Another in the series - The Coin Caches. Please read the entirety of the description since there is important information because there is real treasure in this geocache!

IMPORTANT this cache follows the guidelines of Geocaching since it does not require finders to place coins inside the cache it is only the theme of the geocache, therefore it is NOT an agenda.

While under lockdown because of Covid-19 I took the opportunity to explore my local area for spots to place geocaches, I then hid a few coin themed caches in those spots (as I am a coin collector and many other caches are coin themed). This small cache is hidden in the suburb of Sunnybank Hills, Brisbane. The geocache is a small airtight, waterproof container which originally contains some Australian coins, miscellaneous collectables & a logbook with a card explaining geocaching. The cache aim is to try & get coins from as many countries and different periods in it to make this geocache become a mini coin collection for everyone to see. (You are NOT required to trade coins) So feel free to exchange coins in this cache. To jumpstart the coin trading I have added some Australian coins and swag for you to trade into foreign and old coins. (PLEASE READ THE COIN TRADING RULES) There is room in the cache for other swaps as well but leave space for coins. Remember to swap things with something of equal or higher value. This cache can also be used as a trackable hotel. If there are concerns or issues with this geocache you would like to see be addressed please message me and I will be happy to respond to your demands within the period of 30 days. You are free to do voluntary maintenance if you want. I hope you will enjoy this geocache as much as I did making it.

Note for FTF or anyone who finds no foreign coins: there are no foreign coins in this cache at the moment. Feel free to trade the Australian coins in the cache or swag with any foreign coins you have to kickstart this aim of this cache. (If there is continuous reports of no coins in this geocache in the period of 1 week there might be an investigation depending on the situation.

And now for the coin trading rules:

1) If you don't want to trade coins, you don't have to. Feel free to just sign the log, but do not take coins, exchanging coins is not for everyone so it is NOT required, it is just simply to make this geocache unique.

2) If you take a coin, you MUST leave at least one. If you want to take a coin you must leave one or more coin/s in its place. (If you want to you can just leave coins and not take any coins) You CANNOT take coins and leave swag. The only way the concept of this cache will work is if everyone exchanges coins of equal or more value, if you do so, Great!!! You're helping to keep this coin cache alive.

3) No modern Australian coins. The aim of this geocache is to have coins in the cache that are interesting and not seen on a day-to-day basis. However, rare and old Australian coins are all welcome.

4) For the above reason, try to avoid trading common US coins and NZ coins, but if that's all you have then feel free to swap them with something which is also quite common (e.g  modern Australian coins)

5) Please log what is your coin in the log. The only we can know what coins are in the geocache is if you log what type of coin you left, this way we can keep track of what coins are in the geocache so people can know what coin to trade. It is that simple!

6) You can also trade banknotes. If you want trade banknotes, there is nothing wrong with it, just make sure that you follow the same rules with coins but apply them to banknotes.

7) You can also put coins and banknotes in place of some swag. If you want to, You can put coins and/or banknotes in the geocache in place of a piece of swag that you want, by doing so you are helping the collection of coins grow so thank you if you choose to do that.

8) Do not steal the contents of the geocache. We can track you down if you steal the contents of the geocache. If we suspect you of stealing coins from the geocache there will be a personal warning message sent to you instructing you to return the contents. The only circumstance where you can take things from the geocache without leaving anything is of you apply for an exemption by messaging the owner of this cache.

Common Questions and Answers

Q: How can I get foreign coins/banknotes to put in this geocache?

A: Exchange your currency at an exchange place or just buy some.

We know the rules are tough but they are required to keep this cache unmuggled and so there will actually be coins in this cache for people to enjoy. Good luck on finding this cache and have a nice time trading coins! (This cache does follow the geocaching guidelines by the way as I have seen many similar caches like this that have successfully gotten approved, which were my source of inspiration)

Kind Regards, CommunistOnions
