Looked for some time and did not find.

I spent an excellent but hot day today, in the company of Muzza and Kiwideb completing 11 caches. Muzza made sure we saw a bit of everything. Bush land, hills, parkland, hills, a swimming pool and the Yarra River. We had an excellent day. Thank you Muzza and Kiwideb, you are always great company and it is a treat to cache with you both.Cool Hmmm, after 5 minutes of digging around and getting frustrated, and even widening our search, Muzza looked at the last log. Darn, as we suspected it was gone. It looks like the original hide was assaulted as well. At least Muzza found and logged it a while back. Never mind I will have to log this as a DNF.Sad Hope our next and last cache for the day will be a success. Big Grin
Thanks John-Gill. When you replace it I will come again.

Went looking for this one, took 5 minutes diging around. We left in frustration, only to look down on the path some meters away to find a scroll of paper. Picked it up and unrolled it. Guess what... looks like its been mugled. Found the other torn half a meter away. Its back where I think it should have been, however, its not cammed.

08-Dec-07
Well this cache certainly wasn't hidden where we thought it would be, although we eventually found it when we expanded our search. There were some good spots in the railway sleepers though... Cheers Gav [1312]

rediguana and I found this before we met up with the rest of the kiwi crew. We hunted for quite a while in various nooks and crannies, before our local guide (a friend's son) picked it up. Very clever camo being cadbury wrapper coloured! It was lying out in the open, on the bark. We tucked it back where we think it should be - for the rest of the crew to find an hour or so later. I suspect some muggles know where it is/was. TFTC.

Found in a location that didn't really match the clue but returned it to the same place anyway. Many thanks

12:28 Quick find on mass with the record breaking team. The cafe nearby looked good, but they were other caches to be found. TNLN. thanks for the cache.

Thanks John-Gill,

12.15pm
Found by Roma and Max.
This was a very busy place today but we were fortunate that the search area was away from most of the activity.
This also was an opportune time to sample the wares of the local library café, and we can recommend it to any future searchers that arrive at a similar suitable time!
This container proved elusive but persistence prevailed and we were able to log our find.
We TNLN & TFTC John-Gill.

2nd visit with Jane, Nathan and Geo dogs - Toby and Tia. Jane found it whilst I created the appropiate diversion with the dogs from the people walking through the park Great spot close to home. Lots of people around on a clear day. Will shortly need some new log paper.

Lovely old bridge, and a very popular area. Found on this sunny Melbourne Cup Day by the reluctant spouse and listmaker.

Thanks to John-Gill.

We came, we saw, we signed the log Wink
Thanks for the interesting hide - luckily our secret instructions were not in the cache so it didn't explode after 30 seconds. (Note to self: stop reading spy books, and have a good lie down)

Fortunately the clue was very useful on this cache and saved me a lot of head aches. It's very hard to find if you're not trying to look for it. I enjoyed a walk around the area too, it was quite pleasant late in the afternoon.

Thanks,

found with highrod, when we arrived muggles were sitting on GZ. So we sat nearby and had a little picnic while we waited. After a lot of searching we came up with the cache.

Found this one in rapidly fading light and steady rain. Needless to say, we had the place to ourselves. The only threat of being spotted was from the passengers on the passing trains! I had inadvertently left the PDA at home today, so the only information I initially had was the co-ords in the GPSr! A quick sms to Mrs38 requesting some additional details had us back on the hunt again soon enough. It still took us a while to find it though! SL at 6:30pm. TFTC - great little container in a neat hide.

Found @ 1825.

Found with ggkof. I loved the nearby bridge. The cache was found very quickly, which surprised me. SL. TFTC.

Found @ 18:25 with Davroy. Sneaky hide. Didn't find on first attempt and had to give up as muggle activity became an issue. Signed the log. Thanks.

16-Sep-07
After enjoying a pleasant lunch with the coffees watching the trains go by ( there did seem to be a lot for a Sunday) we wandered off to gz for a fairly quick find
Thanks John-Gill for the cache

16-Sep-07
We arrived at the park with Team Crackers for a bite to eat for lunch and watched the trains going over the bridge. Once finished we tuned to see muggles sitting where we thought the cache was going to be so we had to wait for a little while longer. Once they left a quick search revealed the cache.
Thanks John-Gill for the cache,

13:00 My Queen has some Cermaics sculptures in an exhibition in the Eltham Library nearby - I popped in to say hi again to this close by cache - unfortunatly I did not realise the log was full as I would have brought a spare - let me know if you want me to go back and do this - do you guys have your hands full at the moment? Count #0199 found at 1700hrs.

Interesting way to hide this one. The log is full hence no space to sign log.

Found by edmil and maddie. Accompanied by Dingolady , and her two Dingos, who had joined us after we met doing a nearby cache. She had already located this cache and wanted to come and have a bit of a chuckle at maddie and I trying to find it. Sorry to say we disappointed her as we had the cache in hand in no time and the log signed. Thanks for the cache.

Went a bit wayward with this one and did more bushbashing than expected but Wookus, Juan and The Bug eventually made the find. Only one spot left now on the very crowded log.

06-May-07
A relatively easy find today once we realised where we had to look. And there were no muggles around the general area of GZ. Loved the container, where did you get it from??

Great little container! Didn't have too much trouble with this one and the coast became clear pretty quickly when we wanted to replace it.

Second visit to this one - too many muggles the first time. An area we have visited often as we live nearby. Many thanks for the cache.

Found 1.15pm
I guess this a the sort of cache that you find easy or hard, today we did it the hard way. Lots of muggles made searching very difficult and it took time to realise the size of the cache and therefore the sort of location it could be. Loved the container, very nice.

The last time I was here I had a DNF even though I looked in the right place, probably because it had apparently been pushed too far in. this time ai had no such problems even though I did use a little torch to find the brightly coloured item! Thanks John-Gill for a good hide near an interesting item.

Finding the cache was easy, as was retrieving it. After making my log, I discovered a couple of Grandparents with a young child, standing on the bike/walking path and not moving. They kept looking my way to the point I wondered whether they were cachers.

After about 10 minutes, they finally moved on allowing me to finally replace the cache. I loved the container - I presume that it is sold specifically for geocaching - very nice indeed. Thanks for the cache and for bringing me to this lovely park.

G'day John-Gill,

Our 2nd John-Gill cache was found at 12:55pm as the 6th of 17 on our Northern Suburbs Sortee. 6 y.o. "A" made the find here. I can't remember a cache going to 30+ finds with a bullet in such a short time. Thanks for the cache.

Kind Regards,

Found on 2nd lengthy search, probably thanks to fuel provided by Eltham ice-cream shop... Very nice hide, some jubilation when it emerged! Thanks John Gill.

Found @ 4:20pm Great hide, lots of muggles around on sunny sunday afternoon. TNLNSL TFTC

17-Mar-07
The tredley now fixed, it was time to head for home but not without picking up a cache or two. This was next on the list and as I arrived I saw a couple of now familiar faces at GZ, Next! and Scooters Mob. They were just finishing logging (which made it a GAFF5 for me but hey, I'm not proud Wink) so I signed the log at 12:15. A very nice little hide.

TNLNSL. Thanks John-Gill.

Found @ 12:15 with NEXT! Loved the container, Where did you get that from. I was surprised to see that the wooden bridge is still in use. TNLNSL TFTC Just as we were finishing our log entries Eudes arrived so we tried to hide the cache but too late.

Found by Mary & David at 1520. The bridge should certainly stand the test of time and weather. A really interesting place. Our thanks to John-Gill.

12-Mar-07
Found this cache at 1402 in a great little hiding place. Yes the bridge is something very special, but apparently is very expensive to maintain as the local community expect it to be maintained with original type logs. TNLN Thank you for cache John Gill.

04-Mar-07
Found 17:30, a nice easy find as we headed for home and our thoughts turned toward dinner Razz

TNLN, thanks John-Gill.

A change to look for a micro this morning. No trains in attendance but on a damp morning we had search area to ourselves and soon the clever cache was revealed to us. Thanks john-gill

Interesting bridge (even saw a train cross it while we were there).
We were in the park with our ice-creams and drinks, sitting down wondering were it could be (lucky it didn't have teeth! Smile).
Nice container.
Thanks, Robmc.

Found by Bob at 0940

It was a nice morning for a diversion on the way to work, so off to Eltham I headed. I'd been observing the logs for this one, so I thought I had a pretty good idea of what sort of container and hide I was after, and I managed to find it in the first spot I checked - although that spot was nothing like what I'd had in mind until I got there Wink.

Thanks John-Gill - it's a great area to be caching in Smile

22-Feb-07
We came to this one armed with ice-creams and drinks after a hot walk doing Luck Dogs 5km challenge. Had a bit of a scratch around before reading the hint and discovering I was within inches of the cache as I was reading the info.
Not often you see a wooden tressle bridge still in service carrying trains. Most of these dissapeared years ago.
Thanks indeed.

22-Feb-07
What a natty container! Certainly no swaps. Thanks John-Gill

Quick grab while out checking waypoint on another cache.
Great little spot, although surprisingly busy at 4:30pm

Found at 1.25pm GAFF1. Another tricky little hide, which had us searching all around the true location for a few minutes. Then with a re-read of the cache notes to determine the size of the container, we realised what sort of a hide it would be and located the cache seconds later. Thanks John-Gill - this was a great find for us.

18-Feb-07
With pprass making a quick exit from the cache site and calls of "we got it" as he zoomed off ,we soon arrived at the given area and passed the famous sign of which there were many along the trestle bridge! The 5 quickly found the sneaky hide within a few seconds and did the micro pen work.Nice hide and pleasant location, and no reports of "impacts "today although plenty of night cachers could easily clip the narrow drive thru on route to the region.Well done John-Gilland top waterproof cache and hide.

Another find for The Rebel Alliance. L.L.T.R.A

14-Feb-07
Twelfth of Twenty-two finds for the day, the cache was found at 13:30 in the company of Dak. On arrival at GZ you could see the signs of where people had been looking the bark had taken a bit of a hiding, you do not need to disturb the garden bed on this one. After searching for some time I looked up to see a Muggle approaching, no wait there it was the Magellan secret wave and Alsume joined us. I found the cache shortly after that, I had to extract it with a stick. The clue is rather misleading, I have worked in the timber industry and we sure would not call that part that. Thanks for the cache.

[Tenth of 22 finds with acts2youthgroup on our usual Wednesday assault. This cache caused us the most heartburn of all the caches we logged today. We looked in all the probable places, to no avail. We cracked the hint, and it confused us.] (Should "side" be "end of"?) [A previous log mentioned that it was the smallest cache they had ever seen, and this also caused us to look more closely than we needed to. In fact, I have found many nanocaches that were one-third the size of this one. At one stage, we found a heart-shaped locket, but it was solid, and there was no log inside. Sad I rang a help line, and as I was talking to him, Alsume turned up for some lunch-time caching. With a spoiler from the helper, we found it (finally) at 1330. GAFF4, as pprass would say. We had actually looked there, but the previous finder had really pushed it in there. I still don't understand the cache name. I made no exchange. Thanks to John-Gill for the cache. Cheers, dak.

When I got out of the car to spend my lunchtime looking for this cache I thought I was in trouble with two suspicious looking characters hanging around GZ. When I spotted a Magellan GPS in hand I knew all was not lost. Act2youthgroup & dak had been caught in the act. Fortunately they were seeking help to find this tricky little blighter and the cache was turned up a couple of minutes later at 1:30pm (without me having to work hard for a find!).

Also grabbed TB Race to Chinese Spirits from dak to send it on its way.
thanks John-Gill

After such a non-event event yesterday while we were distracted by other social activities, it was a relatively quiet evening to look for this very small cache (one of the smallest we've come across). A good excuse to continue ones biking exercise. The trees gave the Legend a hard time but Lizzie's nose knows and she pulled out a plum from a most unprepossessing pie. Thanks John-Gill for the challenge - SL (in small print).

H Ha tiny little thing 2nd/3rd to find thanks Phil for helping

Found by Peter & Marian at 11.10, after a lovely Breakfast & Coffee nearby with John_Gill and other Geocachers. Took nothing, Left Poompaloompa, The Frog-Mobile and Willy TB's. Thanks for the cache and a lovely morning.

8:50 Met The Yenorom Rangers and John-Gill on the way back to car to get the clue. Was I nearly on top of it when The Yenorom Rangers found it? A small micro and I am worried about talk of the next one. Thanks too John-Gill for the non event event, it was great meeting you all, I really did enjoy it - and yes it is possible to get from this cache to "Down on the Farm - GCXABB" in 35 minutes Smile Thanks again - no doubt we will catch up soon - and good luck.

11-Feb-07
Thanks to all who made it here for breakfast today, it was really good to meet you all. So thanks to the Pickupfamily, Solomonfamily, Timeteam, Lucky Dogs Crew, Yenorom Rangers and Tank 47 for joining us for breakfast.
