Description

This is a Lovely Walking Area beside the Lane Cove River, part of the Great North Walk

As you walk along, you will feel a Spring In Your Step and you might even get Near Sugarloaf Hill if you continue on a distance. There are some great views across the water in a few spots near here.

GZ is only 2 or 3 metres off the track (uphill side) but you will find the gps can be out by 10 metres in this area so I have included a spoiler photo in the gallery

I was doing a torchlight walk, having just completed a nearby Night Cache, and realised this one wasn't that much further, so I followed the needle to GZ, and when the distance counter wound down to 2m, I looked around, immediately spotting a likely hidey hole, and quickly uncovered the cache. It really is a lovely walking area, even in the very damp dark. Thanks for the cache blossom*

Another nice cache on a lovely walk. TNLN SL TFTC.

I thought there might be a short cut from Barons Cres. There is but it's not a lovely walking area. Well, not to begin with. But closer to GZ is. Coords worked well for a quick find. Thanks again blossom*.

I was enjoying my walk along the GNW and kept going. Just as well cause I came upon this lovely little hide. I had no problems with reception. The trusty Garmin never fails. I walked straight up to GZ. Nice hide. Thanks for some great caches today.

Came in from the north and the nearby GC cache today. A lot more up and down than I was expecting, but it was indeed a pleasant walk. Not too many muggles on the track this afternoon. Once at GZ I found the cache probably about 10 meters south of where the iPhone wanted me, but as mentioned in the description coverage is a bit patchy here. Hint if you are in the field and can't view the spoiler is it is south of the huge rock that has a long overhang. Thanks blossom*.

On a caching run with Team Merlin and phlphotos

Parked in Park Rd met up with teamMerlin and Splitty Miller JJCC for a full day caching. We walked to the Great North Walk through the park, the council has recently surfaced the road that runs between the 2 sections of the park. It was a nice walk through the park some sections were slippery after the rain. Got to GZ and found both the moveable and then found the traditional. Signed the log in the traditional and replaced as found. Took the moveable with us, Both the traditional cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for the cache blossom*

Decided to walk to the resealed road as it seemed a little easier than the way we got to the 2 caches.

Thank God for the spoiler photo! I wandered around GZ for a while but nothing looked promising and the coords had me 10m into the bush while the cache page said 2-3m. So I checked the spoiler photo and the red gum was very distinctive, but nowhere to be seen :/ Hmmm. Wandering along the main track I managed to eventually spot the familiar tree, about 47m from GZ Wink I've averaged some new coords which I hope help! Yay! Hard earned FTF and another scavenge down.
