Great history here. A stop on our way from Kalbarri NP, heading north. Thanks!!
A fascinating bit of history. Remarkable the work done here for only a year or so, and we wondered where all the fuel came from for the smelting. Thanks.
Very interesting place and well worth the detour. We are making our way North and enjoying exploring places like this. Tftc
Amazing place to visit lots of history plus best time of year to come wildflowers are beautiful
We were on a driving/camping holiday up to Exmouth with a few stops on the way and than camping our way back to Perth. Stopping for some caches along the way.
Found some lovely and learned some interesting things that we wouldn't have stopped to look at if it wasn't for caching.
A great time was had, even though one day our campsite was flooded and we had to move to a new site, many animals crossed our paths including a snake in Exmouth, overall it was a great adventure.

Drove out to find this with the kids cause the granddad had found this one 12 yes before
Found it. TFTC Team Pathfinder. Happy to make the find here. Replaced as found. Very interesting location, thanks for bringing me here.
Nice unsealed road to reach this hill, definitely manageable with a 2wd. Short hike to reach the summit with ruins of the smelter and to enjoy the view. Big container easily found.

Thank you! On a road trip to Exmouth and back. Happy to find the cache here. Enjoyed the detour.
Looks like a castle. I really enjoyed the trip here, despite hot and windy day. Nice piece of history. Thank you
Tftc. Hot walk today. Didn't find a bees hive so not sure about the hint, may have moved on. Easy find still.
Really thought we had longed this cache beforehand as we vividly remember coming here twice before. Found the cache and checked the log book looking for a written log with no luck. Must have imagined it. Signed logbook and replaced cache as found. Interesting place and history. Thanks for placing this cache and bringing us back here.
We enjoyed a look around and the quick find today.
Thanks for bringing us here.
Thanks for bringing us here.
Marble Bar to Baldivis with axell33. A fair way from our last cache and we decided to get off the highway and explore a bit. After a trip with a very full moon behind us and a terrific lightening show all the way from Karratha we pulled up, and down came the rain! We tried before running back to the car to wait a while, then headed back up to gz. Unfortunately we were unable to get a good look around as it had been long dark by now, but we did find the cache. Thanks for the hide here. Enjoyed the history here.
Working our way back home from Marble Bar, we took a detour off the main road after being entertained for the last 6 hours by a amazing lighting storm which stayed ahead of us all the way from Karratha. We arrived about 4am and parked at the gate and jumped out and got about 20 paces and the heavens opened up and we had to retreat to the car because it was far to heavy. So we waited out the heavy rain which luckily enough wasn't to long and grabbed our wet weather gear and headed off for gz a second time. Once there we were searching for about 5 minutes before the find was made. We added our names to your log book and returned your cache back to its place of hiding. We took in the surrounding as much as we could in the dark and the moonlight gave it a special character. I love sites like this. TFTC Ian&Sue - Team Pathfinder.
Last day of our week long stay in Kalbarri and today was definitely the warmest so far. After a visit to the very impressive Rainbow Jungle and a cheap lunch we were at a loose end as to what to do next. Being so warm we decided to take a little road trip.
Ended up here about an hour and a bit later, out in the middle of nowhere. A very interesting historical site. Left the missus in the car while I braved the heat. A fairly quick find once at GZ and after a quick look at the chimney I was soon back in the cool of the car.
Ian&Sue - Team Pathfinder I found your cache at 2:55pm, this was the 2nd of 3 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 6516. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.

We were joined on our walk by a cast of thousands, but they were flying. TFTC Ian&Sue-Team Pathfinder
Found it with Tru Seek Trio on our way back from Exmouth. Nice little spot. Always like coming across these little gems of history. TFTC
Like many other finders, we would not have known of this historical site if it wasnt for this cache. We drove along the highway past the turnoff many times , but usually towing Jonathan Swift the camper. But this time, staying in Kalbarri, we drove out and were amazed at the site. Quick find of the cache, then up to the chimney for a pic or 3. Many thanks for placing this cache and the details, a FP from me.
Out ‘n about with m4yb getting a few caches.
Today is overcast and we’ve had a few light showers so, compared to Team Bastholm log I know we picked a much better day. But also like them we probably would have never come here without Geocaching. Well worth a FP for the history and the views!
Thanks for the hide and Ian&Sue - Team Pathfinder.

Was told about this place by neighbours at the caravan park in Kalbarri. So when we headed off this morning for Carnarvon we made sure to detour to this one. TFTC
45 degrees today as we walked to this cache, would never have come here if it hadn’t been for geocaching.

On a 6 day trip up north to visit family in Carnarvon, and maybe exmouth, with my lovely girlfriend HR1990, picking up as many caches as possible, Thanks to everyone for hiding these caches for us to find. Road wasn't to bad.
What a nice place. Thank you for taking me there.
I liked the fridge...you will see. But I definitely hate these flies. So it was not really possible to enjoy the place...

Beautiful day..went for a drive out to Galena to see loads of water flowing in the Murchinson. .On the way back to town on the back road thought Id swing in check out the historical chimney and grab the cache..been meaning to do this one for a while...lovely views of the surrounding countryside. ..and interesting history...TFTC and another
Day fourteen of our 'loop tour'. Happy to head south to get away from the ferocious winds of the past three days at Denham. This was a great spot to stop on our way into Kalbarri. Interesting history and amazing that the chimney is still in such great condition 160 years later. Thanks Team Pathfinder
After spending 2 days fishing in Kalbarri it was time to hunt down some caches and take in some historical sites ..... wow that’s one hell of a chimney and smelting lead would like to see the mine site where the lead came from ? also assigned the fridge log ......
Didn’t see the TB in the cache ?

A nice detour from the days travels from Kalbarri to Denham. Have always enjoyed your Midwest history caches. Quite intrigued by the bar fridge half way up the hill to the cache. Thanks for highlighting this spot to us.
Day 2 of our trip North, leaving Kalbarri and heading to Denham.
We started off early grabbing a couple of caches around town before heading out to the National Park to find some earth caches and traditionals whilst visiting nature’s window and some of the great sights we didn’t have time for on our last visit.
The highlight of the day was a cache called Kal Mk II which took us on a huge walk down to the bottom of the z bend and crossing the river and climbing up a significant rock face. An absolute ripper cache.
We continued along visiting another of team pathfinders Midwest history caches before heading up NWCH to the Shark Bay World heritage area, stopping in at a number of earth caches and popular beach spots before making our way into the town of Denham where we are staying for the night.
We had to skip town straight away to get to monkey Mia to grab the virtual cache there before returning to Denham via Francois perin homestead and the hot spring there, which was a an interning location.
After getting back into Denham we made plans to catch up with local geocachers Jowiba at the local shark bay pub for a beer and a chat, after a great chat we bid farewell and picked up the three remaining caches we had to find in town before heading to the foreshore to cook a bbq dinner.
A huge day out and special thanks to the local COs for their caches and hospitality. Thanks

On a 4 day drive to the warmer weather, stopping in at Kalbarri, Denham, monkey Mia, Carnarvon and Gascoyne junction.
Hoping for 2 LGA’s that we’re missed on the last trip this way and to clean up the map.

A detour on our way to our next destination brought us to this interesting historical site. Had a wander about, and signed the fridge logbook as well as the cache's. Left a TB to continue it's journey.
Thanks for the cache Team Pathfinder.

Very interesting place no bees in sight plenty of flies tftc .. very well maintained track for the drive out
Got up nice and early for a bigish day trip to Kalbarri via the Hutt River Province and the Murchison River Gorge.
after departing home at about 830am we headed north towards Northamton for our first lot of caches where we discovered a different route to get the HRP.
after a brief stop at Binnu we headed to the HRP (via the easier path) where we discovered that the Geocache was not accessable on this particular day due the river washing the area out we did however get our passports stamped for leaving Australia and returning.
we had some lunch at a nearby Ore Smelter Shaft and cache then headed on to the Murchison Gorges and Kalbarri before returning home (our vans) via the beautiful rugged coastline of WA at roughly 9pm
Awesome days caching and sight seeing with a few found smilies and a couple frowns from missed opportunities and inaccessible terrain.

When you're on a bus tour you miss so many caches. Thankfully today was not that day! After two earthcache site visits I was pleased when we took the turn off up the dirt road, excited when the bus driver talked about the chimney and ecstatic when we stopped to visit briefly! I was off like a shot - photos done on the move - and after a short search aided by the hint (what bee hive? Oh! That one - lucky I didn't didn't come right past it) the cache was signed and rehidden. TFTC - a great spot so a favourite point from me.
Found at Warribanno Chimney while on a geo trip

pug002 found it 28/4/2017 a climb for geo hubby as I am getting over surgery, already did more climbing than I should have. Took nothing left multitool.TFTC Team Pathfinder and for a look at this site. Very interesting reading on the board.
A week away from work and a trip to Steep point with my son.. A few caches along the journey north and return.. We found the bees, great history. Thanks for this cache, would never find this otherwise. Sorry it has taken me awhile to log the caches. Getting very slack..
A fun day out with family and friends on a geocaching adventure. Great little place. TFTC
Cool cache, great location. enjoyed looking around the place. Very interesting history of the mine. Thanks for bringing me here Ian&Sue.
We are travelling around some of WA with our nephew. I am trying hard to make this a non-caching trip, so even though we arrived on Boxing Day, this was our first cache. We thought we were heading to a group of convict built buildings, and we couldn't work out where they were. Instead we decided to go here. We have an interest industrial heritage, so this was an ideal stop, we enjoyed our tour around the site. I loved the fridge with the guest book.
We picked this cache up at 1:16pm.
We picked up the trackable we found in the cache. Thanks for the cache Ian&Sue - Team Pathfinder.

Another smiley added here today on our way towards home from a 5 week Kimberley and Pilbara break TFTC
I will long think about this cache. The location is very nice and the cache not too hard. But as we tried to look at the cache a wesp went wild and thought it should sting me That didn't hold me off from searching and finding the cache. But just as I finished signing the logbook the wesp came back for a second sting That was hard work for one log
A lovely drive out to this destination with all the wildflowers. A great location we would not have found without geocaching - one of the reasons we love this hobby. We left the TB as we were heading in the wrong direction. Geo kid loves the goodies in this cache he had a hard time deciding what to swap. Left a colouring kit for the next geokid. Tftc
We have been in the Pilbara doing a maintenance run on our caches, unfortunately rain caused flooding on some of the roads we had intended to travel so we didn't have the opportunity to go to all of our caches. On our homeward journey this morning we made a small detour to replace this cache. It is still a regular to large container and now has a new logbook. We had been going to bring the original logbook home with us but after flicking through the pages we decided to leave it for others to enjoy.
Please replace the cache carefully and enjoy this beautiful piece of our countryside and history.

Found after waiting for a shower to pass. Interesting spot, thanks. Dropped TB and path tag.
Took a tag. 000544. Meet some lovely people who told us more about this wonderful quest.
Hi Ian & Sue. This geocache container is very brittle and is falling apart. Log is dry and in ziplock bag and so is trackable we left there today. A family of cockroaches has made this container their home and although we tipped them out, there is no way of keeping them out with all the holes and cracks in the plastic. Cheers, Dalfonteiners.
Found with Dalfonteiners and had a chat with Ellen and Dave, whom we met at Ross Graham, too.
Geocaching has taken me on many adventures over the years all over Australia and overseas. It has also introduced me to a brilliant and diverse group of people, many of whom are now close friends.
Today I was lucky enough to be out and about with some of those friends and we targeted this cache.
Sorry for the late log, but thanks for adding to the adventure!
Thanks Ian&Sue - Team Pathfinder (F=5265 H=135) for placing this cache.

After going into the Kalbarri NP we came back via this one which turned out to be a bit of a short cut back to the highway. The cache was found easily and then we checked out the chimney. Thanks to Ian and Sue Team Pathfinder for the cache.
Enjoyed the trip out here to this site. Dragged my parents up there who weren't very impressed ...
Thanks for placing! Lizard has found a different home now I think.

West Australia 2016 trip. Day 19. Having explored the extremes of Shark bay I headed south again getting to Northampton after a long day on the road. This complex was a surprise find out in the middle of nowhere. It looks like there is plenty of history to the mining industry out west.
Thanks.

Interesting history here. Container bit broken, geo husband dropped it as live lizard in there. Funny as.
Nice find. The lizard still there guarding the cache and 2 weird looking bugs inside so let them go. Thanks. Love this spot
So glad we came in here, very interesting place (even with flies up my nose). Thanks
Tftc. Lovely views. A nice little Lizard has made its home in the cache a was set free
Made the trip out there today. Had cache quickly in hand. More muggles than we expected. L: calling card. SL. TFTH. Princess_Leia and Han_Solo.
A funny turn of events: We set off yesterday with the whole family in tow to Kalbarri to seek out our Lets get Extreme souvenir. After much discussion amongst the male folk as to whether to take the dingy, the canoes or the jet boat, it was decided to take the dingy to test it out and perhaps we could do some river fishing and crabbing. BAD CHOICE!! We launched at the Fishermans boat ramp and proceeded north. Of course we had checked everything except he tide and got within 1.7km of the cache and could go no further as it was low tide. Oh well, we'll come back another day.
We had planned to camp about 7km west of the Galena bridge and that brings me to this cache. Someone asked whether there were any caches nearby. Well blow me down. I knew straight away and guess what. 12 favourites. Thank you souvenir. After camping out on a very cold night and waking to find frost on our swags we set off for the search only 4km away.
The crops are looking fabulous. It is a great time of the year to visit. Thanks Team Pathfinder. Great to finally get a smiley on this one.
