Logs
Cache in poor condition with maintenance requests unanswered from at least as far back as 2015. CO hasn't been active since 2014. Time to shut this down.
Cache container has seen better days, and given that the name of the cache relates to the container, its now appropriate to put it to bed.
As other logs this one wet right through The plastic container is cracked and needs replacement But TFTC anyway
Yay found it. First time I've taken my mum with me. I let her find it. Paper is much to damp to write on. TFTC
Found it after a short search. It's been a nice walk. TFTC
Container is smashed and wet unfortunately.

Very gentrified ‘Karori’ track up here! Cache easier access than GPS suggests. Thanks Chrispy Twitch.
Found on a very pleasant club day walk from Simla Crescent, Mt Kaukau, Johnstons Hll and returning via Wilton Bush. The caches found were a bonus. TFTC
I was at the top of Johnston Hill looking for a good view of Homewood. Great views of Wellington up there. I thought - there must be a cache around here. And there was! Only 129m from where I was standing. A sort walk and a reasonably easy find.
Thanks for the nice cache!
Thanks for the nice cache!
This was one of my oldest unfound Wellington caches so I am surprised it has taken me so long to get around to searching for it especially since it is in the sort of location I enjoy caching in most. My GPSr said the cache was a few metres from the track so I looked for a less direct route to get to it - after all, the description suggested I wouldn't have to get gorsed. However, I found no such route so I decided the environment may have changed since the cache was placed. I followed what appeared to be a geotrail and fluffed around for a while without finding any likely hiding places. With relief, I spotted what I was after as I returned to the track. I notice the cache is flagged as needing maintenance but I am sure it was in good condition and I was able to sign the logbook without difficulty. TFTC.
Found on a lovely walk with the wife and dog. Didn't read the description or the hint at first so did a bit of an unnecessary dive into the bush. After that I read the hint and the cache was soon in hand. TFTC.
I almost gave up, but on my way out I was able to spot it

# 301. Walking the Skyline with GSEL from Makara to Crofton Downs on a glorious Wellington Day, picking up caches as we go. Mr GSEL had already found this one by himself a few weeks ago, but he let us discover the hide ourselves. Cute container in theme, not too difficult to retrieve. Tftc!
#684. Carried on up the hill after doing the nearby pipe dream cache. I was hoping this site wasn't too overgrown. Yay, the cache was still easy to reach and quickly found. Nice in theme container. The holly by the way is actually Darwin's barberry, unfortunately a problem weed around Wellington and not native. Signed log and back down hill for a late lunch. TFTC
Visiting my brother mathiasmadsen who's currently studying in nz for a semester - so let's go caching TFTC
Lovely walk up. Cool container. Looks like Paddington has been avoiding having a bath. Tftc!
Beautiful views quite a walk from the bottom but good on a nice sunny day. I totally have a the Paddington bear bubble bath that loos the same! Log book a bit damp. Could do with a day in the sun! : )
Just moved to the area and wanted an excuse to check out the hills. Thanks for hiding Paddington here
Brought up a marmalade sandwich for Paddington but hill was so steep needed it for sustenance. TFTC
Similar to previous logs - saw the undies but then found Paddington. A bit of moisture but not too moist and all in good order.

Cache # 2,318 - I had another cache in mind when I left home this morning, but the absolutely stunning weather (sunshine, no wind) made me decide to go for a walk here today instead. I have been to the car park before and loved the walk to another cache, so decided to do this one - not realising that it was a different pathway out of the parking area. Straightforward walk to the cache, all uphill, but not bad. Had several muggles pass me (in both directions) all of them runners.
At the GZ had a good look around. Before finding Paddington I found a discarded set of knickers (that must have been a painful encounter between the gorse and holly) and an empty spray paint can (suspect it was not the same people as the knockers), so obviously a well-used area. Found cache tucked away but not particularly hidden. Signed log. All is well. TNLN. TFTC!

I didn't realise Paddington was hiding out on the Skyline so I was unprepared for the walk, which was deceptively long (the compass reading hardly moved until I was almost at GZ). The GPS was surprisingly accurate but it still took me a while to find the cache on a scorcher of a day. The geo-hounds waited patiently while I foraged and we were all very glad to exit the rather muggy "clearing". Tftc!
Found with Wafflekitties, visibility was horrible up here today! Thanks for the cache!
LCBuilder and I had just done all of Otari Wiltons and then come up for some skyline trail as well! It was sooo foggy we could barely see 50m ahead of us. Came a bit out of our way for this one but a quick find once there:)
Wandered past the trig in the mist and onto Game zone. Around in circles a little then dear old Paddington poked his head out and said hello. Log signed and replaced and off on more adventures. Thanks for the cache.
As I was crawling through the gorse on hands and knees in fog, in the middle of the night I thought: "this is something only a geocaher would do!". Geocaching is great! (and much more fun at night), you only miss out on the views.
Thanks for this lovely cache Chrispy Twitch.

North, south, east, west - absolutely fabulous views today. And a much gentler breeze than yesterday! Quick find. TFTC.
I was down in Wellington, visiting family for a few days and as the weather was forecast to be good for the day I decided to head out and do the Skyline Walkway - which I had been meaning to do for a while now. I left my car at the Old Coach Road end of the walkway and arranged to be dropped off at the Makara Road end. It was a lovely Spring day for a walk, with no rain and great views along the way! At the end of the walk, my GPSr said I had done about 20km, with a few caching and sightseeing detours along the way, and had found 32 caches! After dealing with the various spiky plants, I soon spotted the cache here! TFTC!
It has been an embarrassingly long time for this lovely travel bug to get back into circulation, but it has been lost twice and refound each time (after some long delays), and now finally it has made its way into a cache at the top of a hill on a really nice hiking route next to Wellington city.
Thanks
Tim
Thanks

Quite a climb from Parkvale. Beautiful, sunny and still. Quick find. Watch out for the cow pancakes!
All good. Tftc.

Out and about doing some of the Skyline Trail. Managed to get this between walking muggles. Quite breezy at the top today. TFTC
Out and about Saturday caching. Keen to deal to some Wellington caches that have been on the 'to do' list for a little bit of time.
Ah a Chrispy Twitch cache. We don't get to do too many of these. Neat cache.
Cache find was straightforward at the final. Log signed, cache then safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with Team Cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

Quick find on a gorgeous Christmas Eve eve. Super cute container, brings back memories!
Love the cache. Quick find with corenz. Sorry, we didn't have a pen, so couldn't sign the book, but I did pick up the Diamond travel bug as proof that we found it!
Quick find in between passing muggles. NOW I understand the cache name! TFTC
TFTC. Left TB in darkest Peru. A beautiful clear cold afternoon. Make sure you get the views from the Trig.
Found it on a windy but nice Queens Birthday Walk on parts of the Skyline Walkway. Very nice container! TFTC
Not spotted immediately, then had to hide from muggles who arrived while i had my head buried in a bush and my backside up in the air. Dropped my sunnies, and had to return for them when i realised later on. Reading previous logs definitely helped.
Sixth find on a 7 hour geo-caching hike along the length of the Skyline trail. Weather still sunny, but getting quite windy.

Enjoyed the view and the headed to the cache. GPS was 10 m off so no need to go to deep into the goarse. Nice box. TFTC. Sherlock Hood.
Not in as far as the GPS showed me so spent a bit of time searching. Read the description and adjusted our search and found it.
was on a roll after the previous find. Stumbled upon the cache. (What a great container). The only issue was that is was lying out ion the open. Log a bit damp so I put it in a new zip lock bag. Hid the cache again with a bit of camo.
Out and about training in the hills for the Oxfam Trailwalker, decided to get a few caches too. Nice day in Wgtn after yesterdays shocker! TFTC
Quite a slog uphill to this one. Cute container. Log book a bit damp and mouldy. SL TFTC GPS tag visited
Came up from Parkvale Rd and nearby Pipedream. We're really struggling up these hills under the vigilant eyes of the cache guarding cows. No wind at all. Not Wlgtn as Aucklanders think they know it. NINO TFTC
We walked on from Skyline #18. Haven't been up here before so enjoyed yet another viewpoint of Wellington and environs.
There was an obvious geotrail to GZ, was a bit worried about the gorse factor but no worries and no injuries for StreetWalker who found and retrieved the cache.
Loved the container. Great finding an older cache that is still going strong.

#4086. Pretty obvious geotrail that we followed straight to the cache. Good spot for a cache. TFTC.
no luck. gorse everywhere, not made for tall people. blowing a gale, will come back another less windy day.
Find #1299, the penultimate cache on our walk along the skyline trail for us today, heading back to the car which was parked at the Makara saddle. On our walk northward we decided to skip it and leave it for the return journey (which ultimately may have been a bad decision as in our enthusiasm to grab this cache, we missed a rather crucial one! ).
We followed the track up the ridge to the top of the hill, via a short detour of finding and signing the cache along the way - logbook was on the damp side, not to mention nearly full - it may need replacing soon. Great views from the top looking over to Mount Victoria as the sun peaked out in the late afternoon. Thanks for luring us up to this fantastic viewpoint. SL TFTC!

No need to do battle with the gorse to find this one. Mr M5 went a bit too far with his eyes fixed on the GPSr but Paddington was soon discovered. Log book a little damp but still able to sign. TFTC
Detoured off the Skyline Trail, then had to wait for muggles to move on. Had afternoon tea, then found the cache. The bear says that Paddington is getting a bit damp and muddy though. TFTC
Found with Tramper Ted - the trail was busy here and we had to be patient and wait for a quiet time to look. Liked the container.
I went too far in which caused a few scratches but noticed the cache on my retreat.
Out for an mtb ride from Makara Peak back to Tawa so decided that a quick detour up to this cache would be worthwhile. Soon had the business completed and continued on up the hill to check out the great views. Cache is in good order albeit a little musty. TFTC
Nice walk and nice views took a travel bug and going to take him to a new home
Maybe log books need to be made trackable At least you didn't take the cache home with you for a 200 k or so journey by mistake like one local cacher did with another cache!
Log book back safe and sound after an overnight holiday in our hot water cupboard.
Great evening to get the kids out for a walk.
Fantastic views from Johnston's Hill.
Kept circling around trying to find the right spot, but was always confronted with a wall of gorse, when the GPSr said the GZ was 5-6m away.
Sent the littlest geo-kid under a couple of bushes, and he shouts that he can see it - back near the spot we were before.
Oh my! What a mistake to make.
In my efforts to prevent the geo-kids from pocketing everything from the cache, I have managed to swap a GC for the log book!!
I guess I'll be heading back up there in the morning to sort it out.

Stopped by this cache on my way to Moo today. Started off at Mongomery Ave, which is an excellent (gentle) entrance to the Skyline Track. It took a few minutes searching before I spotted Paddington looking back. A wee but blustery today, but too bad. Great views.

Nice walk and satisfy find after a day at work. Took nothing but left a named walnut [#9]. TFTC
Out with junior members of the family while Mrs SAROC caught up with nearby family. We huffed and puffed our way to the top (youngest led the way and kept on finding more steps!), what a great view of Wgtn and out to the West and South. Deffinately worth the "stroll". Wind gods were kind with only a zephyr of a breeze
SAROC junior (the older one) quickly spotted the cache while younger tangled with the corse . Our second find for the afternoon.
Great views and a good workout. TFTC

Early morning wander just as the rain was easing. Great views up here across Karori, Wellington and beyond. Great spot to place a cache - thanks
Very windy day. Found it after a few minutes looking.
Gorse is a bit overgrown so a little bush bashing was needed.
Great views of west wind turbines.
Added small prince stamp, took nothing.

Found it quite easily on my second try - perhaps the GPS gods were smiling on me. Picked up TB. Thanks for the cache.
Found it fairly quickly this time after giving up some time ago when it was at the old coordinates.

Found both the new and the old clearings, but not the jar, alas. The Skyline Track is Very Windy today. Happy New Year!
Finally got around to doing this cache. Put it off a bit because of some of the previous logs. Wonderful Wellington day and nice wide, clear track all the way to the cache. Great view from top of the hill. Searched for a couple of minutes - then saw Paddington watching me, eating his sandwich. SL left a TB, took nothing. Overall a good caching adventure - no gorse or other nasties to worry about. TFTC
