A late evening walk to the quarry to find the two caches here. I gave it some 10 minutes but with the dark breaking in fast and under torchlight I am not very confident I have exhausted the possibilities. Could still be there.

I think I can see the hidey hole for this cache, but the footwear I had was not conductive for such a search.

Another time methinks

It was very steep going down, and worse returning. Found it easier to leave the track so could get something to grip on underfoot. Got to the query and got fairly close but unable to spot it.

I was in the area to take some photographs. I noted that this cache was only 250m from the top of the mountain and thought it would be an easy grab. It seemed to be an almost vertical track and was difficult both up and down. I found the quarry quite interesting and the geology of the rocks intriguing. There seemed to be veins of iron-rich and copper-rich ores. I would like to see a geologist's opinion of this location.

Because the quarry is in shade most of the time, the sides of the quarry are mossy and slippery and great care is needed to retrieve this cache as a fall would be easy. I was lucky today and had good satellite reception but it may be poor much of the time.

#GA1129 - 13:05; I finally made the trek down the mountain for this cache today. The incentive was to find a cache with an elevation between 700 and 800 metres according to Geocaching Australia. This one fit the bill, so off I went. Can I just say the trek down was much quicker than making the find and then struggling back up to the geomobile again! Once at GZ, I started the hunt, but wasn't having much luck. Took the PAF option, which helped me to narrow the search area, but it still took some time before I managed to make the find. The coords were pretty good, but the GPSr didn't really like the high rock faces which caused it to bounce around a bit. All was good in the end though and I made the ascent quite happily as the day was really starting to warm up. TFTC Camakazyman DancingClan Cerberus

Have been putting this one off for a while, but today, with double dragonZone points on offer, it was time to head and down and make the find. Parked at the top knowing what was coming would be a slow hike down and back to the car. Arrived at GZ and had a bit of look and then decided to head up a little...and there was the cache. Log was signed and I decided to keep heading up as I was so close. No problems and I was soon at the top of the quarry....and heading back to the car.

Thanks for the cache Camakazyman....just hope not to go back there for a while....

I came down to Ainslie looking specifically for the two GCA caches here.

Unfortunately, I didn't find either. This one had me going up and down, up and down.

I'll come back when there's better light. I had my torch and everything was pretty slippery, which made it a little treacherous.

Found the nearby GC cache though, so at least that's something!

When I saw this one hadnt received any "found it" logs, I decided to take a look. I approached it from the north to eliminate a few of them contour lines and guessed correctly as to where I would be heading. Arrived at the scene and soon had the container sorted. So I signed the log for a *FTF* and continued onwards and upwards.
