Great hunt but really disappointing swag. Looks like a bunch of people had added junk. Even a bottle lid and domino's voucher disappointing for kids
Down on the Gold Coast for work and with a free day of caching today weve headed out to make the most of it. We looked in the wrong wall first but then found the right wall and found the cache. Thanks TH4Find #5887
To beat the highway car park to the Goldie you have to get up at Sparrow fart o'clock if you're traveling from Brisy. Well I left just as the sun was breaching the horizon and got past a traffic incident not long after it happened. Later traffic reports had the delay stretching miles.Coming in from the Pacific Hwy, made one GPS interpretation blunder which cost me 10mins but still managed to arrive here with birds chirping away, none of which were Kookaburras. I heard butchers, cockatoos, a whip bird and magpies which was a wonderful start to the day.Made my way down the slope and when the GPS settled looked at the wall. Somewhere between a short n tall person the hide was quickly uncovered' All good here TH4, thanks for keeping this oldie on life support.
Hopping around the GC today picking up some random target caches - some for challenges, others I have no idea why they are on the list This was an enjoyable addition to the day. TFTC
A lovely spot, we saw a couple of ‘Roos on arrival. However, it is a bit slippery getting now and back up and some of the rocks are loose when getting over to the rock wall. Caution advised. TFTC.
12/4/2023 Find #6046
SaintsMadHouse and I decided to stick to our weekly Wednesday Madness, even with school holidays, and decided to hit up the Gold Coast today.
The particular goal in mind was to grab some of those nice old caches around, and maybe throw in another one or two that happened to be nearby.
Our day was fast coming to an end, so we decided this was the final cache of the day for us before having to head back to adulting life.
Wandering down, I saw what the hint referred to, but SaintsMadHouse had recollections of being here a number of years ago and thought it was actually the other one instead. So I wandered over to the other one, only to decided to dismiss that rather quickly - it just didn’t seem right.
I think it was due to the approach we made today that I had been lucky enough to spy the right one initially, as from another approach this would not be the case.
Anyway back over to where I expected, and where the gpa pointed too, and I made an instant find.
Thanks for the cache TH4.

This weekend, jesswrigley and I had a trip down the Gold Coast, comprised of geocaching Events, a family catchup, a Wave Break Island kayak paddle, and a Nerang mountain bike session ride.
Today, the morning plan was the [Summer Wave (Break) and Paddle Celebration](https://coord.info/GC8ZDPM) Community Celebration Event. A windy and rough paddle, but otherwise an enjoyable island adventure. We took a couple of stops in Labrador and Southport, before catching up with family in Robina. I then managed to duck out for a few hours to Reedy Creek, Burleigh Waters, and Burleigh Heads, attempting to target oldies such as the *Paradise Series*.
This was one of my targeted geocaches this afternoon since it was a nice Q500 oldie. After parking, I suspected where the cache would be along the wall, so I was surprised to find my GPS still pointing me away, which lead me to another secret wall section. It then wasn't long before the cache was found, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks TH4 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. It was nice to have found this oldie 12/2006 hidden cache, of which is one of Queensland's 500 oldest yet active geocaches.

Found this one with ease.. once we braved the rock climbing that is hahah. TFTC
Mrs Woodyrothwell and I stood atop the hill trying to asses if their was an easy way down. Seeing we had already wasted more than a hot minute trying to work that out we just decided a straight trajectory was best.
We didn’t have far to go but it seemed like every rock under foot wanted to move. It was just like we were walking on eggshells which I have to do every month when a daughter breaks a finger nail and starts crying. I just wish there was an app on the phone that would sync their cycles up so I don’t have to walk on eggshells 3 weeks out of 4.
We were being very careful and taking our time because the rocks were slippery to boot. After finding the cache we spent another hot minute looking for the easiest way out. After wasting that we just decided to head back the way we came. tftc

Paper Money
The revolutionary new idea sweeping the streets of Ankh-Morpork.
Moist von Lipwig introduced stamps to pay for the cost of a letter, and inadvertently created a crude but serviceable form of paper currency (described by Mavolio Bent as "the revolutionary unsecured one-penny note") which passes all the standard economic tests: ie, it represents the full economic value of the service provided and may be exchanged for an equivalent value of goods. And, crucially, people had now been conditioned by Moist to believe a piece of paper does have a monetary worth, far beyond that of the paper it's printed on.

I’m down the coast caching with CaptainVimes today. After finding the paradise series, we headed out here for a quick find. Thanks for the cache
I started my day in Mudgeeraba and worked my way to Bonogin… that’s when I realised this oldie was pretty close by…
So after telling Renaldo where to go we arrived within 15 metres of GZ… I just had to wait out a muggle family who were where I wanted to be…
Once the coast was clear I made my way there… but thinking I knew better than Geepers I didn’t go to the correct wall… needless to say I spent a little while searching before I realised my mistake and soon after had the cache in hand… replaced the snap lock bag and while returning the container noticed the clue everyone else mentions… hard to believe I’m the first visitor here in 2021…
I did get quizzed by a local while heading back to the car if I walk this street often…

Thanks for this one took me awhile to find this one . Not sure if all of these Caches are still in play. It started raining so decided this one will be it until tomorrow. There was a wallaby grazing on the mowed section when I got here today.
Heading home from a family gathering in Ballina I had set a few target caches for Charli and I to collect. I had a tree climb, a couple of oldies and one to fill a space in my d/t grid. We still had to continue my trad a day and my cache a day challenges, which is now starting to become a difficult challenge due to fitting it in with my work and the lack of local caches. We had 4 caches lined up around the gold coast area and 1 in the Brisbane area, we were hoping all would be present.
This was our second cache for the trip home and a short walk from our park saw us reach GZ with no problem. Wasn’t sure what to expect here but I bit of searching and a little push from the hint did see me searching in a few areas. After 10 minutes we found the cache all dry and grabbed the clue. With the log signed and cache returned I was pretty stocked that I nabbed another old cache. It was then off to hit another from our list for today.
So happy to have found this one, cache is in good order and dry, thank you placing this one here for us to enjoy.

Awesome hiding spot, don't give it a level 3 for nothing... Keep looking for that hidden wall
For some reason we hadn't got back to this one after a DNF ages ago. It was on the list for the Mystery at the Museum so we decided to go for it. Got stabbed by a branch that ripped half my arm up and Geowife sprained an ankle but we got the cache and the clue! And yes, we were met by a female Kookaburra, that was then koined by its mate and they laughed at our woes. TFTC TH4.
Found with Dora the Explorer! and Phil Serenity. Usually this type of hide causes me problems. TFTC
Kestal and I were on our way from Toowoomba to Tweed Heads for a CITO and had a list of target caches...this being one of them due to its age. A lovely quiet neighbourhood here. Headed to GZ and after a few unsuccessful passes along the wall we finally spotted the cache. TFTC TH4.
Headed down to the GC with Eskies5 to go to the CITO a little further south then here. A few others were added to the list. We started searching and we both went here there and everywhere with no luck. Eventually we got and we spotted what we came for. TFTC TH4
Nice early morning walk. Found it browsing through the bush. Had a handy tool to help out.
Cool spot to explore . Took a few minutes but then we spotted it ... head height
We had come down for a drive with the SP’s to pick up a few caches that we both needed. We dropped into their place and headed down to the Goldie, the 4andos are really thinking that we spend more time on the South Side than our side these days! How long till the kids finish school?
Our first stop wasn’t a cache, it was Maccas to fuel up on coffees and food. Now all of us have something warm in our bellies we were ready to make some cache finds, well that was until Mrs 4ando broke her sunnies, without them there would be vision impairment all day. We were now parked in another super servo to pick up some new ones, now we were off again. We parked the car and saw some little geo-barkers up on the veranda and we started to wonder if they were going to cause us grieve. Seems the hot day had taken a toll on them as they didn’t give two hoots about us.
We walked down to GZ, and divided up to make the find, it was Mrs SP that eventually made the find here. Our names were added and we continued on.

Sunday. Out on the dark side today with 4ando in their geomobile to collect some caches we’d targeted for various reasons. We found this cache right where our GZ arrow was pointing to. We were expecting something a bit iffy to be putting our hands into, but we found that we got to the cache with no problems, found the cache container quickly! (yay) and had our names in the log post-haste. We were needing this cache as it was one that made it before a cut off date – and so qualifies for a certain challenge out there. Who’d have thought that placing a cache way back when, would be needed 13 years down the track?! So glad we got this cache today. No problem with barking dogs for us.
This was the 1st of 5 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***TH4***, for showing us this place.

The locals spotted something in a tree so we waited until they left and got to searching. The boys searched low and i searched high until i looked back in the same place the third time and there it was. the boys left some planes
Found this with Mum as 'Jess & Caro'. She is now Carø and I now have my own geocaching profile so we are sorting my logs for caches we found together. TFTC!
We are in the area for a few nights and this cache hit my radar due to its DT rating. With a bit of spare time we made our way up the hill and I parked where suggested. It's a bit swampy and slushy here after a good downpour overnight but soon enough the cache was found and names added to the log. It's all dry in there.
Thanks for this cache, TH4!

The access is a bit overgrown and I needed to look at the correct angle, but a fun find. TftC.
Took me a while to slowly eliminate all the possibilities. Almost lost my footing a few times. Found it in the end. 2nd find of the day to go with 2 DNFs. (I was 1 for 3 before this, so extra glad to make the find.) TFTC. XN SL.
I had noticed the previous 4 DNFs on this cache but reading between the lines (and taking into account the (in)experience of the prior searchers) I had a good feeling that the cache was still there to be found despite the last find being over 11 months ago. The GPS took us to a likely looking spot and we set about the hunt. Based on the terrain level I started hunting in a more inaccessible part of GZ but within moments Swellerfungus has spotted the cache in a far more accessible location. Not sure why the others hadn't managed to find this one at all. TFTC
Canada Day caching! Seffnjarah had a plan to mix caching with a series of 3 Canada Day celbrations across the Gold Coast and Brisbane. We left home at 5am and headed down the coast.
This one was far simpler than expected, adn we can only wonder why there aren't more finds on this cache. Nice container size, in a nice hidey hole.
Plenty of inds and a few DNF's today. Thanks to the CO's for the caches.

Funny enough a Kookaburra greeted us sitting on the fence when we pulled up like he was showing us the way. That was special. Again had to park on the grass footpath. Again no easy access for me to go down to search area. Don't mind if I can't get up close to GZ sometimes. But to not even be able to get just a little way in is disappointing. My friend searched in every nook & cranny. Will be back with more recruits to help me.
Living up to it's name ... we were greeted ironicly by a friendly local kookaburra sitting on the fence like it was showing us the way. Again not accessible for my friend, having no formal entrance. So leaving her sitting in the car, I ventured down to check out the GZ. A bit daunting wondering to work out where on the wall ... or maybeven it wasn't this wall. Abandoned search this time & will come back with reinforcements.
Looked on Tuesday and today but could not find. There seems to be a lot of places where it could be.
Tried to find this last week and came back with Aussiemates to bag this and the clue code today. Thanks for this series.
Out with Goodlookerz today for a spot of caching.
I got brave and found the cave

Wow this was a tough one, I nearly gave up before having another quick look and there it was, a bigger cache than I expected. Lizards galore around here.
Saw some kookaburras too!

Heading south with OrionJ and trying to add some Smilies to our map along the way. This was the next one to take our interest. Parking nearby we headed in the direction of GZ which was a nice green area. After a bit of a search a cache was found. After adding our names to the log we carefully made our way back out. TFTC
Next up and soon myself and LHE Duo arrived at this cache. We headed down into this nice little green area and soon were navigating our way around to GZ. There were a couple of options for where the cache could be, and a little check of a couple soon resulted in a find. Getting our names into the log and soon replaced, being careful not to slip at all. Soon back to the car and along the road for the next stop.

This was my second find today during my jaunt through this quite hilly but picturesque suburb. I arrived at ground zero for this cache not long after leaving the last just down the street (or should i say up and down the street? did i mention it's quite hilly here lol) and on my arrival ipod was pounding away in my ears the song the contender by The mark of cain. being in a hilly area with quite a few trees around, the gps bounced back and forth quite a bit. I looked at my surroundings, and noticed a lot of potential hiding spots. I noticed the d/t rating and thought hmmm maybe i should check the hint. initially it confused me as nothing around me matched the hint. Then a lightbulb turned on above my head, and i repositioned myself, and soon spotted the cache.
The log was signed and clue noted down while angus played his solo to let there be rock. let there be rock, indeed!
thanks to th4 for the cache. quite enjoying this series so far

Couldn't find it and was a little dangerous lifting rocks and walking all over rocks . All cache in this series GPS has been out by 6 to 10m , I will attempt another time but may need to be replaced
After picking up a few things at the shops we (me, geoBF and geodog) decided to grab some steps and a cache.
We parked close by and headed down. Geodog was enjoying herself running around sniffing things, but obviously wasn't paying all that much attention as she managed to come to a complete stop standing on the back of one annoyed bearded dragon who was obviously just trying to soak up some sun! I got the bf to hold the dog while I tried to coax the lizard away. He begrudgingly took off up a tree (and geodog finally noticed what she had trod on!)
So off we went to find the cache! After looking in a few wrong places, we ventured away from where my phone was saying it was and found it. Just as the bf grabbed the cache, a nearby kookaburra started laughing! What a well suited cache! clue noted, cache replaced and off we went! TFTC!
