I drove past today and roadworks are still well under way.
I would not recommend stopping here.
Will be fine once works are complete

Thanks to all the COs for taking us on this geo-tour. We have enjoyed our time in SA, but it is time to slowly make our way back West again.

Today is day 1 of our great south australia get away. Trapped in Australia and desperate for a holiday we decided on 2 weeks on a staycation in SA. A week in Flinders and a week on KI.
Today I drove from Adelaide to Quorn to meet the husband arriving from Naracoorte with the Moho. Sadly I didn’t leave as early as I had hoped but still managed 17 for the day, rectifying 1 prior dnf and finding a 2001 golden oldie.
Great caching day.
Quick find here TFTC

gridge98 suggested a day out North caching I wasn't going to say no, now, was I[?]
A long hot day followed and by day's end, with 39 caches found and 3 DNFs too, I was really disappointed that the longed for fish and chips tea at Port Pirie didn't eventuate because the Used2B church that is now a fish and chip shop[:X] was closed for their annual leave
Had a great day and I even got to meet BBB at his letterbox cache
Thanks to all the CO's for the dirt roads, scenic views[:X][^] and historical sites that were enjoyed[^][^]

Today I headed out with Locus Cache from lochiel towards port Pirie finding cache on each side of the highway and the back roads and clearing the area as we went. Although the weather was rather warm total of 39 finds for the day.

Staying at the Beautiful Hummocks station at Snowtown (highly recommend it) we ducked out to find a few caches nearby today.

The cache needed attention so we have replaced the wet log with a new book & ziplock bag.

On the way to JLWE, this cache was found very easily as it was left in plain view. The logbook is drenched and it barely let me write in it. So I've dropped a spare logbook to keep the game going and signed that one too

The weather was perfect for traveling, sightseeing and caching today. Thanks for bringing me here to see the old house. There's some good swag here geofriends. Thanks for the cache. It's in good condition and the log's in good shape too. SL TN LN Are they nut trees growing at the side of the road across from GZ? . Happy caching!
On my way to Port Augusta and picking up a cache or two, with Rumble the Yowie! TFTC Shady hide!
Owl was heading home after the best caching trip ever. Her GPS had decided it wasn't going to show any caches, so she was relying on the car GPS, the cache page and lat & long to find caches. Surprising, there was only one DNF. This was not one of them. It did result in twigs in her hair though!
slowly making my way back to adelaide from a long weekend holiday in whyalla. quick find.
Caching my way from Adelaide to Alice Springs via Uluru for the Red Centre Experience event. Today was day one and that meant Adelaide to Port Augusta after work. With the goals I've set myself earlier in the year, I've focused almost exclusively on older (2009 and earlier) cache hides.
Wow, I wasn't counting on getting so low down in the dirt this soon into the journey, but a find is a find, and being so close it can't be left unsigned!
This was find number 4 of 10 for the night for me. TFTC Gum-Ako!

Heading nearby to work and had some time up the sleeve so called in to this interesting locate to make a find. Managed to pull off the road far enough, ad being early morning there was not much traffic. Wandered around and soon made the find. Signed log and replaced. Have seen lots of early stettlers cottages in my travels and it is amazing how austere they were compare to our modern accommodation.

I remember growing up with 7 in our family, and 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Not sure I like the idea of couples having separate rooms in the future. Found this on our way back from the JLWE. Sorry for the late log. TFTC Gum-Ako.

10:45 and it's already 38 degrees. What a place. Flies attacked in swarms. Thankfully we found this quickly and was back to our airconed car. Thanks for the true aussie summer cache
This was an easy find as we saw the cache as we walked from the car towards GZ. The cache and contets were in good condition. After finding the cache, we rehid it in the same location but with more protection..Thanks for the cache Gum-Ako.

Today we drove from Adelaide to Port Lincoln. There wasn't too much time available for caching but we found 9 along the way.
This was number 2
This was embarrassing. As we approached the cache in the trees along the roadside, another car was stopped, and I pulled up in front of it.
I walked back and said to him through the window, "Are you doing what I'm doing?".
He laughed and said yes. I asked him did he want to stay for a chat and he said "No mate, I'm outta here!", and took off like a scared rabbit.
Then Pam got out of the car with my GPS and said that the cache was 50m further down the road.
It seems he wasn't doing what I was doing, and then realisation dawned and we had a good laugh.
Anyway, the cache was soon found and it was in good condition.
Thanks for placing this cache Gum-Ako

An easy find with The Neighbs. Log book needs replacing as it was pretty damp. TFTC!
I can't believe that this cache hasn't been found since last October, we managed to stop easily with our caravan in tow as we make our way to the SA Mega event.
A very quick find as the cache was uncovered but probably well hidden under the bush.

After running the PSA series, we decided to just pick off some targets of opportunity while wandering the countryside on our way back to Port Pirie. The fields are green and gold with wheat and canola, displaying the country's colours beautifully. Thanks for all the great caching in the area.
Still working our way back to Port Pirie, the Missus spotted this one and the Sissus wanted a pic of the "house" in the paddock. The blooming canola fields and Snowtown windfarms in the background emphasized the old and new in this area. TFTC.

Firstly I need to apologise for the largely generic log.
A friend was in town and wanted a trip north, I had some leave so a short road trip was thought to be a good idea. As we are both cachers, a few caches were definitely in order. We cached on four of the five days away. The last day we needed to get back to town so we had to use discipline and drove past all of the caches on the way home.
Day one. Adelaide to Port Augusta. 26 finds, 1 DNF.
Day two. Port Augusta to Coober Pedy. 10 finds, 1 DNF.
Day Three. Coober Pedy. 8 finds and Ill see what happens with the Earth Cache.
Day Four. Coober Pedy to Woomera, Roxby Downs and Andamooka. 9 finds. Left a lot for next time.
Day Five. Straight back to Adelaide. No caching.
All in all a fun trip that was more than just caching but caching was a fun part of the trip.

Out with a group of cachers driving around collecting caches and challenges. Glad it was winter as I had to crawl in to retrieve the cache. Would not like to be eye level with anything slithering and hissing! Wrote the log and hands and knees before retreating out. The things we do to get a on our maps.
