I too checked this one out recently. I had a good, long look for it but found nothing.

It's time for this one to be archived so the spot can be reused. It's a lovely spot, aching for a new cache.

23-Nov-14
In need of CO attention. Unfound since April this year.

22-Nov-14
We did a good search for this one and then saw the string of DNF's on this cache. This one has not been seen since April this year and is in need of CO intervention.

22-Nov-14
Nope! No joy for us here-looks like this one may have swan dived down below!-booooo! Sad

Anyway, thanks The Sundowners Smile

Out for a drive with JLT, with lunch at the local pub and some caching thrown in.
FTF. Sad

13-Jul-14
After an afternoon at Captains Flat we thought we'd try one more. We are pretty sure we knew what we were looking for and as someone who places caches I like your thinking, but sorry to say I suspect what was a clever and fun cache is no longer there.

05-May-14
Missed this one

05-May-14
Missed again

23-Apr-14
On a morning ride out to Captains Flat and back. Took the little detour to find this one. So peaceful listening to the water running in the stream below. Made a quick find, logged my visit and was on my way. TFTC.

Find 05 of 18 for the day and #1588 in total.

Anywhere else we would be worried about the cache being lost due to the damaged lid but with a bit of care it may just last a while longer.
Loved the old rail bridge.

Echo 4 - Spice 1
("\(0o0)/") Thanks for the caching fun!

The lid of the container is chipped (sun exposure) and thus does not fit onto the bottom tightly. Given the nature of the hide, it might soon end up in the drink!

01-Dec-13
A nice spot with good views of the river. Spotted the cache without too much trouble. Container not in the best condition though.

Thanks

30-Nov-13
Couldn't resist trying for this one even though it was off the road and hubby was waiting for lunch - very late I was! Sixth for the day and was I apprehensive about returning it to its position after I had signed the log. Deserves a favourite from me. Great hide The Sundowners. TFTH SL

13-Jul-13
Another old bridge in the middle of nowhere:-) A cool hide, steady hands will
do the job.

30-Mar-13
A nice quick find today with jusojara. The river was flowing nicely today but I wouldn't want to see it in full flood! TFTC

30-Mar-13
After a failed attempt on the one about 4 years ago we finally were back for a second look and I spotted it within a couple of minutes. we are not sure how we missed it last time but it was good to sign this one off today on this lovely old bridge. TFTC

29-Mar-13
A quick find with Clemdoog, then a quick retrieval from the creek below. Whoops! Butter fingers! It remained floating on top of the water and in 1 spot, so it was an easy grab from below. No water got in the cache. Phew! Signed, replaced and we were on our way. Thanks for bringing us here Sundowners and TFTC, and a little extra adventure!

29-Mar-13
Quick find, although had to find it a second time after it was dropped in the creek :s with mcktcj. Tftc

23-Mar-13
We tried and tried.....and tried some more, but we did not find what we were looking for Sad

22-Mar-13
This was our first time out looking for caches after trying to find two other caches we found this one. Great hide.

03-Mar-13

02-Mar-13
Quick find with justjessie on our sunday drive...is is not going to last much longer and the cache lid is perished...

01-Mar-13
Decided to do a few caches on the way to the "big Hole". Fairly gloomy day so TFTC for making it a fun trip. cool concept for a cache! I was apprehensive returning it, but made sure it didn't slip into the good flowing (after recent rains) Molonglo River.

01-Feb-13
Found this cache while staying in Bungendore for the Country Music Muster and doing some caching in the Captains flat area. Cutting back thru on the dirt road to Bungendore and came across this old swinging bridge. Fabulous.
Nice clever hide!!
Thanks The Sundowners for the hide.
The Bushies.

Found it, what a clever cache

05-Oct-12
Looked in all the wrong places, but the name says it all. Enjoyed this one - it is very creative. TFTC

01-Apr-12
This one kept us looking for awhile.

01-Apr-12
219. Found with Relish64 whilst doing the Captains Flat Circuit. A bit of a search required. Spotted from a different angle and had to change our approach. TFTC.

05-Nov-11
I was parked on the bridge (naughty me) and had looked in a few spots when it occurred to me to try from below. Just then I saw a car coming so decided to move on. Turns out they parked on the roadside just before the bridge. Must be locals, so more searching would have been impractical.

14-Jul-11
It was an easy find. The clue was creative and it helped too. Very creative hide also. Nice bridge. Thanks.Twisted

12-Jul-11
The log is in very poor condition from having been rolled up in the container

12-Jul-11
A very nice location with a fair bitter of water in the river

13-Jun-11
Great cache

01-May-11
Out on an epic caching run with Jmanjezza (and geokid Lauren).

Loved the unusual hide and the beautiful views. Thanks for the effort on this one!

01-May-11
Out on a caching run with Doppelfrog and geo daughter Lauren.

Nice spot looking at the bridges and river.

08-Apr-11
A swinging micro on an historic bridge.

08-Apr-11
Nice water sounds here, interesting container, 131 and I enjoying our Molonglo meandering today. No need to add photos of these great old bridges--its already done. Sign is long gone as well!

06-Mar-11
I thought this might be difficult to spot - a micro way out here - but it wasn't. Quick find and sign then on our way.

06-Mar-11
Little diversion on the main raid - the team pondered for a while on the purpose of the height warning sign for the bridge where the only high thing to hit was the sign. And it appeared that the sign was hit from the other way in any case ! Ha ha !

06-Mar-11
Ahh, this one had me searching for far too long!

Scored after bout 15 minutes of scampering around the general area, then: "how did I miss that?" moment arrived.

Nice one, thanks for the hide.

06-Mar-11
This was a nice detour. Spotted the sign. I think bigger than 3 metre trucks tried to go under it.

05-Mar-11
Was not swinging today but found pretty quick with previous log comments - is a good one TFTC

10-Feb-11
I always enjoy stopping to wander over an olde wooden bridge Smile
Better yet if there is a cache attached Big Grin
With a 7 tonne load limit on this bridge I didn't expect too many heavy vehicles to come thundering across as I poked around for the cache.
I found the cache quickly and retrieved it.
Being careful not to drop it into the flowing river below Razz

The local council is serious about stopping heavy traffic from sneaking across the bridge.
That 3 metre limbo bar has done its job a few times, judging from the dent's it has copped and the angle it is leaning at Big Grin
Just as I was leaving, a truck appeared carrying a high and narrow load on the tray.
I'll assume the driver's name was Kenny Wink
After a couple of tries it became apparent that the truck wasn't going to cross this bridge today Smile
Kenny must know another way to get to the job site 'cos he soon went back to the highway.

TFTC and entertainment.

09-Jan-11
Found with stacky68. I had been to this old bridge before but had gotten a dnf. After reading acouple of previous logs I knew exactly where to look. After a few minutes of searching I hear "found it". TFTC

09-Jan-11
My first genuine find honors whilst caching with mr_roo. He had told me about his previous dnf and I hadn't actually scoped this one for our day out at Captain's Flat so I didn't know much about it. I just happened to look down in the right place, but I'll still hold onto this success for as long as possible. TFTC

17-Sep-10
Wow, love these locations, could stay and play all day however light was fading and I was heading home to Braidwood after a day in Canberra. This wasn't quite what I was expecting and gave me a chuckle - well done and very effective! Beautiful scenery and a pleasure to visit this cache, thanks for putting it here. TNSL, Big Grin.

03-Sep-10
I love these old bridges. TFTC

28-Aug-10
Found it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We were looking under the bridge at first but then figured out we should look on top then found it easily.
Love exploring old bridges, so this was perfect.

Thanks Sundowners, a great end to a great day out exploring.

17-Jul-10
A nice find to start the day on a scenic drive to the coast

04-Jul-10
Great hide, took me a while to find it.
An emergency vehicle flew past while I was looking so had to try and look inconspicuous! [8)]
Which was difficult!
TFTC!

20-Jun-10
I'm glad this wasn't a busy road, it took some time to find as my GPS was jumping around. TFTC.

19-Jun-10
What a clever hide. How long did it take me to realise that I can not see what is right in my face! TFTC.

25-Apr-10
Took a bitbut we finally found it!

TFTC

25-Apr-10
Was looking just above it. Always think these are harder then they are. Love the area, and the bridges.

Funny as this bridge looks the the sister bridge of the old Tharwa bridge. TFTC!

25-Mar-10
First for the day. Top spot wonder when the last time this flooded was.
TFTC

08-Mar-10
Found on our caching run through Captains Flat and Braidwood. We found ourselves doing a bit of head scratching with this one until I went over an area already searched and it sort of 'stood out'!

08-Mar-10
We looked all over for this one and was about to give up when W6R looked at it again and there the little devil was. Very clever but simple hide. Waved goodby to Dad and Dave as we left for the next cache.

27-Feb-10
cache was found really quick after traveling the ruff road to the bridge, and we were off to the next find ! thanx

26-Jan-10
On of the many on a marathon Australia Day caching trip in the area with Fore!, allrounder, BevJo and Huxley the geo-pup. Cool location and took quite a bit of searching in the area which is always fun. Finally spotted by BevJo after geo-puppy had been over the whole area. Cool little hide TFTC TNLN Fun Big Grin

26-Jan-10
Fourth find for the day on a caching trip with Fore!, Shadow!, allrounder, and Huxley.
I was lucky to spot this one in an area were allrounder had looked earlier.

Loved the bridge! Big and old but nice.

TFTC!

26-Jan-10
This was number 3 for the day - we searched low, then high, if you know what I mean... we left the geomobile up on the "main" road, and would you beleive that I think about 4 cars passed us on this bridge whilst we were searching!! Who would have thunk!!!

TFTC Sundowners - good one!

26-Jan-10
Found @ 11:26am with Fore!, Shadow!, BeveJo and Huxley the geohound

3rd of 21 finds for me today. We searched on both levels for this one before BeveJo was the one to spot it, very clever, TFTC!!!

26-Nov-09
Neat idea. Not too hard to spot. Nice old bridge.
Thank you.

03-Nov-09

02-Aug-09
Nope us too. Looked up under and in a nearby tree. Sigh Sad Nice bridge tho

12-Jul-09
Stopped in at this one today and (apart from nearly getting blown off the bridge) after looking from above and below we weren't able to locate this cache.

28-Jun-09
The four of us couldn't find it on the coordinates given. Nice ride to location anyway.

21-Mar-09
A relatively quick find by aboreham whilst we tried to ensure small cachers didn't leap over the side! I had been over this bridge before heading for Tillalilly

21-Mar-09
Found with aboreham, traineediplomat and family. Just backdating my logs!

21-Mar-09
Found with my parents (fergle, traineediplomat), my brother (LittleAmbassador) and aboreham.

21-Mar-09
Found with my family (I am only 9 months old!)

21-Mar-09
Thanks to traineediplomat for his memory and height

21-Mar-09
This afternoon I headed out with Big Matt as I had quite a few caches in this area that I hadn't yet found.

A nice quick find on the way home. After a little joking about this being "Swinger's Bridge" I spotted the cache and all became obvious. A neat little hide. TNLN and TFTC.

14-Mar-09
This little cache was indeed swinging today! Had to keep a tight grip on the log while signing to avoid it being blown away. All is well and not a troll in site Wink

28-Feb-09
A neat wee cache thanks. But what a great bridge! Couldn't resist leaving a picture with my log!

08-Feb-09

Left wife and sleeping Geokid in car while I attempted to quickly find the cache. After a few minutes of looking I had no idea so I asked the wife for help. She quickly located cache without any problems.

signed log and we were on our way.

26-Jan-09

Found with Ultra Violet Z, SuperJaz & Bewilderbeest. We had a great time driving through the country seeing places and finding caches. I'm catching up on logging my finds, sorry its a bit late.

Thanks for the cache

26-Jan-09
Fortunately Bewilderbeest found this one fairly quickly - I think it would have taken me a lot longer to figure it out. A very nifty hide in a great location.

Find #4 of Team Bananaphone's Australia Day Captains Flat tour.

26-Jan-09
thank you The Sundowners for this enjoyable cache. [^]

26-Jan-09
Fortunately there's not much traffic to worry about while searching for this cache. We enjoyed listening to the chorus of frogs, and quickly found the cache.

Signed the log as Team Bananaphone, the 4 of us were having an Aussie Day picnic/caching day in the area.

Thanks very much

25-Jan-09
Found at 15:25 - the sixteenth on my caching daytrip out with matt_stomper and shell_seeker.

There was a car parked at the bridge as we approached - the occupants smiled and waved as we passed, and we drove a bit further up the road before returning, wondering all the while if they were cachers. They were gone when we returned, and a check of the logbook later showed that they weren't cachers.

A great old bridge - matt_stomper spotted this cache first, and also did the scrambling to retrieve it.

Thanks Sundowners Smile

25-Jan-09
Found this one from the ground underneath and something caught my eye swinging. Nice cache. Found with shell_seeker and sw2092. TFTC!!!

25-Jan-09
