Think this one needs to be archived after months and months and months..... etc etc of DNFs.
This was our second adventure out to find a cache.
DNF, although after reading other logs, I'd say it's been pinched.
Beautiful views though on a gorgeous Autumn day

Spent a while looking around for this one with Geodaughter. Not found for a while can anyone confirm that it is still there.
Given last log and our own futile search, perhaps it may have disappeared again? Wasn't a complete bust though -- great view and a big roo made up for the cacheless hike to the top. Look forward to returning for this when we know it's back.
I can go check this out...
The hill's being backburned tomorrow, so..if it's there, it might be melted plastic tomorrow

OK thought I would look for this as cache appears to have been replaced in July, climbed the hill walked the long grass, found a suitable hole with nothing, more searching found a 'twisties' card and a pen. I suspect the same little angel has lifted this one again.
Done. Checked it out after work, definatly has gone.
Replaced it with a 1lt simesta. Ready to go again!
(keep forgetting how much of a .... it is to walk up that street. god damnit!)

Hmm, i live less than 750m away from here (And like Archer ACT, can see it from my window!), i can check up on it tomorrow
noticed the cache owner hasnt been on here since 2009. And considering this is my closest to home, my first DNF (LOL!), and one of my first finds, i can totally "adopt" this one.
(am also using this opportunity to dip a trackable through )

Unfortunately I think that this has been mugged. There is a lovely cache shaped hole amongst the rocks and a green texta nearby, but no other sign of the cache.
Went walking with geo-wife and geo-dog on a Canberra winter's morn to find this one. Good view from up here and well worth the trek up the steep roads to get here. Good place for a cuppa. Thanks BMarro for bringing us to this location. Overall an easy find - although the coords were out by about 10 to 15 metres, so you need to scramble around a bit.
This one has been taunting me for some time, being only 1.43 km from home and being able to see where it is out the window finally made me make the effort to pay it a visit. Close to dark and muggle and muggle pooch infested terrain made it interesting, but there was nobody at GZ. The tin has kept things amazingly dry and I'm happy to report that the Trackable that I'd give up as "I'm sure it will turn up one day" had turned up and has now been deposited. Thanks for the cache. I've wondered what these houses looked like close up.
First of Four for the day. Darn all the vegitation covering the rocks; made it hard to walk but an easy find. TFTC. Left: Frog TB
Very rocky indeed , there are really some amazing views from up here. Thanks for bringing us to such a lovely spot close to sunset. TFTC
Wow, brimming full of treasures! I picked out a cute plastic dragon with 2 heads and left a fish keyring from Vietnam made of shell. Walking up here at night is not something I'd recommend, lots of little hidden rocks under long grass with dips and deceptive heights but luckily an actual road took us up part of the way! TFTC.
Maybe not the best place to try at night with the surrounding rocky terrain, but the views were beautiful.
My son found it after we got close, he was very happy, took some toys and replaced them, we were there at sunset and it was a nice view.
Thanks

Wow, sort of like an antique! Haven't found such a hide before though the tin has seen better days. Took the racing TB
It was a very easy find with nice views. I now get why it is called Balboa. Cool hiding spot. Lots of long grass though. The lid doesn't close properly anymore so there were 2 cockroaches (that are still in there) so be careful! Took lego man in exchange for a trackable. TFTC.[:Dc
You know what?
I only just realized why this cache is called Balboa. Duhhhhhhhhhhh...
Which is kind of shameful, as i live down the street from here.
(i'm sorry. i just had to share my brain-fart with everyone..)

Ducked during a quiet time for this one - I wasn't sure which would be the best route (and I didn't want to run up those stairs!!!!), so I drove until I couldn't anymore and picked a likely parking spot. Wandered up the track and dodged all the mud puddles, clambered through the grass and had a fairly simple find bang on GZ

Recording a TB that I found in this cache, but which wasn't recorded as being there.
Great walk up the hill on my last day of holidays, thanks for the hide. T: dice L: marble. TFTC
Took a little while to locate, coz the dog and I had different ideas about which way to go. Roo poo was far more interesting to him!
Great views of the lights of Canberra. Kept following the path almost all the way around until we realised that a bit of cross country was needed. TFTC
took me a while looking around the rocks for this but eventually found it, nice hide and hice view, thanks for the cache
Found with Moneydork, Rediguana, Tofska, and Pohutukawa on our road trip to the Wagga Mega event.
Spotted a couple of roos nearby.

A somewhat easy find. Amazingly not wet and doing well with lots of interesting swaps inside. A nice 'hill' for a walk. TNLNSL
When we got the the container was open but all was dry. Amazing with all the rain we have had lately. Great views from the cache. TFTC
Pleasant walk, thank you. Lovely view. Container was a bit damp inside _ I'm guessing the rocks are causing an imperfect seal. The log was damp-only a little, but I think a different container might be a good idea before moister weather comes along.
Annaliese's first gc and our third. Been up here a few times and didn't even know it was there. Great fun. Tftc
Accompanied with sevabo for the day. Beauty view from GZ. Left 3 x TBs, SL. Thanks BMarro for organising the cache and hunt.
Everlasting and I decided to walk up in different direction, mine was walking longer to GZ, oh well good exercise for me Thanks for bringing us here.
Second cache for the day for Natalie and I. The inside of the cache container was very wet but the log was still dry.TFTC!
Nearly killed me walking up that small hill but I managed it. Nice cache, great view. TFTC
Lovely climb up the hill on a gorgeous day.
Found the interesting container and placed back in it's hide.
Thanks for bringing us up here. Cheers
Can you believe people actually walk up here for the fun of it without a cause.
No neither can we, that's what caches are for.

Find number 4 on a night caching raid. Found after wandering off the wrong way on top of the hill (was the GPSr's fault) Wonderful views at night. TFTC
Eighth and final cache for the afternoon on the South side, and my legs were happy for that. I have noticed a couple of differences between caches on the North and South sides - North side are more prolific, and in more mundane places. South side caches seem to, almost always, be at the top of a hill. Urghh, even though this hill isn't that big, approaching from the steeper direction made it a difficult climb for legs that were worn out from the morning adventures up Old Joe.
TFTC, I checked in every possible location before moving the right objects to find this cache, but was glad in the end. TFTC

My only find of the afternoon of 4 attempts. Thank goodness for an easy one. As a bonus, geokiddy chucked in his noisy and annoying plastic recorder as a swap!

Our 5th cache for the weekend, another nice walk and great views. Nothing taken or left. Like the name association .

This was our first cache ever!
Had a great deal of fun during the find...it was a really good spot to hide a cache. Cute collection of items inside, too. Definitely lovely views once we reached the top...and I think the kangaroos were very amused watching us hunt around for the cache.

Nice walk up the hill and the sunset was spectacular!!
Loved the cache tin and yet again another cache with great coords.
BUT the most astounding thing were the enormous kangaroos that just starred at me the whole time I was there,
They were bigger than me (ok...people who no me are saying thats not hard) but surely they have been fed some sort of growth enhancing food?
Thanks for the cache BMarro. I'm having such a great day here in Canberra

Strolled straight up to GZ and sat down. I waited until the hoard stopped jumping around and then they found it too. Nice spot.
Found by Mary & David at 1535. Oh dear another walk. We're a bit tired after several long walks this morning. Amazing views and plenty of roos to see provided some compensation. We've been to THAT spot in Philadelphia, and weren't tempted to emulate the namesake. Dropped off 'W17CJ7' TB. Our thanks to BMarro.
The 45 degree climb to GZ was certainly worth it for the views alone of all the fantastic vistas in the distance. The cache is nice and big too and a credit to you. Thanks to BMarro for the great panoramic cache and nice hide.
I almost cried when I saw ground Zero but as luck would have it I choose to start looking almost on top of it! The cache may need a new box soon as it looks very worn by the terrain and weather tho.

Easy wander up here with sproglet and doggies in tow. No running involved for a change (given sproglet) so no Rocky impersonations other than the ground we were on and the nearby trees. TFTC.
What a lovely day for a walk. The geopups and Mrs Bull went off in search of a cache. The pups loved their scramble and the cache was found quickly (really quickly, actually - I thought "this looks like the right sort of area - now I wonder where it is and when I looked down it was at my feet! That almost never happens for me!). The only casualty being a few prickles in my hand! View was nice, breeze was refreshing and the threatening drizzle was just that, no more.
Took TB hedgehog and buddha as wasn't sure what was part of the TB - left tape measure and Surfers Paradise keyring.
TFTC and the exercise.

Took the Beagle a couple of minutes to figure out why it was named as such, he had visions of running up a set of stairs to a Monument. I believe he was a little upset that he couldn't do the whole punching the air thing and that the ground was a little to uneven to dance around like Rocky.

The Geo-baby was starting to grizzle a little, but we decided we would try this one on the way home, with Agent Provocateur coming along.
Quite the hill this one, but well worth it for the spectacular views. Easy find and a nice quick find that meant we could get the little one home quickly.

4th find for the day (total of 10 for the weekend - a PB) and worth the trek for the great views. Found along with the Mercury Prawnheads and the geo-baby who did extremely well in the heat and enjoyed the walking... and a bit of icy pole too.
Recommend you wear sturdy shoes for this one and watch for snakes as there is long grass about in summer.

Ninth find for the day with the Geokids and mr_roo (although he sat this one out as he has already found it). Parked nearby and had a nice pleasant walk up the hill. Wow the views are great from here.

After Golden Number we came and got this one. My 16th for the day. Lots of Grass seeds and crickets flying through the air.
I don't know how, but I swear I managed to get grass seeds in my underwear on the walk from Golden Numbers to here ... I think the grass was a tad high ...

The lid of the container was hard to close after SL tho think I got it TFTC and the trip around canberra's south
My second success! 09.30 18/11/08
Found this one fairly easily after a frustrating time on Golden numbers.
Good views and I left a better pen to fill out the log.
Take the aerogarde if you're going up during the day as the flies are getting friendly.

This was the first one I have taken the wife with me, looked for half hour and couldn't find, went over to Golden Numbers for a quick recce before lunch also with no luck. Had another look on the way back and the Mrs found her first cache, now she is hooked!

What a fantastic location! 360 degree views and one of my favourite cache locations so far. Surely caching doesn't get any better than in Canberra. Short walk followed by a quick find. Took geocoin and will rehome shortly. TFTC.
Found quite quickly. Did not hang around to enjoy the view. A cold wind up there today. Thanks
Found thihs one as the sun set with geofamily and lots of head scratching as we seemed to be circling empty land.... eagle eyed Jacko found it. We have come to the conclusion that its better to enter the co-ords in better light.

Parked nearby and walked up some fairly inchoherent paths to the cache site. Once there we found the cache fairly quickly, and while the others logged, I bent the container back into shape, as it was quite out of shape.
On the way back down to the car we bumped into a rogaining guy we had seen a few hours earlier up the other mountain. He had asked us there if we were rogaining too, to which we replied, no, we are geocaching, and this time he said 'You guys must be rogaining'... It was awfully weird.
Thanks, Jezzza Xtreme

just as we were saying they do things differently in the southide, it seems like most of the suburbs have their own lookouts. ayway we made our way up as high as we could we the car and walked up to GZ, it was found quite easily. On our way down we bumped into another guy we have met at the top of another hill an hour or so ago.
Wandered up some rather twisty paths to the cache.
We actually ran into someone who we saw a few hours earlier at the top of another hill. Incredibly coincidental.
Thanks.
