This cache has been awol for sometime now and I have not had the time to replace as I now work out of town. Hopefully someone can place a new cache in this beautiful spot
Went to replace this cache today but was unable to access the park due to the amount of road works. Will keep an eye on the progress and replace when the park is open again
Oh dear, coords out by 14m, cache is smashed beyond repair, I also found a container of used syringes close by, can I suggest bringing the cache down the hill close to the corner gate, there’s some better places to hide around the big tree or under the small landing to save people from scrambling about the Bush.
Thanks
Thanks
Visiting the area to catch up with friends while holidaying in NZ from Australia. Great view of local area from the top. TFTC. TNLN
Spent an hour scratching around and no luck, gps was all over the place here. Tried to find extra hints in the other logs but to no avail, pretty sure I have the correct gz, just cannot locate
Update, success!!! What a difference having a break and coming back to it makes! Cool cache thanks, the travel bug is now on the move!
Lid open but contents look ok. Nice views from up here. Walked up as never saw parking at top. Left tb gnome.
Found it quite easily this time. Should have read the other messages the 1st time.
4 October 2019 - we were very close we thought - but could not find it. It is extremely wet , there has been lots of rain. There are many broken branches and leaves in the area. We all enjoyed Highfield Park - donkeys and ducks .
Found it in about 15 minutes. Great things inside. About 8 meters away from organal location.
Tftc, the donkeys are still smiling and the dwarf has moved up several meters from original cords, but still been guarded at gl by the long leaves and branches.great container full of smiley goods
Crikey found this cache very frustrating. Here 7 years ago and got a DNF but couldnt remember the area returning today. Back early today and with 2 of us searching for 30mins still no luck. Walked back to our accommodation with a 2nd blue frown. So made contact with a previous finder who very quickly replied & gave us a great hint. Certainly narrowed down the huge area we had already scoured. Back to GZ in the afternoon to have a 3rd go. Armed with better intel, checked similar ground again & at the last minute, found it. Pheweeeeeee. GPS signal still 12-14m out but very glad to get the hard earned smiley. TFTC
Checked placement since it seems to get moved a little depending on which season and how the surrounding plant cover is growing or dying. Topped up the contents as getting a little empty.
Off on a mission today, to get enough numbers in September for my one hundred in every month challenge. With not many unfound local caches available, a trip south was called for and I hoped to combine it with an exercise training jaunt for the upcoming Taupo Ultra.
I stopped off in Warkworth to look for a few to start the day, and after getting most of those, headed out here to the Matakana Cycle trail for the start of my real exercise. It was extremely busy in Matakana today with the market day on, but I managed to find a parking spot near the start of the trail.
After jogging / walking the whole trail and finding most of them, I headed down here to look for a few extra. It's amazing that despite living in Northland all my life, I have never actually been here before and that's one of the great things I like about geocaching. After getting acquainted with the friendly locals, I made my way up the hill a bit and it wasn't long before the cache was in hand. Signed the log and then replaced safe and secure as found. TFTC

Found this one on our walk from Snells Beach along the water line and up a nice path to the top. Great view of Kawau Bay from up there.
Cache is in good condition.
Cache is in good condition.
walked up from snells beach . tide was out so nice walk along the beach and up some stairs. found easily about 7m off the lower track right where the GPS zeroed out. fed the donkeys a carrot and then walked down to Algiers bay and back around the beach. tftc. ready for a drink now.
While my homestay in New Zealand I had to visit this geocach. The days bevore there was a lot of rain, so it was a little bit hard to reach it.
Whew, finally found it. It’s in good condition. Great views from the Park. No donkeys today!!!
We spend almost the whole day to fix the van in Silverdale. So we had not much time left with daylight. We decided to stay the night in Algies Bay at the boat ramp but we still had to do a geocache to keep our streak going. We found this one on the map and were still keen for the walk up the hill.
It took a while to locate the box under the leafs. The only muggles were the donkeys nearby. Nice place with awesome view.
Thanks for showing! Tftc

A very tricky find indeed. I had to trust my gps once it stopped bouncing around and also trust in Geocchi’s observation. A little bit of bush bashing involved ( tricky when one has a wedding to go to in the next half hour!) but it was worth it to get a quick conversation in with a trio of donkeys tftc No tbs here
Saw this from a distance... thankfully I was at the right angle... could have taken a while! Thanks for the fun!
In the area today with a little spare time to enjoy the sunny views..... Very nice spot, this being the first time here and was blown away by this little bay.....Views were stunning, Thanks for bringing me here....
Unfortunately, I see there are a number of TB's logged as being in this cache, but I didn't recall seeing them in the cache....shame.

Stunning walk with our friends the donkeys, thank you for bringing us to this beautiful place with an amazing view!
My geocaching buddy and I had just spent the weekend in Auckland. We'd dropped a friend off in nearby Algies Bay so she could visit her family for the weekend. We walked up from Fedelis Ave. A quick leg stretcher on our log drive home to Okaihau was appreciated. No donkeys in sight today but a quick find of the cache, thanks
A long time since I've been in this part of the world. A pleasure to visit.
Made a straightforward find on this one in the company of the boywonder, z that is, cacher.
Log signed, cache safely re-hidden, just as found.

Great find after feeding the donkeys some carrots and being chased around by them!
happy donkeys at the happy geocache. Great views from top of hill and great .
We visited this park with a cyclone looming. We found a gap in the rain and loved the scenic views and feeding carrots to the donkeys. The ducks were welcoming too. We dropped off two trackables from South Africa.
with help from a local friend , placed a little lady here who just loves seeing the sights .
Lovely donkeys, make sure to bring a carrot to feed them! Found with Team_LOPHB.
Found with swaginator4000. Dropped a few SWAG. Picked up our first trackable. TFTC!
During our fantastic NZ holiday trip we also stayed at Algies Bay for one night, and during a little morning walk I visited this nice park and found the cache.

I came for a walk from Algies Bay walking through the water and decided to head up to find this cache. I saw the paddock but didn't see any donkeys and thought I would follow the path around rather than cutting through the paddock and lo and behold when I came back onto the paddock from up the hill there they were. I have no idea how I missed that many animals but fortunately my geo spy eyes are much better and I had no trouble finding the cache. Lovely views here and a nice balmy day for a walk
In warkworth visiting friends. While everyone was swimming, my muggle mate and I popped up the hill to collect this cache. Nice work out. Gps was all over the show but managed to zero in on 2m. Hunted for the dwarf and found donkeys and a cache full of goodies. Picked up tb and dropped in a geo coin. TFTC
Found this one after a nice hike on the beach. Upwards the hill is a really nice place with benches and a great view. Thanks for showing that place!

This one took a few minutes to locate as my GPS overshot the mark and had me up the slippery bank. Once it adjusted, it was a quick find and not sure how i missed spotting it on my way past. Great views from up here, TFTC!
Not out caching but walking past today and noticed box open and stuff strewn on the ground. Stuff very soggy and sorry for itself so Ive gathered it all up and brought it home. I've cleaned and recovered what I can (the log books look like they'll be OK when they're dry and it was cool to find our 2013 entry) and I'll replace it later in the week. I've taken the opportunity to add a trackable that Ive been holding onto for way too long !
Found it!
Took 25 mins, but really enjoyed looking for it with my wife.
It's our first hunt, and our first find. May there be plenty more!
