Description
Paul Edwards created “Lane Cove” in 2000. Now it is a virtual cache as geocaching is not allowed in National Parks. This cache has been placed as close as possible to the original “Lane Cove” without being in the National Park.
Across the road and closer to the original cache is a Caravan Park which is allowed inside the National Park but hopefully no-one will complain about this new location.
Lane Cove 2010 has been specifically placed to avoid the four reasons that the original Lane Cove is now only a virtual.
Firstly, it is well away from all occurrences of Darwinia Biflora that I could find, but close to several Ligustrum plants (privet).
Secondly, it is located in a road corridor so heading into the scrub shouldn’t be an issue here.
Thirdly, there are numerous weeds in the vicinity of GZ already. I suggest you practice CIWO (Cache In Weed Out). If you see a privet or farmers friend/cobblers beg near the cache gently remove it and take it home to your green bin.
Fourthly, backburning in this area should not be an issue. Occasionally smoke may be noticed but it is probably from the two crematoria in the nearby area.
This cache also fits another of Paul Edwards original criteria in that it has been placed in an uninteresting area.

No problems with this today. The only muggle about was the bush turkey crossing the road. Nice to find a regular container in the area.

We're staying a few days at the tourist park, in one of the cabins. Not the bright of luxury, but clean, week appointed and best of all cheap (in comparison to pretty much anywhere else in Sydney).
We've generally be en coming or going on a bit of a rush since we've been here, so it's taken a couple of days to get round to finding the cache. I was taking the eldest for a splash in the pool and we popped out to find this first. A nice easy find - the cache was almost in plain view. Not so clear that it would be spotted by someone not looking though. We re-hid the cache a little better.
Trying a real cache where we're staying is a bonus.

Grabbed with Just a cacher after a meeting with blossom* and a visit to the Lane Cove virtual nearby.
Thanks for the cache Team Lego Men.

I didn't actually find this one, Black Bunny did. I was in the general vicinity, though. I was worn out with all that frog hunting so I took a short break for a cuppa instead - so shoot me!

There was some muggle activity in the area when I parked, so I went to the site of the virtual first. I was pleased to find that the coast was clear by the time I got back so had no hassles finding the cache. Thanks for the cache!
Not happy! 14m from GZ and this lady in a work car, is busy putting up some sort of barricade right along the road side near GZ. Then she goes and sits in her car. Looked like some sort of security from the nearby caravan park. Who barricades the side of the road on a Sunday ?
A nice quick find, even got this one in the dark without a GPS.

Another fine TLM cache on this wet Friday lunchbreak - I do like these ones that are not too hard to find once you go to the effort of getting to GZ - especially when the weather is not amenable to hanging around! TNLT SL Thx TLM!
Found this afternoon after work. Had never seen the caravan park here before, though I'd heard about it. Cache is in good order. TNLN Thanks Lego.

We were able to visit this cache while on a quick trip to Sydney and we went for a short walk along the tracks. TFTC Team Lego Men
Staying at the van park--did the nearby GC virtual cache that this one commemorates. Nice park, big contrast between planes on flight path and cemetery, enjoying the walks. tftc

Found the landmark Virtual and spotted this pretty much opposite to my car, caught the obligatory spider web on entry but found quickly.
I dropped my GPS case when I set off for the Virtual then was suprised when I returned the next day on my way back from some other Lave Cove caches to find it on the ground where I suspected it should be.. great huh..
thanks

It seemed fitting that we find this cache the same day as the original Lane Cove one. Thanks TLM
Raining and a slow day at work. Jumped in the car and managed to park right in front of GZ. pjmpjm is right, muggles mulling around, but no one pays attention. SL. TNLN TFTC.

This geocache certainly meets all the relevant original criteria and therefore is somewhat, well, 'uninteresting' -- to use the term employed in the original 2000 Paul Edwards geocache!
I stopped alongside Plassey Road while on my way elsewhere and had CIH in seconds. Container was in good shape and the contents were dry. TNLNSL.
I peeked over the fence and saw some interesting graves, but you'll have no interference from that side of GZ or -- most likely -- from the caravan/holiday park off on the other side of the road. There will usually be a few tourists wandering up and down in this area, but no-one is like to care about what you're doing amongst the privet!
A tip of the hat to the original 'Lane Cove' geocache and thanks to Team Lego Men for this commemorative effort! Much appreciated.
An extra 'Thumbs Up' to remember Paul Edwards makes three for this otherwise (deliberately) 'uninteresting' geocache!

Wanted to make sure I managed to grab at least one GCA cache on todays run and this was it!! Almost a drive-by - was very impressed by the camping\caravan area (which I plan to use on my next visit to Sydney)and with the Family Vaults in the Cemetary next door (which I hope I don't need to use for quite some time!! )
TFTC - nice one!!!

Well this one is on the way home from work when I'm in the office anyway, but have left it so far. But today I needed a cache to fill in a hole in the calendar of finds and it was nice and convenient. So that's 11 August ticked off as a date with a find.
Drove up and looked around, it took me a little longer than it probably should have before I spotted the hide. TNLNSL, thanks Team Lego Men.

Found this one hanging out with some fun guys - mushrooms - get it.
A great caravan park nearby, which out of town friends use quite often.
Loved the contents of the cache.
BTW - This is The Spindoctors 1600th (GC/GCA) cache find.

With rain coming down and having to work this morning I was surprised to find I was only the third person to find this cache this afternoon. It wasn't helped by the fact that 3 guys were talking 20 metres from where I wanted to be. After 15 minutes, and because it had started to rain again, they left and I was able to grab this well concealled cache.
Thanks TLM now off to your next one.

Second to find at 12:20pm this afternoon. Again, wasn't too easy to find given that I didn't have my GPSr on me, but managed to find it in the end (in the pouring rain). TFTC.

As we'd only been caching for a year we hadn't visited the original Lane Cove cache before. With the 10th anniversary approaching we decided to save it for the actual day so I went alone. Seeing this one pop up I thought it was a great chance to grab both. Was pleased to pull up in easing rain to find myself only a few metres away from the cache. Looked like it had already been visited but I opened the cache to find the FTF certificate and the pathtag! *FTF* Woohoo! That will make someone very happy who couldn't be there today. I'd given up hope of FTF as Team Lego Men and blossom* had already grabbed the couple I'd visited but in this case it's a TLM cache so that gave me a better chance! Took the certificate and PT (of course) and signed the log. Then wandered down to the original Lane Cove (GC3E) some 350m from here. Thanks!
