We were heading to Blenheim for a family Christmas dinner and as the family Christmas lunch in Richmond, Nelson had finished in plenty of time we thought we would pop out here and try to find this archived cache. Our interest in finding archived caches was sparked a few months ago during a chance meeting with a Blenheim cacher. Since then we have spent considerable time hunting for caches that are not there, but occasionally we strike gold and find one still in place.
Christmas day in Blenheim was wet, in Whites Bay it was sodden, the water was lapping over the edge of the footbridge and there were several big scars on the beach where the water had washed away the sand and only left stones. Once we found our way to GZ in the pouring rain we started to hunt, the phone got quite wet so was not as helpful as it often is, so we hunted high and low until GK suggested we move our search to a nearby area where he found the cache almost immediately.
Thanks for placing this cache, for bringing us here to this neat wee spot and of course thank you for the smiley.

I am delighted to find this old cache but also apologise to you The Raes. The way I manages my database means this one was still there quite by accident. I aborted the headlands cache due to the incoming tide so decided to try for this one that was showing up as closest. Crossed the twom water hazards and found the cache -m a pill container in the original but no log so I traipse back across the water to the car for a replacement log and plastic bag and then for the third time back across to sort this. Its not until I log that I discover it had been archived for quite a while. Whoops! If the space is still available I might just take you up your offer cheers. TFTC # 12,623
Didn't realise it had been archived, so when we found it all in bits with a cracked lid, we put another cache container - pill bottle - inside the broken outer cache and replaced the log. So actually it is good to go again! Found with Mills and Boon. We are visiting from Tauranga, so not able to undo the cache again, sorry.
Finally, we hit the south island today after a bit of luck with the ferry... Decided to find somewhere a little more "wild" to rest our head for the evening before heading through to the winelands the following day. First thought of heading through to Robin Hood Bay but then decided Whites was far enough removed and with only a couple other cars in the site we were more than happy to enjoy the serenity of being here.
Found this one easily... Although the hint was completely cryptic to me (at the time - I have since learnt what a "weka" is ). But as others have mentioned, the lid is cracked and the log completely soaked. I''m afraid the whole box will need to be replaced.
TNLN. TFTC.
3293 - 7:14:00 PM - Cache #2 of 3 for the day.

Together with Fenz i had the pleasure to visit New Zealand. We were traveling around for quite some time and thought: Why not combine that with some geocaching! That doubled the fun and we found a lot nice places we wouldnt have, if we werent looking for the boxes invisible to the other tourists. For details on our cache finds see the logs of Fenz. We want to thank all the owners for their effort, the nice hides and the fun we had on our journey! Definitely gonna come back to you Kiwis, greetings from the other end of the world, keep it on!
Great spot for a cache but unfortunately the log was too wet to sign and the box lid was broken.
Found with Annacons but unable to sign as log was too wet (and sort of black and mouldy and gunky) - see Annacons' photo of the cache to prove we were there. Fun spot to climb around in with the kids
Log wet...couldn't sign but needs maintenance logged instead of a " found it" tftc
Out with The Seagniod to try the new night cache. This is a fill in until it gets dark and a training mission for me to learn more tricks with my GPS. Great place and easy find . Thanks
I went back and found another geocache that overly wasn't the one intended just to let everyone know

Originally located without a writing implement whilst geo-kids swam in surf, the GZ was subsequently revisited enmass and the logbook entry made. Nicely dry and calm thankfully otherwise could have been hair-raising near the cache. TFTC.
After having hit #6000, I could again now find any cache I wanted.. after the walk down the track from Box in a box, my legs were really shaky, but I decided to take a slow stroll down the beach to find this one.
Easy find in a good spot
Seems like Surf rescue had some sort of competition here today, they held one of the last competitions as I was walking up the track to Box.. and they were wrapping up the prize ceremony when I came back down.

Nice day for a road trip after dropping our passenger off at the ferry. It's been a long time since we travelled along the Port Underwood Road so a good opportunity to experience it again with time to stop along the way and do some geocaching. TFTC.
This was a fairly quick find this afternoon. New container is doing its job and the contents are nice and dry. A beautiful beach, nice and warm in the sun.
On Tour together with Sabe73 as Team "TheBros" around South Island to visit some nice spots.
We also visited this location and could find the box almost quickly.
Thank you for showing us this place and of course for the Cache.
Greetings from Carinthia/Austria.

The place is beautiful. Should be a very good area in summer. The box is broken and the logbook is totally wet. Tftc
Container full of water. Emptied it but couldn't get pen to write on either paper. Ripped the docket trying to write. This bay had been recommended by our son who had been here training with the air force. It was so beautiful glad we came.

Lid on cache container broken and logbook absolutely sodden. New container and logbook required.
Is was early afternoon and all the weekend chores were completed when NZDi (aka Mrs Kiwimykl) said lets go for a walk somewhere. So I suggested the walk from Rarangi to White's Bay so that we could include a few caches along the way.
This turned out to be the third cache of the day and once again I took the honours of finding it. However, when I opened the container the log was sodden. I tried to write in it but it was too far gone and due to the spontaneity of today's caching trip, I neglected to include my cache repair kit. Searching through my wallet I found an old Pak'n Save fuel receipt which I penned our names and date on and placed in the container.
Another QEF due to accurate GPS coordinates.

That was a misson. Found at the bottom of a rock face. No pen or pad. Camping here for the weekend. Got the olds looking as well and now they are keen.
Haha that was a bit more in the undergrowth than I was expecting! Stunning beach - thank you for bringing us here!
Nice beach never been here before. There was some juggles getting crabs for a feed. Cheers
What a nice day today and some just amazing beaches !! Over the hill and far away we went today Found this cache on a small caching day although not as world famous (maybe not) with the world renowned capperz (maybe just in our house) what a nice day thoughts go wondering around in the nice summer breeze; as I mentioned before it was such a nice day today thanks for bringing us here TFTC
Beautiful day for a walk... - arrived at Whites bay just as a large group of school holiday program kids - hurried along the beach hoping for a QEF - yes it was

Day 2 of a big South Island trip in Barnaby. After spending the night at the DOC Rarangi Reserve camp site we walked the track to White's Bay after breakfast. Nice walk, nice camp site. We headed onto the beach and along to where GZ appeared to be and while Mrs B took some photos of the view I did the necessary finding and signing. A little bit of a Geotrail helped with this one.
I must say that without the lure of this cache we wouldn't have walked that track and we would never have driven the extra distance to White's Bay from Rarangi just to find an overnight camp site after landing off the ferry at Picton. So, this gets a FP from me for showing us one of the few places we have been where we'd actually like to camp for a few days in the future . It was a good hide too. TFTC

Many thanks, just spent a few days at the campsite- our favourite spot on our South Island holiday- don't let everyone know what a great place it is!
A large primary school group was at this beach today, but none studying geocaching. Approaching GZ one group was nearby. Luckily they moved away not long after I arrived.
Approached GZ & made a complete hash of finding where to look. With time running out, changed approach to spy where the cache would be. Phew there it was.
Fabulous beach.

[green] A rash of new caches popped up, and the new enthusiastic FTFers went and grabbed them all. Except one. Capperz gave me a call and invited me for a trip to try out his toy on the road. After claiming the F T F there, we took me around to sample some of the caches hereabout. Like this one. Okay, I would have picked a marginally more interesting place for the cache (like up there), but aside from that, this cache has it all. Great location, interesting structures all around (alas, I did not bring my camera), away from the main traffic area, decent size. Yeah, this is favourite material. And I dropped in a path tag. Thanks!
There was no pen when we found the cache so didn't manually log the find. Was going to go back but heavens opened and didn't want to us or treasure to get soaked. TFTC

We had procrastinated for some time this morning whether we would head to Marlborough then an unexpected visitor delayed things a bit longer but eventually we hit the road for a leisurely cache finding drive around this area. This was one of several we found today and was also the last one before heading homeward again. The camping area was much more extensive than I had realised. Thank you The Rae's.
We decided on a leisurely drive with some caching thrown in today. It was meant to familiarise ourselves with the area so a proper caching expedition can be planned. This was our last find for the day and no 10 out of 10. It's obvious why this is a very popular place. Thank you The Rae's for placing this cache.
This one has alluded us for a while, seem to strugle getting the right location, but we found it today, hooray! Whites Bay is one of our favourite holiday locations.Tftc
Doing a few more caches locally before my dad jets back to Canada. This was an interesting one. Fun to find! Found with eltee291 and crman1. TFTC!!
Down from Canada visiting with my daughter and her family in Blenheim. Another beautiful day in the neighbourhood so we decided to go sightseeing and geocaching. This is really a spectacular area to visit. QEF with crman1 and coastalmartinis. TFTC
Bit of local caching in the few days before my father-in-law leaves, and what a beautiful day for it. Took the dog along with us, although he couldn't get out of the car for this one so we had to be quick. Found with eltee291 and coastalmartinis. TFTC!
Yes, @ Whites beach for a fab day with friends from Blenheim. Last part of the day. Planned to check out Geo cache. Easy.
On a beautiful day at the beach. Climbed the rock and found the cache. Wonderful spot.
Quick stroll to the cache while camping 100m away well hidden from the muggles. Thanks.
Found with quinella - first time in this area and we were impressed . Lots of muggles . Tftc
Wasn't expecting to do any caching today.....bonus. No pen - photo instead. TFTC.
First hunt of the Holidays.
Nice bay, decided to stay the night. Went for a Kayak then had a cold shower. Cold showers are bad, haven't done that in a while, will be bringing a solar shower next trip, even it they are only a lite duty thing at least they will be warm.

Quick found and one of the besteht camping spots! We Bad a great night und tun with the glowworms...
12.25: On the way from Picton to St. Arnaud, taking the scenic drive along the coast. Another nice place, too many of those bays along the road. Here added the historical importance of the former cable station and a lot of other things to see and do. Much folks at this place compared to the rest of the road. Some metres to go for this cache and the search wasn't that easy. Remote and hidden place you may search without disturbance...mostly

Such a fabulous day for the beach! Quick find, though I still don't know what a weta is...
A perfect day at a perfect bay Kids enjoyed pottering and we finally found a cache big enough to off-load our tag-along Travelbugs! Thank you for placing this cache in a fantastic spot. Well worth the visit ...
We were surprised to find lots of people camping here. I guess the swimming season has begun. I was a little concerned that we might have trouble finding a cache without being noticed, but it was in just the right place for a discrete find. Thanks for bringing us to this beautiful bay.
I really enjoy spending time in New Zealand, I just love it here. Its nature, people and adventures I am passing through. Awesome place, thank you very much for introducing to myself and for the cache itself Sorry for late logging, I have some problems with internet access during travelling.
Shinichi87 and I found this little one on our road trip around the south island. Our beloved Campervan Gimli took us in every single part of the South Island, so we could collect a lot of Caches
Here we spend the night and during breakfast someone told us, that a tsunami is coming and that we should leave...

KullerKeks90 and I made here a overnight stop. We could find this in the morning after we got a Tsunami warning... No Logbook inside, we put a little sheet of paper in it as an emergency logbook. TFTC
Another interesting find. Hubby found this one. I got some scratches for my troubles! TFTF
Found it. Motorhoming around the Marlborough Sounds with friends so had plenty of help. Will convert them to this activity. TFTC
Find #279 for the BAMMJams - what a great location for a cache, a public area but very private placement for a cache. The location earns a favourite point from us. The mini-BammJams chose a McDonalds toy to take out, and replaced it with a dice. TFTC - a quick paddle in the water and a couple of sandcastles made, and we were on our way.
Cache quickly found all though sunbather muggles didn't seem interested in our suspicious behaviour!!! Awesome spot. TFTC
