Took a bit to find, but when found I found two containers. Log is a bit damp and pen wouldn't write. Not to worry. What a beautiful place.
Quick side quest on our way to rainbow today. Nice little spot. Thanks for bringing us here.
Sweet-Sour I found your cache Salmon Lookout on 16/9/2023, 2:35 pm. This is my find 5987 and find # 5 today. Found it after a brief search. Further past the tree to the big rock. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
Suspicious pile of rocks. Quick find! Thanks for bringing us to this awesome spot and for the hide!
I have found myself with great pleasure to have found your cache. I congratulate u on a fine hinding spot
Cache found eventually after some searching around.. the geo trails give it away if you get too stuck.. all looks to be good with the container. Thanks for the hide!
On my way from Canberra to North Queensland with a few detours for shires. TFTC.
Great spot. Was surprised to see lots of houses up here.

Had to come and get this oldie. All is good with this one. Now off to another one. Giving it a heart for being one of the oldies still in play
Awesome views and great spot for a picnic. Badly needs mowing though.

We tried this one a little while ago when we could not access the road to the lookout. On our way back home from Rainbow Beach we stopped by this morning and with the helpful hint found the cache. All good with this one log signed and replaced as found for the next finders. Thanks for showing us this place sweet-sour.
27/2/21 Find #4584
Today was a Sunny Coast outing for Fangsoki, Pprime, Crew153 and I, gathering caches in the Oldest 1000.
With only one person here at the lookout when we arrived (who was quick to leave as we made our way over), we had a nice quiet area for a search today. First we found the wait-a-while, drawing blood to make today a genuine adventure , then shortly after we found the cache. However there was no salmon to be found! ??
Thanks for the cache Sweet-Sour.

Out today for a run around the Sunny Coast hunting oldies, with Fangsoki, Crew 153 and 1MinnieMoo. An awesome day poking into some nooks and crannies of the area and finding some outstanding views. Here was a great spot, with a great view.
Thanks cooroy scouts adopted by sweet - sour for entertaining me at this location.

Pprime put out a late call on Friday for passengers for his quick run around a few targeted caches on the Sunshine Coast. Fangsoki, 1MinniMoo and I put up our hands.
this was the next on the list and we parked in the parking area near another car. We were surprised to see a lone female standing near the picnic shelter who picked up a notebook and departed as we approached.
Pprime and 1MinniMoo round the cache while i was checking out the tomato like fruit on a spiky vine nearby. We were not game to taste test them but they looked interesting.

You never fail to deliver with the views Sweet Sour. In the area for the local strawberry farm and swung by to pay respects to the warrrior on guard. Couldn’t resist this stunning outlook, even when it’s shrouded in mist. We were greeted and followed this sweet gentle herd in and out. Another top spot you’ve made know to us, thank you for this cache.
Found this one this is our second attempt very glad had hubby today he got past the sharp prickles and located thos hidden gem under a strong foundation. We left a knicknack signed log and put it back. What a beautiful view we remembered a picknic this time.
There is quite the number of cooroy scouts and Scrub Bull geocaches around the Sunshine Coast and hinterland that I'd quite like to get, but really make no effort to. The joy over being a couple hours drive from home is a big contributor. But Salmon Lookout has been a bit higher on my list. Maybe because it promises simply to be at a lookout and I like lookouts! But again, it's a detour and I'd never made it here.
Yesterday Fangsoki reached out and proposed a trip up this way today. Yeah, I'm keen! So it was a long drive in the Pajero, northbound. After leaving Doggrel Trees there was some internet reception again and I recalled this icon on the map. And it's only a kiloemtre or two detour from the route Google maps wants us to take. In the passenger seat, I tell Fangsoki to turn left, not right and head uphill.
It was a nice drive up. On and off rain all day meant as we climbed, it was evident we'd enter the cloud by the top. I was surprised there are houses and horses up here. And then very surprised after we went through the gate to see a fire tower too! Oh how I wish I could've climbed it - similar to those at Mount Allen and Jimna.
Fangsoki held back as I trotted towards the geocache. My phone had me rather near a big tree, but the hint had me in the bush a bit further. I went there and quickly found the new geocache in good condition. Glad to see it revitalised after so long likely missing. On my way back to the car the view opened up a little and it made me feel like this would be a good stop for lunch on a day when I had lunch with me.
Back down the road I am positive Fangsoki drove through the gate trying to splash mud on me. Thankfully, to minimal success. Onwards and northwards for us now. Thanks for showing me this fantastic place, cooroy scouts and Sweet-Sour

Found this cache today whilst visiting the Salmon Lookout. A nice clean cache with only one entry dated 17/7/18. Signed the log book and replaced the container back to its original position.

Found where it should have been and double checked to make sure it was right but the jar wasn't there
The attribute says 'wheelchair accessible' but there was nothing I could see, even with scrambling around a bit.

Decided to have lunch in Kin Kin today and go home the long way.
Just had to show Barb the Doggrel Trees, don't think she had seen a tree so large, especially alive let alone dead.
As we were going past, thought I better call in as there was a couple of DNF's on it. Low and behold some thieving muggle has lifted it. Just as well I always carry spares.
Cache replaced
Watch out for the waitawhile

Wait a while stuck in my hair plus anticipation of a snake or spider as I searched does equal a happy experience. Will try again one day.
This was the twenty-thirs of twenty-four finds on a mini geocaching holiday with my awesome geopartner WallabyTim. This was a cache Wallaby had found previously but a spot he wanted to bring me to for the amazing view. The grass had been freshly cut and smelled divine as I took in Lake Cootharaba and the sand dunes we can see near home. Our adventure was drawing to an end. Being on top of the world was a great was to cap off an amazing trip. TFTC
Glad it was lunch time when we arrived here to make the find as it is a great spot to spend some time. Thanks Sweet-Sour. .
I had it in the caching plan to come to Gympie today to do the (13) new ones that this CO had placed. I contacted Keith (Sweet-Sour) to see if he wanted to come for a drive as I anticipated he had at least two of his hides to maintain and he accepted the offer. Checked the internet last night and saw a new hide in Maryborough and 8 more from Sweet-Sour. Apologies for cut and paste logs as I have a lot to write.
38 hides in the plan today. 36 finds, 1 did not attempt as I did not have a ladder with me, and one
( The emperor ) I did not go out of my way to attempt as it was now dark on our return to Gympie.
No DNF's but came awfully close to one or two but persistent paid off. Left home at 0545 and arrived at the residence of Sweet-Sour at 0615. 486klmn drive today, home to home, and arrived home at 2000hours. Long day but there were many breaks along the way. We drove from Gunalda to Maryborough to Wolvi then to Cooran then to Kin Kin then to Mapleton then Amamoor then back to North of Gympie.
After finding Warrior No. 3 this was next on the list. Parked outside the fenced area and walked down to area of GZ. Had two young cows very interested in what we were up to. Very good hide. Had to let the GPSr settle in the tree cover. TFTC Sweet-Sour.

Great drive along the ridge and had a picnic at the lookout with amazing views before starting our search. Coords were spot on for us and the cache was soon found. TFTC Sweet-Sour
We had decided that we may take a little drive and grab the caches in this area.
As we made a sharp right turn off the sealed road, we made our way up the hill on a well formed gravel road. As we ascended the hill the cloud cover started to roll in.
We made our way to the lookout but were disappointed with the view. The fog had now rolled in and we were lucky if we could see 10m in front of us. This did not deter us however from searching for the cache.
There has been plenty of rain in the last few days and the rocks and the ground was slippery as a result. On making my way over a pile of several rocks a closer examination was had and the cache was soon in hand.
The log was signed and returned to the cache and the cache returned exactly as found.
All is good with this cache.

We made it to the lookout after a long drive up the mountain. Good practice for E on her learner's. We almost "came a gutser" when we met a garbage truck coming the other way but luckily managed to stay on the road and not slide off the edge of the cliff.
While the others admired the view - a bit hazy but could still recognise the major landmarks - I ducked into the bush. The clue was rocks, surely there's not many rocks around here.... famous last words...there are tonnes of rocks, boulders, all sorts, from the edge of the bush down the steep slippery slope to where there was a weird noise emanating - maybe a cow stuck in a fence? Not sure...[:?]
Through the barbwire vine and wait-a-whiles and all manner of spikey vines I went, too far down then back up and finally spotted it under the ledge of a big rock not actually far in after all.
Took blue frog and 20c, left one legged penguin and scrabble O.

A few finds today with the geofamily (Jonesgang, spineyleafinsect and mirikochan).
Second cache for the day, and again one the spiders were spotted, I was in charge of retrieving the well known container. TFTC sweet-sour

Our family loves having holidays at Noosaville, we find plenty here to see and do, mostly involving water. We headed up to Cootharaba to visit friends, but decided to take a nice country drive out to this lookout along the way.
After stopping at the lookout and deciding that living here wouldn't be our thing (too far to drive for a bottle of milk ), we wandered over for a quick find.
This cache adds to our total of 2001 smilies. Thanks cooroy scouts & sweet - sour for showing us this spot.
Feel free to discover our trackable code TGQNRV

Out on an adventure with Daron.Baker and stopped by the lookout. Decided to check if there was a cache here. Found it after a bit of a look. All in order. Bag has a hole but all dry. Thanks for the cache!
Arrived as it began to shower but the cloud lifted with perfect timing. Another fabulous find and discovery of a new local area.
In preparation for a trip to Grandma & Grandad's yesterday, I perused the caches around the area looking for our next outing. This looked like the perfect location; multiple caches, picnic opportunity, lookout and no walking required. The family would be pleased!
An pleased they were. We enjoyed a lovely gourmet picnic lunch and took in the view. The kids marvelled at the nearby tower and the cows in the field. A great time was had by all.
I am happily report that the cache is safe and well. The last group probably made the mistake of not going far enough into the jungle. A mistake we almost made until we spotted a BIG rock. And lo, the cache was found.
TFTC Sweet-Sour. This is a little gem of a spot!

No luck with this one today. the only thing we found under rocks were scorpions. Nice views though.Thx for the tour.
T-Tech, Brother Colin and I are camping at Brooyar for the weekend, and today BC and I are each hunting a big milestone! But first we needed a few finds to get the numbers right, so a bit of a long road trip was taken around this area.
After getting the nearby Warrior, we headed out here so T-Tech and I could get this one done. Love the fire tower, but a pity we couldn't climb it The cache was hard won, as the GPS struggled and the wait-a-while vines were awful! Eventually found and signed. TFTC, Sweet-Sour.

Caching today in the heat wasn't easy
Not the easiest of finds with the GPSR jumping all over the place under the cover of the trees and the wait awhile vine waiting ready to hold you up
The cache is dry and in good condition [^]

Was not optimistic about our success today as the ongoing saga with the gps batteries left us with only my phone to guide us (which is usually less accurate than the gps). In the end it led us straight to it! Had the place to ourselves when we arrived but when we emerged from the bushes there were people at the picnic table. TFTC!
Having found Warrior No. 3 back down the road, I took the advice in it's description and came looking for this cache. After negotiating the cows sitting on the track, we arrived at teh lookout to find we were not alone...some muggles were there having a Birthday Picnic. Fortunately I was obscured by the fall of the land so I was able to go about finding the cache in peace. It took a little while and I collected a few scratches along the way but I was successful. After signing the log, I collected the Trackable because it had been here long enough.
Thanks Sweet-Sour for keeping this cache going.

Doing the two up the mountain today and this one turned into a great hour, firstly i met one of the contractors manning the fire tower, after a brief chat he allowed me to climb to the top with him, WOW! what an amazing view from up there, we had a chat, i explained what i was up to, im sure the novelty of his job would soon wear off.
On to find the cache under a rock in an area with a lot of rocks........ this one had me scratching around for a good while but i finally found it.
I replaced the log book bag as it had a big hole in it, sharpened the pencil and added a couple of Aussie animal cards.
This one gets a Favourite from me.

My final cache for the day while in the area.
Thankfully, the area was totally abandoned when I arrived. I was a little confused about how to access GZ - but I eventually got there in the end. The cache was very well hidden - it actually looked a little TOO sus - so I made it LESS sus
The cache itself is in good condition. I dropped in a trackable to move it along.
Some great views to be had at sunset here today - and I took some photos. Now to get home.

Piloted the lancer to the car park and walked over to admire the views. A bit dark to the southeast, but hopefully the rain will go around me this afternoon Would love to see the view from the tower.
This one has been on my list for a few years now, finally got there.
Now this why we do geocaching, thanks for taking us to this amazing view.

Its been about 3 years since I have been up here, and the old thunder box has gone as has the old leanto behind the covered picnic area.
Also chain gate installed, Used to go camping here but it looks like they have decided that they don't want people staying here.
The views are still stunning and go on for miles.
Anyway found the cache in good order
Retrieved the TB and will send him on his way soon.
Grabbed some bush lemons from the nearby tree on the way out, and bought some excellent cheap Avos at a stall down the road a little way

A day out caching with with my Dad, Sweet - Sour.
Another cache that Dad (sweet - sour) has adopted. After a short walk I arrived above GZ. Way down there O well, here goes. The GPSr packed it in and I found an opening in the trees to get another reference and while waiting spotted a likely spot and found the cache.
It is now well covered up.
Thanks for the cache.
I got some new co-ords that are quite a bit closer to the cache.

Out caching with my son Brother Colin today.
One does have a lot of pleasure, while standing back, watching other cachers (perticularly one's own son) trying to find one's own caches. As their GPS does circles under tree cover.
Dropped off a heap of TB's, which Colin promptly snaffled.
It is with pleasure to report that all is well with the cache.
There is a golden opporunity for someone with plenty of cash to be had with the sign over the fence, east of the park.
The best day's caching I've had out with my son, thanks Colin.

This was our last cache for the day and what a beauty it is.
It was a long haul up the mountain but worth it when you get to the end.
We pulled up here at the lookout for the absolute beautiful views of the countryside.
There was a camper here when we arrived but the occupants were too preoccupied to even notice us.
Took photos of the lookout, countryside and fire lookout and then proceeded to look for the cache.
It took about 15 minutes before I had the cache in hand.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks cooroy scouts for setting this cache up and for you sweet - sour for continuing the cache to bring us up to these magnificant vistas.

I came prepared with a new container, having read the previous logs. Just to make sure that the origional was actually MIA, searched the hut and the adjacent sign, nothing at all, resembling an eclipse container was to be found.
I have replaced the it with a 1/2kg honey jar, with a new log book, and a path tag.
There was evidence of plenty of activity around the cache site, so I have hidden it some distance away from the origional Co-ords.
I have posted the new Co-ords. Also increased the Terrain / difficulty to 2/2.
I will be adopting this cache in the near future.

There was evidence of plenty of activity around the cache site, so I have hidden it some distance away from the origional Co-ords.
I have posted the new Co-ords. Also increased the Terrain / difficulty to 2/2.

Second DNF for the trip, but a nice place to stop anyway. Searched all places that we believed could host such an item, but in vain. Referenced the clue also, but alas, still didn't get the prize.
Nice day caching with X&S. Had been here years ago & once I started to cache thought of this place but there was already one here. Nice Spot.
No luck with finding it though. Looked high & low. Oh well, just another reason to come back.
