie for kids of all ages.
Taught youngsters the price of greed and that opportunity can strike anywhere, anytime.
Great movie.
Thanks for this Locationless fitzy_1965 I needed it for a challenge.

So much choice. I'll go with West Side Story and the original Willy Wonka Laughing

Wages of Fear (1953) - "In a decrepit South American village, four men are hired to transport an urgent nitroglycerine shipment without the equipment that would make it safe." Starring Yves Montand, Charles Vanel and Peter van Eyck. In stark black and white, I hve only seen this without English sub-titles, and it is perfectly watchable in terms of following the storyline. The cigarette paper scene will just blow you away, and the road covered in oil by a broken pipeline is really memorable. A must to see.

And following extremely closely, Westworld (1973). A robot malfunction creates havoc and terror for unsuspecting vacationers at a futuristic, adult-themed amusement park. Starring Yul Brynner, Richard Benjamin & James Brolin. Also a must. You don't wanna meet the gunslinger Brynner on the street. Unfortunately, some do!

Whiplash (2014)

Another Damien Chazelle film in this list alongside 'La La Land', though this one I loved even more. This is a very unique film with lots of great acting and a really interesting story at the heart of it; and again with Chazelle, amazing music. It's about a young man aspiring to become one of the greatest jazz drummers but with a teacher who while hilarious at times, is hilarious for the totally wrong reasons. J. K. Simmons, who plays the teacher, is incredible here - it's his role as J. Jonah Jameson in the Spiderman trilogy but 100x more angry, but at times, also with 100x more heartfelt.

Wild Hogs

Another in my collection and a regular watch, just a fun movie

Wild Hogs is a 2007 American biker road comedy film directed by Walt Becker and starring Tim Allen, John Travolta, Martin Lawrence and William H. Macy. It was released nationwide in the United States and Canada on March 2, 2007.

Plot
Doug Madsen (Tim Allen), Woody Stevens (John Travolta), Bobby Davis (Martin Lawrence) and Dudley Frank (William H. Macy) are four middle-aged everymen living in a Cincinnati suburb who find themselves disillusioned with the quality of everyday life and lack of adventure. Doug is a dentist who has trouble bonding with his son Billy (Dominic Janes); Dudley is a single computer programmer who is afraid to talk to women; Bobby is a henpecked plumber whose wife has made him return to work after having taken a year off to unsuccessfully write a book; and Woody is a wealthy lawyer married to a supermodel. They find escape from their daily routines on weekends by riding motorcycles together posing as a biker gang called the "Wild Hogs".

One day, Woody finds out his wife is divorcing him thus rendering him bankrupt. He convinces his friends to go on a road trip on their bikes to California. After encountering several misadventures, they end up at a local bar, where they meet a rowdy, much larger biker gang called the Del Fuegos, headed by Jack Blade (Ray Liotta). Jack calls the Wild Hogs "posers" and has his gang steal Dudley's bike after a bogus deal to exchange Dudley's bike for a new bike that is in fact used and derelict, forcing the men to leave with Dudley in a sidecar attached to Woody's bike.

Furious at their bullying of Dudley, Woody returns to the Del Fuegos bar and retrieves Dudley's bike, cuts off their bikes' fuel lines in the process and fabricates a story to the other Wild Hogs of how he "negotiated" with them to return the bike. When the Del Fuegos hear the Wild Hogs riding back past the bar, they attempt to pursue them, only for the bikes to stall. Jack inadvertently drops his lit cigarette onto the ground, igniting the fuel leaking from the bikes which then causes the bar to explode. Woody, after witnessing the explosion from afar, convinces the others to keep riding. Eventually, the Wild Hogs run out of gas and end up stranded in the desert. They eventually push their bikes to Madrid, New Mexico, where they stumble into a diner and help themselves to water and beer without paying. As a result, the townspeople first mistake them for Del Fuegos. When the Wild Hogs explain their actions, they learn that the Del Fuegos have been terrorizing the town frequently, while the local police force are unable to do anything to protect the town. Although Woody is still anxious about the Del Fuegos, the others convince him to stay in the town overnight. During their stay in the town, Dudley falls in love with Maggie (Marisa Tomei), the diner's owner. While out searching for the Wild Hogs, Jack's closest biker members Red and Murdock (Kevin Durand and M. C. Gainey) spot the group and report their location to Jack. Jack tells the pair not to harm the Wild Hogs until he gets there, leaving them unable to fight back when Bobby notices and confronts the pair by splashing beer and spraying ketchup and mustard on their clothes before finally physically attacking Murdock, thus scaring off Red. The Wild Hogs are hailed as heroes amongst the town's residents and celebrate well into the night with the townspeople.

The next day, Woody persuades the others that they must leave, but their departure is ruined when the Del Fuegos arrive. Jack threatens to wreck the town unless the Wild Hogs pay for the damage done to their bar. Woody admits to the Wild Hogs what he really did to get Dudley's bike back as well as the real reason for the trip, exasperating the others. Jack and the rest of the Del Fuegos take over Maggie's diner, but when he threatens to burn it, Dudley confronts them and is held hostage. The others attempt to rescue Dudley but fail. They then decide to fight the Del Fuego gang letting Jack, Red, Murdock and a member trained in martial arts "Tiny" battle the group in a 4 on 4 altercation but the Wild Hogs are beaten severely, but refuse to give up. The townspeople band together to battle the Del Fuegos, but just as Jack threatens to take on the rest of the town, Damien Blade (Peter Fonda), Jack's father and the founder of the Del Fuegos, arrives and stops the fight. Damien lectures Jack for letting four "posers" hold off an entire biker gang, questioning aloud just which side was the "posers". He also adds that the bar was merely an insurance scam and therefore was glad that the Wild Hogs destroyed it. Damien tells the Del Fuegos to leave town and ride the open road until they remember what riding is really about, mentioning as he leaves that Jack "takes after his mother". He then acknowledges the Wild Hogs by telling them his motto: "Ride hard, or stay home". He also lightheartedly informs the Wild Hogs to "lose the watches", indicating the watches on their wrists.

Doug and Bobby's wives arrive, and Doug reconciles with his son. Bobby's wife orders him to return with her, but he refuses and convinces her to let him finish the ride. The Wild Hogs leave and arrive in Southern California, where everyone except for Dudley crashes into a surfboard. During the credits, it is revealed that the Wild Hogs called Extreme Makeover: Home Edition to give the Del Fuegos a new bar. The Del Fuegos react in joy (while Jack is emotionally speechless) at their new bar while the Wild Hogs watch the event on TV.

The first one to come to mind walks Wal Street. Being an accountant it had that sort of appeal. But the ones that i really enjoyed were the Wallace and Gromit series. I found the animation fantastic.

‘What Women Want’ is an hilarious movie released in 2000. Even though it is quite dated now we still get lots of chuckles watching this one. It stars Mel Gibson, Helen Hunt, Marisa Tomei and Alan Alda among others.
Many thanks for this locationless fitzy_1965

Had a couple to choose from here.

But I'm going with....

When Harry Met Sally.

A romantic comedy that deals with the trials and tribulations of a couple that meet in Uni and share a drive to New York City.

They then run into each other 5 years later and share their views on relationships.

Eventually after a number of years they marry.

Quite a few laughs along the way.

TFTL Very Happy

I have to say my favorite movie starting with "W" might be Wall-E. Full of adventure and humor. Plus a very important moral, too! Thanks for the fun.
