Logs
I had previously found the location but not the cache, I was short on time so I left with a DNFOn my way to an appt today I thought I'd have a quick look, I had almost ran out of time again and just as I turned away to leave I found it!, Thanks for the find, Lots of prickly branches and would be muddy on a wet day
No luck for me today things are a bit too slippery for me to try anything silly. TFTC
Wet and cold day wasnt feeling too optimistic given the logs.watched by a bunch of sheep over the fence! Found with help of the hints. tFTC
Took me and 5nag5 a while to find it. Was more his neck height than mine (short )
On a roadie with kiscardi getting some caches for a challenge. Should have approached it from the top. Got there in the end after reading a few logs. Thanks
On a roadie with Hal2929 today. We are both trying to complete a challenge requiring 100 caches from 100 different cache owners. Not so easy when you live in an area with only a dozen or so goecaching people placing caches. So Hal2929 found a good number of caches that neither of us had previously picked on earlier trips north. Thanks gibler for placing and maintaining this cache so we could come and find today. Great day out in reasonable weather. We saw lots of amazing views and picked up lots of different CO's caches.
Not much parking around here. Wandered down the path to the other place and spotted the stuff hiding the cache from view. Pillcan had a dry log to sign. Looks like the ladies look after this one now. Blossom tree in the paddock is in full bloom, ooohh pretty. TFTC
No luck in finding this one are we sure its still here? Good spot though regardless of not being able to find the cache
Took a while but found it! Path is a bit overgrown so beware in wet conditions.
This cache brought me to yet another area of Dunedin that I'm not familiar with. The streets are very narrow around here. Thanks for showing me these pathways. Nicely hidden - didn't take too long to find after reading some of the previous logs. All clean and dry inside. Found with MrMagoo72. I've uploaded a photo of the logsheet. TFTC.
A very interesting part of town I had never looked around before. A good hide. Found with MacBayMeri. TFTC.
Arlin found it in less than 5 minutes - saved me a lot of looking
I noticed neither jess_rosexo or Chloeandcarya have signed the logbook

It was way too far for me… I mean to b fair I dont live in Maryhill but I made it, but I couldn’t find it
Day 2 on a Dunners trip with Tania. She needed certain cache grabs with myself tagging along nabbing some which I hadn't found as yet. Yep there were a few 'old bases of trees' great this oldie is kept going by the locals. Cache all good. Tftc
Cache 1041 Day 2 of my trip to Dunedin to fill in some of my “hidden dates” grid. with Wombats_4 still in tow we made our way around the back streets and hills of Dunedin, was a freezing cold morning after a decent frost last night but that wasn’t going to deter us on our hunt for the precious pieces of plastic treasure. After finding a place to park we wandered down some steps and along the path, we came to the area described in the hint only to find no trees but stumps where trees once were, so if you replace tree for stump in the hint you should be bang on, cache in good shape T4TC
This was a hard one to find but it is still there thank you Ollie had so much fun
In dunnas for a while caching up with KJR..
Fun Friday #2 last day in town,
Left k in the car while wandered along the path..great wee spot with no one watching
Cache all good. Tftc

Never logged the dnf had years ago but so glad to Mae my last cache of 2021 this one.
It was cool…first hunt out for a geocache in NZ slash Dunedin City with the kids on a chilly Wednesday evening…not giving up so moving onto another one tonight
Parked near the end of the road and took a walk down this steep wilding path past the fenced stock. That was a bit of a surprise in the suburbs. A detour at the junction seen a dry clean cache found with the spare hint and some swag got swapped. This makes a difference from all the usual pillcans and micros masquerading as smalls. A local's care has seen a new logsheet placed in pillcans to keep this GZ going. Another surprise given the community feel up here. TFTC
*Forgo the walk up the stairs errr uumm eek not today.*

Went past today and found with lid partly off and full of water. Logbook and swaps were too wet to be saved, sadly, but the snaplock is okay. Put in a logsheet in a pill bottle - not as good as a logbook, but most people only sign their name these days anyway.
The tree has been cut down, so the clue is now "good old base of stump". You can reach it standing on the path, neck high.

Just found it good hiding place I had to calm down trying to find it and re read over hint and some clues given from others that have found it everything is soaked though...
It was possible to sign but the logbook is really soaking wet
Walking down the steps and finding the container was the easy part. Climbing up was harder especially it started raining a little
Greets from Germany.
Tftc. Danke fürs Dösle

Book was soaking wet container filled with water so couldn’t write name down needs a new book to write in
Had a nice wander, meet a local cat, and found a local cache. Didn't really want to stick my hand in there but it worked out. Tftc!
I never did find Glen Road; I have since seen a map that suggests it is one road further away. Anyway, I did find a good point of access to make my way to the cache site. Although I did find the treasure quickly, it is well concealed and maybe deserving of a slightly higher difficulty rating. TFTC, gibler.
Underestimated this one, but after accidentally banging my head on the railing as I was standing up I was just about to give up when I saw something that looked liked a good hiding spot and sure enough it was. A little hard to get to so I suggest at least increasing the terrain rating to 2. TFTC
Yippee!! Third time lucky with this one and easy find!! Can't believe I didn't get it before this!! Yay!!
Bit of a search for this one but going by previous logs knew it had to be there! Nice hide TFTC
All trees have been cut right back. It the birds chirping away was lovely didn't take to long to find TFTC!!
Decided today was a good day to fill in some gaps on the map in and around the outskirts of town. 2nd attempt at this one as the first time it was getting dark and J & R weren't too fussed. Turns out we were not quite in the right place! This time it was a nice quick find by R. TFTC
The amount of footpaths in this area is mindboggeling, especially if you take the ones into account that now seem to be defunct and overgrown.
The cache itself was easily located, thank you. On my way back up the path, two felines down in the bushes somewhere entered into a lengthy discussion about...well, who knows. Tuna treats, possibly. This spurred all the canines in the area to enter into a barking contest. All of this witnessed by a lonely goat, who alternated between shaking his head and stuffing his mouth full with grass.

As it was a lovely sunny morning it seemed like a good opportunity for 2 out 3 members of Team HvsH (1 human & 1 canine) to go for a walk around the hill suburbs and find some caches. To be honest the dog wasn't a great asset. She was great on bit between caches but hopeless at finding them. The missing human is far more useful!
I thought I knew where I was going but once I got here I was surprised to find yet another path I didn't know existed. It was a lovely spot, so peaceful, just the the birds singing. It took me a little while to find the cache because I was just looking with my eyes. As soon as I started using my hands I got it straight away.
The log book was a bit damp and the pen was broken so I left another one.

Had to take my little furry friend out for a walk on a beautiful winters day. I have kept a few caches around home unfulfilled for special days like today. A beautiful day to take a walk down this pathway today. TFTC
Mum got there first and had a brief look, couldn't see it so because I trusted her I thought I'd try approach from the top. JUST as I clambered up, she found it So I had to abseil back down!! [:(!]
We did find it though and got a laugh out of it, so thanks! What tiny wee streets though - good job we have a little car. Only had to do a 6-point turn to get out...!

Nice wander down path...found junction and tree no problem ....saw some lazy sheep nearby !
Thanks gibler ! Loving exploring all these snickets in Dunedin !

Took us a bit to find first ramp step from the bottom and 3rd from the top open to all to see from the right angle between 2 free stumps.
A quick find as we traipsed from open home to open home. This well-formed path was a welcome respite from the hordes of potential homeowners...TFTC!
Had the urge to go out and have a bit of a hunt in the area this morning. After a tricky bit of parking, then a rather fun walk downwards, I found myself at a rather tricky spot - I'd overshot the mark comfortably. Retracing, I got to the spot indicated by the hint, and found the cache almost instantly. Cheers!
I had no idea these steps were there, and I still have little idea where they were. Midnight after a double shift and guided by GPS will do that! I came down from the top, found the cache easily, and then turned my GPS off. I should have used it to find my way back to a main road. I will have to come back in daylight to orientate myself. Thanks.
We overshot the mark first off, but my daughter got us back on track. Our first geocache for 2014. Thanks.
Certainly a hobby to keep me fit as I fist climbed up and the climbed down stairs in yet another alley I knew nothing off.
Thanks

Nice to find, have lived in Dunedin all my life and never been up this street before
Hint proved very helpful as GPS would have had us over the fence by a couple of metres. Found with debsnz
