Description

An easy find in what is meant to be a wetland.

Formerly the site of degraded farming land, the Kaurna Park Wetlands at Burton provide a mixture of recycling innovation with some of the State's richest spiritual history.
One of the key features of Kaurna Park is the Wodliparri Trail, a winding path with a series of boardwalks leading visitors across a number of channels and through a growing array of native flora. Wodliparri is the Kaurna name for the Milky Way, and the extensive Adelaide Plain wetlands were a tremendous source of economic and spiritual wealth for the Kaurna people.
The wetland is both a home and a stopping point for a number of species of birds, animals and other fauna. Recycled wastewater from Kaurna Park is re-purposed for use in irrigating ovals, parks and the City's trees. Car parking is available.

Finding GCA caches today and this was one we found. Took some searching but we finally found a very old cache. Container was full of water and lid completely gone. Added a sheet of paper in a lolly bag that we found on the ground and placed it upside down back where we found it.

Many thanks Zytheran for placing this cache.

Found It!
According to the GPS, I was last at this cache 1463 days ago. I didn't find it that day. Today I finally came back for another look and spotted it in under 5 minutes. Oddly, nothing about GZ looks like it did last time I was here... Nice to cross another Z cache off the list though!

It's taken us way to long to get here to find this cache, but it's been on our to-do list since it was first hidden.

We're currently the only SA team (so far) competing in the current GCA Scavenger Hunt competition, so we're hoping to use this find to help our score.

We parked west of the cache and enjoyed a nice stroll on a warm day through the park. There was a bit of water around, but it looks like it might end up dry in a month or two.

The cache was a nice easy find, and when we saw repairs to the lid, we were expecting it to be damp inside. We're happy to report that the cache is in good condition, and as dry as the wetlands will be by the end of summer.

Thanks Zytheran.

Found this one by accident. Came lookng for a moveable but found a tradtional. Had me very confused for a while as I'd looked at the map but of course the two were on top of each other. The number is no longer on the cache and the log book isn't labelled so I didn't know what to think, except that the cache was obviously much older than the moveable I came for.
Figured it in the end, after checking the Groundspeak caches, I thought to consult GA Cacher and all became clear.
After the confusion, I got all the way back to the car before realising I hadn't signed the log. I expect I'll be in the area again sometime so it'll give me an excuse for a nice walk. Very Happy TFTC. An accidental find but still fun!

At long last after many attempts. Our GPS is usually spot on but not so with this one. Located about 3 metres away from GPS GZ. Maybe someone thought it a bit harder to fing putting it there. TFTC

There was a large number of geocaching type people looking for dry land at the end of a great night out caching across Adelaide. I needed dry land as I decided to step into a stream on the first cache of the night, luckily the rain stayed away and we all had a good time.

This was an easy find with at least a dozen eyes and torches looking! This is a great area, love to see it in the day! TFTC

we searched and searched and searched again, the poor bush has suffered enough without us adding to it.

Reluctantly we gave up and came away empty handed

Poor wife and I nearly killed the poor tree where we think this is hidden. One day we will come back to it.

After dropping 1/2 the kids off at school thought I would walk down to find this very close to home cache under 400m away, in a straight line that is. As the hubby had the GPS with him thought I would try without it. I was in the general area. Winterdragon came along and helped with the search. when about to go home winterdragon had one more look and there it was.
Thank you for the enjoyable walk, even if it is a bit dry at the moment. TFTCSL

The wetland's looking dry at the moment. Even the wet bits are dry.

Had a pleasant walk in this morning, only to discover Mrs McKee already in search mode, with two mini McKees nearby. She was doing it Bob style, without a GPS, but had pretty much targetted the same spot that my GPS was pointing.

We searched for a while without much luck, and it was starting to feel a bit like searching a bush for an eclipse tin - although a really big bush and a really big eclipse tin. In the end we had to resort to quitter's luck - starting to walk away, then saying "Maybe just one more look... over here..." Success, and we even got that important blank first page to sign our names on!

TNLN - Thanks Zytheran!
