Description

Passing through Arno Bay, it struck me how few GCA caches, and presumably GCA cachers, there were in the area. I've been to a few places like this so I resolved to start a new series of caches; Hen's Tooth caches.

These are caches likely to be found very  rarely.

This particular cache is located under an interesting board walk, not far from Arno Bay. It is not intended to be hard to find, my principle thought when hiding was to ensure it remains findable! It is located on the ground, on the inside of a corner post. Because of the risk of being buried by drifting sand, I have placed some rocks on top and around it. You are looking for a circular Sistema. At the time of hiding it had a log book, a pen, a large spider and a small pig to provide the spider sustenance.

The cache can be reached without leaving the boardwalk providing you don't mind lying flat on your face and reaching under.

FTF congratulations go to  four-fun. Almost three years after it was hidden!

We have had this cache on our must do list ever since it was published in 2014. We enjoy finding nutwood' s caches as he always puts alot of thought into each placement. This morning was time to visit Arnos Bay and look for this cache.

It was a clear morning when we arrived at the carpark and we were surprised that we didn't have to walk far in order to reach the search site. Off we went walking to the morning songs of a number of small birds. Everyone appeared to be busy. With no muggles in sight we began our search. Initially we misinterpreted the hint so found ourselves coming empty handed. Suddenly our error dawned on us. A correction was made and an excited Mrs Y'stassie laid hands on the trophy.

When we opened the log book we were surprise to find that we were only the third team to sign the log after laighside legends and his caching partner Munja. The coordinates were good and the container and contents were in excellent condition.

Thanks for this cache nutwood33. We enjoyed our visit to this beautiful little spot. We hope that more cachers will visit this great little cache. We left the cache tucked safely back into its hiding spot.

Found It!
A nice little spot and a nice little evening walk to GZ. Finding the cache took a bit of effort though. But after finding the right 'corner post' (there are quite a few to chose from!) we found the cache! Oddly we found a blank logbook (with just Nutwood's 'name of cache' writing on it) though so I'm not sure what four-fun found...

Well done four-fun. That's put this cache solidly in the green camp! Now there's only one Hen's Tooth left un-found.

Passing by this way today so took the opportunity to stop here and have a wander around the area Mr. Green
They certainly have put a lot of effort into the board walks around the reserve area.
Cheers & thanks for the hunt Nutwood33

Running a bit early for a flight out of Port Lincoln, I took the opportunity to slip up the road and check on this cache. Most pleased to find that it was exactly as hidden some two years earlier. 200km later, I was back at the airport!
