After yesterdays big day out a quieter day today coupled with the drive home, tackled a little more artwork and the odd cache that came along. still spotted a reptile or two. Perfect Di, Mattycat and Jack the monkey made up the searchers, however found it either signed and stamped or various combinations, some supplies were used some old containers replaced some doubles were found and some maintainance done as well, once we finished the art work we made the odd leg stretch to collect one or two on the way home, nice to finally cross these artworks off our list

This was our second for the day before tackling the artwork, lovely views and a short stroll saw a large brown snake on the path, it eventually moved over then ducked into a low bush as it noticed our presence,so watchful footsteps here but found the cache safe and sound

Another fishy day on the syp.

We all had a stamp or a pen and whoever found it first stamped or signed for all of us. ...
Signature may be one of our stamps or FMD, froghoppin matty Di, or frogs of mass destruction, friggin mad dudes?
The froghoppin duo, Mattycat Purrfect Di, Jack the Monkey, and a metric craptonne of big brown snakes, along with a shingleback or two, all found your caches!

It was a great bonus to find a couple of traditional caches amongst the trail ones.
This was one - and the views are worth the walk Big Grin Even if we did have to dodge beach guardians on the way Surprised

And a range of containers, everything from bucket to test tube, only a couple of those rusty little minty tetanus tins, some berocca tubes but no nanos! Quite a few of the trail ones had gone missing, like the fish that got away, but some handy tackle supply stores along the way had us rejigging our lines and maintaining said caches ??
All part of the service!

All together a fun caching Tuesday.

Take care out there, have fun in 2023, a cache a day keeps the boredom away ??

Keep a safe distance - cache the countryside Big Grin

Great of all those placing quality caches out and about around the country areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game fun, and interesting Cool

We do appreciate if you actually did read all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, or so we've been told! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Wink Maybe if I worked out where it is I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and we can put an end to these long logs !!!

Big Grin [:o)] Wink

The end. For now...

19-Dec-22
Jimmy and Goldy returned to Marion Bay for another round of sightseeing as well as caches, going for quality caches over quantity.

We made the nice walk over and a quick find was made.

Cache in good condition.

Thanks for going to the effort to prepare, hide and submit this geocache for me to find, another smiley for my geomap.

Replaced see photos!
Parked up and made the walk out to HZ, knowing the cache was broken I bought a replacement to keep it alive

With 2.5 days free and nothing to do, what better than to head to the yorke peninsula for a few days. I made a plan of trying to clean up majority of the caches on the peninsula going from cache to cache. Managed to come away with only a few left and 247 finds for the few day trip.

Thanks for the cache

Nice location, didn't have a replacement container unfortunately. TFTC

22-Apr-21
Found while out grabbing some non powertrail caches. Found after a short search but container is badly damaged and in need of repair. Unfortunately didn’t have any things to help do so. TFTC.

Can the next catchers bring a new log and container, the secondary container is now in pieces, it broke apart as I opened it and I had nothing with me to fix the situation

16-Jan-21
This is the last of the 10+ year old cache I not found on Yorkes... Although I didn't do the walk not long after this was published! hahaha
Anyways, I couldn't not find this oldie.
Last time here, the carpark was chockers and cars stretched down the road also.... there was a working bee on... So we left it.
Stopping today, there were just a few intrepid surfurs doing the 900m walk to the beach.
A very nice walk, that is not taxing at all, as it is mostly a flat and hard track, until the last 110m, when go off track.
Spent about about 15 mins looking for the cache, which was eventually found half buried.
It is in a sad way, but at least the inner container is holding tight. Alas I had left my cache bag of bits at home, and could not find anything in car to bring with me to help.
I hope the next finders bring a new container, as it is a great spot, and an oldie to keep going.
I disturbed a cpl of years of cobwebs on the unloved cache too. Shame more don't come here...

Planned a big day for today getting ourselves orientated to the roads around the Yorke Pennisula. Left our accommodation at 6.30 for the almost 3 hour drive to Marion Bay where we had a bite to eat before starting on some power trails. The puzzles had all been solved over the past year since we decided we were going to visit this area. All puzzles were found today. we left a few TB's scattered here and there as well. It was a lovely day, quite hot once the sun burnt off, the flies were very annoying especially those that felt like they were biting. Saw a solitary kangaroo and a few lizards. Did a couple of traditionals to break up the trails. Roads were very quiet with probably an average of 1 car per hour while we were caching.

Having a break in the power trails with a nice walk in the sun to this one. No one else around, light wind made the walk lovely. Container needs some tlc. tftc

I took plenty of photos despite the overcast conditions. It was a relief to be off the power trails and out walking for a while. Thanks.

On this occassion, I am doing a generic log. I have travelled from Queensland to meet up with Muff1 for a Geocaching extravaganza on the beautiful Yorke Peninsular. Our goal to Cache, Cache and Cache. Each day our "finds" have been growing in number, some days more productive then others. We have also been careful to take time to appreciate the natural wonder of the areas we have visited. The variety of caches was interesting, some very clever, some the quick grab they were designed to be. A big thank you to all of the dedicated Cache placers who have made this possible.

31-May-16
First we must appologise for the generic logs.

We ask what type of cheese.

We came to Yorke Peninsular with Speedmistress who hails from Queensland to cache our little hearts out and this we are doing.

We solved loads of puzzles prior to coming and with all the earth, multi, trads and puzzles there are here we were never lacking in variety.

When we found caches that needed repair we have done our best to do what was possible, unfortunately we have now rum out of spare containers, so no more repairs can be done. We have enjoyed the scenery, the walks, the animal life and the challenges that was encountered while traveling the Peninsular. Not all the caches have been attempted due to time restraints but those have been earmarked for future visits.
We also would like to thank Speedmistress for supplying our geocaching chariot.
A huge thanks to all the cache owners for placing these caches for us to enjoy.

No snakes sighted today

This is a great walk along the cliff top. The views along the way are spectacular. The warmth of the sun and light breeze enhanced the walk. Once at GZ it took about 10minutes of hunting before tha cache was located. UV attack had made the lid of the container brittle and some pieces had broken out and the original log book showed signs of having been saturated on numerous occasions and repeatdely dried out. The paper was quite brittle and the log unuseable. However another small container had been placed inside the initial container with some paper inside which we were able to sign. Some longer term maintenance is certainly required. Thanks purple_turtle_strikes_again for the caceh and for bringing us to this superb location.

Another trip to lower YP and a few more caches crossed off the list. Still a lot to go.

4054th total find at around 11:55

A great walk along the cliffs and amongst the dunes. As others have said, the cache is sodden so we did a spot of maintenance. (Dunno why the previous finders didn't.)

Took: Disposable camera - it's damaged and corroded beyond repair.
Left: Some log sheets & a micro container.
Thanks purple turtle strikes again for the cache

These dunes were amazing. Did find the cache but like the previous logs the contents are saturated so unable to sign.

Great view but it's very wet- needs maintenance

Sorry for the late log
Not sure why, but Jimbo and I have done this cache a few years ago while touring the bottom end of the Pennisula. Not sure why we never logged. Really suprised to see it on out list still. Remembered the nice walk to stretch our legs after driving all day.

Cheers and thanks for the cache

A spectacular walk on a glorious day. TFTC. Very sodden!

19-Apr-11
This cache is in need of urgent attention. Virtually impossible to write a note because book is soaked through.

12-Mar-11
The start of our walk was a little delayed as geoP heard a hissing noise coming from one of the vehicles parked in the carpark. A quick yell out to some muggles close by to confirm that it was in fact their Range Rover that had a puncture. We did our good deed for the day and helped them do a quick repair job. For our troubles we were given a bottle of white wine. Now off to start this walk to GZ over the rocks and sand with geoD spotting the cache.

The actual container was very waterlogged and the log book soaked.

Found by Mary & David at 1125. Took ages to find this cache. In the months since the previous find, the plants have all grown, and the cache was very well covered as a result. Finally spotted it on the fourth pass, which was a last resort before giving up. The sunshine was lovely, but the flies were awful. A lovely beach here, and totally deserted. Our thanks to purple turtle strikes again.

A very pleasant stroll out to this one. Just a shame that the camera was totally soggy and seized up.

Found@13:00, we saw dolphins earlier and 5 surfers in the water catching the occasional small wave. The cache was safe & sound in it's new container but the cardboard wrapper was still damp, managed to wind it on, "click" and wind it again. Took - a picture, Left - an image we hope Smile

Enjoyed the walk to this one, and glad to find the small container after a DNF at Freddo's just south of here.
I'm not sure if the camera is working, didn't seem to make any noises that a camera like this should.

As I was leaving I nearly stepped on a 3 foot long snake only 20m from the cache. I managed to get him to say cheese as well.

Thanks purple turtle.

Was looking for an easier cache here but that was not happening... Nice walk to the cache and lovely beach area... Some surfers were trying their luck but not too many 'big' waves about while we were there.... Dazzatron replaced the container and log, and we were on our way...

Found at 14:45. Only me and the dog came - the others went for a swim, and Em stayed in the car. Took two photos, 12 left.

Rocky Glen Grommets actually took 2 photos here - one of Grom 2 and one of Grom 2, Bob Grom and Mum Grom - the beach fishermen didn't pay us any attention - great idea - we enjoyed it. Visited late in the day and it was a great view of the sun lowering into the sea.

A beautiful walk in the late afternoon. Formby Bay was looking fantastic and the surf was rolling in. Once I made the trek had the cache quickly in hand. Tried to photo myself with the bay in the background, not sure how it will turn out. No swaps, thanks purple turtle.

19-Apr-07
A late afternoon walk across the cliff top and into the sand dunes. Waves were rolling in beautifully and the surfers in the water were getting some great rides in.

There is no chance of this cache ever getting muggled being as far off the track as it is!

11-Mar-07
Had arrived at the carpark the previous day and with little geo pirate in tow and the heat of the day combined with the distance we decided not to attempt this one until the following evening.
So at 8:45pm we set off to say "chesse" with flashlights in hand we made the walk to GZ after a short hunt around in the dark we had the cache in hand and took turns to say "chesse" Thanks very much for a nice night hike along the cliff tops.

11-Mar-07
The only thing that could have made this better was if there had been no cloud cover and it had been a starry night.
I believe that would have made it truly amzing. It was still a great walk but watch that right turn at night or the first step will be a doozy..
Left our record so hope others come soon so we can see the result.

11-Mar-07
Found after some excerise, we didn't think we needed that much.
Left mug shot.

After doing the other cache felt it was too hot to go after this one. About 37 I believe.
Decided to come back and do it as a night cache.
