As the CO knows, I don't need to visit as I live here! I have chosen to highlight Waddamana for this cache. We revisited a couple of weeks ago and had a wonderful day out.

I was born in Burnie, went to university in Hobart and then lived and worked in the North of the State.
Cataract Gorge in Launceston is beautiful in all seasons and I run around here regularly. Peacocks, wallabies and the occasional seal are seen in this nature reserve. Walking tracks and a fresh water pool or basin to swim in. All a short distance from the city centre

Yes I have been to Tassie. Born in Launceston and moved to Hobart. I have taken a photo of the Tasman Bridge from near Government House as I said when we first moved down here I didn't want to live on the Eastern Shore due to the bridge collapse. Guess what - have lived on the Eastern Shore for 43 years. TFTL Happy New Year

Mount Wellington
Lucky the cache doesn't have a visit-by date as my three week holiday in Tassie was in 1972. I have quite a few choices to log.. Wrest Point Casino which was newly opened at the time, Port Arthur, Richmond Bridge, Cradle Mountain, Bicheno Blowhole to name a few. Surprising considering my travel friends' idea of scenery at the time had two legs and was male.
This photo was taken moments before getting pelted with a snowball. What is most unexpected is the trig in the background. I didn't know till today I had a photo of Mount Wellington ST90.

Our last trip to Tasmania was in March 2016 on our 35th Wedding Anniversary!
Climbing son was down there for a year climbing and studying on-line.
This was the third trip MrT and I had done to Tassy. Towing the campertrailer and climbing son in his van, we visited some different places.
Bay of Fires was a new place for us. Such amazing rocks and colours.

Duck Reach Power Station, Launceston, Tasmania
A must see location when visiting Tassie, along with with the Cataract Gorge.
Being Tasmanians we take for granted these popular tourist attractions.

This was taken during the family visit to the Apple Isle back in December 2016. It doesn't feel quite that long ago, but I do suppose that the COVID period has knocked a couple of years off my memory. We visited the Unzoo in Tasmania specifically so we could catch a glimpse of the devil which is one of GabGab's favorite animals. A lovely week spent in Tasmania visiting the areas around Hobart. Next time we make it down there it might have to the North rather than the South./

We are currently in Tassie, at the end our third week out of four and a half weeks.
One of the most iconic spots is Cradle Mountain, hence the pic we have added.

We visited Eaglehawk Neck lookout last year while finding caches for the MMMM games. the view from this lookout was amazing. so glad we have theses little gems in our own backyard.
Fitzpatrick's Inn at Westbury...
Been to Tassie at least 10 times over the years and have stayed at Fitzpatrick's twice. A neat old place and worth the stay to sit in the bar area. Have enjoyed my many trips and look forward to the next one...whenever that may be.
Thanks for this one OldSaint.

I have been calling this wonderful state of Tassie home now for 17 years. Some almost consider me a local now!
This one, taken 25/11/2023, is of me and my muggle partner at Russell Falls, located in the Mt Field National Park 73km northwest of Hobart. A must see location for visitors to the "small island".

We visited back in 2008 and loved it, we are due to revisit at Easter this year.
The picture is me in Hobart, the location is obvious.

Thanks to OldSaint for this opportunity to share our travels in Tassie.
We were so luck to squeeze a trip in February 2020 a few weeks prior to the great lockdown.
Our choice is Cataract Gorge in Launceston.
We have visited here three times over the years and always love the chairlift across to the tea rooms and those peacocks.

Whilst we always enjoy heading to the northern island, we really enjoy many places in our home state. A real favourite is The Nut at Stanley, the town where Mr y'stassie's mother was born and grew up. A photo of The Nut from the northern end of Godfrey's Beach is included with this log. Thanks OldSaint for the cache.
Tassie is our home state too and we love living here. So many beautiful places but one of favourites is Trowutta Arch. A short 15 minute walk from the parking area gets you there. It is a natural arch eroded out of limestone next to a flooded sinkhole.
Lots of colourful fungi along the way too.
I've lost count of the number of times we have visited and it is a little known place that we like to share with visitors.
There's been several caches there over the years.
The cache at the start of the walk is at S41 4.048 E145 6.679.
Thanks.

I've been to Tassie quite a few times over the years dating back to my first trip in 1976 with school. It's a great place to visit and the boys have slated it as the destination for our week-long, annual motorbike trip in Feb next year. Can't wait.
Tassie is even the home to our first ever Letterbox cache and Earthcache finds, both on the same day back in March 2007.
And how could I resist posting a pickie of the Mersey Bluff lighthouse where I nabbed a 2-for-1 find with GA8545 and TP6594?
Thanks OldSaint

Lucky enough to have been to Tassie a couple of times.
This was my first trip in 1987, school camp!
Australian Antarctic Division HQ.
Just looked it up in Kingston just south of Hobart.
Not sure if this is the same spot it is now.
Cannot remember that far back!

Wow - we have so many wonderful memories of our four weeks in Tassie, just two years ago.
4 wonderful weeks with winter getting closer every day.
Memories of two years ago are popping up every day.
Waterfalls, snow, boat trips, train trips, chocolate feasts and awesome bakeries, starry clear night skies camped on the edge of the beautiful coastlines, with fairy Penguins running under the caravan at night time ))
A trip with great memories, was so different from when I was there in 1988, when the Tall Ships were in the harbour, setting sail for Sydney and the 200 Year Celebrations
Our photo is on the train trip from Queenstown to Strahan, it was soooo cold, though, with all the steam and foggy landscapes, we have some beautiful photos.
Awesome memories of our wonderful visits to The Apple Isle
Thanks for the Locationless Cache OldSaint

Many thanks for this one. We were last in Tasmania too long ago now, May 2008. Had intentions of coming back i 2020 and now it looks like 2022 early in that year. We amazed the hire car lady at Hobart airport when we took the hire car back with over 3000kilometers added to the speedo. We were trying to visit as many historical sites as we could and went to the main tourist attractions. Richmond and the Historical Richmond Bridge was one spot. Also managed to get some geocaches found as well as as a search of my stats will reveal if required. TFTLC
