This afternoon, the rain was finally starting to slow to a drizzle, and so I decided to head out for a fitness session during Brisbane's additional COVID-19 lockdown day. My initial plan was Keperra Bushland which was reasonably close to home, and then I continued on to Samford Conservation Park, taking a loop around that hillside.
I parked in the nearby dead end street, and proceeded taking the shortest path to GZ. I passed the neighbour's kids who said hello to me over the fence, much to the surprise of the parents who was surprised to find a random person walking on this hill, haha. The ascent wasn't too bad, with some steep terrain in some areas, but otherwise not too bad. I found the toughest part was a very prickly ivy horizontal section that I didn't see, of which it managed to scrape my leg and continue to cut my skin as my momentum was taking me forward. A real nasty think plant too. Eventually making it to GZ, I was aware of others who had trouble here, but after looking around seeing that this was a decent sized cache, I managed to find within five minutes in a logical hiding place. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Mloe for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. It was also nice to have found this cache with 391 days [12.8 months / 1.07 years] of unfound love since its last find on 7/06/2020.

Off this avo for a bit of exercise and a cache.
Been meaning to got this one for a while but there was this scary title that made it seem like I would need to dedicate a lot of time to getting it
Well all things lined up today. A long dry spell mean no wet spot at the bottom of the hill. A hazard reduction burn mean, no lantana and very little under growth.
Nice easy find, cache is dry and in good condition [^]
Exercise done 1 hour door to back to door [^]

Awesome little walk this morning yes I was crazy. The best way to get to a point is a straight line. Hmmm from where I was parked it was straight up. While there are tracks along the way the leaf litter did make it hard to keep a good footing
Thanks for this one a target cache for me today. Log signed and made my way down with a few spiders finding a new home

Staying nearby, I thought this might be a night early morning walk. Nice and quiet - just me an a whopping big caterpillar here today. I don't know how much the tracks get used by bikes... but they won't be by me! Thanks for the adventure.
I think both - brave and crazy. Taking 2 dogs - one who I have never walked with before, and my geodog who is new to geocaching and hasn't experienced an uphill bush bash … until now. We had an amusing journey both up and down. Was glad to make this find today.
Thanks Mloe for placing the cache up here.
Thanks Mloe for placing the cache up here.
I wasn’t Brave or Crazy riding my mountain bike down the hill. But I was crazy walking straight up and down.
It was very hard to keep on my two feet.
All good with the cache.
Cache a day to keep the doctor away, or is it to keep me sane. No it’s to keep my streak alive. TFTC Mloe *307* streak. *1942* Find

I’m neither brave nor crazy so there’s no way I’d ride down this on a bike. But apparently I’m stupid because I walked up in a straight line from the nearest road. Can’t believe this hasn’t been found in almost two years. Thanks for the cache
More crazy than brave today, it was a hot hot day and I was dripping with sweat. It's been a while since this one had a visit, pleased to report all good here.
Thanks for the hunt **Mloe**, this find makes #4133. Discover our TB

Arriving at the bottom of the hill, it didn't look so bad. 10 mins later aligned myself with the crazy not the brave tag. Not what you want to do on a warm morning. TFTC Mloe
In the area today grabbing a few caches and decided I had to try this one out and use my brand new Christmas hiking poles. Parked car and headed up through the bracken receiving a number of scratches on the way in. Once we neared GZ the gps started bouncing in a major way, partly due to area and parlay due to cloud cover. Decided we were going to have to use more cacher's nous than gps so put our 3 sets of eyes to work. Had a few ideas so decided to start heading towards one and see if gps corrected itself. It did, then told us we had to go back a good 10 metres or so, however decided to ignore that and continue blind. It worked, 1MinnieMooJnr stumbled on it almost immediately. Log signed swaps made and a quick reminder to 1GiantPanda to not forget his drink bottle that he'd put down, and 1MinnieMooJnr dropped trackable Ruvi in, then it was up to me to replace cache as 1MinnieMooJnr had seen the spiders and didn't want to put hand near, and 1GiantPanda didn't seem to have it in him to rehide cache properly. Then, it was all downhill after that! And yep it really was in both senses of the word! Got to the bottom of hill, grabbed a swig of water from my drink bottle, then the cry "oh no! I left my drink bottle up there"! I think MURDER may have been visible in my eyes! 1MinnieMooJnr opted to stay below while I trudged all the way back up to GZ with 1GiantPanda to retrieve water bottle. To the following finder: I may have left 1GiantPanda at the cache as a brand new trackable, and yes, feel free to add him to your own personal collection! Brave or Crazy? Definitely Crazy...(tho you're in good company it seems)! Tftc Mloe

Looking to fill in a few spare hours so we thought a Northside invasion would be the go! LOL ...
13 of 15 caches found this afternoon.
Brave or Crazy?
That's NOT a cache name!
It's a taunt, a dare, a challenge! LOL ...
I attacked this one on foot, in thongs, from 140 metres downhill, as a massive storm was approaching!
Brave or Crazy?
You be the judge.
At the end of the day 'We got it!" LOL ...
Signed & replaced as found.

Find #1734 at 10:51. I vote "crazy".
Well, they'd have to be crazy to attempt this one at the moment, with all the fallen trees across the trail and only a dropoff to the side. But I won't say it can't be done, I've seen some pretty crazy mountain biking before.
That was definitely a climb, I feel I've done my exercise for the day now.
Thanks for the cache, Mloe.

It certainly wasn't brave it was crazy I think I went the hard way found a fire trail just above the cache think I will take it down TFTC good exercise!
Found it yesterday but for some reason the log entry didn't take. Bush bashed our way up the hill but found the easy track back down. TFTC
Im not sure which I was with this Brave or Crazy? I will say I was both: a good climb and game for collecting another smiley. I took my time going up and found the cache in a nice dry safe position. I used a stick to aid my way down and was happy to complete this find. TFTC Mloe
we tried this previously but darkness got the better of us but walked up that huge trackless hill to find a old track. took us a while but we went up hill a bit more and saw an obvious spot:D#comesofarbutstartedanewjourneytoday
Probably both or so I'm told at times.
A nice long walk up to GZ and the cache was in the first place I directed geopartner to look.
View was nice over the houses.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks Mloe All good with this cache

The last cache of the morning and the legs certainly felt it on the way up. Eventually made it up to GZ and quickly spotted the hide. Tftc
Both!
While failing to find something else, I had a big dopey dog yapping at me from the house on the end. He kept yapping even when I was out of sight and he could hear me crunching my way up. I moved pretty fast (I was only given a 1 hour leave pass) and stayed out of danger except for when I stepped on a little branch which flipped up and gave me good scratches on the calves. I should just stop wearing shorts: it would save a lot of problems.
Cache is super-dry and I was happy to leave a geocoin TB here as it seems secure.
TFTC and associated craziness, mloe!

Found [Time to Find: 20 min] brave or crazy well that is an understatement. I should be called an uphill battle. Found some wait-a-while vine the stars do not do it justice. One of the hardest caches I have done in a while. Nice hid all the same.
Got out of the car and walked down the grass hill, then squish - right into the muddy water. Not a good start. Jumped the water then made a slow and steady trek up the hill. I never did find an actual path here until I got right up to where the cache was. Then there was a bit of a fireroad with lots of trees fallen down over it.
Found the cache quickly once I got to the coords - good to see a nice big container Signed log, then made my way back down the hill - again no path to speak of, but it was definitely easier going down than it was going up!
Being a mountain biker, I'm not sure where you would actually ride it around here. Nothing worth riding in my opinion. So I would say "crazy" to ride here!

Brave or crazy - both. Got to the bottom of the hill and looked up and just looked at each other and said do we really want to do this
Brave got the better of us so up we went - very slowly. Bushland was beautiful but very dry today. We made it mostly uninjured to the cache which we located quite quickly. Signed and left some swaps and looked down and decided that that getting down was perhaps the crazy part.
Again slowly but surely we made our way back to the car - elated that we did it but very glad we were on near level ground. TFTC and the workout today. We really enjoyed it.

Fantastic Cache! Had a great time stumbling up the hill with my intrepid 5 and 7 year old adventurers... The gps played up a little at the location, yet we soon found our prize and made the steep decent. Great fun
Goldielover and I parked nearby and found a reasonable path to the cache. A little bit of huffing and puffing before we finally reached a great spot for the cache. The cache is in great condition. There were heaps of goodies inside. After catching our breath we made our descent back to the car. Thanks Mloe.
Found with Stairman1 and geodog. We parked up the road and passed some muggles lazing in the sun in their backyard. Off we headed and followed the path right to the cache. The path was a little overgrown but nothing too bad. We spotted the cache and placed our names in the log. After hiding the container, we headed down the path and back to the car, past the muggles who hadn't moved. . Thanks Mloe always great finding your caches.
Well that was hard work. Made our way to GZ and found cache. Log signed. All safe with cache and log. Glad that one is finally off the map.

As a first timer on geocaching I found it quite hard, I did enjoy the hike and where it was hidden. If you are trying to find it make sure you go down a hill. Was very fun as i did with my mates jakaluma who told me about this fun game. I did leave some more treasure there and didn't take anything. Have fun finding it my fellow caches.
Have fun looking

This was a great adventure to find. First Geocache for our friend Katez9. Surprised the trees didn't throw our phone's co-ords off - and our Geodog Jess found the hiding spot first. TFTC. Picked up a trackable here too - a Geocoin. Will send it off on its mission soon.
Find #1091, being the 2nd of 10 today.
Well, probably a little of both. Perhaps a bit more of the latter. With Iolanthek and net88 in tow we ventured the 100m or so to this cache. How easy was that? not. But easy enough to find in the end.
Thanks, Mloe for the cache

I think we were all a little Brave AND Crazy to attempt this one . We were partway through Brother Colins Hooked on Geocaching when IolantheK let us know this one was here as well. Oh well we better get it since we are practically at the start of the hill.
Up we went, P` in the lead being Stickman. Waving his stick around removing nasty cobwebs from our path. Unfortunately with my injuries we had to stop periodically which i didn't hear anyone complain about... it was certainly getting steeper very quickly.
I almost gave up in one place when my injury nearly got the better of me, i let P` and IolantheK go up ahead and i slowly made my way half crawling half walking towards the GZ. I made it just as the were signing the log and i let IolantheK sign for me as i was just not going to make the last couple of metres.
We all stopped and admired our surrounds as i did a little physio on myself. We found a nice track back down to the bottom and we let gravity do its work as we bounded down the hill using trees and logs to slow our descent.
Thanks for the cache Mloe but next time you can keep your hills to yourself

Out and about today with Net88 and P`.
I have long wanted to get this one as it's one of the few non-smileys around my place, but I wanted a buddy to join me before I would tackle that hill. Today was the day We were one-third of the way through a nearby multi and decided to make the detour and pick up this one as well.
We decided to tackle this one by going straight up the hill and the climb was horrendous!! To ride a bike on these "tracks " would be suicide, at least for me I certainly would not be brave or crazy enough to do it! However, we did eventually find us a cache And suddenly the long slog was worth it after all Container in excellent condition and contents dry. TFTC, Mloe, and nice to catch up with you again last night

We were a bit of both. Fortunately better half used her orienteering skills to find a vague track directly up the hill to GZ. Very thankful that after the serious climb we found the cache and then slithered and slid back to the car.
TFTC. We believe that is both brave and crazy. Took awhile to get up but only 15 mins back.
Riding the MTB and thought I would try for this one today. These bike trails are no longer rideable, (my nephew used to though when he was younger, he's very brave). Thanks Brother Colin for clearing a lot of the undergrowth. [^] I was able to push my bike up the hill to locate the cache. Went a bit further up the hill to explore (didn't find the see saw) and it soon became impassable, although I may have lost the path. TFTC.

Seeing as Mloe is 'brave enough or crazy enough' to take on 'A Cursed Pistol' ay Midnight I thought I would return a crazy favour.
From the parking spot, follow the GPSr straight up the hill, there is a track, till you reach the old MTB track. Turn left and follow it, it will eventually turn right, leading you straight to GZ.
I have spent 2 hours clearing away the lantana, wait-a-while vines and other stuff. It is now a reasonably clear run all the way up.

I'm leaning toward crazy rather than brave. Wouldn't ride my MTB down anywhere here. TNLNSL. TFTC
Yes I was both brave and crazy what a hill and the path was covered in undergrowth after a bit of a search soon had it in the bag.

This has turned into a 150m bush bash. It certainly got my heart racing. A couple of slips on the way but I got to the cache eventually.
Thanks for the exercise Mloe
Thanks for the exercise Mloe
This was a hard slog. The MTB trails are overgrown. Trees have fallen across the track, lantana has overtaken in places BUT IT IS STILL THERE!. )
This makes 4 from 5 on my 1st day out.

This was cache # 10 of 23 for the day, on a great day out caching around the hills. Well I think I must be crazy for doing this one, was not sure the best place to enter from, so did a bit of bush bbashing to GZ, I still can not believe anyone would try and ride a bike along there. My thanks to Mloe for the cache.
The shortest route must be the quickest right?? After a few mishaps along the way for Loki, the cache was found. Dropped in a geocoin. On the way out, we heard voices belong to... geocachers?? perhaps. Maybe just bushwalkers?? Interesting spot. TFTC Mloe
My main problem with this one was finding where to park. There is a special place in hell for Google Maps for indicating roads that do not exist. I ended up just using the TomTom and came up with the goods. Today I was well prepared for a climb. I had recently done a substantial trek up a mountain with Radnoski.. in my sneakers.. in my shorts.. without my walking pole.. and at dusk (did have a torch at least!). Today I was all kitted up. Not being the fittest fiddle, it took me a little bit of extra time - but not too bad. Found the cache with no problem at all. The trek back down was okay due to my hiking boots and walking pole. I did take a slight detour and had to go bush a tad - but I came down quite quickly. TFTC Mloe - an enjoyable challenge
Well, this one was a work out and in the rain, was a test of persistance rather than a question of craziness...
I worked my way up from the bottom, slipping and sliding all the way on the slippery ground cover... Found the cache quickly when I arrived and wrapped business up. The way down was significantly more interesting that the trek up and I struggled to keep my footing. I landed on a couple of logs in a position I would rather not explain, suffice to say, the back of my jeans is not as clean as when I left home this morning...
Thanls for the workout Mloe.

Oh my god walk to bush up the hill... Yeah im crazy but Now im brave to found cache and take TB.............
This was certainly a challenge, yes I consider myself brave to have kept going. TFTC
Man what a hill and with light dwindling I made sure I hurried up and down what a work out! Left Hippy the TB TN SL TFTC and the leg pump!
Talk about being brave or crazy, I needed to be one to tackle this. It was almost dark so I thought 'well I'm here I better do it and do it before the sun sets'. As like a few others before me I took the straight up the hill route to get there as fast as possible. All the fallen trees are an obstacle but you can still get there. Found the cache ok and made it back down just before the daylight ran out. TFTC.
Read a log recently that mentioned, "BYO track". That sort of suits this cache. I too, followed the arrow and walked up the hill. Using my tracking skills (learned in Wilbur Smith novels ) I thought I could see where someone else (Ozibags[?]) had been. I'd suggest it will be a while before anyone cycles this track again. The cache was an easy find after all my effort. TN/LN/SL.
I took this on to see if it was able to be reached now that 5 months have passed since last November's storm damage. I walked straight up the hill (following the GPS arrow). Quite steep but not too bad. Found the cache then followed the track back down. Since the storm all the foliage has fallen from the downed trees so navigating the track was quite OK - just have to side-step or step under or over the bare trunks and limbs across the track. A short stretch of the track near the bottom is a bit overgrown with grass but it is navigable. Took Unite for Diabetes TB to get it circulating again. TFTC Mloe
Hi Mloe. We had planned our expedition and printed out the coords before you posted your note. You may well think we were Crazy rather than Brave but we got there at 15:40. The cache itself is fine but as you say the surrounding area is devastated. The track others have mentioned is no longer navigable as there are so many downed trees across it. What I think must have been the cycle track has been scoured out. Your advice that the cache should not be visited because the area is dangerous is wise. Took pkt of beads. Left bubble pen, crocheted hair pin and Unite for Diabetes TB. TFTC.
Recent severe storms may have caused damage to this cache. Even if the cache is safe, the area may be a danger as it is strewn with fallen trees and debris and should be avoided. The cache will be inspected as soon as it is possible to do so.
Found at 0820 with Lincon. A bit of a hike up to it but when we got to the GZ it was found quickly. Cache good.
We were brave going up the path and crazy coming straight back down. A mountain bike? - that's crazy.
Found it with Steman on a day of caching. As was the case with others, we just bashed out way up to it, but then followed the track back down.
found it with sunshine today. what a treck. next time the path might be a better idea. was a much easier walk down
Went looking for a non-existent road in 1970's Mapland this afternoon. A bit of retracing my route in the real world got a park close to the cache. Bush bashed up the hill and found the cache and contents in good condition. IN: Golf ball and two 'wash out-able' marking pens. OUT: Packet of chalk. Walked further up the Moutain Bike track a ways and came to the conclusion that the guys and gals who barrel down it at full tilt are 100% crazy!! Thanks Mloe.
14:36 attacked it the hard way with Bruce. Thanks for the exercise. Whilst we where at the cache it decided to start raining again. TFTC
Having met PowellBruce at another nearby cache we travelled to this one together. Our approach was up a steep hill and with the rain falling with increasing vigour I decided to stay in the comfort of the car and let the two Brucies tackle this one. They arrived back a short while later elated with their find and a bit on the wet side. TNLN. Thanks Mloe

I've meaning to come up here for a few weekends now to take pictures so a few DNF's provided some impetus to make today the day. The cache is safe and sound right where I left it so that's good. Sadly, it seems the more spectacular ramps and jumps, including the see-saw, have been removed from the trail. There are still some dirt and log constructions but the ludicrous factor isn't quite there an more. Bummer.

Find #4 of 4 for today with geodad. In answering the original question, i'd say crazy, that jump over the log especially. TFTC.
Brave or Crazy? I will let you decide:
I decided I should ride my bike more often so I justified this would be a perfect time to start again and figured I could alway push the bike up then ride down (little did I know). I dusted off my bike, pumped up the tyres.
The ride from home up along McGinn Rd was fine, but there was no chance I could ride up to the cache. At GZ the cache was soon at hand, TNLNSL. The ride back down, well mostly walk back down, it was too crazy for me.
But a great cache and a nice view from the top. It also got me back on my bike.
TFTC My 90th find
P.S thanks to Mloe for the hint on how to get to the cache

Well I managed to push and ride the bike to this cache
Some of those jumps looked a bit suicidal to take at speed on the way back down [:o]
So definitely Crazy [:o)]
This is a lovely bit of bushland to stroll through with all your bones in tact. I actually saw an Eastern Whipbird near the bottom of the hill
TFTC.

I think its brazy when you find this cache or maybe its the state of mind when you find it, nice spot though thanx picked up the travel bug 510911 will pass it on to somewhere..
Found 9.40am They must have "rocks in their heads" to ride down here!!!! A nice walk on a lovely sunny winters morning. Cache is dry and nice and cosy. In Care Bear Out Glow Stick TFTC
Found by Sunshine Toledo at 9:52am. Rode by bike to the cache and back. AHHHHH!! No, I didn't. Not that crazy but it seems like some local kids might be. Cache is safe and well. In: TB Raffibug Out: jingle bell TFTC
some spots are hard enough to walk down let alone doing it on a bike.
Cheers from the Posspet Boys

Feeling both a little brave and crazy I made a cross country route to the cache only to find a well worn trail to return on. I took the camera hoping to catch some action shots but it seems the track was not in use today. TFTC
#18 of 21 finds on my second-last day in Brisbane in company with HawMorFords. We found this one at 1310. As to whether the mountain bikers are brave or crazy, I couldn't say, because we didn't take the track to the cache. However, I suspect you would have to have a good helping of both attributes, if the cache description is accurate. As to HMF and I? I think 'crazy' would be the operative word. We decided to take the direct route to the cache: straight up the sometimes slippery slope. As usual, it was the shortest, but not necessarily the easiest way to the cache. We managed it though, and the decent wasn't as bad as I had anticipated. I made no exchange. Thanks to Mloe for the cache. Cheers, dak.
HMF's sixth and last of six finds for the day in the company of dak's Emu Mob. Brave or Crazy... perhaps two bob each way. Thanks to Mloe for the cache.
No fear, I fear is the answer! I think I would opt for under rather than over. Tree cover gave the GPS the usual agro (must update to one of those SiRF III units some day), but a seach for likely sites prove fruitful. Thanks TNLN
I decided to stay on the path for this one, as I wanted to see the jumps. You'd have to be crazy, I'd say.
The GPS pointed me all over the place at GZ, but it finally settled and led me straight to the cache. TNLN SL
This was my 5th Mloe find today and a very pleasant couple of hours was had by me and my geohound.
Thanks for the walks.

We should have known we wouldn't be early enough...after a mad dash up the hill we were second to find. Thanks for the Saturday morning heart starter, Mloe.
PS - we reckon they're CRAZY!!

Want to know what else is crazy? Deciding to take a 9 month old to find this cache! We ditched the pram pretty quickly and I carried Henry the rest of the way. I did get to teach him rule 7 of Geocacher U though: If the path deviates ever so slightly away from where the geocache is you must decide to bush-bash your way there . Carry a baby at the same time just makes it more fun!
Oh, *FTF* too! Are people actually jumping off those wood ramps? That's only slightly less crazy than me. TFTC. *Overall Experience: 4*
