Found one of the decoy caches, and was climbing around on the structures that held up the bridge, but couldn't find it. Maybe cos its disabled. Thought Id check it out anyway, as Yugeo had success only a few days ago.

This one showed up on the GPS as we were heading to the "Stream Buffer", decided to try for the find, even though it was disabled.

Found one of the decoys, and then the final after a 10min search. Have posted a picture of the cache logsheet to date, with the owners permission.

Still had the coord and was in the area so I had another go.
I found 3 duds in total - was that all of them? Wink. One of them seemed to be hinting a bit 'far' from the truth - Hmmm! Twisted.
Cheers bigfatrob - M@

I found one of the decoys and then with help from a friend located the cache.

Aaaargh... Found the first dummy very quickly. Was working out what to do next, when the duck feeding muggles arrived.
So here I am hiding under a bridge (like a troll) with muggles feeding ducks above me.
Quietly sneaked out and left...

We looked for ages in this very public place but didn't really enjoy providing free entertainment for all the locals overlooking the area.
Finally found a cache on the ground, that was good enough for us! It now has a signed log inside. We've come a long way and if we find a cache we call it a Find. There's no such thing as a fake cache! Thanks.

Loved feeding the Pukekos who enjoyed our homemade biscuits and didn't want to share them with the ducks!

Checked cache... still there

Went to look for this one but too many muggles trying to fish off the bridges god knows what they were fishing for as there was a tyre and other junk around so surpised if any fish there.
Anyway Did find two of the decoys quite easily, but without creating too much suspicion I didn't look too much longer.
If someone asked what I was doing, I would say I am an engineer looking at the bridge structure. Nice stainless work there!!
May come back again at quieter time but don't like my chances of being muggle free.

Cheers.

Glad to see I'm in good company. This was the only DNF today whilst I cleaned up all the caches in the Eastern area I hadn't done, so B****R. Found several fakes but not the real thing. That message about being very close has me intrigued but not sure when I'll head back this way now. TFTC so far.

There must have been nearly 100 quaker jacks camped around GZ who exploded into the air when I arrived and gave me quite a start.

I don't know about this one. Looking at the description and the past logs it is obviously a bit sneaky and so I got quite sneaky myself but not sneaky enough apparently.

The GPSr put me at one end but I found teaser at the other??

I searched for a long time, getting into some places that BFR would struggle to reach and all. God knows what any locals cwho happened to be watching thought?

I finally slipped and tore a couple of chunks from my arm on a nail. I abandoned the search when the blood would not stop flowing. I figured that with all the quacker jack by-products around it was not wise to put the hands where all but the brave or foolhardy would fear to reach.

It is a quite a long haul from home so I won't be rushing to return, but next time I pass??? maybe?

We had to visit a place nearby so we decided to concentrate our days caching around this area. This cache was first on the list...
After a while of unhelpful searching Razz we were turning up nothing so made a quick phone call to ZorkV and he put us on the right track. It turned out that we had been close...really close....aaargh! However we did think that the clues were the wrong way around....
Nice fun (and frustrating!) cache.
Thanks for the fun

Decided to have a look for this one while stopped at the inlaws a mere 140m away. Found the "fake", but not the actual cache. Another day with more time perhaps...

Didn't find it again on a second visit. Found Navigull's diversions though, but that's not enough, the cache is the prize. HELP!!!!!!!!!!

11-Feb-07
Was the 10th and final find for the day of caching.
Visited spot with BFR, had to wait for locals to finish duck feeding before any search was started. Took a thought-out search to uncover the cache. Nice spot Smile
Cheers BFR

A Challenge indeed, Had to give up after half an hour cause we had another appointment.

A challenging cache indeed, despite the helpful hints at cache site (or maybe not so helpful - depends on your sense of humour).
Had the company of a blue heron for the muggle watchout to distract, but only one muggle crossing this Sunday late afternoon.
Cache hunt took 20 minutes, flat out hunting all the time. Felt we really earnt this one. Thanks Bigfatrob, looking forward to more challenges.

Arrived at about 6.55 am thinking we would have the place to ourselves - wrong! There were already two people under the bridge and there was no mistaking Mr Zork in his usual caching attire. He and Lone Scotsman (nice to meet you)were on their way South. From previous logs I knew this was going to be a tricky hide and I was not disappointed!
Many thanks

Quick call in with Zork at 6.30 am before going south and east . Found on site by Zorgon, Great to meet you

29-Jan-07
I got to the bridge, but I was being watched by muggles so had to abort the mission. Will try again.

29-Jan-07
Had a good look, and found two promising hints. However, after a long look, I found there was no further hint on the cache page and I was stuck. It is a bit frustrating for out-of-town cachers to not have a decent hint available. Hopefully I'll be able to have another go next time I'm up in Auckland and a decent hint is available. Cheers Gav

Ducked and dived between muggles but picked up all quickly. Very exposed site. We will have to see if Navigul is humoured by it.
Thanks BigfatRob for the challenge.
Cheers TT

Searched for 20 minutes, found two interesting objects but not the cache. Came under scrutiny from a nearby balcony so called it off.

Home for a cigar before taking kids out to play.
