Description

J & J's seventeenth cache hide. Placed near abandoned farm buildings and implements.

This geocache has been placed in honour of the 10th anniversary of geocaching in Australia!

Details of this event can be seen >here<.

The location of this cache is along a good dirt road, near a collection of abandoned sheds and other farming equipment. It looks as if a strong wind has been through here and knocked one of the sheds over! Luckily, the scattered iron provides a good hiding spot for a geocache.

The container is a black PVC plumbing contraption with a screw-top lid. It holds a number of new swaps as well as the obligatory log book and pen.

There is also a Geocaching Australia FTF pathtag for the first visitor.

Happy hunting!

I'm sure I have been to this site before but this was not the cache I found on my last visit!
Nice to see some of this old machinery just lying around where passers by can appreciate it
And also nice to find another decent sized well made cache Mr. Green

As our time in Wallaroo is rapidly coming to an end we decided to have one last day caching around some more of Yorkes. Today we chose to head to Arthurton and then across the Peninsula to Port Hughes and Moonta/Moonta Bay.

Like the previous finders we were delighted to nab a nice, big, clean, dry cache full of swaps. Many thanks for a beauty J_&_J ClappingDancing

This cache certainly lives up to its name. It is over 2 years since it was last found. We headed towards it in our 2WD Ford Focus which had no trouble with the unsealed roads. We enjoyed the trip in and soon had a very large cache full of great swops in our hands. The resident spiders were not happy to have their home disturbed. Log signed the cache was returned to its hiding spot. Everthing was in excellent condition. We had a look at the ruined buildings nearby before heading back to the highway.

This is an excellent cache and certainly deserves more visitations. Thanks J_&_J for another great caching experience.

Found It!
Don't attempt this cache just following the GPS arrow on your way home from Moonta while it is getting dark. I got quite lost, nearly hit a cow or two and my trip home took about half an hour longer! But I found the cache! Very Happy
Left a sheeptag and took a pathtag
