Description

This cache place here as part of the 10yr celebrations

We came across this place by mistake as we were looking for a hiding spot along the Tamar river.

Anyway this cache is in a great spot for a family day fishing or just playing on the small beach.

There is a picnic table but no barby so you will have to bring your own to cook your snags.

please note.........THE GATE IS CLOSED AT SUNSET EACH DAY.....AND NO PETS ALLOWED...

As the Parks and Wildlife signage reads on  your way in.

Cache contains

log book and pen (but always bring your own writing stick)

and a few swaps

please enjoy.

PLEASE REPLACE AND COVER AS FOUND

I searched and searched for this in all the obvious and then unobvious places, but too much disgusting rubbish around for me to probe too much. My time was short as the sun was nearly setting and then along came another car with some beer drinking lads, so I left cacheless this time.

It would have been great to log two caches with the same name on the same day...

A rough road to get here. First spot I looked was full of broken bottles but then I spotted a likely GZ. It was in the second spot that I checked and I was pleased it wasn't in the stump with the broken bottles. TFTC and for bringing me to a place I would never have found if it wasn't for the geocache. Had to leave in hurry as it was getting dark and I didn't want to get locked in for the night!!

cache in good shape - a new spot for us, never been here before!

29-Dec-16
We have been here years ago to get the GC caches and forgot the GCA one! It works out well as can now claim it for the Summer Scavenger Series games. All good at GZ even though cache was lying out in the open. Coords took us to a stump filled with broken beer bottles. Found cache closer to these coords S41 18.520 E146 58.716. YFTC

Needed a cache find for ANZAC Day so after grandson's birthday party we found our way to this reserve. A quick find after we made it to the end of a fairly rough track, didn't even know this area existed. TFTC

In the area during my run around Tassie and headed down for this one as well. After the drive along the dirt track, the cache was soon in hand and all was good. Neat location...couple of photos attached.

Thanks for showing me the area Flange_1&Tribe....

Another of those out of the way spots which, but for caching I would never have known even existed.. thanks..!!

It takes more than a little rain & mud to stop us caching when we have the opportunity. We were last here almost 18 months ago chasing caches (strangely also on a rather dampish day). More stangely still, we weren't "bothering" with GCA's then (though we were well aware of their existence) in the silly belief we'd "do them when the GC's dried up". Hah! Well we're back again but this time with GCA's & GC's in our sights. All good (& surprisingly dry) at GZ. Thanks guys.

It was surprisingly quiet down here today considering it was a public holiday. Found in the company of choppersrule and family. A really enjoyable days caching. Thanks flange_1&tribe. Your caches provided most of our finds today. We loved your work!

I found the gz easily and flipped over the rock finding a wolf spider and a dead huntsman. After a little shiver I retrieved the cache and logged it. Then while replacing the cache I noticed the huntsman obviously wasn't dead and had crawled away. The others commented on how restrained my scream and shudder of revulsion was Wink

thanks for the cache

Another nice little waterside spot we would never have seen if not for geocaching. Judging by the old campfires quite a lot of other people like it here too. TFTC Very Happy

It was a beautiful winter's day after 3 horrible days so a walk to find some geocaches was essential. We hadn't been here for about 5 years - before us Geocaching - and knew exactly where to go. Unfortunately due to the high winds of the previous 3 days there was a big black wattle across the track right at the start of the bush. Thus we parked and walked the 800m or so in and quickly located the cache before returning to the car. Not many people know this spot so thanks for hiding a cache here to get more people to visit Smile

Hi to the Tribe
I loved doing this cache!
The TomTom tried to get me to go down the wrong side of the river.
Arrived at the road in and a tree had fallen across the road so I had to do a little bush bashing with the car; only a little!!
The drive to ground zero was very pleasant and slow.
Arrived at GZ and the March Flies tried to eat us alive - they're early as it's only February.
Found the cache and went to extract it from the hide but had to wait for the gigantic trianchular to get off the cache lid before I could move it.
Signed the log at 1014hrs.
Took some great pics of this great spot;
TFTC and cheers,
OldSaint.

It's been some time since this was found, which is a shame as it's a lovely area to explore. The cache is in good condition, but the road in is a bit crook in places, although a 2wd could handle it with care. Thanks for the hunt flange 1&tribe.

Great spot - but sad to see some hoons have done some damage to it recently. Swapped a fire engine for a desert racer matchbox. TFTC!

Found after the GPS settled.
Many thanks

Well I smothered my GPS screen with backtracking along Windemere road numerous times then pulled off.
I rang the owner for help and stayed on the phone till I knew what I was doing.

Found the road in and drove to GZ. What a perfect little place for a cache. Absolutely loved it! Thanks AGAIN flange_1&tribe

GPS was sending us down the West Tamar but we didnt feel like a swim so we tried the East Tamar side and kept our feet dry. TFTC

06-Jun-10
Not being familiar with the area, it took us a little while to find the access road to the reserve but, once we did, it was a simple drive to a very pleasant river side location for a quick find. This was our 750th cache since starting geocaching at the beginning of 2010. TFTC

05-Jun-10
Beautiful day to be beside the river.

Found the cache after battling the GPS which wanted me in the middle of the Tamar, but after a reebot had me in the right spot!

Thanks!

31-May-10
I hadn't driven along this part of the Tamar before and must say it's probably the nicest stretch of any. Quaint little reserve...would be a great stopover with a boat. The cache is all well...top hide...another very enjoyable spot. Many thanks F & T.....Cheers.

23-May-10
Thanks Flange I had never been to this area before so it was especially nice to be here on such a great day! Although at the time of day it was still a little chilly. TNLN. TFTC

18-May-10
Done a spot of fishing nearby and just had to grab this cache while in the area. Didn’t rush down to it as I noticed that a FTF had already been made in the early hours of the morning… Yet another spot we have passed on many occasions and never realised this track leading in was actually here….
Another great hide in a great spot by the Tribe….
