Description
Toy Box Raid 1
My first entry for the GCA movables competition 2012.
As usual I failed to plan ahead for this years competition and have to resort to the toy box raid to come up with entries. At least this years theme means plenty of toys to choose from.
This one chosen by geokid #2.
Have fun finding and moving these around and please log any dnfs so I can keep an eye out if they go missing.

Searched where the GPS took us. DNF.
I hope someone has just picked it up and not logged having done so.
This spot has a very high muggle risk in my opinion. I am worried that it has been muggled.

whilst recovering from a nasty wasp bite, this rocked up nearby. Still a bit woozy from the meds (which is the whole recovery thing!). TFTC!
In the National Capital mining for the fjords?
Discovered in the hands of Whitewebbs at the Oz Geo Muster mega event. Thanks for sharing.

Spotted this moveable in the hands of Whitewebbs with Luckyl10n and Sol de Lune at the Oz Geo Muster Mega Event in Morisset NSW.
The Oz Geo Muster Mega Event. What a blast. This was my first mega event and I loved it. I traveled up and around with ziggiau. Ziggiau drove while I tried to navigate and research our next location at the same time. haha. It was great meeting GCA and GC cachers. I just wish I could have got to know you all more, but hopefully time and more events will do that.
Thanks for the moveable.

After a great family weekend we had a few moveable caches to rehide, hopefully we've calculated correctly and they're all at least 250km from where we picked them up
Oops, found this little guy recently along with a collection of other moveable caches but missed logging him. Checking where we found our collection in preparation for taking them south for the appropriate distance to count towards a DZ trophy and found we had an extra in the bag. Apologies to the CO TFTC
Mr T and Mr T jr took a ride around Peter Murrel Reserve today to try to clean up a few outstanding GC and GCA caches, but lost heart to kept searching for this one and two others close by when I happened to look down and had a young tiger snake moving past my feet. Please be careful if searching in this area over the coming months.
Hi geo jas
After spending the morning on the jack hammer at my bowls club; Geeveston Bowls Club; lifting tiles in preparation for the laying of new ones and pulling up the bar lino in readiness for new to be put back down, I was in need of some relaxation – CACHING was my outlet.
Travelled from Geeveston to Huonville and then to Kingston to retrieve this cache.
Round trip of 142 kilometres for a lot of aches and pains (caused by jack hammering) netting two caches.
The weather was brilliant – sunny, about 16 to 18 degrees Celsius. Really good for a short walk.
As the crow flies, distance to the cache from where I parked the car was 275 metres.
In actual fact, I covered 1.87 kilometres using 2529 steps burning 311 calories.
At Ground Zero, the co-ordinates were some 7 to 10 metres out so finding the cache took longer than anticipated. The clue said “burnt stump” but there were several in the vicinity which made finding the cache a little harder; even after expanding the search area.
Finally, the cache was Sainted at 1321 hours.
Only two muggles walked by after I had made the find, otherwise what can be a busy area was reasonably quiet.
The walk back to the car took a little longer than the walk in as “rigor mortis” was setting in after the morning’s activity.
TFTC and cheers

Back out again and ready to be found .
After collecting a heap of moveables in the Northwest a few weeks ago this has been the first chance I have had to drop them off anywhere interesting.
Today myself and Goose of GooseandEgg were walking round Peter Murrell reserve cleaning up some Gc caches we had failed to find yet and along the way we kept our eyes out for good locations to hide these moveables.
I have done my best to spread them out a little bit so if you want to collect more than a couple it could take a few hours, we got here about 11 and left about 3.
It was a nice spring day with us both enjoying the day no end.

Myself and Goose of GooseandEgg have had a big weekend, starting out before 6am on Saturday we have covered some miles, heading North from Hobart we called at a couple of Southern caches near Melton Mowbray before making our way past Mole Creek to Flumming Hell and then on to Devonport and Ulverstone collecting many GC and GCA caches as we went.
Sunday morning was started with a FTF on a reverse cache and then a great little gadget cache as we headed West.
GooseandEgg dropped off this moveable and now i'm picking it up so I can move it on in the next week.
Later in the day we went to a CITO event and cleaned up the area and then cleaned up some caches, after a few stops along the way we made it back to Hobart by about 6pm, not a bad weekend at all
This movable will be back out soon.

I arrived home from work to find Neville (my old gnome) having a party in the front garden with a bunch of other movables. Neville gets bored on his retirement so I can't blame him for having the occasional get together but it was time for the 'riffraff' to move on so I made sure they went a good distance so they would not be back in a hurry. Enjoy the Northwest coast you mad partygoer, enjoy playing bridge.
Found loitering around a dirty old gnome quite close to home. I was surprised to interrupt such a big gathering. The retired gnome is staying put but the rest of the party goers are being moved along swiftly. So glad they didn't leave a mess. Thanks for the movable.

A lovely spring day to be out and about. We heard a retired gnome was feeling a bit lonely in his garden bed so have dropped by for a visit with quite a few friends. Bring on the party!
While finding the nearby GC cache with OldSaint on a glorious spring day, I thought I had better bring this moveable back with me to civilisation! Not much of a party to be had here today at the stump. There were plenty of mates, but no internet and a kick out time of 4.00 pm. Plus the thermal pool was only 24 degrees but warmer here than sitting in the snow on the nearby hills. Hitching a ride to whitewebbs house before moving on. TFTM

Hi geo_jas
Left home, Huonville, this morning in the dark; travelled as far as Ulverstone and returned in the dark - left at 0530hrs and returned home at 2200hrs. A round trip comprising 772 kilometres including visits to Kindred, Turners Beach, West Ulverstone and Spreyton.
Weather: Wet at Huonville at 0530hrs, raining to Oatlands and then fine weather on the North West Coast for the day until I left and got back to Oatlands where it was humming down. Rained on and off from there to Huonville.
Having found one cache on Don Heads, my plan was to find as many as possible of the TasStats series as possible.
The puzzles had been solved some time ago, but this was virtually the first chance I have had to come North West in a similar period of time. So far in that series, I've found six with just one to find - so on the way to look for it, I thought I might as well try to find some caches along the way. This was the fourth on the way through the beautiful farming land from TasStats 6. So far today, I've found eleven including this one - All GCA; not one GC amongst them yet: 1 Trig, 6 Puzzles, three traditionals and now one moveable.
Attempts to get to the right side of the Bass Highway to get close to TasStats 7 failed; so I settled down; whilst stopped; I took a look for closer caches to be found on the GPS. A moveable nearby; off in search; not there - second time today; Sirius you .....
Phone call to sirius Tas and we make plans to say hello; visit it home; spend time and collect fourteen more moveables of which, this is one. Now you know the story behind my collecting your cache:
My tally for the day jumped from eleven to twenty-five comprising 1 Trig, 6 Puzzles, three traditionals and now fifteen moveables.
I Sainted the cache at 1400hrs.
After putting the caches in the car, I took some pics of my mates house. Back in the car myself and continued on the way to look for TasStats 7 again.
TFTC and cheers

All go...now in the hands of Old Saint...cheers ST.
With such cold and inclement weather this past few weeks here in north west Tassie, going any where geocaching for me seemed to be out of the question. A good time to plan the various trips required in order to satisfy the various conflicting elements of the current DZ trophy points system. One trophy requirement is to find 100 moveable caches of which I need to find a further 26. So last night to my surprise, I saw 10 moveable caches had popped up on the radar and all with in a 10 km radius of home. I had thought of going caching last night but it was quite cold and even with a superb torch....power torch from Kleva Range.....with out doubt the best torch I have ever had.....it would be difficult finding all of the 10 moveable caches, so decided to head off early today...Friday morning....plus it was a better fit for some of the other dz trophy requirements..e.g. number of dz caches per day of the week, also for each day of the month plus the winter solstice trophy.Thankfully the weather was reasonably fine this morning, although quite over cast so the hunt was on. As soon as I had put my hat and boots on, Murder(the younger of the two canine family....4 yo) started to get pretty excited as he just loves both bush walking and travelling around in the geo fourby. My eldest canine...Sirius...is now too old(16.5 yo) to leave the comfort of his bed in front of the wood heater...which has an electric blanket of course(which he just loves and is great for his arthritis). Having walked 100's of km's with me geocaching over the years up numerous mountains, bush walking along many trails plus along vast stretches of beaches etc while geocaching, he has certainly earned his rest..an amazing companion who never gave up no matter how hard it was for him...a truly remarkeable effort.Looking at the various cache locations I had planned a clockwise route which would take me from home(Ulverstone) along South Road near the pet abbatoirs, on up to the Dial Range Reserve at Penguin, then back along the old coast road back to Ulverstone. Looking at the 7th moveable cache on my list....'TBR 3 minecart'.... in it's posted location I had a pretty good idea on where it would be as I had found other moveables quite near here in the past. Once at gz...a short amount of searching found the little yellow cart hiding behind a large log....the little yellow cart cache was soon in hand and the log signed. The cache and contents are in great condition too. This cache will be set free again in a couple of days time to continue its long journey around the state...will most likely take it further east to enjoy the scenery around Low Head on the eastern side of the Tamar River.A huge thank you to 2y'stassies for giving this cache a ride over on the Spirit of Tasmania so it can begin it's scenic tour of our wonderful state of Tasmania and to Sharnie's Tribe for placing all of the 10 moveable caches so close to home.Let's hope this little cache finds many new great locations on it's travels around Tassie. Many thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for us all to share and enjoy 'geo - jas'....very much appreciated.Having secured the 7th of 10 finds on the list it is now off to find the 8th moveable cache...cheers ST

A quick visit to a popular spot in the central north west coast led to several much needed finds. Caching activity has been a little slow lately so loved it. TFTC and to 2y'stassies for bringing these within range
After a flying visit to Sale our visit to the big island has come to an end so we were heading to Port Melbourne to board the ferry for an over night trip back to Tasmania.
Before leaving Sale we checked our route for GA caches and found there were several in and around Traralgon and surrounding area. We didn't know if we would have sufficient time to pick them all up but of course we had to try.
We stopped in Traralgon to pick up an early morning coffee then headed to pick up Sonic, a moveable GA cache. After finding Sonic we headed to the Railway Reserve and Kick Horse Canyon where we eventually found VW Turbo Bingo. We were amused to see a sign saying No Horses in the reserve. We guess no one will be kicking horses up or down this canyon but it does seem to be an area favoured by mountain bike riders.
TBR 3 - Minecart appeared to be only a little way further into the reserve. This is certainly a lovely area for an early morning walk. So far we had only encountered two groups of walkers, one with dogs and the other without canine companions.
Accurate coordinates and a good hint lead to a quick find of a well hidden moveable. The ducks on the lake came our way hopeful of some easy breakfast. Alas they were out of luck.
Minecart will join the other moveables for an over night ferry trip followed by a tour of Tasmania.

I took a little while to hide this guy as I've only just recovered from yet another cold - that's six this winter already! Let your husband leave his job and become a GP they said, it's glamorous they said. It's all snot and debt in reality. I was out with the elder spiderling today getting some mum-son time and we walked around the Traralgon Railway Reserve in search of a hiding spot for this cache. After waiting for the muggles to pass, we pretended to sit on the boardwalk collecting the coordinates and then snuck around to hide it. TFTC Geo_Jas
After a bad morning of caching in between patients (3 DNFs), I'd just been up the hill to find a trigpoint, licking my wounds, and this cache happened to be on my way down. The hint was perfect and led me straight to it - thanks Trekkers. I'll bring this little fellow back to my region for some miles. TFTC Geo_Jas

After some R&R at Welder HQ, it was time to move on. Geoboy Jr enjoyed trying to find hide ideas for the Minecart... I found this spot while he was happily jumping in muddy puddles.
My first 'movable' find! Looks like I stumbled upon a little gnome party. Came looking for this yesterday while all the muggles were distracted with emergency vehicles clearing a minor car accident down on the corner. But in the rain and fading dusk light my phone ran out of power, and for once I didn't have a torch. Had to come back today.
I again struggled until I expanded the search. This park must cloud up GPS readings. Thank you for the hint, geo_jas. Now where to put them...

Picked up while on a last minute gnome run. I'll do a shuffle so he'll be moved on soon.
Oh look Geo Jas, he's back in Melbourne!!
Co-ords were only at 6-7m accuracy due to very cloudy sky so very specific hint provided
TBR-3 minecart was excited to be flying back to Melbourne and flew out the door again poste haste

The mad bunnies ride again! After work, in the dark, a drive all the way to Mittagong to collect gnomes and other movables. At least it was worth the trip. We came home with 11 movables, many of which we hadn't met met before.

After looking a little unwanted for a few weeks, I decided to move this one and its friends down to Caching in the Bluies Event at Blaxland.
This one is close by another of my caches. OOPS! What a giveaway.
Nicely hidden. Soon to be located in Springwood area.

moved towards Penrith. Get it nearer the mountains
Came to Meadowbank after work to find the moveables here so I can move them on. Got to GZ for this one according to my GPSr which has problems sometimes when I first get to a spot and placed me between 3 trunks so went to the closest one but not there then my readings changed slightly and went to the next one but not there either and finally found in the third one I checked. Thanks for the cache & the hide. Will move somewhere else on the weekend and update the co-ordinates on Monday

Now located neat the SIEC area of Horsely Park in Sydney. Moveable is hanging in a tree and safe from....basically everything. Hint has been updated and a spoiler photo attached. Happy sailing.....

GCA 1112 - 10895. Found in the hands of Sol de Lune.
Nice to grab such a selection of moveables in one hit. Glad to see these still moving around.
TFTC !!
I find that the moveables are a great addition to geocaching. The fun of chasing them around - sometimes finding them in place - sometimes not - puts a bit more interest on the Geocaching Australia side of things. These games also tend to boost the numbers of moveables around - especially in December and January - perfect time to spend a bit more time caching away in Summer and / or holidays. My favourites tend to be the Gnomes - memories of a misspent childhood come to mind.... Lol.

Moving to the location of the trackables event. Don't go looking til then, it won't be there.
Moved along to a quiet reserve with easy path access.
I haven't checked the local drop spot for caches for a couple of weeks so it was a nice surprise when saw that a couple had been deposited.
I'll move it along soon.
P.S. I raid my kids toybox for the moveables races as well.

Whoops, I've had this a tad too long. It's now co-located with GA7004. Two for the price of one folks.
I decided to drop by for a look for this one while on this morning's sojourn and I'm sort of glad I did as it was sitting on the ground in plain sight when I found it at 07:00. Rather than try to find its hidey-hole, I took it for a later relocation so it's no longer at the current coordinates.
