Id say this one is gone. I cleared out the obvious log and checked a few other trees. Doesnt seem to be anything. Hate to see a well-aged cache get archived so I hope Im wrong.
Beautiful walk and found the place where it should have been, needs replacing
Camping at Duvauchelle for a couple of nights after setting up the tent we decided to walk to this one, quite a bit of up and down, it was very hot and I wished I'd bought some water with me, co-ords we out a little, but found it tucked away. All in good order. Lovely views. TFTC!
Wow! so many steps, coming and going. Caution; In frosty weather, some shaded areas of the track were found to be very slippery, take care. The cache was a very quick find; TFTC
This involved a bit of a hunt. Not the stump, but rather tucked up inside a living log. We enjoyed the views, and then slogged back up the stairs to the car. TFTC!
Not an instant find but after coming down all those steps I wasn't going to give up easily.
Finally spotted the cache when I approached from the right side. TFTC.

Found this one a bit tricky as had someone people walking around whilst I was searching. Forgot my pen so may need to come back! Great spot.

Nice walk down to the cache. Someone has a hammock very near, but luckily they were no using it. TFTC!!
Found this one on our (almost daily) lockdown excercise. Beautiful views on the bay. Enlightens our forced stay! Thanks!
Just what we needed after a rainy day yesterday. Lovely walk with a stop at the beach.
Beautiful spot. Found a few logical places but had to go a bit further to the correct log, TFTC
Beautiful day for trip to Akaroa with Busy Paws. A lovely walk we didn't know about, had fantails for company. Great hide for the cache all in good condition and dry. Thanks for bringing us here and the cache BK&J.
Out for the day with coconuts3 . Quite a walk to the cache and a "not find" was not on the agenda! This was all nice and dry tucked up in it's spot. TFTC and the sound of birds. the trudge back wasn't as bad as I thought it would be! Good company and some laughs and stories.
So happy to share this family adventure with Matthew and Heather! Our third find. Cool elephant magnet to add to our treasure jar.
Last one for us while staying in the area with friends. This was a nice walk around the bay to find this one.
Out for a scenic morning walk around the Ngaio point loop track. Didn't find the spot until I approached it for a second time from another direction.
Located ok. Nice spot.

We came down the steps from Monarch Drive, a steep walk down, and of course back up again. Once we reached the point, our GPS directed us into the bush, and we found a small clearing just above the corner, which led us into the cache. TFTC
I’ve come across the ditch from to “tramp” (a new word for me) the Routeburn Track and see some of this beautiful South Island of New Zealand .
Today Swellerfungus and I have come for a drive to Akaroa, picking up some caches along the way. This one was off track a bit but we needed to get out of the and have a walk. We walked from Ngaio Point. Stairs, lots of stairs down that we will need to come back up. Found the GZ easily enough and then a bit of bush bashing. GPS was a bit jumpy but we persisted and eventually Swellerfungus had the cache in his hands. Now some views to admire and they are certainly worth viewing. Now time to tackle those stairs again.
Thanks for taking us off the beaten track.

I nice walk after the drive this morning. LadySim and I struggled with locating it, but the GPSr worked better than the phone! Thanks for the cache!
Found with StreetWalker on a weekend trip to Akaroa, our first visit in over 7 years.
I had found this cache with SW many years ago, but had neglected to sign the log book. Back today to right this wrong. We started out at the parking co-ords and headed down. I don't remember it being this steep! Or maybe the passage of time has had an effect . It was rather slippery in places too, and we had trouble staying upright.
Even though we had found the cache before, it wasn't a quick find, perhaps interpretation of the hint was the problem. Anyway, great to finally get my name in the log book and get away from the annoying barking dog who didn't stop the whole time we searched (and continued as we walked back to the car). Good view back to Onawe, where we had just been. TFTC.

Quick find. Walked round the track only to find the cache at the bottom of the garden of the house we were staying in! So short walk back afterwards. Introduced friends to the joys of geocaching. Cache found by a first-timer.
TG and I headed out as the hills were ablaze. The traffic down Taitapu Road was amazing. On the way home the traffice as still there and the flames were even higher. It made for a dramatic evening have ash rain down on us as we were walking and searching for caches. In the torch light we couldn't figure out what the big chunks floating in the air was until we clicked, it was ash. Dramatic sunsets. Quick find and then an ashy walk back.
Thanks for the cache BK&J.

I managed to get on a work trip to Christchurch for two weeks but was faced with a dilemma. Do I go for quantity or quality? I didn't have a vehicle to use all to myself so was somewhat limited to what I could get. In the end I just found what I could when I could but the webcam and the virtual were top of my list.
We planned a day trip over to Akaroa with a few others from work (all of which were muggles). The plan was to have brunch and then complete a couple of walks. Finding geocaches wasn't the driving force behind the days trip so I just grabbed what I could.
Found this cache while we were off for walk. I think I had the whole group looking for this one but I still managed to find it first. Lovely walk with great views.
Thanks for the cache and the smiley.

My mission is my first 3 day tramp on Stewart Island. The Seagnoid has Xmas off so we are off on an epic adventure with Zara around the South Island. Zara stays put at Little River, so with trusty steed Toby, the Seagnoid navigating via phone & scribe and I delegated to log blogger and driver, we are off to explore Akaroa
A bush bash down from Monarch Drive to finally connect with - yeh - a track - whats new. This seems to happen a lot with us. But get the cache bagged at GZ OK. Now to get back. Cheers

TaybeeDragon and I are off for a three day walk on Stewart Island. But we have a camper, so once you add in getting there and back, it's a three week trip. Day 3: Akaroa to Akaroa.
Akaroa was not on our original plan, and so I don't have the caches in my GPS. But that's okay they are in my cellphone. Alas my cellphone just went off line which it does occasionally when the GPS is in use. An update got published yesterday as I write this three weeks later that fixes hte problem, yay, but that did not help then. So the dragon and I were looking for this cache with name, coordinates and size only. No description, no hint. And no waypoints. We bush bashed down through an empty section from Monarch Drive hoping to pick up a track. Yep, there's a track! Nice track, too. Getting a bit overgrown, needs a bit more use from the locals.

Lovely peaceful walk with amazing views. First time doing this walk after many years of visiting Akaroa.....Tftc
Out for a walk with my niece and nephew. Mr 6 made short work of finding this - will make cachers out of them yet! Saw dolphins as well so a great walk! TFTC
After chopping firewood we had to walk a little bit around and did the walk as there was this cache as a motivation. Tftc!
After a false start about a year ago because the track was closed finally cameback and found the cache quickly. TFTC.
We were looking forward to this trip to New Zealand.
After hours of flight from Belgium we finally arrived, picked up our Road Trip Special and started going.
First we organised a little event to meet the locals. It was a blast and we've met some nice people!
After that we did a whole tour around the South Island in 3 weeks, sleeping in the car or our tent.
It was great!
Did the walk. Nice views up there!
TFTC!

Except of the sign, nothing stops you to go on the track. The gate was open so we went inside anyway. The track is absolutely fine, so just go for it. Easy find. TFTC!
Track is closed due to fallen trees (sign by gate). Also please note that container in description (by Ngaio Point Entrance) is no longer there. There is a sign for the track now though. Will return to find when track reopens.
We found it! Took a bit of searching. We're actually staying in the house right above where this cache is.
My son found it after a brief search. A lovely walk on a lovely summers day and with the added incentive of a geo cache it was added motivation to accompany the "old man " instead of sitting around playing on the smartphone!. We did the whole Ngaio point loop walk and enjoyed the Akaroa harbour views.
Took us a while to find until I went back and read the instructions and hint! Then it was straight to it. Nicely hidden! Tftc
headed for this one, as i was going down all i could think of was damm i gotta climb back up this, well worth the visit, and i was very grateful for the seat on the way back.
Taking our time getting back to Christchurch. Taking in some caches at lovely locations. TFTC
It was a bit of a mission to get this cache.... we had already done a lot of climbing up and down prior to this cache No.15 for the day. A bit of a search for the cache with Muggles and their dogs appearing from all over the place. The slog back up was felt.
Found during a caching weekend in the Akaroa Area with Sharkiefan and macpacmum. I was dragging my heels on this one and needed help to complete. TFTC
Passed by quite often, but today we decided to stop and go for a little walk. The views are great and we realised again why we love geocaching: You would not have stopped here otherwise. TFTC
TFTC Lovely find at the end of our day Geocaching. Did a swap. Close to my sisters home.

Yorkshire P and I took RogoBaby and her friend "AL" to this cache on "AL"'s request - she had been bitten by the caching bug and wanted more! It was a beautiful, hot day. Hardly a cloud in the sky and low tide, so perfect weather for this one. The walk over the rocks was great and we stopped to collect shells and look at the crabs at various spots. It's a nice walk up through the trees too - a well maintained track. RogoBaby was in charge of the GPS as we neared GZ. Once we were nearby there was a rush of activity as we all sort to find-it-first. "AL" made the find - well done. And, a rather tricky find it was too. We sat in the shade making swaps and signing to book. The walk back to the car was almost as nice as the trek to find the cache - but without the excitement.

All the way from Sweden to find some NZ caches! Absolutely marvelous views from this location Thanks for bringing us here!
Took a run down from the top on a sunny day... and a slog back up again. 119 steps from GZ back to the car TFTC, lovely spot.
Thanks for showing this wonderful place. Although it was a bit difficult for us to find the entry ... Finally we succeed, had a nice walk and found the cache directly. Ka.oT
Wow what a treat today turned out to be. After arriving awfully late into our accommodation last night at Akaroa it was a very slow start for us this morning.
We awoke to a magnificent view of the harbour in the distance from our window. There in the middle of the harbour was a Cruise ship with 1950 passengers (Sun Princess)
Well this cache seemed easy enough just a 300+ metre walk from the roadside parking point. Out of the car we hopped and then we saw the steps! Well no way Mrs Felix could do all those steps and we couldn't see them all.
So back to the car for her and Mr Felix continued onto the cache. Lovely views today so clear. In fact dare we say it, it was indeed a touch warm after the first week being only 8 degrees during the day today was 24degrees.
After climbing back up 128 steps, Mr Felix had actually broken out into a sweat. Perhaps he should have taken it a little bit slower

Went down the track from Monarch Drive then plodded slowly back up all those steps! At least the sky is blue today. TFTC.
Turism in Akaroa today with geocaching around. This is the 1st one today. Quite easy to go there... Much harder to come back. Our littlke boy finished on his father's shoulders . Nice views as all the caches around this peninsula. Merci pour la cache !
Heading home after a couple days family holiday in Akaroa. Stopped off on the way past. Pity there isn't a track entrance at the end of the bottom road, you're pretty close to the cache there! was tempted to just wander through one of the empty sections but wasn't sure of the terrain so parked up back at the top entrance and speed round the track whilst the family waited in the car...bit greasy underfoot but got there. A quick search netted the cache and I was soon speeding back to the car. Great spot with great views. Shame really that more and more of these 'vistas' are being lumped with subdivisions and mansions.
This was the last one we found on a Caching Weekend around Akaroa.A nice little walk down from the New Subdivision, just a note to say that the Container on the road has gone.TFTC

Cache found with Krtik together.
There we spent 6 weeks in NZ on bicycles. Nice trip thru both islands, interesting nature, wildlife, people, campsites, geocaching, etc... I'd like come back sometime...

Nice cache, would never have known anbout this walk otherwise, great hiding place.
Very steep walk for such a hot day, but we were rewarded by finding the cache without too much hunting.
Not easy to find the right way without a map an the discription, but I did it an enjoyed the great view. TFTC
With the opportunity to get away for a day and a half, I decided on a caching expedition to Akaroa and the surounding hills. This was find 31 of 39 and the fourth walk of the day. Walked down from the subdivision. Took GC. TFTC.
Parking coords would be very helpful on this one. Otherwise easy find. TFTC!

Thanks to the excellent cache descirption describing where the track was for this one, I had no problems.
I made my way down through the lovely bush.. taking in the scenery as I went. I certainly did pick a good day to visit Akaroa. I got to GZ and found the prize after a small hunt. It is in good condition. A great area. TFTC BK&J
