Description
Interested in swapping pathtags? Then the swapitorium is the cache for you.
Sometimes it's difficult to find another pathtagger to swap a tag with. You could always trade via mail, but that costs nearly as much money as the cost of a tag. So caughtawork has decided to hide a pathtag swapitorium where you can drop by and check out the other pathtags in the cache and swap one out for one in.
Drop by is a small misnomer in this caches case. The cache is around 700m from the closest parking area, but the track is all paved and very flat so it's more of a wander down the path than a slog through the bush.
Please note that you cannot get to the cache from the freeway. Not only is it dangerous and illegal to park along the freeway, there is a 10 foot high fence that will stop you only centimeters from the cache location. Take the Keilor Park Drive exit from the freeway and head towards Brimbank Park. Just before you get to the park gates, take the left hand road, Dodds Road, all the way to the end. This is the closest legal approaching point to the cache.
From there, wander along the Western Ring Road Path and follow the path until you have about 10m to 15m to go. Then head towards the fence. The cache should be an easy find at this point. You are looking for two 1 litre containers inside a 30 calibre ammo can. One container has ordinary swaps and the log book. The other has a load of pathtags. The area is off the path and surrounded by trees so you should be safe from passing muggle in all directions.
Plese note that this is a very dry area and a habitat for snakes, so please be very careful when you inspect for the cache. Maybe use a stick to check the hiding location before you uncover it. Despite the many holes in the ground made by rabbits, the cache is NOT below ground.
When the cache was placed it contained around 30-40 Geocaching Australia pathtags or various designs. While you may already have one or two, you are more than welcome to make a swap and trade.
I hope you enjoy the Pathtag Swapitorium.

A nice little walk to the cache, and an easy find. The Cache is in excellent condition. There was a little Gecko keeping guard duty. Lots of road works still going on. The Bike path is still open, so I may make an attack on the caches down the track soon.
Thanks CAUGHTATWORK.

Once at GZ, the cache was quickly spied and all was good. Then it was back to the car and down to see what is happening at the event.
Thanks caughtatwork.....the first of a few of yours today.
Sol de lune and I had met at GA3699, both with the same idea of picking up a few of the other GCA caches before the event. We parked up near the entrance and chatted as we walked across here. We even saw a wallaby in the grass watching as we walked past.
A nice quick find at gz and we were soon on way back. Thanks caughtatwork for the caching fun today.
there was no other pathtags in here at all.
so we left one of ours.
Thanks for the cache caughtatwork.
A pleasant walk to GZ, made a quick find but only 1 pathtag to swap with. Took that one and left a hookline one TFTC.
After picking up a couple of new caches on the Moonee Ponds Creek, I decided a nice walk in the sunshine was in order... time to check out the Swapitorium.
Parking near the works depot, I headed along the dirt track to the trail across the upper level of Brimbank Park, then off to the Ring Road trail, reaching the top of that, er, fun climb from the bottom below the big bridge.
The find was straightforward, but, though I admired the pathtag within, and the rest of the swag, I left it all as I found it and headed back to the car around the power substation. All in all, nearly four klicks... not bad.
TNLNSL. Thanks caughtatwork.
I jumped out and headed along the path towards GZ.
A quite walk and I was soon at GZ.
I'm sure it was PrincessDiala that filled up the pathtags.
I just signed the log and took off.
So I decided that I would also make this one a two-for-one cache.
Claiming a find on GA2223 Costume Capers too.
I had already cleared with the owner that the costume I used for a friends 30th would be suitable to log this one.
So I located the cache dressed as everyone favourite plumber! Haha!
So the cache was found and pictures taken (I'll upload some to this log at a later date) just before it started raining heavily, phew!
Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed that I was unable to do some pathtag swapping. Not a single pathtag to be found Disappointing really.
Took nothing.
Left some of my personal ones inside as trades - how can it be a pathtag swapitorium with NO pathtags?!
Thanks caughtatwork for a great of this cache.
No DNF's all day, is that a First?? Might be.
A fantastic last big cache hide, full of the goodies that the kids would have loved, but they weren't here today. Took nothing as I had no swaps.
Watch out for the bunny holes around the area.
TFTC besides a never ending stream of busy traffic.
I have driven past this one several times and today was the day for a visit. The insulators on the fence indicted that it may have been electrified at some stage. I swapped 3 for three pathtags. This is a great idea, not only for swaps, but may get others interested in the pathtags. TFTC
Worked out the correct way in to the listed parking space and then enjoyed a great brisk walk to the cache. The cache was hidden well in an area that was good to spend a bit of time looking through all the swaps and pathtags. After all that we took a pathtag and dropped in 2 of our own brand new pathtags in return.
Thanks C@W for the cache and a great idea in adding the pathtag swap too, this cache had a different twist on the way back to our car too ..... great fun.
The cache was quickly found and the log signed.
Nice setup in the ammo case.

The Riddeller.
Pathtags were all the go up at Wagga for the mega event, I just can't see myself scrounging around trading these little things, but putting them into caches - maybe the go! I don't have any but I wanted to check some of them out without the evil eagle eyes (of some 60 year old grandma who has only found 2 caches and has 50 different path tags) starring at me to see whether I'm going to pinch one - yes it was that bad up at Wagga! I might order some then come back and make a swap, thanks caughtatwork!

The young daughter and I approached GZ with pathtag swaps in hand and, to the sound of the passing traffic and low flying planes, inspected the very well stocked cache. She examined the contents of one box while I eyed the other. Choices made we headed on for a bit more exercise in the beautiful sunshine. We've hardly been near here before and the area looked like it deserved a little exploration.
Took: 5 pathtags. Left: 5 (all different) pathtags.
Cheers caughtatwork, thanks for the great idea, all the GCA tag designs and, of course as always, the quality cache.
Nice hide, pleasant walk to cache.
Took 2 pathtags and left two pathtags
I love that this is a pathtag swap cache, we need more of these cause I'm hooked on these things
