Logs
Container is in need of Maintenance. Items in container are all wet mucky and log was not much better.
We replaced the log with a new one with a new zip loc bag too, but this needs a clean up or replacement as the seal may have become less than ideal before it manages to seep through the zip lock bag.

#2000!!!
8 July 2018 11:55 AM
Was thinking of having a big favorite cache for the big one! But as we were in the area... this one caught my eye.
My first cache back in 28 December 2009 was stumbled upon and we happened to stumble on this area... with a cache of the same name!
https://coord.info/GC1GAYD
I decided this would be a fitting 2000th.
Track below is falling to bits.
Cache is wet and urgh.
Have popped a replacement log and bag within.
Found with Remaker13 and Tikitour as T18

Out on a caching adventure with Tikitour and Riser5 to get 100 geocaches for the hidden creature souvenirs. Logging at T18. TFTC
Serendipity is the word that comes to mind. After a couple of changes in plan we ended up in this area and R5 spotted this cache with the same name as his first find! Well with 2000 fast approaching it was meant to be, even the last person to find had it as their first as well. Glad to be part of Riser5's milestone.

Out for a days caching with Remaker13 and Riser5 - logging as T18. As previous logs have said we found Riser5's 2000th here. Really nice spot and hopefully will be repaired soon so the beach access is restored. Cache as grotty though, we did a clean up as best we could and replaced with clean log and bag inside. TFTC and bringing me here.
I was having a fun time exploring the beach with my brother and we came across it
I was looking around and found it and I gave it to my brother since I didn’t know what it was and he wrote his name down instead of my name!
Path down to the beach is closed from the recent storm washing away part of it. Didn't stop us finding the cache.
Great place to visit. The tide was out so the rocks were exposed. After finding the cache we enjoyed a walk around looking for fossil animal tracks in the rocks below. We found some out from the waterfall. Nice hide. Thanks G-2.
Love this spot! Didn't even know it was here even though we're locals. Kids had a great time collecting shells, searching for crabs and running behind the waterfall.
Parked as suggested, and made the short walk down to GZ. Nice easy find before it gets dark, cheers
Kids wanted a walk before dinner at the grandparents. Nice walkway along the cliffs with awesome views. Within easy reach, before the track ran out TFTC.
I came up to this area for two days of caching, staying at a holiday park to save a commute back home.
I parked at the suggested location and headed up the walkway. When I wasn't getting any closer I returned to my Geovan only to notice there was another walkway. [B)]
I followed that one down and finally got to GZ and the cache. TFTC.

Finally got it after a bit of a search! Firsts Geocache I've found and I'm loving it. Thanks!
Out and about for a spot of geocaching today. With the worst of the showers behind me now, the day is turning rather pleasant. I parked the auto at the suggested spot and made the stroll down to GZ. Some interesting abodes around here. Anyway, once at GZ the cache was detected in the first spot I examined for a super quick discovery of the hide. I wandered down to the waters edge and took in the view. Tide was right in for me. Cheers for sharing this spot and placing the cache!
Nice easy found in a wonderful spot! Such amazing geology down there! Great spot for kids
Thanks for the hint. Very stormy today a great feeling for the wind and the waves.

We're new to this, so looked for a cache that was near our house. After a bit a walking around in circles we found it. On to the next one!
We set off to find on Sunday but could not. So this morning I set off again with me two youngest. Success and they now want to find more.
Had tried for an FTF nearby but the tide had come in surprisingly fast an, although close to low tide, guessing we need to be there just before low tide rather than after! So, as GAR had taken daughter to Orewa to try for her restricted licence again and had dropped me and smallest dog off, I decided to walk to this cache instead seeing as I had plenty of time. Hot morning for a walk but we had a good time and found this cache exactly where it said it was so nice fast find, thanks G--2! Name ties in well here. Took nothing but left a turtle shoe lace deco because I thought it appropriate. A nice sized cache for trackables if but had one to put in it.
Too much Christmas Lunch for us, so headed out for a few caches & a 4 km round trip.
Thanks
Thanks
The kids had fun running through the small waterfall on the beach at the bottom.
Lovely spot! Never been here before despite living nearby. Found with my daughter (Ms tery) on Sunday 22 Nov.. Tftc we'll be back for a swim this summer
Seems too easy for a Glynn cache!
I guess originally it had the whale camo!
Great spot to be shown . Thanks

On our way to the north we stopped at this beautiful little beach. The cache was found quick and easy. A wonderful place! Thank you for showing this place and the nice cache!
We had hoped to walk on the beach but alas, a high tide. We found the cache though, and popped log paper in plastic bag. tftc
Great little walkway. Have never been in this area before. Great little cache. ☺
A nice little walk indeed to another place you would never knew existed except for geocaching. TFTC

First cache, found it with another family. Thanks for the hints, hope you got your breakfast!
Nice quick find after a walk in the area .....Just finished before a shower ....Thanks Glyn
Lovely setting! Great views of the ocean. Cache was a bit damp though, so log roll will need replacing soon!
My last for the year. Thanks for bringing me to this pretty location. New log needed and some drying is required. Happy New Caching Year!
Walked along from Red Beach enjoying the low tide. Across the near GZ giant's boardgame. Marvelled at the waterfall through the tree roots. Are now feeling the sun's warmth away from the sea breeze while it dries the log. Thanks for bringing us on this explore. NINO TFTC
I'm out today with Cretti caching around the Whangaparoa Peninsula.
Found a loop track with a short hill climb, so took it for a bit of extra exercise. Quick find at GZ. Tftc! TB drop.
Find #6427. Thank you very much for the cache. 28/09/2014 10:16

We went the long way round and climbed the hill. Doh!
Find #1004. Thank you very much for the cache. 28/09/2014 10:16

Our first find! Great instructions and a very pretty location. Our geocaching adventure begins
Thanks for another cache glyn. As mentioned in a prior log, the cache was strangely logless despite having swaps. I put a rite in the rain log in the cache.
Found this one with granville86a, Amazing area, Thanks for bringing us out this way. TB Out, TFTC!
Forgot to say this cache has no log book in it and we didn't have a spare logbook on us or paper to leave in the cache. will need to be replaced
It was a wild windy overcast day when we found this one, lots of waves crashing on the rocks.
Very busy day with not much time for caching. Helping to move Son's mother-in-law from Avondale to Whangaparaoa and Son from Beach Haven to Avondale on the return trips - got 90% done with 2 trips each way, at least we've got another week to finish moveing the final small bits. In between one of the trips I nipped along for this cache (needed one older than 5 years for Geo Licence)- would loved to have had the time for a dip in the sea, was very tempting to go in fully clothed I was so hot. TFTC
Found by Lizzie10 and Roger from the UK over visiting the NZ branch of the family fellow cachers ChrisnDust.Out on our last afternoon on a mopping up expedition with Chris.A nice easy cache to finish with,a lovely beach.TFTC.
Quick easy cache. Lovely views. We used to fish off the rocks from here when the children were younger. Happy memories. TFTC
An easy find in a quiet little bay that we never knew existed. Thanks Glyn, its nice to see that not all of your hides are hard to find.
3rd for the day, While out with Kiwiz@gz.
Nice quick find on a windy cold day... This didn't stop us though as the views made up for the lack of good weather

#741, Glad to finally find a decent size cache container today, Daughter made a quick find. TFTC
Had to wait for a local muggle who happened to be down below collecting large flat rocks from the foreshore for his garden (isn't that illegal?). He stood there for quite some time watching us as we looked at the view. Finally managed to get to the cache - pretty easy find. Thanks!
Nice easy find. The medium sized systema container was there (hidden) but with no other camo attached. Also, logbook was missing so I put in a A4 sheet of paper as a temporary log. TFTC.
Took my better half & two Grandkids - this was our first introduction to geo-caching (and it got me and the Grandkids outide on a beautiful day . . . - a bit disaapointing as we didn't find any of the 5 cahaes in their area - but we all had an enjoyable time trying & visiting somewhere they hadn't been before.
Very unusual cache container...great spot to reach the beach at low tide. Puu Kanakaleonui (HI)" Green Jeep Travel Bug spotted. TFTC
all fixed, new logbook from the local caching supply shop, logs practicaly indestructable, evn when soaked you can still sign it.
Nice one...that's pretty big. Is it real?? hmmm...found the cache but rather wet as previously stated
