After a bit over 16 years I decided that the time has come to archive this cache. Thanks for all the FP and nice messages. I am sure that spot will not be cacant for long. Best Aradilla
Together with Travelser I'm going Down Under. We are driving around with a motorhome. Started on the 17th September in Cairns. Our plan is driving.along the eastcoast down. Then in the south on to Adelaide and from there ending the 31th October in Alice Springs.During our trip we of course search for several caches. Most of them brought us to very nice spots, like this one.All the CO's, and in this case Aradilla, thanks for bringing us here and give our trip a special accent.
On my roundtrip along Australia with Oopie we are douing always some caches.Today we ware on the way in Canberra and we did a few nice caches. All COs thanks for bringing us on this nice places and making this caches.
This required two visits from me, given I forgot to bring the necessary TOTT the first time Second time round I parked at the National Archives and it was a quick stroll down to ground zero. This rock layering is amazing! So cool to see up close like that, and I mustve driven past here a million times without a second glance.Answer has been submitted, thought Id just log it in the meantime. Thanks!
Answers have been sent to the CO via email. Photo of us with the State Circle Outcrop is attached. This is a gorgeous rocky outcrop and definitely worth the trip on a nice cool spring night. No issues responding to the questions. Thanks for bringing us here and highlighting its existence The plaque just above GZ is also worth checking out if you have the time. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In the spirit of reconciliation we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country on which we geocache throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We (the pants people) pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
CaptainVimes and I are on a driving holiday from Melbourne to Canberra this week. This was a pretty cool site to explore. Thanks for the earthcache Aradilla
A day in Canberra, a really impressive wall down here, and not just at the coordinates.

#944 I visited here as my last find for the night before heading home and took a couple of days to actually send my answers in to the CO. Now with approval I am logging as found. It’s actually quite impressive seeing these faults and understanding how they’re formed over time. I’ve passed through this cutout many times and never actually stopped to appreciate it close up so it was nice to pass by and complete this Earthcache. Thank you Aradilla for highlighting the area
#2085 After completing a multi in the area I had a little bit of power in reserve on the e-scooter, so scooted off to the cutting.
I’ve always marvelled at this spot as I’ve driven by, but great to discover it up close.
Thanks Aradilla for preparing this EarthCache! Got back to the Geo-vehicle on 3%.

Thanks for a great Earth Cache, it's been wonderful doing so many Earth Caches in and around Canberra, time to send the answers to the CO and put some smileys here before I loose my information.

Out on my bike today doing some more caching. We are going to go to a place that has no caches tomorrow so decided to do one last trip before we leave. Only problem is that it is REALLY hot, and I got badly sunburnt (even though I put on sunscreen every two hours :/) Spent 9 hours going around Canberra to get caches. Good day!
TOTAL HAUL FOR TODAY: 17 CACHES SPREAD OVER 7 TYPES (yay another PB )
This was a very interesting area and wow are the rocks here pretty. I originally went up but judging by the other logs that wasn't the correct area. Then I roughly measured the fault with my phone. Answers sent! TFTEC!

A lovely walk around the Parliamentary area today, but nice to find some shade under the bridge while hunting for the fault line as it's heating up for summer. Thanks Aradilla!
Found today as part of my 12 cache types in one day attempt. This cache is an oldy but a goody. Had a little bit of a walk to get here, but on a Sunday afternoon there were plenty of available parking spaces nearby. Answers sent to the CO. TFTEC.
I remember these colourful rocks when I was a kid, always from the back seat of the car as the family drove somewhere or other. In all this time though I'd never been up close. Today though that would all change. Parked not so far away and wandered over. Twists and turn, the planet does strange and wonderful things. Details gathered quickly then headed back to the geomobile.

A really good and precise cut. Exactly to create an earth cache. Thanks for the explanations and for the cache
I had a big day planned today being the 29th February and all. I had a list of each cache type, cache size and some other cache necessities.
The day was awesome! Tankengine kept me company for most of the caches and event in the morning, then we meet up with Kittykatch and Joolay to get a 5/5 cache then off to another event and more caching before heading home for Chinese then out again to grab a couple more and even hide a cache.
It was so successful and so much fun. I found all the caches I wanted and completed my list quicker then I thought I would.
This cache: We parked near by and we did another cache before walking here. I have driven by many times, but finally today I was able to do this earthcache. Collected the answer and took some photos before walking back to the car. After submitting the answers and getting a prompt response for the CO I was glad I had kept this one for today. Day 4 of our road trip, our full-day in Canberra. We started off with our customary morning at Questacon, and after fighting my way out of the giftshop decided we could do some local caches. We grabbed 5 in the local streets among government buildings, trying to answer a million questions from the kids about how a government works and is elected....
I've wanted to do this EarthCache since we first started coming down here caching, today we made the effort to park the car and walk, which, with the Sunday afternoon non-traffic, was quite pleasant - perfect caching conditions.
This cutting is quite spectacular, even the kids were impressed, and set about trying to work out what each layer must have represented back in time. You could put half a dozen EarthCaches here.... Answers have been sent - thanks for developing this EC....

Canberra Day 1: In my quest to complete all the Australian states, it would be remiss if I didn’t visit the fine city of Canberra. So, in the first leg of my journey through Australia, I made my way to Canberra by bus from Sydney. Flew into SYD this morning, before catching a Greyhound to the ACT. Picked up a fair number of caches today, a feat considering most of it was spent travelling between cities, but a good start to the adventure to come.
This is the specific log for this cache:
A bit of an adventure getting to this cache, I must say. But, man is the bedding so beautiful and intriguing. It’s not often such fine cutting of the rocks are exposed in the heart of the city, so thanks for showing me this interesting spot! TFTEC!

That was our third consecutive November trip to Australia. We could "tick off" the last two missing states and territories and see both Sydney and Melbourne again, and the red heart of Australia and the capital Canberra. This was a great week and I would have loved to take the unexpected and sometimes very exhausting heat with me to cold Germany. This cache contributed to this great experience. Many thanks for that!

We came, we saw, we measured ...and we sent the answer to the CO. We walked up to this one after completing the nearby Virtual, and were keen to claim this Earth cache as it fills a gap in our Jasmer grid. Thanks for an informative and interesting visit.
Answers have been sent to the CO. After attending a protest nearby, I kicked off caching with this interesting earthcache. Thanks for this interesting lesson.
#7323. I was over in Canberra last month before attending the Mega event at Wollongong. I did a quite a few earthcaches on the trip and some virtuals. Due to problems uploading images onto the website I decided to sort out all the earthcaches when I got back from holiday. That is happening now. Thanks Aradilla for placing this interesting cache. Glad I found the display board to help me with my quest. Have sent the answers to the CO. Interesting that this piece of geology was highlighted after they built the State Circle road. Thanks. Greetings from New Zealand.
We started the day in Yass and made our way to the capital and then on to the oldest Earth Cache. Took a minute to figure out our approach. We would have totally missed this if not for this EC. Thanks for bringing us here. Answers on the way.
We are on a holiday enjoying our time away caching and sightseeing. We start the journey off with a few day stop in Hawaii. From there we will visit NewZealand from Wellington to Dunedin. From there we move on to Australia taking in a Mega along the way from Melbourne to Sidney ending in Brisbane before heading home via a layover in South Korea. We plan to pick up a few year 2000 caches and as many others as time will allow.
THANKS goes to Aradilla for placing this gr[8] cache! We appreciate all those who hide caches for without you there would be nothing to find. We are not gr8cachers we like finding GR8Caches! This was our 22794 find. Keep on caching!

Having travelled all the way from Brisbane to attend the Mega event over the Easter long weekend, I was out and about from just after sun up with the aim of collecting as many caches as possible on my lengthy wish list. This was one of the caches on the agenda for today, as I love to learn new things from the earth caches I visit.
Being a public holiday today, there was no problem finding a free parking spot close to GZ (and the bonus of free parking!), and I only had to find the best way to access street level to make my observations. A fascinating example of geology here, worthy of this earth cache. TFTC

I was so glad I finally made it here after first seeing this and driving past it many times years ago.
I wasn't sure what to expect, but when I saw it, I saw it! How fascinating! You could run your hands along one line and then have to change tracks to keep going along the same line. So cool. And how many layers are there here! How many years did it take to build this up! You could almost imagine how fertile and dry some of the years were based on the width of the lines. And considering how many years worth of layers there were here, that fault happened fairly recently. Wow.
Seemyshell has sent in the answers on my behalf as we did this one together.

Having a walk down to the posted coords was a bit of fun in and of itself. It pays to actually read the cache description at times After realising my mistake and viewing the handiwork of many a cacher who had also not realised the easiest way to access the posteds I finally laid eyes and phone tape measure on that which needed to be measured.
Nicely spotted, Aradilla. A bonus for me was meeting Team GBS at the posted coords.

Heading back to the car after a nearby event (part of the Clear Waters weekend), ticked off a few traditionals as well but decided this EC was also easy and close enough to include. Bit of debate between rock-hopper and I on what was required but a spoiler photo soon had us agree on what we believed was the right track, and with the encouragement of passing cars sporting Mega flags, we made our observations which have been sent to the CO.
Found after the State Circle drive by for the Mega. Interesting rock formation - how many times have I driven past without noticing this!! Thanks for making me stop and take note. Logged with permission of CO.

I started by finding a few caches around the MEGA ground. Next, I headed out with AngusnmumyAdventures and LilDonnasAdventure to enjoy the fun that the ‘Clear Waters’ mega event has to offer. We also collected some caches around the Canberra to try and fill in our ‘Cacheopoly’ board. Lots of fun and creative hides were found that were on the list to find and also some bonus finds. Some of which were GCA finds for me. After finding the answers to claim a find on ‘The Federation Rocks!’ we headed off in our separate ways. Most were quick finds and were great to see that they were all maintained and in good shape. TB visit on all caches and most were signed as AMA, LDA & JM to save time and space. I would like to thank all CO’s of the caches I found today and for allowing them to bring enjoyment to me and the caching community. TFTC’s

The weather forecast was not so nice. Therefore we would like to visit Canberra and especially the parliament. It was very pretty. Also the Earth Cache on the way. It ist amazing what Mother Earth can do. Thank you for showing this nice spot!
During our great roadtrip through Australia we went from Braidwood to Canberra today and found a lot of amazing caches along our route and at our destination. This was one of them.

Decided it was about time I come and try my hand at this Earthcache, I have cleared out all the traditionals and multi's in the city area and this is one of my last unfound caches around here!
I opted to park in the free 2 hour Parliament House parking which put me in a pretty good spot to walk over and complete this EC.
I don't think I've ever been on foot down here! But I have certainly driven past it numerous times, which isn't quite the same given your focusing on the road! Quite a cool cutting and definitely a great place for a central Earthcache.
I brought along the tools required to answer the question, and also took a pic of myself at GZ. Sent answers to CO.
Thanks Aradilla!

Thankfully there was a break in the rain today and we could dash down here for National earth cache day. A bit of a Brain teaser for a tired spring afternoon. But interesting to learn about this biy of geology! Tftc
National earth cache day certainly had Mother Nature on show but even though we were both feeling under the weather we managed to solve this geological query.
Answers sent by endeavour3. pic attached.
We wandered down after going to the big house. I bet they'd be a little annoyed if the house moved like this without a members bill being passed.
Joining forces with endeavour3 made this cache find a lot of fun. The cache was cached and we move on with a big smile!
Thanks to Aradilla and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!
Watawieh from Norfolk Island South Pacific. After visiting Parliament House, Team Astro & myself strolled down to this to gather the answer. The new measure app on the iPhone was perfect for the task. TFTC
TFT Earthcache Visited from the US, on a 12 day adventure in Australia after spending 6 days in New Zealand. Awesome rock wall and display of the fault. Had fun driving on the left, navigating around to the parking lot and (eventually) finding the fault. No fault, but not reading the cache page carefully.
Gevonden!
Back on the road again for another international trip. This time to Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan and South Korea.
Like our previous trips we focussed on old caches, high favorites, rare cache types and pretty locations.
Most of the trip was together with Plaguerider, Zanna and FLtravelers, but some of it I did solo.
Logs were signed as DATT (Do All The Things) and if there were answers, we typically sent them as a group.
Thanks for maintaining the caches for us.

**Trip log:**
Found during Team DATT's (Do All The Things) annual international caching trip consisting of FLtravelers, PlagueRider, waterfan5 and myself. Africa kicked it all off back in 2016, with a follow up European tour last year. I tried to pitch Asia but the pull of the Great Ocean Road and completing our 6th continent was too strong, and we landed on week long road trips through both Australia and New Zealand. Before meeting the team in Sydney though, I was able to schedule some layovers in Asia (Beijing, Bangkok and Singapore), so in the end of I got a bit of everything. =)
**Australia Day 3 - Canberra -> Melbourne:**
After exploring Canberra by foot last night then car this morning, it was time to hit the road. It was one of our longest days of the trip since we were detouring to Mount Buller for the webcam there. We stopped quite often for new counties and interesting caches and did not arrive in Melbourne until late into the evening.
**Cache Log:**
First find of the morning after leaving our hostel. Hardly anyone on the road yet. Answers have been or will be sent by a team member soon.

We’re on our annual international geocaching trip as Team DATT (Do All The Things) comprised of FLtravelers, PlagueRider, waterfan5, and zanna. This year we chose to explore Australia and New Zealand. Zanna and I decided to do a two-day stopover in Beijing, a three-day stopover in Bangkok, and a 12-hour layover in Singapore on our way to meet up with the rest of the team in Sydney.
Once we got the Team back together, we made a “bee-line” to Lane Cove and various caches around Sydney. Then we headed down the coast on A1. After visiting Wasp Head, we headed up through Canberra and down M31 to Melbourne, after a webcam stop on Mount Buller.
We had a great time in Melbourne, which is my favorite city in Australia so far, then onto the Great Ocean Road, the highlight of Australia for this trip. After a couple days (not nearly enough) we left the ocean road and headed up A6 towards Victor Harbor (webcam) and Adelaide (webcams) for our flight to Auckland. Seems we found every webcam in Australia.
We targeted old caches, highly favorited caches, earthcaches, virtuals, and of course webcam caches, and anything else that got our interest along the way. Logs were signed DATT. Answers, where required, were sent by one of the team members. Thanks for adding to the enjoyment of our trip with this cache. Great spot.

TFTC - come down from Sydney for work regularly and pass this cutting in the taxi, all the time. First time I have sought it out for a good close up look. It is pretty neat up close. CO has been messaged and Viking poses attached.
What a great place for an earthcache. Approached it from the wrong level...what did the description say? As the gallery shows one can get good a close to this fault. This is one of the clearest examples of an earthcache that I have seen. TFTEC
TFTC! I have never considered Canberra as much of a hilly city but there is so much happening in the geology around here and I owe my discoveries to earthcaches.
After nabbing a dozen or so caches in nasty thorns this was a great fun that had me out of the sun, on flat ground.
I got my reading on the way to attempt #2 of library lookup (another fail but no scar this time).
This cache needs a sequel at the other end of the formation in Victoria!
