Our 14th and final Cache of the day! Cache needs attention though. Container has perished to a point of not sealing. We didn't have a spare container so we placed the damaged one in a compostable shopping bag (all we had) for a bit of protection, but that's not going to last that long. TFTC

It pays to know a bit of history and this was a great idea to bring us out this way.Container is on its way out,lid will not stay on properly so woolworths came to the rescue to try and keep the rain out, tftc
Our last find after a week away since the June Long Weekend Event. The only aeronautical things today were the birds getting blown around by the icy winds.

Out on a lovely drive with spiderfoot11. Found this little cache, still relatively dry inside despite the lid issues. TNLNSL, TFTC.
An easy find once on the right road. No planes just peace and quietness. Thanks PG06 for the cache.
Had TomTom loaded with POI for this one
Tom was telling us to turn right into a paddock.
We decided not to stir up the locals and eventually managed a legal way to access the cache. TFTC PG06. Had a great day today love ya work.

Off to a flying start as we landed grabbed the cache and took off not quite at jet speeds. Thanks
Ergh... took the dirt road option instead of the easy path. Or should that read mud pit road? Oh well, we eventually got there in the end, and the sedan didn;t look took bad. Underneath was a different story. The cache was full of water, and the container needs replacing. Despite this, you couldn't get a drier logbook. Emptied the water out, and replaced. However, the horses had a very good look to see what we were doing. TFTC.
Cache lid is broken so cache is very wet. Please replace your cache container.
Cache was sitting in plain sight and had water inside it because the lid is broken. TFTC
Found on this beautifully warm day!!!!!! with Team scallywag and The Wild Gang along for the caching adventure. TNLN SL TFTC

The container is suffering from exposure to the elements, I drained it as the swaps were swimming the log book however is still in tack. TNLNSL TFTC
Added another plane to the hangar.Hangar needs a new roof as it's leaking through the roof.tnsl tftc another small piece of history we didn't know about.
Certainly a good open place to land an aeroplane.
Replacement container required as lid broken and moisture getting in.

Found on my second day caching in this part of Australia. My thanks to postiegirl06 and robzta for the cache. TomTom was up to its tricks around here but I soon sorted it with a severe tongue lashing!
Our last find for the afternoon as the daylight was getting dull. Time to head home. TFTC
Quick find (#14 of 23) on my semi-big day off work geocaching. TNLNSL. Edge of container lid is cracked, so it'll need replacement sometime soon. Cheers & TFTC!
A little out of the way spot to commemerate all those flying happenings but was a pleasant drive as we wound our way home, all wheels on the ground.
Thanks

A quick easy driveby and our second last for the day. Thanks postie girl
Our last find of the day. We got here via all the quality roads from pg's shed party cache, none of which we got bogged on [B)]. TFTC pg and robzta.
Great drive to this cache. Had a bit of trouble with the sun and dust as the sun was beginning to set but made it safely. Once we got there we had no troubles finding the cache. TFTC.
What an amazing drive through the hills and back blocks the GPSR sent me on from Postiegirl's Shed Party. The little used minor back tracks were a delight, although a little rough and rutted, particularly now the fields are green with crops. Just as well the roads had dried out since last weeks rain. This one looked like it may be a challenge due to the high, thick, grass but again the GPSR was right on target.
Despite the relatively remote location there were quite a few farmer Muggles about, cropping season has begun, so had to be quick at the cache.
The cache had been leaking a little and was damp inside but the log book was secure in a good plastic bag.

Magnificent countryside, but no evidence of any flying machines around here these days... Contents of cache were quite damp.

It is truly amazing where caching takes you, the things you can learn. I have travelled this road quite a bit in my life time. I never knew the history here about Sir Charles Kingsford Smith and the Southern Cross. It has been an interesting piece of history for me because one of my decendants was a mechanic aboard the Southern Cross.
Thanks for the hide and history lesson.

This would have to be one of the easiest caches we have found. As we pulled up to gz we noticed a white box sitting beside the road for all to see. Fearing it had been muggled we were rapt to see everything intact inside and in excellent condition except for the photo of Kingsford Smith and the Southern Cross which had been faded in the sun but still recognizable. We decoded the hint to ensure that we replaced the cache in the right location only to find that some animal has taken to resting there. We replaced a large rock on the cache and a lot of other rocks around it to try and deter the squatter from coming back

5th of 33 for the day while driving to Worlds End. Found after a bit of beating around the bush(es). Thanks for the history lesson.
Well there has to be one in every crowd doesn't there? I note I'm the only DNF!!..........well I was night caching on my way back from the Riverland and tried it by car headlights with the Elf asleep. The long VERY WET GRASS, WHICH SOAKED MY SHOES AND SOCKS didn't help things. So I gave up, took off my soaked footwear and dried it on full heater blast until I got into Kapunda for my next attempt [:.D]
I'll by back, I want to see this area in daylight.

Thx for the history PG06. Very interesting not much flat ground to land a plane though. TNLNSL
I think Dik did too go a job of hiding. It took us ages to find. Eventually did though.Took a balloon and left an owl (the only flying thing we could find in our stash)

#41 of 60 finds on the Kapunda/Eudunda day of my Adelaide trip, in company with acts2youthgroup. We found this one at 1655. Not having read the cache page before arriving, I wondered about what could possibly be significant about this place to justify a cache hide. However, after opening the cache, all was revealed. My father-in-law grew up in Bendigo, in Victoria, and he remembered Kingsford-Smith visiting the area with the Southern Cross. His overriding memory was discovering that the 'plane had a 'room' inside it. Up to that point, aeroplanes generally had a cockpit and nothing else! I made no exchange. Thanks to postiegirl06 and robzta for the cache. Cheers, dak.
#41 of 60 cache finds for day three of our Adelaide trip, in the company of dak’s Emu Mob. Today we headed to Kapunda and Eudunda to find a few. I have to admit my ignorance on this one, I thought what was the point of hiding a cache here; I was glad you had the history sheet in the cache as it revealed all and I could appreciate what took place here. Thanks postiegirl for the cache.
Rats , I was hoping to see some old planes, instead I saw a plain

Who said night time caching is fun? Maybe they should try it with two geokids(5 & 7), both with head torches on. With light bouncing everywhere, except where we wanted them to, we somehow managed to find this one. TNLN TFTC
SA_Mystery Inc was on fire finding Caches today and while we were scratching our heads she came up a winner.

I was on a roll today it's nice to know that every now and again I can beat the master parrot.
This was our first stop on the way to Eudunda for the event. How appropriate that it was a PG cache . While searching for the cache, the sheep in the paddock across the road must have thought we were there to feed them, as they all wandered over to check us out. By the time we had found it they must have realised that we were a dead loss in the food department and wandered away again. No swaps. Cheers Postiegirl.
Busted Parrothead and family at the cache site. Would you belive nearly 3500 combined caches and we could not find it. Daughter number one on less than 100 picked it up straight away.

Flew out to this one and a smooth landing to claim the FTF! Nothing like a bit of night time caching! Especially when you have a couple of muggles on board (actually potential new geocachers!) All they need is a GPSr if anyone out there has a spare one!! Pity we couldn't see anything of our surroundings, oh well doesn't matter!
