Changes on campus have rendered the clues for this multi- unreliable. I'm unable to refresh the clues and waypoints so I'm archiving this one. A visit to the Massey University campus is still a worthwhile adventure though.

01-Jan-22
Way point 2 is not understood as only thing above door is X1.23

Way point 4 is not accessible due to being fenced off as a wok site.

Missing 1 you can work out with sum check. Missing 2 to many guesses to work through.

23-Sep-21
Was here last weekend collecting the data for this one. Using the sumcheck to substitute waypoint 2 everything seemed pretty straight forward. Sadly when I got to GZ is was clear something was wrong. Retraced my stepped to check everything and couldn’t work out the error. Gave up and headed home. Later reread the description and immediately spotted the presumption I had made. Today was a simple stroll to GZ and cache/log was all fine. Thanks for bringing me back here. The last time I visited was a decade ago dropping off my daughter for Uni. Brought back memories.

08-May-21
During my geocaching holiday I spent the morning wondering around Massey looking for the clues. What would you know, but a muggler sitting on GZ, talking on the phone, and appeared he could be there all night, so I asked if he wouldn't mind me exploring, and he was more than happy to accommodate me! Really chuffed i have got this. TFTC

09-Jun-20
After the rain this morning the weather cleared this afternoon and I continued hunting out the Multi-caches and Puzzle caches around Massey University.
Had a lovely walk around the campus, remembering the time I was a student here **45 years** ago! My, how things have changed. So many new buildings - although they're probably 25+ years *new* now.
Dining Hall seems to have changed; Walter Dyer Hall, where my 'girlfriend' resided; Egmont Court, where I resided my first year; The Science Block - my main campus (which has grown appendages), and also the Geography building; and the Wool Building, where we sat our exams; the slope from the Dining Hall down to the Oval - where we skied in the middle of the night after it **snowed a couple of inches** - Yes, Snowed! 1975 that was. So many memories.
***Oh, I found a geocache too. Thanks for that.*** Have a Favourite Point.
Took me an hour to complete as I had trouble with WP 2 (There's no sign - and what's a WE?) Also WP6 is under renovation and almost hidden behind builder's wrap. I got WP2 using the Checksum. Parking is $1 an hour. All is good here.

Palmerston North is rapidly becoming like a second home to me, if the amount of times I have visited it in the last year or so is anything to go by!

I have tended to avoid Multi caches simply due to time constraints, but today I had enough time to give this one a shot. Starting out with WP1 was no problem, but at WP2 they are renovating so there is no sign above the door. I don't even know what a WE is!
But the rest of the waypoints revealed their info, so I was able to deduce the value for WP2 from the checksum.

Arriving at GZ, the cache was found quickly. All was fine with it so the log was signed and everything replaced exactly as found. Thanks for the fun walk around campus.

19-Sep-18
Container is still in good condition

29-Oct-17
Finally found my way to this one and I have now replaced the cache and refreshed the log book.
Happy caching out there folks.
The Turtle!

Great trip down memory lane for me, was a student here 20 years ago. Nice new log and container too. TFTC

04-Oct-17
It's been over 20 years since I was on campus, so it was interesting to return to my Alma Mater and see what has changed since then. A lot of progress has been made, while some things remain the same. I took the opportunity to pop into a couple of lecture rooms that I spent quite some time in my university days. They've been quite modernised - from blackboards to whiteboards, and integrated computer-aided presentations.

Anyway, as it was after 5pm and during the semester break, I found parking on the ring road without any trouble, and without needing to pay. I strolled around the waypoints, gathering information, but could not work out what was going on for Waypoint 2 - there was no sign of a sign. In the end I used the checksum to calculate the value required. I wandered over to the final, going past familiar locations to an area that I didn't really go to in my four years at Massey. A hunt around and soon found the cache. Log is still sodden, but I was able to make my mark on it. TFTC

I will attend to maintenance of this cache in the weekend 20-21 May. Thanks for alerting me to the problems.
TT

24-Apr-17
The container seems to be holding up but water had got in to the zip-lock bag and the paper logbook is wet to the point of being difficult to sign. Some maintenance would appear to be in order (happy to assist if need be).

23-Apr-17
Needed a find for the souvenir on offer this weekend for the 3 millionth cache so decided to give this multi a crack as things would be quiet on campus being a Sunday and the end of the mid-semester break. Took advantage of the free parking in the main carpark and spent a pleasant 35 minutes walking around the somewhat familiar grounds as Mr All7ofusNZ studied here a number of years ago...

Soon had reasonable answers from each waypoint, the checksum matched, and the set of final coordinates looked good so wandered over to a slightly less familiar spot for a quick find. Unfortunately the logbook was rather damp and we weren't entirely successful in making a legible entry without damaging the paper. Took a picture to confirm our find before returned cache as we had found it. Thanks for the multi Tararua Turtle.

09-Jan-17
First day back at work and it has been tough getting back into the swing of things for 2017 and get the old work brain switched back on.

Decided that enough was enough by 4pm, and headed over to the uni for this multi cache. I don't know why I haven't tackled it until now as it seems like a straight forward process. However as it is the middle of summer (not that you'd notice if your judging this by the weather) the campus was very quiet apart from the old researcher and ground staff. I made May way around the waypoints and the cache was a quick find at the final location. Cache was visible on approach and the log is wet. I hid the cache better with more cover from the elements.

Great multi, I haven't spent much time on the Massey campus and didn't realise how pretty it is. TFTC

10-Oct-16
I was out caching with a fellow Geocacher tonight it was a bit breezy but that stops no geocacher. went from point to point and then to the final location to get the cache. all good here signed the log. Had a good look around its not a place I have spent a lot of time at over my lifetime but a beautiful place it is lots of bush walks and nice places to sit and have a cuppa or a bit to eat. Thank you for placing a multi cache here Tararua Turtle.

16-Sep-16
Managed to find this just before the heavy Manawatu rains set in. A good tour around the Massey campus. Worth doing if you are new to campus. TFTC

23-Jul-16
Very early start to the day, 4.30am wake up and leaving the house just after 6.30 fill the tank pick up sunju and we are off, our main goal today was to grab some multi's and ? caches that we both hadnt found, and a couple of standard ones finishing up around 5.30pm it made a very long day, we walked what felt like many kms getting lost/answers. - all quite at gz while signing the log, thanks for the placement.

14-Jun-16
After being at Massey for over 10 years there was only one waypoint I had to actually visit to get the number... that was slightly disturbing. However, final cache location I did not even know existed!!! TFTF

10-Jun-16
Found during a study week escorted by my massey student daughter to spped it along. A great tour of the lively university. Tftc

02-May-16
I went to meet Mr Jamogen at Massey this morning to have a lovely stroll around the campus to get this geocache. We struggled with Waypoint 2, we have no idea what it referred too, but with the other numbers all achieved we could work out that one too. A lovely walk on a lovely autumn day. Thanks for a great multi!

19-Mar-16
This was a fun one. Having trouble getting the permanent market off my arm though. I'll remember paper next time Smile

13-Feb-16
Just before Xmas I dragged Master 14mths & Miss 3.5yrs around campus to collect the numbers. Miss loved running up & down the stairs, not so much looking for clues. Couldn't find info on Waypoint 2 but thankfully the checksum helped us get to GZ today. A nice quick find & the kids enjoyed playing at GZ away from the sun. Thanks for the enjoyable walk. Sure did bring back memories of my own uni days at Lincoln. TFTC

04-Feb-16
Found it! First cache too Smile

18-Aug-15
TFTC

04-Aug-15
Solved this multi with 2wombles, back to sign the log. Thanks for the cache.

27-Jun-15
A nice wee wander around a deserted University on a Saturday afternoon. Not many issues finding the WP's although we have no idea what we should have been looking for at WP2. Nothing stood out, and co-ords seemed to be pointing to the middle of the building. Managed to sort the final co-ords using the checksum. Thanks for the cache

24-May-15
#689 Very enjoyable amble around this beautiful campus with my lovely husband on a warmish Sunday morning. Nice wee spot to finish the challenge at amongst the trees. TFTC!

24-May-15
Found with Greenslime after a morning of walking. Was nice to have the place to ourselves before the students woke up from their weekend benders and invaded the campus.

07-May-15
Cool multicache! Nice tour around Massey, and a great way to procrastinate from my studying here! Nice end location- subtle.

17-Apr-15
Nice tour round campus thanks, and the end location is a lovely spot that I hadn't really seen before in the years I've been coming to campus. Left a d20.

05-Apr-15
Thanks for the Multi, Tararua Turtle … I had never studied here and only been a visitor on campus a few times, so today it was interesting to have a more extensive wander around the grounds!

Maybe I should do a paper or three?? get educated here?? I can just imagine myself Studying Hard - Yeah Right!! … however I am off to do just that!

Happy Caching!! TNLN SL - returned just as found Smile

14-Feb-15
Replaced cache and log. All good to go again. Good luck and happy caching.

26-Dec-14
TFTC, logbook was very wet so added a small piece of dry paper in

26-Dec-14
Our first multicache. Nice day for a stroll. Log book is soaking wet, wrote on a piece of paper instead

26-Dec-14
First multi, nice stroll through the campus with toddler on a bike. Log book was soaked unfortunately, left another bit of paper but suspect that will be wet too soon

26-Dec-14
Note recent logs. The log book cannot be signed and needs to be replaced.

You are welcome to leave a log entry on your own 'temporary log', but for the sake of the integrity of the game I will disable the cache for now and then attend to a replacement log soonest.

15-Nov-14
Tftc an multi. Really enjoyed doing this. Found all the info pretty quickly and the cache at the final. 15/11/14. Log book pretty wet but still signable.

09-Nov-14
I worked out the co-ordinates for this cache a long time ago so wasn't sure that they were going to lead me to the correct final location - luckily they did. Thanks for an enjoyable multi.

12-Apr-14
Nice easy find on this arvo's mission. Much easier to do this one on a weekend as the place was very empty, aside from up at the rugby grounds of course!

03-Mar-14
Nice walk around on a morning break. Initially looked at the wrong end, then thought about properly....

03-Mar-14
Nice little stroll around to get some air this morning. GPS told us abot 20 m away but narrowed it down following the clue. Thanks for this one.

29-Nov-13
Nice quick multi tftc!

29-Sep-13
finally knocked this one off on my forth attempt!
The previous failed attempts resulting from a plethora of problems have now been rectified!

Like kcoley, is used coords that I had calculated on previous trips which made this visit literally a Park&Grab.
Thanks TT for your work and effort in re-enabling this cache.

+FP for resurrecting the memories of my time studying here while wandering around the campus collecting the required numbers.

26-Sep-13
This was a quick stop and grab with kcoley, we already had the coords sorted. Easy find, even in the dark

26-Sep-13
Easy find had got the coordinates awhile back, turns out it was right behind my office, tftc found with MAKESHlFT

26-Sep-13
Cache was goneburger. Now replaced.

26-Sep-13
I conducted a full walk-around all WPs today, verifying the accuracy of coords and the currency of the clues and required information. I've made slight adjustments to the coords for WPs 3 & 6, but other than that all is in order.
Happy caching.

14-Sep-13
From recent reports I fear that the cache is missing as the consequence of maintenance. I will check this out again soonest.

30-Aug-13
Gave this a go but weren't too confident about getting it.

07-Aug-13
Please note:

I have just received feedback from a cacher which raises some queries about the integrity of my revised WP data, clues and the checksum. I'm going to do some verification.

So, if you proceed with the cache at the moment, like the say in the best of car parking buildings, "all care, no responsibility".

Will be seeking to address and verify queries raised soonest, and will write a note once completed.

09-Jun-13
Finally revisited and revised to accommodate some necessary changes.
All good to go again.

15-May-13
I will be reactivating this cache. Just as soon as I can get myself up the track to Palmerston North and deal with it. I have had kind offers to deal with on my behalf, which I appreciate, but I need to do a review of the whole multi set-up to ensure it gets refreshed on a sustainable basis.

27-Mar-13
I've received a report that indicates that not all waypoints continue to be accessible/available.

I will need to redesign to accommodate this change on the camps.

Thanks to Etherlord for reporting so promptly.
TT

25-Mar-13
This has been one that I've been wanting to find for a while but just hadn't got round to...
Re-enabled, a blank logbook proved irresistible on Monday after work Smile

Unfortunately it wasn't to be Sad
Having studied at Massey ~10 years ago, I found the waypoints without any issues, however finding the information at the locations proved a little more difficult.
I think some waypoints are missing/covered up due to earthquake strengthening construction work.
Having said this, I may be completely off track as I couldn't even get the checksum to balance for the half of the waypoints that were still in available. It looks like one of the signs has been updated for 2013...

unlike my B Eng from 10 years ago, hopefully I will pass this test in due course [B)]

24-Mar-13
Back up and all go.
It has taken me much longer than I anticipated. Apologies for the delay.
Cache container type changed.
Happy caching out there folks.
TT

24-Nov-12
Will take off line while I deal with the log replacement

11-Nov-12
#3506. Relatively quiet today when term had already finished, but there were still people around on a wet Sunday afternoon. Parking was free though. Nice going around the campus, which had changed a bit since we were last here. The logbook was full and needs replacement. Managed to find a tiny space to scribble the date/name. TNLNSL. TFTC.

10-Nov-12
Absolutely tiny. Wp5 took a bit of searching for.

07-Jul-12
I had done some of the Waypoints on a previous visit to town. Returned to finish it off to day. A quick find once at GZ. A good all round challenge. The logsheet is full and needs replacing. TFTC

07-Jul-12
WP6 took a bit of a lap to find, a nice little tour of the campus.

24-Jun-12
Smallest cache ever! Nice work..! Sign at waypoint 6 is gone, but still solvable with checksum... Tiny log book pretty much full. Really enjoyed exploring the campus..!

21-Jan-12
Had a great time looking for this one. I think, log book needs to be replaced. Other than that, it's an awesome cache. Thanks!

16-Jan-12
Found it with Lellums. Was a very nice day for a walk around campus.

16-Jan-12
had an awesome day cruising around campus, kept stopping to sit in the sun, and let cheetora roll down hills XD TFTC

07-Jan-12
New log strip needed.

07-Jan-12
A quick detour to revisit this one. Found it instantly this time, since now we know only too well what a nano looks like! Logstrip is full- we signed over the bit saying it was full...

06-Dec-11
Found with a friend. Nice stroll around campus. TFTC! Smallest geocache seen so far.

04-Dec-11
A nice morning geocaching around Massey with a newbie. This one took a bit of finding - checked it three times...

24-Nov-11
Shew. Was not far from here all week for a conference at the chaplaincy centre. Nice to be on this campus as I work on the Albany campus & often hear of this place down south. Lovely hospitality and TWO caches this week. Thanks!

03-Sep-11
Nice day for a walk around Massey. Quick find in the end. TFTC

31-Aug-11
This was just awesome. Thanks for showing me around campus today lol. Had heaps of fun. TFTC.

23-Jul-11
Did this multi some months ago in the rain, but couldn't lay hands on the final at that time. Came back today for an instant find exactly where I looked last time. Glad to get it off the list!
TFTC.

22-Jul-11
Wandered around the campus early evening, then went back today to find the end, quick and easy. Thanks

15-Jul-11
Was an awesome way to get more familiar with the campus, as a new student. TFTC! It took me forever to find the actual cache because I am an idiot, but luckily there was nobody near GZ.

23-May-11
Nice walk

20-May-11
I think a saturday afternoon was ideal for this one as there were very few muggles around.

09-Apr-11
#2127. Saturday was a good day to do this one. Very peaceful strolling round the campus. TFTC.

09-Apr-11
First visit to Massey, so enjoyed our stroll around the campus. We had trouble with one of the WPs - couldn't find a WE on the doorway at GZ, so used the WE number from the neighbouring building which seemed to do the trick. Turned out we had parked within 30m of the final.
TFTC.

31-Mar-11
Took the whole day between classes doing this one, as first chook04 and I didn't search the correct coordinates. Finally got it! TFTC

31-Mar-11
Took all morning before class to do the clues with Kiwi-anna but we wrote the final coordinate wrong, came back at night and found my first multi cache, happy hunting, TFTC

25-Dec-10
Went with family on a brilliant Christmas day in Palmy, and finished it in 30mins. Good fun! We use the Iphone application to find the waypoints and then to plug in the final gps coordinates. Great mutilcache. Merry Xmas! God Bless!

15-Dec-10
TFTC. Found the final location reasonably easily. However, three muggles decided the seat was a nice place to enjoy their christmas party food. Had to wait for them to eventually disappear.

13-Dec-10
Finally managed to spend some time and tick this one off, nice hide and a cool multi-cache.
Logbook has only a few slots left and is getting a bit worn but still quite usable.
TFTC Smile

29-Nov-10
A fun walk around the campus and I am pretty sure I have found the right final location but I can't find the cache there after two visits even with the clue. I shall have to revisit the waypoints, make sure I have the right spot, and then keep hunting Smile

07-Sep-10
A really good tour around some of the university. Pleased to have the checksums as I had one of the answers wrong. Very good and quiet location for the final - took a few minutes to locate as I forgot size of cache. SL TFTC

07-Sep-10
Found with tmann421 and left Hugo the dog in the geo ute as we didn't think he would pass for a student! Fun cache, SL, TFTC.

29-Aug-10
Happy to have this one out of the way and almost took as long to roll back up as to find. TFTC

04-Jul-10
Took more like 40-50 min for us to get the final waypoint. But found fairly quikly once there! TNLN TFTC Found with Griffiti

04-Jul-10
Lovely walk around the University on a sunday afternoon with Steve+Annah. As mentioned by them, took us twice as long to walk around and we felt like we walking fairly fast. TFTC

03-Jul-10
Mrs Yeetrees had to drop some books back off at Massey University so this was the best opportunity to get a chance to walk around the University as they were on holiday. No issues here today as it was so quiet. A nice walk around finding all the waypoints and then somehow got my co-ords mess up so had to PAF and found that I had the correct answers BUT I messed them up a bit. Finally got the chance to knock this one off the list with Mrs Yeetrees, nice spot for a cache. TFTC TNLNSL (1947)

02-Apr-10
Replaced log
Fixed up WP1
All back up and running

10-Jan-10
Off line for a couple of days will I attend to the log - be back soonest
TT

05-Jan-10
At m y slow pace it took 1.20 mins. Although all the way points were no major prob. As dont really 'know' Massey i found the the buildings and pond kept getting in my direct route! First waypoint? - My GZ was not at a parking sign rather at the speed restriction sign. I know about these nano containers..met alot in NP. area . Need new log book!

03-Jan-10
Thanks Tararua Turtle for an enjoyable multi. As reported elsewhere, the sign at WP1 has changed again but with the help of the checksum I was able to calculate the correct answer. I was able to locate enough white space to record my iniitals but I think the next finder may struggle to do likewise.

03-Jan-10
Took muggles Janet and Bruce to help us with this multicache. With 2 GPS's with us plus a compass, plus Possum and Cleo's knowledge of the campus, we quickly found all the waypoints and final cache location although spotting the actual cache was a bit of fun - Cleo was the first to spot it. The parking sign for the first waypoint has clearly been changed so use your brains to get the correct number. Log book is full but did write P C in it prove it was us. TFTC.

31-Dec-09
Nobody about today so we were able to drive to some of the waypoints. Found a few to be out particularly WP1 however got there in the end for an easy find at the final. TFTC

23-Dec-09
A good multi and the logbook is now full. TFTC MacBanger

14-Dec-09
found with NZMamma and chazzanz.
