Only 1car here today so no problem finding the cache... container looks a bit worse for wear but log dry... signed and returned. Thanx4tc
Found it! #7 for the kids today on the way back from fishing. They're loving it more than the fishing so far.
I found this at the base of the hint object. The container is brittle with age and beginning to crack but the logbook is nice and dry. TFTC. This is a lovely bay.
Having completed Mt Robertson much quicker then anticipated I decided to continue to Picton picking up as many caches as possible. Stopped here for a great swim. A stunning day for it without a cloud in the sky. No problems finding this old cache. All fine. Thanks for keeping this one going.
Found it while riding my motorcycle around the coast road. Found after a little hunting. What a beautiful place. TFTC

Traveĺling on our journey, we came across this lovely wee spot. If it wasn't for the howling nor west we would have stopped here for lunch.
The cottage is an interesting read & look at. Hard to imagine a group of boys living there while their parents went back home to England.
We soon found the cache & logged it.

Quickly found by malinkaly. Cache all good
Malinkaly and I planned a road trip to go to the MEGA but Covid has postponed the event again. We decided to continue on with our planned journey making adjustments as we go with the ever-changing travel restrictions. On the home leg now back to Dunners!
Thanks for the cache, cliviger

Beautiful bay! A couple of surfer muggles didn't have enough surf so waited around. Turns out at least one of them was a cacher who was surprised that there was a cache all the way down here.

With such a lovely forecast today, and a public holiday too, I took the boys for a drive. This was one of only four I was searching for today. Easy find here. Now the TB I have been carrying round for a couple of months is home. This is its goal complete.
Heading on a geo adventure with BCD to the top of the South Island...Picton, Blenheim, Havelock and Nelson.

400th FIND!!!
Perfect weather on my day off this week, and I've been itching to take the motorbike for a ride around Port Underwood and collect as many caches as I can along the way.
It rained through the night and yesterday afternoon, so the whole place is muddy and wet still, making riding a roadbike challenging on the slippery surfaces. Luckily, being a KTM, my bike has plenty of offroad pedigree hidden within, so it rose well to the opportunity to get some mud action. I've even bought a couple of trackables along for the ride, an NZ travel tag orange track marker and a laminated hidden creature.
What a perfect location with a view for my 400th find!
A couple of campers nearby minding their own business while I rummage around for the cache. Didn't take too long, and the log was signed.

First for today, but didn't look for many on this road. Lovely beach but road a good deterrent to visitors. Only a few at the beach.
Easy find in good nick.

Remember to look up as well as down. Thanks. I did take a trackable as I have been looking for a paua shell for the past 3 days and here one was. thank you
Found without data, used nav only, replaced so bit easier for next finder. Tftc.
I have landed myself a French house guest for the duration of lock-down. Raphael wants to celebrate entering L3 Lock-down, so we ventured to Blenheim to get some supplies and go for a walk up Mt Vernon. So with a successful couple of caches snagged up Mt Vernon and supplies sorted we start heading home. But Raphael suggests taking the scenic route, via Port Underwood Road. Ok but he has to navigate to stop here. Yes right here! or hes in trouble. So I leave the navigating to him and we are off rumbling along this winding dirt road. Not tooo many corrigations today so becomes a pleasant drive. And we stop right here. Getting cooler out so I do a wardrobe change while Raphael retrieves the cache. All very quiet on the road and in the bay here today. So with my handy-dandy wipes we get this one tagged, sanitised and tucked back in. Cheers. now onwards to Picton . Loving this drive today.
During our roadtrip through New Zealand I DNF this cache "Home of the merry men? (Nelson/Marlborough)" from cliviger on 5 maart 2020 11:25. .
My GPS told me I was on the right spot but my eyes told me nothing.
Groetjes/Greetings and TFTC from a Dutchman (a long way from home, but home is here the heart is, on the bus).

Visiting from the US. Enjoyed this beach so much! Sorry to say the travel bug that is supposed to be here is missing...
Picking up the caches we didn't have time for last time we were through this way. A nice clear day is giving us lovely views along the road.
A nice quick find here, Left a tb. tftc.

Found with Dracophyllum. Just about had to dive in to get it. And had a swing afterwards, while watching the waves. TFTC.
Continuing our drive along this pretty road, this was a quick find after reading GSEL's log.

#6164. I am over in Marlborough for some work meetings but have extended the trip and taken some leave to give me time to find a few more caches. Later this afternoon I decided it was time to visit Port Underwood, a road I have not travelled along in a couple of decades. Stopped at the reserve carpark and there was one other car parked there. So had a look at the scenery to distract the occupants then wandered around to the GZ. Its a big flax bush. Took quite lot of looking in and around before I finally spied the cache well tucked into the interior. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache as found. I noticed the logbook was last signed on 4/1/18. Thanks for hiding the cache here cliviger. Good to see this beach. I expect its popular in summer.
Stopped to see the historic cottage... then strolled over to GZ... to be met by twitching curtains and faces at the window of the campervan parked there. So on our way...
Quick park and grab while taking the long way between Picton and Blenheim. TFTC
I have set myself a challenge for this year to have at least the same number of caches on each day of my calender as the number of years I have been caching.
Today the target is seven but I just might go over that number as I travel along the Port Underwood/Rarangi Rd from Picton. In some of the 13 caches I found I noticed that one certain cacher had not signed the log sheet but have logged online. Odd!
Normally I avoid GZs like this one but it was located quick enough.
Cheers for the cache.

Found as swiftly as possible to avoid being spotted by a couple parked up nearby, luckily we could hide behind the vegetation... then off down to the beach with the kids for a quick play in the drizzle. Tftc.
Quick find today. Last time round here 6 weeks ago there were way too many people. Today, surprisingly, not a soul. So easy find- not a fan of flax caches but this was okay. Thanks cliviger
We are keen geocachers from Tauranga staying with friends and gathering a few smileys as we go. This one was indeed for the merry men and just as well they had a long arm. Mission accomplished quite easily along with Mills and Boon. Lovely beach. Cache all good; plenty of swag. TFTC
Nice to be tall like me so that it was an easy find. Always loved this bay. TFTC
There was a very cold wind blowing here today, the surf was fairly impressive, we watched a couple of surfers for a while from the warmth and comfort of the campervan. tftc
Random drive out today and quickly found this one. Didn't have a pen with me so photo for reference of find. Tftc
Together with Fenz i had the pleasure to visit New Zealand. We were traveling around for quite some time and thought: Why not combine that with some geocaching! That doubled the fun and we found a lot nice places we wouldnt have, if we werent looking for the boxes invisible to the other tourists. For details on our cache finds see the logs of Fenz. We want to thank all the owners for their effort, the nice hides and the fun we had on our journey! Definitely gonna come back to you Kiwis, greetings from the other end of the world, keep it on!
To men were around and we had to wait until they passed. Then AntiTerrorist could grap the Cache. Tftc
What an awesome amazing spot unbelievable beauty so close to home a favourite from me as soon as I have enough reception tftc
The surf was moderate, even though the forecast was very promising. The next day got a little better.

A nice quick find in a lovely spot that I visit often to go diving. Not much surf today and a bit cloudy for diving. Cache is all good, I added a new bag for the logbook. TFTC
Thought the GZ looked a bit overwhelming but the cache was surprisingly easy to identify...tftc
Another road trip today, out to Port Underwood and over to Picton. Another great drive, lots of views and picturesque bays to visit along the way. Cheers and TFTC
those merry men must've been all off doing their various things today because no one was home today which made for a nice quick park and grab. A bit sad about the lovely place across the road - I bet it was spectacular in its day. Didn't see the sign so unfortunately didn't read about the history so I guess I'll try Googling it instead. With picnicers and campers all round us we thought we might have to leave this cache but no one was even looking our way so we made a very quick find.
Thank you cliviger.
Thank you cliviger.
Only a flax bush separated us from some arguing people in a caravan while a couple of divers further away were to busy taking their wetsuits off to notice. A very fast find for a flax cache. Thank you cliviger
A very funny name for a bay and a old cache. It was a quick find, nice place!

Found on a stunning spring day on a scenic journey from Richmond to Picton, via Port Underwood Rd. Many thanks to all the COs for their cache hides that contributed to a most enjoyable days outing.
We were worried to see a van parked nearby, with a couple of muggles sitting outside, so consulted the hint. Oh, no, that's a big hint object! Luckily the cache was a quick find. Nice to find an older cache still going strong and in good condition. Good views from GZ too.
We did see the hut as we drove past but missed the sign about the Maori settlement. TFTC.

#9994. We were pleased to find that the cache was far enough from some muggles for us to find it without being detected. TFTC.
We actually found this on 2/3/14 and signed it, but didn't log it for some unknown reason. So, revisiting to do it properly on our long trip to Picton. It's cold out there! Tftc.
A wonderful still and calm Winters day followed my placing of eight new caches yesterday (3 published so far) Despite an offer of a boat trip to satisfy a D or T 5 cache to grab the newly released souvenir I settled on a walk with the family and the dog along both walkways in Esson's Valley. Managed to grab one of the dam caches and a D N F on the other, again, but still a nice decent couple of hours bush walking so great.
Have tried for this cache before, a good few years ago and passing by here on the way back from Picton today I tried again along with daughter nightowl19's keen eyes we made the find easily. Not sure how I missed it last time.
Quite strong waves breaking on the nearby beach today and a chill in the air

[green] Today is a dot day, and I have been meaning to take the Underwood road to Picton for a while. Tried last week, but the road was too slippery after the rain. Today, it was great. Nice little bay.
Really loved this beach and the boulder bank. Stopped for a while to enjoy the scenery. TFTC
Could see where the cache was but a camper van was parked close to it and people were inside
Mallorcatommy, con/limon and I were on our journey through the southern island of New Zealand. With the help of geocaches we came to so many beautiful places, saw breath-taking landscapes and had, all in all a very wonderful journey! Thank you to all owners for placing all those nice geocaches!
Every day we are traveling around is same but also different. Today we had again the pleasure to visit some very beautiful spots and were also able to find nearly placed geocaches. I thank every single owner for placing it and giving us with doing this an other good reason to come here.
Me and my dirty little GPS helper found this GC on a NZ South Island trip in January / February 2015.
