I'm sad to see this one go after 12 years and exactly 800 finds.
I think it may have lasted a little longer if someone hadn't taken the rare earth magnet that was securely taped inside the container - the result being that the cache ended up inside the fenceline and a cacher was picked up on the heat sensing security cameras at night putting an arm inside the fence to retrieve and replace the cache. The security folk in the mint were very nice & were amazed that the cache had been there for such a long time.

Found following lovely tour around the mint. magnet not working.Raffle ticket orange b85 tftc
A visit to the mint, and a good money history lesson, finished with finding this cache easily. Ticket 82. TFTC
I had a quick errand to run in Woden & the family had had an early night, so I spent some time picking up more caches.
Undeterred by the serious fencing & signs warning of video surveillance, I poked around this spot with my torch & made a pretty quick find. Cool concept, TFTC!

Found with my Aussie friend Dommy81. I'm visiting from US for 4 months and this is my 2nd visit to the Mint in the hopes of seeing some of the machines running. I gave my raffle ticket to Dommy since I'm only in Australia for 5 more weeks, we took #70 and 71. Cache in good shape and clue is very helpful. Tftc.
After our visit of the mint we searched this cache. It was a quick find and I was able to drop a tb. Thanks for the cache and best regards from swiss visitors.

Good hiding spot! Easy to find, like the raffle ticket system! Took a TB! TFTC
Enjoying our first couple of days in Australia. Had a great visit to the Australian Mint. A much improved place to visit since I last came here 15 years ago. The kids all enjoyed it. Hello from Calgary, Canada. TFTC.
During our great roadtrip through Australia we went from Braidwood to Canberra today and found a lot of amazing caches along our route and at our destination. This was one of them.

Had a bit of time to kill while waiting for my partner to get out of her gyno appointment so I headed off to find this cache. I couldn't get over how many buses were at the Mint. I counted 6.

Having arrived in Canberra (from Brisbane) & dropping off the Mother-in-law & Mrs VC at the hospital (M-I-L in for knee reconstruction … at 83!) I decided to fill in some time, with Winter the Geo-cat, by ferreting out a few caches that were close by.
This was my second choice for this morning but as I had bypassed my first, due to lack of parking, I headed here.
Interesting concept for the cache/log.
I was lucky enough (?) to draw B59 …
B59 or B-59 may refer to:
1. B-59 military hardware ... Either a Boeing XB-59 (American aircraft model) or a Soviet submarine B-59.
2. B59 … European highways … Bundesstraße 59, in German Bundesstraße system or Eisenstädter Straße in Austrian Landesstraße system.
3. Volvo B59 Swedish-market bus chassis.
4. HLA-B59, serotype re Human Leucocyte Antigen.
5. B59, chess variation arising from 5...Nc6 in Sicilian Defence
6. Barnard 59, aka Pipe Nebula
Whichever, I would like to think it may be lucky!
Made our mark & replaced as found.

Thanks heaps, Telby!

Thanks heaps, Telby!
Day #2 of Fergzters Canberran holiday had us at the Mint to do the touristy thing. Since the Mint opened before the other attractions we targetted this one first. We were 15 minutes early it was time for a couple of caches nearby. We found this one nice and easy. Loved the concept. TFTC Tealby.
A little bit of a search today to find the correct spot. Thanks for helping with our tour of Canberra. Our ticket is 53. Thanks for the hide
Hopefully no one catches me snooping around at night in front of these surveillance cameras!
TFTC came here on a drive south to Canberra with mozy04. We made our coin whilst we were here.
Found as part of The Canberra Mapping Challenge (GC5KB4J).
TFTC! Found with chakram and legocacher79. Unfortunately I had lost the raffles ticket ouch...

Found with Chakram and Elderitch to explore new suburbs for the Canberra Map Challenge. Interesting logbook! TFTC
First time geocaching for a while, but while visiting the mint we decided to pick up this one. We also got ticket number 41.
Wohoo, found it on a quick stop at the mint. Used stealth as there were several cameras nearby but made the find. TFTC

Here from Victoria on our 8 week road trip. This is our second stop and here for a few days. Stumbled across the mint looking for geocaches so we had to grab this one. What a cool idea. Although there is no magnet holding the cache in place. Tftc
Important note - there is only ONE ticket per caching identity (not per person in a caching team).
My number for the raffle ticket is b 28 Charlie.
Amelia’s ticket is 29/30.
Penney ticket is 31.

We went to the Ozmega in Morisset and are now touring to see the family in Canberra and to come in Sydney. We don't do many caches a day so we didm't think we would achieve the 500 points for the Official Space Explorer souvenir. However we were closer than we thought at 375 points, so we decided to search for some caches with over 10 favourites as these gave us 15 points for planetary pursuit. Austpark set off with 9 caches to achieve while I stayed with the family and came back with 7 before time stopped his chase. Sorry for the using the same log for all these caches. They were all fantastic and Austpark enjoyed his hunt.

A quick find here although the place next door was shut. Was hoping to get myself some free samples but I guess I'll have to come back another day...

Ok well before I was a cacher ive been a coin collector. And seeing I was in Canberra I had to stop in for a look and to spend some hard earned $ at the mint.
Can finally mark "Visit Canberra Mint" off the bucket list. But next time im this way ill still have to call in.
Also so glad the cache was not a eclipse "MINT" tin. This was infact a "MINT" cache to grab

All set to go again - the winner of the last raffle was GMound with ticket #91 - congratulations! Message has been sent.
All set to go again with fresh raffle book and pencils. Not sure why someone would put a sugar sachet in the cache though??!
Taking offline for a short time until I get a new log book in place - stay tuned for the next raffle draw...
I finally got around to doing some touristy stuff in Canberra yesterday (which is just as well as I have less than 3 weeks left here) so I went to the Royal Australian Mint. As someone who collects coins, when I come across them in circulation anyway, I was very interested in it. I had been to the Mint with my family when I was very little but I don't remember it much. As I walked into the Mint I thought 'Surely there must be a cache around here.' I was right. Silly me didn't look at what was needed for the multi that starts here though before I went in so I didn't end up collecting the information for it .
It was an easy find. The raffle book didn't have any raffle tickets left to take but I found a stub that didn't have anything written on it so I logged my find on that. I realise though that this may not be in the spirit of the cache so I am fully prepared to let whoever originally took that ticket (D50) have the win.
TFTC.

Found, but the raffle book was full, no new one : ( Signed the back cover instead! TFTC : )
We ventured outside just long enough the get this one a stupidly hot day. Thanks for the cache.
Very hot today, so nothing further than a hundred yards or so. We wandered around from The Mint, ignored the warnings of surveillance cameras and a quick pick up. Thanks.
Our first find for 2018! Done while waiting to mint $1 coin.
Sadly the ticket book was all full so we signed on the back of blue d97.
Thanks for placing this cache and have a happy new year

Being our second last day of of holidays, we teamed up with The_Tritonz this afternoon. With a heap of solved puzzles still to collect, we got cracking. We drove the length and breadth of our nations capital, adding smiley faces to our map. Well done to all of the CO's, you certainly made our brain hurt. TFTC Tealby
This should have been quicker as I went the entire length of the fence before I found it. Having said that, its a nice little spot. I signed on stub 99, so only one left, but each stub has plenty of room so I dont see any need to replace it yet. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.
