Spring Victorian IncursionDay One: Gumeracha to KanivaWeather: showers, rainbows and gales force winds. I did not expect to be making a find in Kingston LGA today, but here we are. A shower had just gone through, but due to the distinct lack of mud in this part of the world, I thought Id try much luck on the quarry access road. I got as far as the sign shown in the photo (400m from the cache), but my car would have made it to within 50m if Id pressed on. It was a nice walk and great views. A quick find at GZ, and everybodys favourite container, but its getting a bit old and rusty and I struggled to get it open. Nice to find a very old log book inside. Cache of the day I reckon, thanks for bringing me here Beakers Bunch, a favourite point for you.

Find # 15878Been a while since I've been out solo for a long trip. But things change over time. And I'm living the past.So with some time off work, I've jumped the border wall to chase down some long trails in South Aussie... don't know how many I'll get. But I've got quite a few downloaded. I do have a short hit list ( of 2) caches to help with a challenge. All others are just for the Adventure and countryside views. Armed with all the necessary TOTT from tweezers and magnet grab to 6m ladder and 8m fishing pole. I believe I'm prepared for all that I'll come across. (Just had to leave the Kayak at home )Day 6. Lameroo to ?, well aiming for Naracoorte. With the big days n trails n short distances behind me. Today's plan is to just follow the icons. Make a few grabs around the Lameroo and Pinnaroo area before making my way down south. TFTC Beaker's Bunch

Greetings from Seattle! I'm down under for the first time with jtcoffee to attend the Great Leap Forward in Adelaide. While here, we're naturally trying to pack in as many "bonus" activities as possible, including (but not limited to) the following: Log our find finds in the southern hemisphere Find Australia's oldest, [GC3E](https://coord.info/GC3E) Lane Cove & the world's **First** Earthcache, [GCHFT2](https://coord.info/GCHFT2) Experience Taylor Swift's Eras Tour in Sydney Drive the Great Ocean Road Tackle a challenge cache requiring 31 Earthcaches, and 31 Virtuals in 31 days ([GC32TBZ](https://coord.info/GC32TBZ) and [GC32TC2](https://coord.info/GC32TC2)) Visit the Lord of the Rings filming locations in New Zealand Today, we are caching our way from Warrnambool to Adelaide. We weren't planning on going after LGAs but after arriving and seeing map lines - of course, we started to pay attention - classic us Yikes! Going after this one was certainly a bit aggressive in our rental car (a subie!), but inspired by the previous log (Thanks, GLISS!), we made it "there and back again" with all four tires in-tact. Thanks for keeping this one in play and thus contributing to our amazing adventure in Oz!

Greetings from Seattle! I am lucky enough to attend the Great Leap Forward Mega-Event in Adelaide with my fellow Lackey and best geo-buddy giacaches, and we hit the road to take the scenic route to get there. Today we'll finally be arriving in Adelaide, heading north from Warrnambool. The goals were to get as many LGAs as we could and see how many fun spots we could find along the way.It was a bit of an adventure to get here, but our rented Subaru was just right for the job. After a bit of poking around we had the cache in hand, and another LGA checked off. We signed in with our sticker (discover it if you see it! )Thanks for adding to this great adventure down under!

Got to 250 meters with mogni's car and walked in the rest of the way. The track in is overgrown and could do with a trim and some branches, so i broke nearly 2 dozen on the way in. it should be alot easier for the next person to drive in. This is a nice location for a cache and good views from here too. Good container and a quick find. I saw a huge ant eater about 1 meter from the cache. fav point for the location.
Out with Mogni for a extended weekend. We came down to Mount Gambier for Friday night and then Beachport for the second night. We came down for hevwalker's 60 th birthday. We cached our way down on the Friday and placed a few as well. We made it to Penola before the rain started non stop, up until then it was on and off. Saturday was worse in the day but the weather improved by night time. Sunday was easily the best day of the 3 days.

I somehow managed to be lucky enough to win a great state voucher for $50 off accommodation. The idea being to put some money back into regional communities after the pandemic. Uni and Medusa and I went away for a caching trip around Kingston using the voucher to stay at the caravan Park. We spent lots of money on diesel and food so the voucher did it's trick.
We stopped and found this cache on the way. It was an unexpected drive by.

Heading down to Naracoorte for the weekend and, of course, I had to find a few caches along the way. It was mainly caches that had been placed since my last trip down this highway including one or two that had been missed on previous trips.
This was another cache that I was determined to find on my trip south, whether it was on the way there or the way back. Like with the previous cache, I was making good time, so I was able to stop and have a crack at this one. Pulling off of the highway I followed the dirt track hoping that it would keep on going towards the cache. Luck was going my way today as I was able to park within 20-30 meters of grounds zero and after a short walk, I began my search. It did not take me long before I spied the likely hiding spot and I was soon extracting the cache and signing the log. With everything sorted, I replaced the cache and I was on my way.
All caches were found in good condition.

Mr Tardis was driving down to Millicent for the weekend. I made a detour via here to find this cache. No problems with the track access in my AWD vehicle.

Found during a camping trip to the Coorong and the Southeast areas with brisal5 and I in one vehicle, and e.gregory and friend in the other. We travelled around the Narrung Peninsula and down the Coorong where we spent the first night camped out at Tea Tree Crossing. Enjoyed some challenging driving and eventful cache finds, wandering bush tracks and strenuous sand dune climbs in very scenic areas. The second night saw us camp out in Little Dip before meandering the country roads in search of an assortment of Traditional, Earth, Multi and Puzzle caches further down the coast before heading back home via Lucindale, Padthaway and Keith. Thanks for the cache Beaker's Bunch!

Managed our way in without any issue and the cache found easily. Love the old AC and original book. Cool cache!

Trip log:
When it comes to our trips for GreyHams and myself, opportunity seems to play a big part in the timings.. be it an event, sales on airfares or car hire, in this case it was my visiting SA and being there that worked so well for this one!

So it was a drive up to Adelaide to collect GreyHams from the airport and then a trip that would see us ending up in Mount Gambier in the South east of SA, close to my family holidaying nearby and conveniently located that GreyHams could fly home to his. Perfect when a plan just comes together!!!

The primary target of the trip was counties, about 21 in total and we had almost the complete opposite need of counties from each other. Of course we also targeted other caches of importance, oldies dominated the state but there was DT, virtuals, webcams, Ausmer and types. If your cache made our list it had a quality we were wanting, or as GH says, we were waiting for a ferry or a plane!

What a variation in the places we visited, from Adelaide's suburbs out into the hills, the ferry across to Kangaroo Island for the night and the many coastal regions through Victor Harbour and Goolwa. Through Murray Bridge and out into Mallee Country to Lameroo before turning and finding a great bed and meal at the Keith Hotel. Continuing South into the very bottom of the SE of SA before returning north slightly to make the plane, in time and that arrived! So much wild life through the areas and locations of interest, it was great!

Had to love the Santas through the Adelaide hills, seems that stuffing a Santa suit is an art form all of its own, and entertained us for a long time! Kayaking to an island on Kangaroo Island was fun and although the donut from Port Elliot bakery had to pass with masses already queueing... the chunky steak pie from Willunga Bakery might not have been as good as a pepper pie later but it was still damn good! Its the little things sometimes!!!

Many thanks for your cache that led us about on a varied and very enjoyable trip!

Nice old ammo can, gets a county

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This trip came together due in the best way! Aquilus1 was over in SE SA visiting family, yet had a bunch of counties unfound between Adelaide CBD and Victor Harbour, I was missing all the counties south & east of Strathalbyn. What could be better than flying over from Canberra and being picked up at ADL airport and knocking of ALL the counties all the way to Mt Gambier, where I flew out. Last minute Covid shenanigans in Sydney & Melbourne threatened to derail it, but all good.

Of course our trips are more than just counties....we have a range of targets: Oldies, webcams/virtuals, larges with challenges and D/T thrown in for fun. If you are reading this log, then this cache had some quality we were hunting (or we were waiting for ferries or planes!)

We saw such a change in countryside, from Adelaide Hills, to Kangaroo Island, up to Borrika and then down to 'the Mount'....and the Santas! I can see areas where christmas lights arent the done thing, its stuffing your own Santa and posing them in the front garden, saw some very funny examples, we were chuckling for an hour I swear.

South Australia has such a wealth of very old caches, its wonderful. We grabbed lots of oldies and are now just a single find off our Ausmer challenges (just need to get to Melbourne or Brisbane for the last).

This evening on my way to the south east I had wanted to make the detour to this one, so I turned off and slowly made my way up the hill hoping the road was okay in my car, luckily it was okay and got within 100m of the cache and decided to walk the rest. A quick search around in the dark and great to find an ammo can. Cache and contents are all in good order.

Thanks for the cache

I was driving back towards the south-east from Adelaide with another scuba diving weekend in the caves. A few stops were made along route, including a few cache types needed for today's calendar day (a multi-cache and unknown cache). I had a chance to walk a few trails in Tintinara, and then collected a couple more caches of the wine bottle/glass in Kalangadoo under torchlight. A pleasant drive south.

There was still enough light to check out this desert camp location on my drive down, and an area that I had driven past numerous times that I had wanted to detour past. So today, I made my way down the trails, and managed to drive within 10-20 m of GZ. It took a few minutes looking around before I found the cache. The coordinates were very good. The cache container and logbook were in good shape, and I dropped a TB here (ironically enough a snow man to stay at the desert). A nice secret spot here actually, so thanks [@-Beaker-](http://coord.info/PRN1VJ) for bringing me here. Cheers for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Gevonden!

Back on the road again for another international trip. This time to Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan and South Korea.
Like our previous trips we focussed on old caches, high favorites, rare cache types and pretty locations.
Most of the trip was together with Plaguerider, Zanna and FLtravelers, but some of it I did solo.
Logs were signed as DATT (Do All The Things) and if there were answers, we typically sent them as a group.

I liked the location

Thanks for maintaining the caches for us.

**Trip log:**
Found during Team DATT's (Do All The Things) annual international caching trip consisting of FLtravelers, PlagueRider, waterfan5 and myself. Africa kicked it all off back in 2016, with a follow up European tour last year. I tried to pitch Asia but the pull of the Great Ocean Road and completing our 6th continent was too strong, and we landed on week long road trips through both Australia and New Zealand. Before meeting the team in Sydney though, I was able to schedule some layovers in Asia (Beijing, Bangkok and Singapore), so in the end I got a bit of everything. =)

**Australia Day 6 - Port Campbell -> Victor Harbor:**
The first half our day was spent along the coast, still exploring The Great Ocean Road and all it had to offer. To keep on schedule we eventually pulled ourselves away to head inland towards Adelaide. We arrived in Victor Harbor late into the evening and settled in to wait for sunrise and our hike out to Granite Island and its webcam.

**Cache Log:**
A little bit of a detour, but we wanted to grab the county. Found after about 5 minutes.

We’re on our annual international geocaching trip as Team DATT (Do All The Things) comprised of FLtravelers, PlagueRider, waterfan5, and zanna. This year we chose to explore Australia and New Zealand. Zanna and I decided to do a two-day stopover in Beijing, a three-day stopover in Bangkok, and a 12-hour layover in Singapore on our way to meet up with the rest of the team in Sydney.

Once we got the Team back together, we made a “bee-line” to Lane Cove and various caches around Sydney. Then we headed down the coast on A1. After visiting Wasp Head, we headed up through Canberra and down M31 to Melbourne, after a webcam stop on Mount Buller.

We had a great time in Melbourne, which is my favorite city in Australia so far, then onto the Great Ocean Road, the highlight of Australia for this trip. After a couple days (not nearly enough) we left the ocean road and headed up A6 towards Victor Harbor (webcam) and Adelaide (webcams) for our flight to Auckland. Seems we found every webcam in Australia.

We targeted old caches, highly favorited caches, earthcaches, virtuals, and of course webcam caches, and anything else that got our interest along the way. Logs were signed DATT. Answers, where required, were sent by one of the team members. Thanks for adding to the enjoyment of our trip with this cache. Great spot.

When you are offered a 3 day trip with 3 fantastic geocachers, well NO isn't an option Wink
Hence I spent 3 days around Mount Gambier with Brisal5, Clare007 and CPwanderer and we were joined for some of that time by Mogni and Sabsypat Cool
Only 2 DNF's Sad and 62 Smile finds made for lots of laughs and we also found ourselves in lots of prickly situations amongst the blackberries and the forests.

Day two of my holidays, heading to the Yorke and Eyre Peninsulas in SA. With a predicted top of an unusual 41° C, I chose to head to the coast for hopefully cooler temperatures. As it turned out, it wasn't much cooler, but a more scenic route. This wasn't on my original planned route, but both Tom Tom and Garmin took me down a different way, so I added a few more caches along the way. Found the cache quite quickly - lucky for me.

My thanks to -Beaker's Bunch for the cache.

We took a quick trip down to Cockatoo Lake checkingout possible campsites as we explored the local area.

Some amazing history and some great towns investigated in the 100km/hr winds.Enough to blow us over. Surprised

Awesome drive up the track, easy in the Subaru Forester and one of the best views across the valley probably never seen by all those who travel past here so regularly. Recommend this cache to everyone.
Thanks -Beaker- for bringing us here today.
