cache find #1556. Out on a crisp winters morning to locate some caches in the area. We found a way in that wasn't so overgrown, and made our way to GZ. Found the cache, signed the log sheet, and on our way to the next cache location. TFTC.
Out on the south side to check out a few archived caches and this was next on the list.
Parked nearby and soon we were under cover and in a world of jungle and soon I spied the island.
The crossing was easy and the booty was soon found.
We signed the Captain's log because we did not want to walk the plank.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks pirate63 All good with this cache

Stopped at my nearby cache to drop off a TB and do a check, having seen another's log about being here I thought I would come for a look. Taking the most difficult way in as well, however the find was soon made.

Relogging this under individual account, previously a member of Gaz'n'Kab account.
With the day off work today, we decided to head off and grab a few caches in this area. This one was next up on the list, and with Fangsoki and Captain Terror with us, we headed in together, and soon arrived at GZ Remarkably dry on our way in, and the grass wasn't too long, so the walk was quite quiet and peaceful
Captain Terror had a quick look in the obvious spot, and very quickly spotted the large cache [^]
A great day out and about in the area today, and with the logbook signed, and the cache returned safely, we were soon on our way to the next one
TFTC pirate63, we really enjoyed this one today!

I had this little gem on my long list of 'to go looking for' but had not made my way down to this area yet. Happily while hunting about in a land far from here I received a call that this one had been found again after so many years! Woohoo!!! I abandoned my mission for numbers and started the long journey south. I definitely knew where I would rather be searching!
A long drive later and I was diving into the scrub, I wandered this way and that, ran into more spider webs than I wanted to and finally made my way to GZ. I didn't have to search very hard to find this impressive sized container. I opened it up to find a nice new log to leave my mark. Thanks Captain for the heads up.

In my online hunt for Large sized geocaches, I came across this listing which seemed like it may have still been in place. I understood it may have been in average shape, likely washed away by rains, but if nothing else, a pirate63 cache would be in a fun area. I sent out word to Fangsoki and Gaz'n'Kab and while out geocaching together, we set off for this one.
I knew the area a little bit and so lead the charge in. Thankfully I picked the right approach and although there are many areas in here that must be a right bugger to walk through, we were able to move through the overgrowth pretty easily. Past logs mentioned the area was very wet, clearly we are having a long dry season as the area was as dry as the Sahara. The creekbed wasn't even muddy.
As we got close I spied the large beast. It was somewhat covered, but I noted not really. It has evidently been standing alone for a long time, but in the past month or so a palm tree had fallen on it. Thankfully only the fronds reached the container, so no damage to it, although now covered up a bit more. Nice aim, Mother Nature.
I plucked the container out as the mozzies found us. The lid was slightly ajar and it is evident ants often take refuge inside. This was most evident by the logbook which was well - mostly missing. I dropped in a temporary/replacement logbook which we all signed, before it was all replaced as found and we headed back for the car. I must say an interesting area in here and a great find with great friends. TFTC pirate63, this cheeky geocache lives on!

So Mr Captain Terror had a couple of caches he wanted to sus out. I had known about the other one (apparently!) but not this rare beast.
Captain Terror led the way in toward GZ. We managed to get caught in vines and eaten by mosquitoes. But like many old caches, I loved this one because it was away from the muggles. We found it quite quickly. Very impressed the beast was still there the way it was hidden.
The log was falling apart - so it was time for Mr Captain Terror to provide ye olde temporary log again. We signed the log and re-sealed it up. We hot-footed outta there with a cloud of mossies in chase.
An interesting area - and happy to do another pirate63 cache. TFTC

As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
tripped over this one a tried and true method of cache detection and what a sick and sorry cache this is the log book is beyond help and the contents are all waterlogged as well needs help urgently

Treacherous entry to get to this island. Mossie bites, scratches - all the markings of a good pirate cache. Found the cache after about 15 mins. Log book dry but lots of water in the cache (dried out as much as we could). Took travel bug
Tramped around for 20 m with no luck, found the mud, the water, the thick fern cover and a GPS that jumped everywhere. Alas the batteries died and the spares were back in the car I'll have to put htis down with the earlier potatoe caches which really challenged my caching ego today - seems after a long lay off with the horse flu I cannot even find a large cache container.
aaarrr!,good job me granpa new ye' easy way in!,did'nt stay long!,granpa said somthin' about losin' too much blood!,thanks granpa for ye' suprise at ye' booty!
Found as part of the Cool Kids Caching Comp 2007. Nice Cache.
Took: As little time as possible(to get away from those mossies) and Hummer TB
Left: A good meal in all the mozzies' stomach![xx(]

Another Pirate cache for THE CHUNKY MONKEY today! I was surprised to see the Big Black Hummer TB that my Mum and Dad (THENANKS) had with them a long time ago! My brother, Freaky Geeky, retrieved the Hummer to place in another cache. Luckily we are looking for really big caches for the Cool Kids Caching Competition!
OUT: $100 money tin
IN : A Fitness First Cap
Aaaarghh! Thanks Pirate!

Aaaargh! This was a journey worthy of Black Beard himself. Yon cache was marooned on a jungle clad island [:o]
I had to battle me way through an impenetrable wall of spikey clingy vines to find me self on the beach of an inland sea
After wading and swimming across the murky channel I battled me way through the alligator infested, fetid swamp to reach where the cache had been buried
Now drenched from head to toe yon scurvy skybirds went into hiding and led me a merry dance through the thickets [:(!]
Finally after two score ten and a tad minutes I spied the prize
Me trusty cutlass was dull from the fight to get to GZ, but was put to good use to break the rusty lock on the treasure chest
I took the Astrotraveller TB and left the Jet Black Hummer TB in this cache of ample proportions
Then began the battle to return to me ship on the distant shores. I almost fell off the edge of the world before getting me bearings again. The return journey took much longer and resulted in many more scratches which will make fine scars when they heal

Another big day on the dark side, TNLN. Snakes alive thought I was a gonner there for awhile.
Found by Sunshine Toledo and Jinga at 2:10pm. This took a few minutes longer than it should. Not sure I would want to come in here in high Summer. In: Paramedic badge Out: Small pliers TFTC
Couldn't talk the missus into joining me for a SSSnake hunt.
Even after reading some of the logs, I managed to get a shoe full of water.
The GPS snet me on a SSSS path around the swamp until I found the right spot. Enjoyed the contents but TNLN.

No water mishaps only a slight heat attack when opening the cache.Great hide TFTC.
Come in the easy way without crossing any water around last light, which led to a fright when I opened the cache. Nice one. Awesome container. Took TB and long nose pilers. Left a couple of toys. SL TFTC
Water-what water? must of come in the easy way.
A bit of a hissssterical cache me thinks.
I had to sign the log in a hurry as I was being severely weighed down by the mozzie attack guards and was unable to peruse the offerings.

Aaaaagggggggghhhhhhhh! No idea from which direction the pirate intended us to enter but thankfully we managed to do so without having to cross the creek. We even found a track of sorts. Mr HMF found the cache after a few minutes searching as the GPSr didn't settle down for a while... once it did, the coordinates seemed pretty close.
Wow! Another large cache... that's 2/3 large ones for us today.
Thanks pirate63 for the cache. We dropped in three TBs.

All four of THENANKS visited this huge cache in the daylight hours today. [^] Mr NANKS says it is much easier when the sun is in the sky! We had no dramas with water today but Mr NANKS did jump a mile when an unexpected surprise greeted us. That was the highlight of my day!
IN : Loofah, a pack of 5 gel pens, and an orange travel toothbrush.
OUT: A sticky gecko, a carabeena and 3 TB's
Thanks Pirate, you sure gave me a laugh today!

Didn't find on attempt number one. I must be blind! I'll be back, with a fresh set of batteries.
Done by a Pirate. AARRGGHH. I fell into the water up to my crutch while trying to get to GZ. I ran into Ferhgo who had been looking for 20 minutes. After a further 45 minutes we gave up. I'm hoping for Pirates sake he has put the right co-ords up. Anyway, the spot is a good one Pirates and we will be back to have a Hook-see. Cheers The Nanks
We were a little luckier than The Nanks and missed the water. Many a trap and other surprises were set by the Pirate but we had success and found the treasure relatively easily. A FTF (our second one!!). The Pirate had beaten us to a FTF earlier in the day at Pink Pamper. Took A Nice Cup of Tea TB. Thanks Pirate 63 for the cache.
Found on my return visit. It was strangely easier to find this time around, even though I was searching the same area.
Left nothing, took a mars bar wrapper. Thanks for the cache Pirate!
