We spend three nights in Kenilworth to clean up the leftover and new caches. Found the cache with TBU1BIKESU and signed the log.Tftc. Scrub Bull

We are staying in Kenilworth for a couple of days to collect random caches - particularly those ones where you can't or shouldn't take your caravan. This was one of them. The container was spotted, the log signed and we put the cache back. Then we enjoyed the views, had a look around the area and enjoyed our brekkie in this beautiful part of the world.A fav point worth!Tftc Scrub Bull

We arrived as a group following the Mount Eerwah Event, and while a few headed to this geocache, I decided to admire the views from the lookout first. I then joined the small group still walking around and circling the large log and tree, but they still hadn't found the cache yet. As I didn't have a phone today, I was reliant on the others suggesting where GZ was, so I continued to just look here/there. Historical logs were then read, and coordinates a little further away were suggested, so the coordinates of S 26 29.937' E 152 53.709' were punched in as per [E_Smiley](https://coord.info/PREYGEN)'s log. While others went in one direction, I utilised the hint to match the cache's likely hiding spot, and I then discovered the prize. The cache container was in good shape, but unfortunately, the logbook was damp/wet. Nevertheless, I added my stamp and passed the logbook to the group to add their names. Thanks [Scrub Bull](https://coord.info/PR1FFPH) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. It was nice to have found this oldie 02/2007 hidden cache, of which is one of Queensland's 1000 oldest yet active geocaches. Glorious views indeed!----------Today, I joined [Brissy Cat](https://coord.info/PR5XF6H) and [kolour](https://coord.info/PRDR6H9) in heading north to the Sunshine Coast, with our planned hike on Mount Eerwah to attend the aptly named [JD's Birthday Bash up Mount Eerwah](https://coord.info/GCARRGP) Event. It was an enjoyable steep slog to the top with picturesque views of the valley and surrounds. In the afternoon, [smallwombat](https://coord.info/PRH7KQB) joined our vehicle, and we drove through Mapleton National Park bushland, visiting Bonyee Walk and completing the [Bonyee Walk](https://coord.info/GC8R48B) Wherigo, Cooloolabin Dam, before arriving in Nambour. We targeted geocaches that the group hadn't found, but focused on tree fishing and tree climbing geocaches. The Nambour & District Historical Museum Association had a few interesting displays that were good to see.

21-Jul-24
This morning I climbed Mt Eerwah with a group of geocachers to celebrate JD's birthday and 1000th cache find. It was a great walk and once we were finished we all discussed our plans for the rest of the day. JD was hoping some of his new caches would be published later, so while we waited for these to come out a few of us decided to drive around to Point Glorious to check out the view and find this old cache. When we arrived at the carpark I was torn between looking at the the view and looking for the cache. In the end I was drawn to the edge, and the spectacular view did not disappoint. It was wonderful to see Mt Eerwah and trace where we had climbed up both the first and second peaks earlier that day. After admiring the view we joined the others in searching for the cache. It was surprising how long it took to find it considering there was 7 of us looking. In the end it was Davidwazza, who was without a phone today, that made the find. Thanks for the cache Scrub Bull, and for bringing us this spectacular place!

21-Jul-24
When BrissyCat mentioned the event on Mt Eerwah, I was a definite in. We picked up Davidwazza on the way and made a day of it, finding quite a few caches. After the event, a number of us were keen to find this oldie, so we drove in convoy to the lookout, and while some of us enjoyed the view of Mt Eerwah first, others began looking for the cache. When we arrived at gz, the cache still hadnt been found - there was a lot of bounce. When it was found, my phone went from 10m down to 1m and then back up again while standing still! The logbook is damp but we managed to sign our names. Tftc

21-Jul-24
After my event not too far away as the crow flies, most of the crew made our way over here to kill time. We rolled through the forest dodging 4wds and made our way to the carpark. We all then descended into the grasses and bush, looking for the cache. Took 7 of us a bit of time to track down, then we noticed the improved co ords and soon found the cache there. Thanks for the cache scrub bull!

Didn't find this one , found the hollowed tree , but there was no container to be found .

10-Jul-22
Using the compass through the app led us on a bit of a goose chase. We were unable to find the geocach however thanks to other photos and hints we came to the conclusion that it may not be here anymore. We will definitely be back for another look and hopefully will manage to find it next time if that isn’t the case. We were led to a big hollow tree and the compass said we were in the right place
Who knows though.

Today was all about collecting Scrub Bull geocaches. With an event later this afternoon on the Sunshine Coast, I took the opportunity to head north early and maximise the day by grabbing some that remain. I would drive about thirty kilometres on dirt roads from Mapleton to Point Glorious, grabbing these old hides.

I was surprised that the road up to here was signed. I kinda assume navigation will need proper attention when not on bitumen, but evidently, this is a touristy enough place to warrant signs. Makes things simple! I just get to focus on blasting along the dusty road and enjoying the drive. Eventually, I'd end up behind a Suzuki motorcycle heading up, and we paced each other pretty well.

At the top, there was already a couple of groups. I sincerely hoped they wouldn't hamper my hunt - for it's not the easiest place to drive to in a hatchback, and it's the last Scrub Bull geocache for my 'southern cluster' and thus, today. But I picked a gap and darted into the bush.

Prior, I had noted some alternate co-ordinates and possible interference by National Parks. Either way, shouldn't be too hard. I wandere down the slope and looked for the NP folder, but it's gone. Not a great sign! On just a little farther, and the geocache was easily found and in good condition. I had been using these co-ordinates from a previous log: S26° 39.937 E152° 53.709. Either way, the difference is about ten metres.

With the geocaching done, I headed up to the lookout. With a lockdown kicking off in a few hours, I stayed away from the other groups, and managed a good look out across the panorama. Sadly a howling wind meant the drone remained in my backseat. Now just to get back out of here, and onto bitumen! Right on time for the event too. Thank you for bringing me to this place, and a glorious drive, Scrub Bull Smile

27/2/21 Find #4581
Today was a Sunny Coast outing for Fangsoki, Pprime, Crew153 and I, gathering caches in the Oldest 1000.
After grabbing breaky and coffee on the highway, this was to be our first stop of the day.
As we pulled up, Pprime and Fangsoki charged over to use the amenities here (coffee must’ve kicked in ??), while Crew153 and I headed over for caching business. Following the obvious geotrail right to where the likely GZ was, we found a folder from National Parks first, which stated the “items have been removed” with a date back in September 2020. However the paper with all this on had no signatures, and it has had finds since then, so wen continued the hunt with alternate coords and found ourselves a cache still with original logbook. No idea what was in the other spot that National Parks had confiscated.
Thanks for the cache Scrub Bull.

Out today for a run around the Sunny Coast hunting oldies, with Fangsoki, Crew 153 and 1MinnieMoo. An awesome day poking into some nooks and crannies of the area and finding some outstanding views. Like here - once we found the right track in - the reward was amazing views, and a smilie too.
Thanks Scrub Bull for entertaining me at this location.

Found under cairn 15m from GZ, signed log as CrossRiver 4x4 with TMZ59, Patrol 14, Tamara87, KK&K and muggle Arty.
Spectacular views here, picnic tables and a good eco toilet.

Pprime put out a late call on Friday for passengers for his quick run around a few targeted caches on the Sunshine Coast. Fangsoki, 1MinniMoo and I put up our hands and after an early morning start we headed to this cache as the first on the list.

After a false strike out at a locked gate we worked out an alternate access route. We were surprised to arrive at the lookout with conveniences.

1Minnimoo led the attack and came up with what she thought was an unusual cache container until the note inside was read. Previous logs were then read and an alternate set of coordinates were noted and we headed there for a quick find in a SPOR.

TFTC Scrub Bull. Glad to see that it is still alive.

Selva Girls and I targeted a few caches on water today. We needed one for our D/T grid. We found 12 caches today. The break down was 3 mystery, letterbox, multi and 7 trads. We ended up here after searching for "Lookout" on the GPSr after heading down from Ninderry. We circled around a bit before finding our way in but certainly worth the effort - great views from the top. There were a group of climbers at the lookout but we were able to search for the cache without being disturbed. Looks like a case of cache creep with the coordinates and the hint not really matching the hide. But we eventually found it. TFTC.

We scratched around for a while without success until we read shanet4553's post with adjusted coordinates.
This place is well worth a visit for the views alone. tftc

The cache name says it all! Just divine, standing at the lookout. A group of abseilers had gathered to be briefed and I thought to myself that they'd be missing out, with their faces to the rock instead of outwards overlooking the rolling hills and mountains. Off to the cache and no new comments to add that haven't been said previously. I was off looking in the wrong place and the geokid comes down towards me from the carpark, stating loudly that she'd found it. What the!? Good job. Then I realise I'd given away my last pen and couldn't sign. No worries says the child, I put a couple of spares in the car in case. Love your work!!! I knew I brought you for a reason Smile High fives. One last look at the view. Thanks so much for bringing us to this place with your hide SB.

I was fanging up the dirt track to the lookout when I hit one of those washed out holes in the road. There is nothing better to remind you to slow down when everyone's head in the car has a romantic rendezvous with the car roof. I forgot that 4WD doesn't make you skim over holes in the road like a butterfly. I slowed down which was a good idea because the holes in the road started becoming more prolific.

When we reached the car park the decision to be made was to either find the cache first or look at the view. If we didn't end up finding the cache then the view would be soured by someone seeing how far they could echo some swear words into the valley. If we enjoyed the view first and then couldn't find the cache then the drive home would be ruined by someone seeing how far they could echo some swear words in the car. The decision was made for us when a lone bike rider turned up and walked over to the viewing platform.

I was already armed with the second set of coordinates which led to me kicking up the cache after stumbling over some rocks for a while. With the log stamped, the family trotted up to the lookout which is just fantastic. I could see my daughters haven't inherited their love of looking at their phones over a good panorama from me. tufts

26-May-19
Making my way home after a weekend up on the Sunny Coast and thought I'd have a look at this one on the way. Rolled up and went to the lookout to admire the stunning view in the late afternoon light. The closer view was unfortunately disturbing with unroped idiots over the safety fence in spite of all the warning signs!

Back to business in finding the cache and couldnt quite marry up what was happening on the phone with the surrounding landscape. Hmmm, it must be having one of its 8-10 metre out days. Bother! Hunted around using the hint as my guide and had no joy. Took a break to use the handy facilities and multi-tasked by reading a few previous logs while logging a find in the thunderbox. Saw that there were different coords listed by previous finders so plugged them in and tried again as well as sending a PAF to Selvagirls just in case. New coords didn't help any more than the old ones, but it may have been my phone as it had never been anywhere near accurate.

It was getting pretty gloomy and I didn't want to use my torch as there were still people in the carpark area. Selvagirls rang as I was stumbling around and made a suggestion..... "what log?" says I. Oops, "that was another cache" says she. Ha, ha, ha! Always helps if everybody is talking about the one cache!
Once we were all on the same cache page the hints were more relevant. She suggested a change of trajectory down and to the right from the hollow tree and bingo! Thank you Selvagirls!

No thank yous to Spiderwebbs4 though for the spider they'd added, I had to stifle a scream when it landed on my wrist as I upended the container!

Apart from coords being off, all well here once found.

Another week, another geocaching adventure... My awesome geopartner WallabyTim found this cache in August 2015 (before we had met) and he has wanted to bring me to this spot for almost a year. Without a cloud in the sky this morning we set off, enjoying the Autumn sun and the lookouts provided clear views of the ocean, the lakes, the hills and the valleys. Oh planet Earth, how your beauty is breathtaking... The cache was not where I thought it would be so lucky I had some help. Signed and returned as found. TFTC Smile

In the area for a little bit of caching.

Arrived at GZ & began the search found the container.

Was way too hard on the first , second & third attempt.
Decided to take a break and say hello to the horses that had been riden up to the lookout.

Went back after a few logs were checked & bam, found it.

Great drive up to the lookout with some amazing views across to the coast. If you drive in via Buckby Road from the Kenilworth/Eumundi Road, it has been recently regraded and is easily accessible in a 2 WD
Wandered round GZ and the cache was soon in hand, all in good order. Took photographs of the view before traveling on through the forest to Mapleton but this part of the track is best done in a 4 WD. TFTC Scrub Bull Smile

After finding a nearby cache we thought that we may continue on up to have a look at the lookout. As we were nearing the lookout, this cache came up on the screen so we decided to grab it also whilst admiring the views.

There was a geo trail heading towards the cache and what would seem like an obvious hiding spot was not utilised. A little further searching and the cache was soon in hand.

The log was signed and returned to the cache and the cache replaced exactly as found.

All is good with this cache.

A great view north, west and east from a different angle than we'd seen before. How have we not heard of this area before?Red Face
We were nearby at Cooloolabin for the new catchment trail series and decided to take a scenic detour.
We passed some horse riders on the way in and at the moment the road is very well graded and dry, so no need for 4WD. Our little Barina made it - no worries.
We trekked off into the bush first, worried it may take a bit of searching after reading some past logs. I used the original coordinates first, didn't find anything where they went, so switched to the coordinates in the last log which got us much closer. After locating the decoy hide and big landmark tree, I widened the search a little and found a lesser pile of hard things and there was the cache. Big Grin
I added a spider to the nearly empty container to keep the truck company.
We then went to check out the excellent view from the lookout. Really is breathtaking. Cool

Out with Team_DNF today to turn Cooroy West State Forest caches into
After 2 Sad earlier 4 Smile and 2 DGT, we were very hopeful, for my fifth Smile and Team_DNF's 6th Smile for the day.
Had read the previous logs about a damp/wet log book, came prepared with a new container.
When found, the container had some water in it, a soft toy that acted like a sponge, and a few rusty swaps. Lifted the bonnet, 30 min had the log book dry enough to write on, left it a bit longer while we had a chat to some rock climbers calling it a day. Replaced the container, the old one had a crack in the lid, doubled bagged the log book, and replaced as found.
All {8D] with the cache now.

Back up on the coast for a few days of caching.

I have been here many, many times in the past, but this was the first time by car. The ride up here through the bush from Yandina is great fun, especially on the way back Wink

We usually start at the BMX track and come up via "Bottle and Glass" - a nice steady climb up to the Point Glorious road.

I had the whole place to myself this afternoon, which was good. It took a bit to find this one.

The co-ords in the previous log were a great help. I found a giant centipede on top of the cache. Luckily it was dead.

What was not so good was that the cache was full of water. The log is still okay though.

Today's geocaching mission was quite simple, smash that 100th Geocache! Frivolous attempts over the last two weeks to try and find my 100th cache up on Buderim (which continues to be a DNF) made me even more determined to get the job done today. Todays hinterland geo adventure would take us through Wappa, out to Cooloolabin, up to Pt Glorious and then out through Mapleton.

As we arrived at the car park, Dad and I spotted the muggle who had previously sped past us as i was out on the side of the road tracking down another geocache. And so to remain inconspicuous we immediately checked out the spectacular view. After waiting a while the pesky muggle headed off and so i began heading off to the gz. After a short search, where the garmin had indicated the gz would be i came up empty handed. And so i returned to the car, where dad was busy checking up on his photos he had taken. After grabbing a drink of water, and waiting out an old couple who had just arrived dad and i began our search. After dismissing the area the garmin had indicated i began to widen my search, whilst dad was in awe of and checking out the massive hollow tree. I made a short trip down the hill, past the tree and noticed a suspicious spot. It was the geocache! The container and log were both damp, however manageable. TFTC Smile

This morning T-tech, IolantheK and NeverLostAu walked up to Bravo Wappa before today's event. Big Grin
It went a little quicker than expected so T-tech, IolantheK and I went off to find another cache. Smile
Then we attended the event. Cool
After the event IolantheK and I went for a drive to get this cache. Big Grin
We had to have a look from the lookout and we have been up to the top of the mountain just over there. Razz
The cache itself took a little searching as the GPSr had us all over the place. Eventually found it though. [^]
Thanks for the cache.

After the Event at Wappa Dam today Brother Colin and I took a drive to collect a few caches. We both wanted to see the view here, and BC enjoyed the drive on the dirt road Big Grin At GZ we had lots of trouble with GPS and searched all over the place. The clue didn't help us either Sad We spread our search area quite a bit wider, but I had just about given up when BC called to say he'd got it. After signing the log we went and admired the view. Always fun to pick out mountains we've climbed. TFTC, Scrub Bull.

Well what a glorious surprise this cache was..... Net88 and I were in the area finding a cache or two here and there. I mentioned I wanted to head up here as I had heard good things about the view. We had a lot of fun in Spangle making our way along the dirt tracks.

After enjoying the views and a lunch break we head for GZ. We hunted about for quite some time until I noticed a bit of a geotrail, I followed it and soon spotted the beasty. The log book was retrieved for signing and then we replaced the cache as we had found it.

Thanks for the cache Scrub Bull Big Grin

Nyssaflutterby and I had decided to take a drive up the coast and grab a few caches. We really didn't have a plan and we were using the 'choose the next cache one at a time and navigate to it' approach. This one was next up on our list and Nyssa steered Spangle in the right direction.

I had actually never heard of the area that this cache is located in, but this is another reason why I love caching so much. I had an absolute blast on the drive to the lookout. This landscape is my favourite to drive through with the windows down, music playing and good company.

We got to the top and headed over to take in the view. We stood around taking photos for a while and had lunch just enjoying the area itself. Once we had shared Nyssa's packed lunch of a delicious banana and chocolate muffin and a salmon bread roll (I wasn't planning on going caching therefore had no food or water with me) we were back on track to look for the cache.

We started searching and gps bounce made this one a nightmare.. we were very... over here, no over here, back over there? What about over here? I noted the size of the cache and less than a minute later Nyssa spotted something suspicious. I headed over to her as she was revealing the container. We signed our names in the logbook and the cache was replaced as found. Thanks for the cache and for bringing me to this area Scrub bull.

Gotcha !!! A favourite from me. This is the sort of location that should have a cache. Used previous finders co-ords; TFTC

Wasn't to hard to find however the plastic shopping bag is deteriorated and the contents were all wet. I was tempted to take the cache contents home and dry everything out as I live not to far away. Could not sign the log as the pen and the notebook are wet as well, a bit of a shame really. The road in to the Lookout is really good at the moment and could be done easily in a two wheel drive car. I have tweeked the coordinates a little as well but not to different to the original and previous points. TFTC.

WOW! what a view and a great place, thanks Scrub Bull for showing us this fantastic location. Shame the coordinates are a bit out but i guess in hind site we could have replaced it where you have said it is which is not really off by much at all Wink . Container is not sealing and the note book needs a new zippy bag, Things a bit wet inside. Sorry but we did not come prepared.

Disappointed to be logging a DNF. After over an hours looking with geohubby & then joined by a Park Ranger (who has been looking for it for a long time), we finally had to admit defeat. This was after using original & suggested co-ords.

Got this one with dahumbug. Found that the GPS was a little bit out. After putting in new co-ords dahumbug managed to jag this one. After taking a moment to admire the views it was time to hit the road again. TFTC

Found with Papasmurf12 before we hit the West Cooroy State Forest. We were a little bit all over the place, then I put a previous finders coords in, then stumble across by accident...not a first for me.

Not a bad little lookout here to ponder over the two caches at Mount Eerwah.

Thanks for the cache, Scrub Bull... If you read this?

Today’s adventure was to ride up Point Glorious in the Mapleton Forest Reserve west of Eumundi. There is a geocache there adeptly named “Glorious Views”. The cache has been there since 2007 and for some reason is rarely visited with only 32 finds in that time. There had been a cache placed there in 2004 “Point Glorious” which had been destroyed by a fire. That cache had 17 finds in 3 years.

While the cache is accessed by a gravel road the current road conditions would be easily undertaken in a 2WD sedan. However, something I inherited from my good friend IF was that you should never take the easy path to a geocache when there is always and adventure to be had with an alternative approach.

Meeting up with my Brother-in law (Wayne) we left Belli from a point NNW of the cache to ride Buckby Rd and then via the old timber trails to the cache site. The trails were rideable on the most part except for one little hill climb up out of Belli Creek. Along the way we had the chance to take in the Australian bush, a few large tree stumps as evidence of the old time timber getters who worked the forests and the beauty of the creek which still had water despite the extended dry conditions.

At the top we took in the “glorious views” across the Sunshine Coast Hinterland and the close views into the nearby Mt Eerwah.

We took our time in the way in, stopping and taking photographs along the way. We completed the climb up to 400 m in 2 hours with the distance travelled just over 10 km. The return journey along the road would have been quicker but we stopped and explored Belli Creek at the base of the reserve. The round trip of 22 km took 4 hours (2 hrs 30 moving time) with an elevation gain of 653 m.

Man oh Man.. getting to this one was a bit stressful.

I was mindful of the warning at the beginning of the track about high clearance 4WDs and not being good in the wet. Pfft - I've driven on worse driveways Razz

I pulled up at GZ.. thankful that I did not have to get out and leg it the final 1km to the cache due to un-2WD terrain. There was one car near at the lookout but they were busy inspecting the view.

My initial look at GZ was quite fruitless. I read some of the logs. Kingfisherau mentioned he had put up some new co-ordinates. Annoyingly, my GPSr did bring these down. Old Man Samsung phone did the trick and I soon had the new set of co-ords. By this time, I was alone at the lookout.

Thankfully, these took me to the cache instantly. THANK YOU, kingfisherau for putting up the alternate co-ords. There is nothing more annoying than seeing people complain about a cache being a "few metres out" in their logs and not offering their own version of co-ords Twisted I have posted up a version of my co-ords - not too different from kingfisherau's.

The cache was in good condition and was signed, and re-hid as found.

What a great view from here - even though the weather was quite inclement. TFTC Scrub Bull Smile Very glad I made the substantial detour to get this one.

The drive up to the lookout is beautiful but starting to get eroded in places. The old geodub just cleared the rocks in a few places. The lookout lived up to it's name today with great views of Eerwah, which we hope to climb someday Smile

We had a bit of a search for this one and read the previous logs for a bit of a clue. It seemed that we were not in the right place but suddenly stumbled upon it. TFTC

Found while in the area to check out the view. We actually didn't come here to cache today, but thought there had to be one here somewhere. Almost left without going after it when we discovered it was a Scrub Bull cache Smile But the geocaching bug inside us swayed our decision, and go after it we did Smile

The usual flies and rough terrain one expects when hunting down a Scrub Bull. A short walk into the Aussie bush and a little help from the clue, we found a hard place where a cache may be hidden.

Thank you Scrub Bull for the scratches and bites, yet again. You think we'd have learned by now to wear full length overalls and army boots when going after one of your caches Smile

Always wanted to go for a picnic here and today we had it - with the bonus of a cache , I spent 15 minutes checking out a couple of interesting spots but no avail Mrs.K. returned from one of her birdwatching reco's and located the hide within 1 minute RRR don't know how long it would have taken me to look where she located it ?? I have posted where it was located with our etrex. Hope this helps a few didn't finds. Took TB Great Views of coast !

Disappointed to say that I didn't find it. Was out with Optimus01 team and all 3 of us had a good look/poke/rummage all around GZ. We used 2 GPS systems, and we have still failed, aaarggghhhh! [:(!] Gave it a real good go, and see that no one else has had trouble - where did we go wrong?!!!
