Description

A while ago I had the privilege of living in the 'Gong for a few years. I really loved the life and lifestyle down here however work and other commitments eventually dragged me away.
Whenever I get the opportunity to head back this way I always get this euphoric feeling as I top Mt Ousley and look out over the escarpment and out to sea.
It feels like coming home.

To find the cache you should park in the southbound rest area at the top of Mt Ousley. Head up the well defined path for a bit and then as it heads off to the left you will see a less defined track heading in the direction of the cache. If you just follow the arrow then you should find it with no trouble at all.

Just a few metres away from the cache you can also get a sneak peek at the view which always leaves me longing for the 'Gong.

Happy Caching.

One a day trip from Canberra and after a couple of caches in Mittagong this area was my next point of call. Parked at the suggested area and took the walk towards GZ, zigging and zagging along a few different tracks. Eventually arrive close to where the GPSr zeroed out started the search. Took a few minutes, however the ammo can was soon uncovered and all was good. An interesting note from a muggle, but good to see they left the cache in situ. Signed the log, replaced the cache and then headed over for the view...which wasn't that great today due to a mist/fog that was covering the area. After that, it was back to the track/s and back down to the car.

Thanks Homedg….great to find an old cache still out there.....

Wow, that's a lot of unloved days! The ammo tin has been sitting here patiently, on its side, in the bush, undisturbed for nearly 2 years. I do wonder if when it was placed there was a better view as the bush now hinders any viewing at this point.

Found what is assumed to be the lovely view but could not find cache after 45min of searching. May have been removed or moved/covered by nature.

Nothing beats seeing a good ammo container in the field!

I found this one while trying to complete the Illawara Escarpment tour, after last year failure to find number 12.

Love the view, thanks!

Wow, Long time between drinks for this one! Pity, great cache. Parked in the rest area and headed up the hill, fighting many many spider webs on route Wink A quick flick of the stick solved that problem and I was soon at GZ. Hunted for a little while pausing occasionally to try to peak at the view now mostly blocked by trees, but still there.

Eventually came up with the goods and found no sigs since 2011! Shame Sad
On my way down to Merimbula and picking up a good number of boxes on route.

Cheers!

We decided to park at the rest area and have a nice walk to this one, followed by the GC caches Brokers Nose & then Vietnow before turning around & heading back. All in all, it turned out to be a 16km walk. There's some super views up here!
Cheers,
The Hancock Clan
