A long planned trip away finally came to fruition as we headed off to Geelong after a gap of some years to catch up with caching friends. There is always a good variety of caches and hides to search for and Geelong itself is a pretty spot with lots of places to explore. Plenty of history and lovely scenery with the bay, riverside, open paddocks and bushland. We particularly enjoyed the many trails and riverside paths where Mrs SKI could give her new ebike a workoutA great time was had with lots of laughs and ribbing as we searched for the various caches and wondered what we might find next. We also had the chance to catch up with some great local cachers on a lovely evening out.Logs signed as SKI Pair, SP or RASP.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache maccamob.**SKI Pair****
We found Grave Situations on our weekend anniversary caching tour of the Bellarine. We attempted this cache on Friday on our way to Queenscliff and after a good 1/2 hour of searching came up empty handed. As our dinner reservation was soon, we left for another time.Returning today, after fixing an error in our mathematics, EB99 went up to GZ and said,"here it is"Palm slap for the Chief, bragging rights for Debb Thanks maccamob for hiding this cache so that we could come and enjoy ourselves
It was time to head to Geelong and partake in another of my hobbies: photographing headstones for people researching their family trees. Today I was visiting both Geelong West and Geelong East Cemeteries, and as this is the last of the caches we have yet to find in this cemetery, we decided to rectify that today.
A bit of a wander around, well, a long wander around (I resisted the urge to attempt to solve this one online), and we had the coordinates we needed.
We found the cache exactly where the coordinates said it would be. It is fascinating how often Laurus nobilis is planted as a remembrance tree in cemeteries. It is also somewhat sad that some planted cease to be tended, most probably because the family has died out or the grave is forgotten.
Thank you, maccamob, for this Mystery cache and a pleasant wander around this large cemetery. A favourite point from us as we, like you, love a good cemetery cache.

Wow, what a fun afternoon. Loved this challenge. We had to re-do our route as we missed a couple. But we did it!,, After working out the final coordinates..we used the clue. Hard to get log out but signed and placed back.
Thankyou for this brilliant cache
Thankyou for this brilliant cache
Jenno3 and I have slowly been ticking off the mysteries in the cemetery this year. The other day we hatched a plan to head down again today. Our Geelong arrival time coincided with a nearby CITO which we were more than happy to attend and help out. We soon had this one finished off and found. Retrieving the log book was another matter!! Jenno3 headed one way and I headed the other to get some tweezers to get the log out. Upon returning the cache I had the absolute bajeebas scared out of my by an unfamiliar voice asking if I’d found it!! After a quick chat and laugh Deanside, geopup and I parted ways and I caught up with Jenno3. Tftc
We have been frequent visitors to this cemetery over the last few months determined to solve and collect all her. Had most of these ones on our first trip here. Found the last one…. Last visit but left it till today’s visit to grab the cache. Awesome puzzle and hide love cruising cemeteries seeing the beautiful headstones and sad tales. Tftc
Thanks maccamob for the puzzle and great exploration of my favourite places to wander. Perfect timing as I headed to GZ As Kenare was right in front of me and had the cache in hand… whew, saved me a couple of hours looking for it I would say! Happy trails, Deanside
I did a few laps, I cried a little however it wasn’t enough to enable me to find the clues I needed. 3 short. Oh well. A nice morning walk was had anyway.
After giving up and writing my note I decided to sit down with the numbers I had. It looked like I had enough to work out all but the last number on the eastern. Well that could only be a certain string so I headed off to look for John and Eliza. Imagine my delight when I spotted them and shortly thereafter the cache. Well worth the 2.5 hours committed here. I do enjoy a giant cemetery multi. TFTC
The first time we came here, it was so hot and humid! Finding the items took us a bit because our GPS was always way out. We had gathered most of the info except two and decided it was just too hot to re-walk all of it so we would come back, with print outs of the other puzzles and do them all at once! Except we came back for the ad lab. I couldn't help looking around and facepalmed when I saw one we would have walked past. One left! So we wandered, thinking we would just see if it's close.. when we were about to decide to leave and follow our original plan, of course we found it! But were we right? Well, we input our cords and went to have a look. Not long after, the cache was in hand!!

In Avoca for the weekend and doing another maccamob cemetery multi reminded us of a few weeks ago in Geelong when we finally found this hide on the second attempt.
Very proud of our efforts here.
A lack of daylight and an anomaly with our numbers sent us packing on that occasion. After some homework and another trip to the area many weeks later we could sign the log.

Whittlesea Mega Wobble and Wade Tour: Day 4: Plus 1 Geelong to Whittlesea
Once again myself and Anymules were in Victoria on our way to a Mega event. We arrived in Geelong last night and this morning we rectified a few DNFs from three years ago did some labs and picked up our mate Bushfire and headed northwards toward the Mega [^] We stopped for a few new caches and lab caches along the way. - As you do.
We did the hard work three years ago but ended up with a DNF. We sought some help and soon realized we had a couple of digits wrong. Although only 20 metres out we never found John and Eliza. Three years on and we soon had them found and a quick search had the cache in hand.
***Thanks maccamob for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***
Logs prepared and published through GSAK.

Three years ago Brisal and I had a DNF here. Today we returned with the aim of fixing that issue. We got back to a familiar spot, and made a meticulous search which finally returned a positive result.
I found your D3.5/T1.5 Micro Mystery called Grave Situations at 09:08 on 17 November 2022. It was find #16151 for me. Thank you maccamob for placing this cache for our enjoyment in the wonderful state of Victoria.

I've had this one solved for quite some time and had even had a look for it a while ago without success due to limited time. Here again today for some clues for other mystery caches , I figured that I'd give it another shot given that I had a little bit more time at my disposal.
After a fruitless search of the 'obvious' structure, a read of the hint focussed my search activities and that finally had me with the stash in hand at 17:00.
TNLNSL, although a couple of our geocoins had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks maccamob.

I love this cemetery, steeped in history with so many interesting stories. Thanks maccamob for highlighting some of them. We (LetThemEatCache and I) drive in as the day is wet and windy and no one is in sight. LTEC had already completed some of the waypoints a long time ago - although she could not remember which waypoint was which so we randomly chose one to go to. Well, much to LTEC surprise it was the one she was missing from her previous search!
We now had the information we needed to find the cache. It was tucked quite a way in as you might imagine for a cache placed such a long time ago. We happily signed as saltyco and jumped back in the car to get out of the rain and wind. I highly recommend giving this this one a go! Fav point from me. Thanks maccamob!

This adventure started three years ago, when I was so very new (about 6-months) into caching. Looking back, this may have been our first multi-style puzzle. I got very confused between the locations, their WPs, and the photos. I was only using my phone and didn’t know about checking waypoints on the app. And it was a wintery, wet August day, so we left before GZ could be found, even though we only had one of the “Margarets” to reveal her secret.
Knowing that today we would be in the area helping out at a nearby CITO, Snips and Co and myself decided to target this cache. We had both attempted it to a certain degree and knew that by putting our brains together we would get a yellow happy face result. And it worked. Plus, I was so much more experienced, and came prepared with everything printed off and notes scrawled across the pages. S&Co just happened to choose one of the locations, and parked close to the missing Margaret (a complete fluke, love it). I say parked because, well it was raining hard and I didn’t want my notes to get smudged! Ah that elusive last number to plug into the formula, and the cache was found.
Thanks again to another interesting and fun cemetery cache, maccamob. I do hope they last an eternity. Cache on
**The Cache:** All good here. Replaced as found.
**TNLN.** Signed Log as SALTECO (Snips and Co and LTEC combined!)

We came to this one after a few false starts and every time I drove past, it beckoned us in... So much history in the tour. Thank you for the cache. Not saying our coordinates were spot on but we are always a resourceful team.
I decided to do a road trip along the Great Ocean Road this week. It’s been a long time since I travelled along this area and it was certainly before I was into caching! Before starting, I teamed up with OzHockeyChick for the day to finally finish some grave hunting in Geelong and tick off some LGA caches in Queenscliff.
This was the 5th time visiting this cemetery to complete these mystery caches. The first trip we were way to ambitious and only made it part way through our task. The second trip was washed out part way through and we almost melted during our third trip, bailing in favour of ice cream. The last trip we managed to complete all but one of our tasks, leaving today to finish up the loose ends and find our treasures.
Nature has taken its course here and it took a few minutes to locate the cache. Thanks for an excellent journey!
Thanks maccamob for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

I love cemeteries and the stories they tell and the history we learn. We had a fabulous time here exploring and finding caches.
Today I teamed up with Posums for a day of caching fun in Geelong. Lots of caches, laughs and fun. Thanks to all the cache owners who placed these fabulous containers for us to find.

Headed down to to Geelong for another day of laughs, fun and of course hopefully finding a few caches.
Geelong has put on another great day of weather for us to be out and about touring the town.
I was meeting up with GemmaSistema for the day and I was the designated driver and Gemma was the navigator and co pilot.
After finishing a section of the rail trail it was suggested by Gemma, let’s check out the Eastern Cemetery as there a few Mystery’s in there.
I do enjoy a walk around a cemetery.
Parked the Geowagon and I then opened up the cache pages for the Pathway series.
This is not going to be a leisurely stroll but a marathon around here to get what is required.
So after completing that series Gemma said there is a maccamob cache here as well.
Of course there is a maccamob cache here I said as it is a cemetery after all.
Opened that one up and saw 12 WP’s, I think Gemma is trying to break me.
So after more walking we eventually had the numbers, found some shade and did the maths.
Off we went and came to GZ hmm where could it be.
Soon potted the sneaky cache and added our names to the log.
A fav goes out to you for this great cache.
Definitely got our steps in today.
Thanks maccamob TFTC.

After a busy day stuck in front of the computer screen, a good old leg stretch and a geocache was in order. East Geelong Cemetery had a hand full of caches that were begging for me to sign, so off I went. I arrived at 7:10pm and had the whole place to myself..... well except for the thousands of people residing there.
I love coming to this cemetery. I have learnt plenty from all the caches/adlabs that are here.
I arrived at GZ and it didn't take me to long until I had the log in hand. Cache and log are in tip top shape and now waiting for it's next visitor.
Thank you

Did the walk & research around this interesting cemetery but final coordinates were 30 metres from cache. That may have been a mistake on my part though. Common sense kicked in & residents were found (or their grave at least) & after a bit of a challenge the prize was in hand. Thanks for the experience & cache
Today we have been able to turn our blue frown into a yellow smile thanks to the wonderful help of the CO. We really appreciate when the CO is approachable and friendly. The cache was in the place that it should have been we just did not look hard enough. This is our last day in Geelong for a little while so we could not leave town without giving it another try. favourite is coming your way to say thank you for all your help. SL TFTC
Checked out the final this afternoon after completing the Adventure nearby. Container still in place and in good condition, but hidden better these days by additional foliage. Expanded the hint.
We had a good look around for this one and could not find any item that was a cache container
Disabled for the duration of the renewed Covid-19 lockdown. We believe the responsible thing is to disable all our caches until this latest crisis passes.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Disabled for the duration of the Covid-19 crisis. Although exercise is ok, beaches, parks etc are gradually being closed, and we are being asked to stay home. The virus can be transmitted by surface contact, so please don't take the chances. Geocaching is a game, and we are dealing with a serious Public Health issue, so we need to get our priorities in order. Please stay at home!
We believe the responsible thing is to disable all our caches, until this crisis passes.
Thanks.

Day 3 of our epic trek to the St Arnaud Mega via Geelong. As you do.
The constant was my travel companion for the entire trip, - Anymules. but we were joined by almost local cacher Bushfire for a lot of the escapades
Today was to be our kayaking adventure along a stretch of the Barwon. [^] The weather didn't look good but the kayaks got wet but then so did I. The waterproof GPS decided it wasn't any longer waterproof and stopped working as did the phone we had. [:(!] Luckily the GPS was an old one used for kayaking but it was back to the digs for the new one, a change of clothes and back to visiting waypoints for the numerous multi caches and epic multi stage mysteries started on previous visits and the previous two days. This is how the day unfolded
Having gone for an impromptu swim we changed plans, changed clothes and started crisscrossing the cemetery trying to finish clues for 6 caches at the same time.! The 5 pathways and Grave situations. The thing I saw most is that a lot of people died in 1961. It intrigued me enough to stop and ask one of the gardeners about it. You know what he said - Hawthorn won the Premiership. Wow you take you footy seriously here. [:o)]
I think we just tired to do too much at the same time. Where we ended up seemed logical but couldn't find John or Eliza nearby. Still enjoyed the walk.
**Thanks maccamob for the search anyway. **

Came and looked. But we think we may have something wrong. We might have to start again on another visit.

I first looked at this puzzle a while ago and tried to cheekily reverse engineer the hint, without success. Fast forward many months and I found myself here visiting my Grandfather, who were he still with us would have been eligible to receive a telegram from the queen, as last week would’ve been his 100th birthday. It was a beautiful day so I decided to stroll around for a while and do some caching. So many intriguing gravesites, either due to design, the person who is interred there or both. While looking for my grandfathers grave I managed to get a little lost and ended up in the one section of the cemetery that I cannot cope with - the childrens lawn. Whilst I can happily visit the graves of relatives who lived long and fulfilling lives, I cannot make my way through that area intact, even though I know none of the children there. Yet, as a parent of young kids, one cannot help but stop and observe some of the stories here. Today’s undoing was a gravesite of a child whose date of death preceded their date of birth, by 3 whole days. Unimaginable to me, but sadly a very real scenario for others out there.
After meandering around and gathering what I needed I made my way to GZ where I eventually spotted a well concealed cache when looking from the right angle. Stamped and headed off for my next target. A beatifully designed cache well worthy of a FP.
Thanks maccamob for placing this Micro Mystery - this is find 1507 for BFMC

With completing this cache I have now been around this cemetery so many time I have lost count. Previously doing another CO's caches Pathway 1-5 nearly sent me insane trying to spot graves from pictures without coordinates was very challenging. This time have the coordinates was so much better with far less headaches. I think I know this place inside out now though.
The sneaky little hide at the end here had us going for quite awhile before Neville_devil was able to spot the little fella. A nice lot of unloved with this one as well which is all helping on another mission too.
Thank you maccamob for the mystery

An 80 year old bushfire[?][?]
Apparently the ageing Bushfire aka Red Ant was having an 80th birthday party and since I owed him a mug or two, I really wanted to attend.
So Rex and I headed off in the Corolla for what ended up being a 4 day road trip to Geelong, Warrnambool and back to Shepparton during which I finally finished the Victorian Premiers whereigo [^][|)]
Had some great company exploring around Geelong prior to the birthday event, we attended 2 flashmobs and yes... I even managed to get pulled over by the police in Geelong (apparently a case of mistaken identity ) on the way to the 3am flashmob and the other geocachers in the car in front of me didn't even realise and just left me! [:o)][:o)]
The next day Rex and I spent ages in the Botanic Park doing a Bushfire multi and sadly we had to bother to CO for a nudge (with a bloody hammer). Then to cap it off, a muggle found the cache for us
I finally got to drive on the GOR and I have to say that I was so glad that I wasn't on my motorbike as it was rainy and blowing a gale for almost the whole road
We saw glow worms [^] and thoroughly enjoyed clear skies and no rain as we did so [^] although bering in there on my own at 2.30am was a bit freaky , then the moment we got back in the car, the rain and wind started again
We spent the night on the way to Warrnambool on the side of the road only to find in the morning that we'd been sleeping right on the edge of a cemetery
All in all an amazing, scenic and fun trip [^] where there was 6 DNFs and 63 cache finds over the 4 days
As I am about 8 months behind in logging, I'm resorting to template logs to catch up.
My heartfelt thanks to the COs who have placed some tricky, funny, exercise required, scary, interesting and devious caches in some amazing spots! [^]
Rex and I have had some amazing adventures and enjoyed some incredible moments thanks to this fantastic hobby

Almost 4 years since I first attempted to complete some of the new series in the area I returned to the cemetery. Since imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, I was keen on walking through the original.
The instructions are quite clear and I ended up at the right GZ , but my searching skills let me down at a hugely overgrown GZ.
Thanks for the hunt, maccamob.
I won't rest in peace until I've found this one .

We were in the area for another task, and I found I had some numbers from a previous visit, so we decided to go over and have a look, but a search here revealed nothing, then Ozhockeychick checked a set of numbers from one of her previous visits, which took us to another nearby spot, which looked a little more likely, We hunted for a while in the dark, and it was eventually @paillon4506 who called out that he had it and the log was soon signed, and we were off again
In Geelong for the weekend to attend a couple of events and collect as many smileys as we can whilst here.
This happens to be the cemetery where my grandparents, parents and a sister are buried so I am quite familiar with the surrounds.
Never had I imagined that there was a cache to be found.
Thanks for the cache.

Out and about in the area tonight and was fortunate to be with others that needed to pick this up. Thanks for the stroll and the cache.

A weekend roadtrip to Geelong with Papillon4506 and Geoturtle37.
We were here this evening so they can add to a specific wherigo. I remembered I still needed to complete this multi that I had started months ago.
It wasn't long before we had the cache in hand and signed.
Thanks for the smiley, maccamob. A fav point for the most excellent multi.

We had looked at this multi during a previous visit to Geelong but as it appeared that it would take sometime to complete, we put it aside for another day, The "another day" came immediately after the Surf Coast Event and we set aside ample time to wander around the East Geelong Cemetery to match the images with what we saw. After an hour or so we had collected all the required information and calculated the final coordinates. Without a coordinate checker we were not overly confident of our accuracy but when we got there and found that it matched the hint, we were quietly confident that we had the correct coordinates for GZ. We searched for at least an hour but didn't have any success. We contacted the COs who confirmed that we were looking in the right area and they generously gave an additional hint. We returned the following day but after another 40 minutes, still no joy. We updated the situation with the COs. Yesterday we received an email to say that they had visited GZ, that the cache was missing and that it had been replaced. As today was our last day on the northern island for this trip, we returned to Geelong to make a third attempt. This time the cache was found quite quickly. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks maccamob for a great multi and for your support throughout our hunt for the cache. We really appreciate your prompt responses to our emails and your prompt action to replace the cache. We really enjoyed this caching experience and it earns a favourite from us.
Called in today after a reported DNF and the cache was missing. Replaced it in a similar spot. Coordinates remain the same.
MaggieDot and I chose this cache to be our joint 700th cache. We Dragged AutumnCS, a muggle husband and 4 geokids around with us with the theory that more eyes and brains the better. It was freezing cold but the rain stayed away so we managed to finish in about an hour and a half even with all the back tracking. Good thing MaggieDot brought a bag of lollies with her as she was able to silence the whining half way through from the geokids. Lovely place for a stroll with great views of the bay. Loved this cache!
Out with Autumntree and Maggiedot on their 700 find. Also with 4 Geokids and a Geodad.
A little glad we didn't need to walk the whole length of the cemetery as 2 of the geokids and myself had done a 5 km run/walk in the morning. With the 2 older Geokids whinging that they were hunger and the 2 younger Geokids feeding the broken graves with peppercorns so that if the zombies came up they would have something to eat and then die again, (I love the child logic).
All I can say is you need time and not children (since when with Geocaching are the kids happy, or is that just ours), to do this. We were here for a couple of hours.
I love the cemetery growing (I lived opposite one) the biggest open spaces (well without the grave stones) the biggest trees and hardly anyone around.

My caching buddy AutumnTree and I had both managed to get to 699 caches so that we could find our 700th together. We didn't want it to be easy, we didn't want it to be too far away, and we wanted it to take up a little bit of time and be memorable. And it was!
The first few locations we stopped at gave us NOTHING! We wondered if we were looking for the right things or whether we had looked carefully enough. But then things started to fall into place and we steadily progressed around the locations, finding the items to match the pictures, compiling the answers. We backtracked once when one of the GeoKids said "But that was next to where we were!" and then at the end when we had one picture left to match and fortunately wandered in the right direction. With some of the accompanying GeoKids complaining of being cold and hungry, and other GeoKids pretending to be zombies risen from the graves, we set to calculating our final coordinates.
We were not very thrilled on approaching the GZ - lots of hiding places! But then I spotted something out of place and investigated further and it was the cache. Hooray!
Thank you for our wander around the cemetery maccamob, with a nicely put together set of locations!
TFTC!
Note that the log book is sodden.

Finally found after a couple of visits trying to solve this series located where it had fallen to the ground so We logged and replaced where we thought it should be thanks.
Haven't found yet, but in the process we did find a sign saying "Your items have been removed and given to the Geelong Police". Hoping it wasn't the cache. Will go looking later on.
Some recalculations and another short walk this time had a slightly new GZ plotted. This time, the hint made a little more sense and upon finding the cache, there were smiles all round! A great cache that has taken a few visits but the best thing was we found it - a real team effort with cuz AstroDianne!! Clear skies and our thanks to the Maccas once again! [^]
You pwned us n00bs.
We will return.
However it was a great walk with Dianne and the West Highland White Terrier. We loved poking around and checking out the informative structures - Dianne, a long time friend of the West Terrace Grave Situations in Adelaide, could tell me the significance of some of the structures - I never knew....
At GZ (we thought) Westie was foraging around a/the tree and if the cache was there, he would have found it. Definitely a cache dog!!
Luckily I had the owners phone number (like for a 100 years) so a quick PAF confirmed that the cache has a chance of being 90% not there. I am not saying 100% but pretty sure with 2 people and a dog looking, cache blindness was not a factor! (thanks David).
Thanks to maccamob and clear skies from TeamAstro.

With the sun shining down, I enjoyed my walk around the cemetery today. There were quite a few muggles about, but they paid me no attention. The info gathering took longer than expected, but it was a very enjoyable task. Once I had gathered all my numbers, I set about working out the math. When I arrived at my projected GZ, I noticed a bit of recent "maintenance ". I hope the cache is still here. After a few minutes of searching it wasn't looking good. I stood back and gave the area the once over. What's that over there ?? Found it !! Thanks for an enlightening tour of this cemetery. A lot of names were very familiar. TFTC maccamob
Headed to Geelong and surrounds with Bogonghazy and Tess to clear up a few puzzles and challenges that we didn't get during our last visit.
BH had this one solved some time ago and only remembered that he hadn't found it on previous visits. Searched and searched, read the clue, yes we are in the right area. Eventually resorted to a PAF to the CO who put us in the right direction. Thanks David and Mary. Cheers Caz

Headed to Geelong for the second Friday in a row with Tess the geodog and Sorceysal to see if we could complete a couple of challenges, and grab a few more caches in this cache rich town.
This was a cache that I'd previously DNF'd, and after a call to the CO, found I had old coords for this one. My thanks to Mary and David for this cache and the work put into researching and setting it up. Also thanks for holding our hand and leading us to the correct GZ. Adding a fave, nice to chat again too.
Cheers Phil

We spent a very busy day with Wozzle68 attacking these Cemetery Mysteries that we had been putting off since first starting caching. The weather was brisk to say the least but at least it kept the muggles away letting us do our homework without prying eyes.
It was interesting locating all these notable Geelong people's memorials but sad also.
Armed with all the necessary info we did our maths quickly and headed to GZ.
We started looking in the wrong place for a minute or so until the male Triton stood back and spotted it straight away. Ok that was easier than we thought it was going to be.
Thanks maccamob for a great thought out puzzle and for the hunt. A favourite for all your effort.

I had started this series a while ago printing all the maps and getting myself ready. I had a little help along the way and took plenty of photos to make sure that all the information that was needed was obtained. A few mistakes here and there but with the checker grid on each page, mistakes were then turned into coordinates that were looking good. Some very interesting grave sites were seen. I usually am not much of a fan walking around these areas but these were too good of a challenge to go past. Today was the day to grab this series and hardly a muggle about. I found this cache while doing the Pathways series. This was a very interesting one, visiting many interesting persons. Container was spotted quickly once I was at the solved coordinates [^] Looks like this area was cleared recently but cache in good order, a little exposed. Stamped and returned as found.

After finishing some nearby caches early and knowing Geordiefamily was keen to do this one. we made our way around with a couple of silly mistakes. It was slow going as Geordiefamily like to read all the head stones as we walked around. With the information we found a quite spot to calculate GZ. Once at GZ Geordiefamily made a quick find.
Thanks for the cache maccamob

I have wanted to do this for a long time, as I love a good cemetery cache, and this was a good cache in all respects. Had recently completed the other group of caches in this area, so some of the head stones were familiar. I just love reading headstones, though some made me feel quite sad. anyway out with Alchey picking up a few caches and was very happy to have time to put in to this one. with printed out cache notes off we went after a couple of silly errors we sat on the grass under a lovely smelling peppercorn tree to do the maths, then off to GZ. such a wonderful and peaceful place. tftc and the opportunity to spend time here. quick find. fave point from me.
Had some spare hours this morning so figured I'd finally complete this one. Was a little confused at first for some silly reason and noted down the wrong headstone that look similar to another until I rechecked the cache notes and quickly found the correct one only to take note now of the wrong side of it.
Anyway long story short - found the area I needed to be in by the nearby cache guardians and now I can finally put this one to rest!
I knew about some of the people buried here and it was terrific to be able to actually see their final resting places. It is close as one can get these historical figures.
Thanks maccamob for the history and for the walk
Log signed & replaced. TFTC & smiley face

Rebel Acts and I had only a few hours tonight to grab as many caches as we could. Although we didn't have much time we decided to continue our run in Geelong and so we ended up here, A great short night, but a lot of fun. Thanks to all the CO's for their efforts. Nice little puzzle ...
# 7803 Found on the Vic leg of our S.K.I.D.R.O. adventure,
while staying at Geelong for a few days.
Another short drive around for a few more caches.
Not many muggles around and a reasonbly quick find at GZ on this one.
Thanks for the cache maccamob,

3 x PAF's and no joy here today for us Bogonghazy and I rang a previous finder as well as the CO for a few hints. After 30 - 40 mins we came away, empty handed. Too good for us. Thanks for the hunt though Maccamob, we will return on our next visit.
Sully1 and I had come to Geelong to pick up a new van and to attend the Puzzle Solving Event on the Friday night. We were sure we had the right coords at GZ as the names in the hint were very close by. Even after a call to the CO, AND a previous finder, we had no luck here.
Hope it was just us, and it's still there, thanks anyway Maccamob.
Always enjoy your tribute cemetary caches.

Was on my to collect 2 of my last remaining ballarine rail trail original caches when the phone rang and a detour was put in place to take on this cache. Visited all the WPs and found out we were missing a few numbers for our calculations. Back around we go to try and find what we were missing. Found what we were missing and corrected an error and soon had a rough idea where GZ was. Missing 'A' we just guessed a number which put us close to GZ. Resorted to the hint and found the resting place near by and the search was on. Not long after we found what we were looking for and signed the log. TFTC I attempted this one Friday 13th but we got lost around the way points and forgot which ones we had been to. enjoyed the walk here
Tried this fellow months ago and due to poor planning and not writing things properly we were going in circles so gave up. This was closest unfound cache to home for me so it was always on my radar! On a sunny arvo came out here with Dbelco. Took our time gathering digits, admiring the sculptures and how silent a place was that is chocked full of people. when calculating coords realised missed two so back we went around the cemetery. Got to GZ and sighed when saw this was a micro! A quick paf as was running behind time and a quick find was in hand, logic would have had us find this fellow in good time! Fantastic cache for taking me to such impress and solemn works of art. Tftc, fave point for all the energy and time this must have taken to put together!
Found with bkj97 after several visits. His log will tell the whole tale. Had to test our memory yesterday retracing steps taken in July. Bkj97 has a thing about cemetery caches but we both enjoy the history that the older cemeteries contain. The sculptural forms of yesteryear are much more interesting and varied than the majority of modern equivalents. T4TCSL
Greetings from NZ.
Started this back in July when we were here from nz for our sons birthday.
Ran out of time with three photos to identify so saved all our answers and put it on the back burner until now.
Visiting son in geelong at present so decided to let he and his wife have a sleep in and we set about completing the tasks.
Problem ... I had left my diary with original answers back in NZ!
So we started all over again. ( much to little blue hen's annoyance)
Had trouble with one of the photos I had copied onto the ipad but came up with the right solution which got us to the correct spot. We were delighted to meet the new guardians.
So the search began.....
Found a beer bottle, a crushed can, a bag of dog poo but no container.
Had to abandon our search....said hello to the previous guardians in passing and departed empty handed.
We had to be back with breakfast goodies before 10am and only just made it.
Doesn't time fly when you are caching. (we were staying only 7km away and had left there at 7:25am!) No other caches were harmed in this journey either!
A bit of a nudge from the CO was gratefully received and he confirmed we were close. Detoured today on the way back from the mussel festival at Portarlington and little blue hen soon had the container in hand. I had been within 30cm yesterday!
Have suggested to the CO that there is room for further head scratching in the Eastern Cemetery and there may be a further visit in April when we return to the area.
A favourite from me........and one for little blue hen for her patience and perseverence.

Day #152 as I continue my 'Cache a day' challenge...
Whist attending Christmas in Geelong with family, I decided to duck out & grab a cache with Happy Pants, Happy Feet & Moosetash... A pleasant evening last night, we grabbed all the required information but were unable to locate the cache... Today the find was made fairly easily... A whole new dimension was added when doing it by torchlight... Fantastic walking around this massive cemetery at night... Fave point added...
Made the find, signed log & returned...
Took: Nothing
Left: Nothing
Thanks for bringing me here & the history...

We decided to tackle this one after tea. As it got darker we were worried we had made a mistake doing it at this time of the day, but we managed to find all the way points. Doing the maths we headed off to GZ, however a hunt of the area turned up nothing. Not being able to find the names in the hint, we decided to call it a night and come back in daylight. So off we headed this morning to have another look. I found the old hint, which our coords had led us to. We found the new hint after a short search around the area and then came up with the cache. Thanks for a great cemetery cache, however with hindsight we should have done it during the day so we could have a better look around. Giving it a fave for all the history we learned.
After grabbing a couple of caches yesterday afternoon we decided to tackle this one after a bite to eat and after finding a few of the wp's in the fast fading light we ended up seeking out all the required others with the assistance of numerous torch lights. Ahh there is something strangely appealing caching around a cemetery in the dark of night, adds to the atmosphere. After working out the numbers and descending on the gz we came up empty handed and we decided to come back and try it in the morning. After broadening our search a little and with the help of day light we soon had this one in hand, enjoyed the walk and visit even the second time around, thanks maccamob for the cache and the interesting walk around this historic area. A favourite added for sure.
In the area for Christmas with other geo family. Out the do this cache after tea but the dark seemed to work against us. We were able to come up with all the required locations & clues under torch light but once we got to GZ, we were unable to find the cache. After an extensive search, we decided to call it a night & return in day light. It didn't take long for Mrs Moosetash to come up with the goods, once we all returned when we could see. We enjoyed the walked around the cemetery on both occasions & we have given it a fav. TFTC maccamob.
Krazy K came over for the puzzle solving event
I was lucky enough to accompany my west side buddies Ogrebeast & Teamranger! to collect this cache.
They had put in the hard yards on this working on it hard spending countless amounts of time walking around here and completing the puzzle, then cheeky Krazy K comes along and steals the prize
Thank you Ogrebeast & Teamranger! For allowing me to ride along with you to collect this cache and hard work put in to solve it (to be quite honest it's the only I can clam most of these puzzle caches, my brain does not like them)
Thank you Maccamob for the hide from what i can tell its a great puzzle with great history

After being out at the event tonight decided to head back to this one. Thanks to the Co'S for doing the maintenance on it so we could finally log a find. whilst we were there signing the log Teamranger received an email from the co to say that it was up and going a again it was quite funny as we were standing right at GZ TFTC
After a dnf on this one earlier in the year we decided to email the CO for a welfare check and turns out this one had gone walkabout. Thanks to a quick response from mccamob this one was soon up and running again. After an evening with fellow cachers at the puzzle event at Fyansford we set of to locate and sign the log. After a quick find the deed was done thanks Maccamob for the hunt a favourite point from us.
Went out tonight with Ogrebeast, Teamranger and Krazy K Krew. Unfortunately I never did any of the hard work working out this cache but was happy to sign the log. After reading you can see a lot of hard work has going into creating this cache. Well done! I must say it is a little spooky coming g here at night time in such a large cemetery especially when Krazy K says there's zombies :/
Sadly, the cache had gone missing, so Thomas and Isabella resigned their guardian roles. A new container is now in place not too far away, and the calculations have been revised accordingly. New guardians have been appointed.
we came back for a second time we found Isabella and Thomas but were still unable find cache this time around might need a welfare check
Second time here but still no find a total of 4 hours put into the hunt but no luck might need a welfare check
This has been a marathon effort. I have lost track of the times I have visited both in the cold and the heat.
Finally with the help of a friend I had the calculations worked out and the little devil found.
This is a very interesting place and I will never pass now without thinking of 'the chase'.

We had been told that this was a terrific cache and thought we would make it the last hurrah if our Pt Lonsdale holiday. We took care not to let the kids know how many waypoints there were. We mucked around a bit not really reading the cache notes but eventually hit our straps, especially miloguy. He also found the cache. On our way back essieg, raff and I felt sad looking at the babies cemetery. TFTC.
What a jolly way to end a holiday! Geelong Cemetery has many ornate graves. We couldn't find one piece of information but we had enough to get the cache, and the bonus after a wander.
Out with LouiseAnn and Team TOSH.net fidning some caches after completing the amazing "The Mystery of the Fyansford Treasure Horde". We'd had a brilliant day finding caches, a great lunch and LouiseAnn had got her favourite cider. Finally, we came here to grab a cache that LouiseAnn had been working on for a while, and Team TOSH.net had found before. We wondered the cemetary for a while collecting more clues, Team TOSH.net reusing to give us any hints. Eventually we had the cache in hand. Thanks for the cache, maccamob.
After a fantastic couple of hours chasing "The Mystery of the Fyansford Treasure Horde" and a great lunch, Pathfinder24, half of Team TOSH.net and I headed off to find some other caches. This cache was found at 5:39pm
I had been around most of these points over a year ago, but I had run out of time to be able to complete the cache. Today the three of us were able to pick up the last few bits of information I required. Team TOSH.net had completed this cache before, but were very good and only giving hints and didn't give us the answer. When we calculated GZ and arrived at the location we still had a bit of a hunt, as the hide was a very tricky one. Got there in the end though.
Thanks for the cache maccamob and for the walk around the cemetery.

This cache was a real challenge. Did the locations in order but on reflection, probably had a little more walking than required. Got to the end with answers for all but one of the photos - must have missed it along the way. Could crunch out some good co-ordinates and the hint confirmed the place was correct. The micro was being elusive though and when it got past 30 minutes of searching it was time to PAF. Even with a hint it took a while to get - Princess Diala can be proud of her replacement techniques. Glad to finish this afternoon with a smiley. TFTC
Found in the company of coley_babee and lochb.
Down to G-town for a few caches. Mainly any multi's and the wherigo.
Lochb and I have now completed a few of these finding picture caches in the past few weeks. We were excited to be able to attempt this one!
We should of however read the description a little more carefully as we were a bit confused about what it actually entailed.
We split up, to make the finding easier. In the end, we checked all the answers again just to be 100% certain.
Thanks maccamob for this cache.
(Sorry its taken me some time to log, "life" got in the way.)

Now my dear dear maccamob, it is a good thing that I love you guys, as this cache was evil.... very very evil.... yes interesting, but evil.............................
I had printed off the pictures, and the locations just in case, but didn't read the description very very carefully, so off we went looking for the pictures, thinking why can't I find anything here?????
Thankfully after finding most of the sites, lochb looked at the description... doh!!
so back we went to find the final information.
After a quick calculation we were apparently 2km away from GZ... that can't be right, thankfully we didn't just head off, and went to double check some information, as naughty coley had read the wrong thing, in the end we were only 100 odd meters away and off we went!!
after a long wander around this surprisingly large (when looking for specific sites) cemetary and then a rather short search at GZ, we had our smiley!! and were glad to be able to tick this one off our list!!

PrincessDiala, Coley_babee and I arrived at this cache, thinking this would be easy since PD and I had had some practice walking along avenues and chasing steeples in Melbourne. How wrong we were!!! First of all, it helps to read the information on the cache page before heading out and searching desperately at each location for exactly one structure that matches the photos! We ended up going past some of the waypoints twice. Then, a minor mistake in reading the information on a monument meant we had one digit too many. Back we went to check that monument to fix this. At another plaque, we weren't sure how the words were meant to be counted so ended up with two options. This was clarified when we did the calculations, and in the end we had a set of coordinates. Coley_babee found the cache. TFTC, maccamob, and for the effort that has gone into preparing it!
@12:25 What a wonderful way to have a history lesson of the Geelong area. This cache has been very well thought out. While looking for answers to the clues, it gives a guided tour of some of the people who helped to shape Geelong.
Really enjoyed this multi. SL TFTC

A big day out caching in Geelong with Liz and Bruce. We split the locations between us and after coming up with the required information made a quick find. We always enjoy cemetery themed listings and have a number of them ourselves in WA.
After 4 successive days of caching with visiting WA friends richlink it was beginning to be a test of endurance especially given the early starts and late finishes. Each day we would report to each other on aches and pains and blisters. Today we were heading from Werribee towards Geelong. Thanks maccamob - it was one in line with your speciality and we were pleased to be able to do it.
Have done collected half of answered the questions last week.
Came back to Geelong for Australian Deaf Games doing volunteer as a driver.
Found it after my volunteer job finished.
Thanks maccamob for bring me here and interesting grave situation and cache

Spladem and I wanted to do a cache or two on the way home. Over dinner this cache was brought up as a recommend cache. We arrived at the start coords and soon worked out we had some walking to do. We discussed the best way to approach the situation and we first tried splitting up but that did not work so well. Once we joined up we soon started to knock the clues over (not literally). It took a fair amount of time at night but we both have flashlights that turn night into day. Once we got to our last waypoint we found out we where stilling missing some info. We worked out the sums and it turns out the info was not needed with only a few possible GZ's and one looking like it was in a good spot. When we arrived we could tell it was the right spot and soon the cache was found.
I love these cemetery multi's and this one is the best one I have done. Made even more fun at night. TFTC

Well now what an interesting afternoon this turned out to be. Enjoyed the nice bit of exercise looking at some truly unique tombstones. It was all going reasonably well until we got to J and somehow kept overlooking the required information. No Idea how it happened but we got there in the end. Breathed a huge sigh of relief when we finally made it to GZ and spotted the cache. All the hard work and persistence paid off, after having almost given up a number of times. Nicely constructed cache hands down the #1 cache of the weekend. Took longer than intended but was worth it.
Cheers and Thanks for the cache

As soon as a fellow cacher mentioned this Grave situation I was immediately determined to find this cache. With GPS in hand I anticipated that this cache would be relatively straight forward, however did not anticipate spending 20 minutes blindlessly looking with the clue right in front of my eyes!
I really enjoyed this cache. Thank you maccamob for the cache.
