Nice, dont have to go past the second lime of trees, you will save some scraches
Had a bike ride around Queen Elizabeth Park to find some caches, now time for a walk. Thanks Flowerydaze for the cache.
Found it! Lots of blackberries and prickles, wear long pans and covered shoes. Not one for the young geocache finders. Tftc. Beaut day!
Found it I. The end. Under a different tree. Think my phone gps isnt precise enough.
Not too perilous getting there - blackberry has thankfully died off a bit in winter. TFTC
We have had worse blackberry patches to get through including to the nearby trig which we won't forget in a hurry! This find was straightforward. TFTC
Glad I didn’t need to go into the “thick “ blackberry. The “thin” stuff was enough for me - although quite tasty at this time of year.
I was supposed to go to Auckland this weekend, to see a band called Arch Enemy play on Sunday night. Then I was gonna get the 6am flight back home on Monday morning so I could make it to work on time. Then Cyclone Gabrielle decided to come for a visit, and Air New Zealand said no to flying their planes through a cyclone and so I couldn't go, and I was sad.
But then, there was a Geocaching event on that same day complete with five new geocaches being released into the Queen Elizabeth park region, and I was happy.
The event kicked off what ended up being a fairly decent day of Geocaching, with seventeen finds, two DNF's, and one avenged non-attempt.
As we were up this end of the park, it was time to pick off a few of the remaining unfound caches. I think I had looked for this one once before as the area seemed familiar, but as I hadn't logged a find or a not. Today it was a found.
Thanks to Clippie for placing and maintaining this cache.
I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with CO's like this placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.

Having attended an event near McKay's Crossing, at which some new caches had been released, a bunch of us had been roving as a large group to find them, and the had found ourselves not far from the Trig cache, which we attempted and found. After that find, most people headed back to their cars near McKay's Crossing but YetiNZ and I decided that we would push on a bit further to try to get 3 more caches that we both wanted to find, of which this was the first.
I must admit that I ended up getting sunburned on my arms as I hadn't realised just how long we would be out there today looking for other caches as well. Thank heavens I at least had a hat with me!
This was the first of those. The thing about Blackberry is that it grows and spreads. So we still had to push through some to get to GZ, but it wasn't too daunting. I ended up finding this cache in the second tree we looked. No real issues here. Obviously there has been some water ingress in the past, but the current log is still mostly nicely dry.
Thanks for setting up this cache.

The chivalrous did most of the hard work at this one, while I did the navigating. Other than navigating a few prickles, it was a straightforward find. TFTC. KTG
Out with KTG for a stroll along here. Decided to spend a couple hours collecting some caches along the way. Log was nice and dry. Blackberry is quite tricky to navigate through. Lucky I got long pants on. Lol. TFTC
Very prickly find! As noted in another log, further off track than expected but easy to find once there. Thanks for the cache
Definitely a blood sacrifice involved as I was wearing shorts but still a quick find and it's a stunning sunset! Tftc
A bit further off the trail than we expected, a few scritches and scratches latter, cache is on hand, also picked up a TB. Thanks for the cache
My first find of the day after deciding that trying for the nearby trig cache was a bit of an ask. This was too, for different reasons, but the walk over was honestly fine thanks to my strong jeans. No muggle passerbys too, thankfully. Grabbed signed and returned easily enough, tftc!
A nice walk up to the vantage point and then on to GZ.I found the good way in and feasted on lots of ripe blackberries on the way out!The cache is in good condition, wrote the log and re-concealed carefully.TFTC!
This wrapped up my afternoon at QEII Park. I was a bit puzzled at first because of the amount of blackberry in front of me, which can't have sprung up since the last finders. Then I noted the hint said if it's thick blackberry then I've gone too far. So I searched the closest obvious place and there it was. A lot closer to the track than my GPS was suggesting. TFTC.
We didn't really have a geocaching plan today apart from simply wandering and making it up as we go along. A nice quick find here thanks to your hint. It looks as if we are the second ones here today. So the log book has been signed and the cache is nicely back in its spot all ready for the next geo-hunter. Thanks heaps for taking the time to set up this geocache. I really appreciate your efforts in doing so. TFTC.
Enjoying a bike ride through QE park on a beautifully fine sunny, calm winter's day. From the direction I was coming I had to push the bike uphill to this one though! In spite of the helpful hints I made the search harder than necessary. Pleased to spot it and sign off this very long standing cache. Afterwards I continued up to the nearby seat for a magnificent view of Kapiti Island, and Transmission Gully in the other direction. Thanks Clippie.

Thanks Clippie for placing this cache
It was as described and perhaps getting a bit more overgrown each year but the bonus today was finding lots of ripe blackberries to eat!
As I ate more than I got scratched it was a win win when I found the cache
The geotrail should be clearer now.

Apologies for the extremely late log but the lockdown interrupted things and I never quite got into the swing of logging after, never mind catching up but I am trying to do so before the year ends.
Found with aeshna_uk on a visit to Queen Elizabeth Park. Pleasant walk up to GZ and a straightforward find. TFTC!

Ouch! The BlackBerry has grown and I lost a bit of blood finding this cache. Will one day remember not to wear nice clothes when doing this!
Went for a smallish geocaching trip through Queen Elizabeth Park after the school run. Turned out to be a horrible day for hay fever so my intended run turned into a sneezing and spluttering stumble to tick of a few caches.
Was quite an easy find here. Will be quite interesting when the blackberry grows but hopefully a little geotrail will still be intact for a while.

Thanks a whole lot! I left a rubber and but I wasn't able to write our names in it because there was no pencil! Bring your own.
Quick find by Jag50 while walking the track back to the carpark. Thanks ftc
Last for the day on a walk from QE Park to Raumati South with Bonnster. She said she had been here before but this was definitely my first visit. Great views from up here. TFTC. Cheers!
Down in the Capital for an extra long weekend before exams start, with Jag50, Merlot58 & Bertie Blowfish. Happened to take the wrong path, but decided to continue on and loacte this cache before looping back around.
With a group of fellow west Aucklanders Merlot58, Aiden29 and Bertie Blowfish To attend the MEGA and for a fun long Labour weekend’s caching. Thanks to all the cache owners for setting up and maintaining the caches. Sorry for cut and paste logs. Quick find while watching model aeroplane
I’m in the Windy City to attend the Wellington Mega with a few fellow Westies from Auckland. We’re having a great time as we explore the area collecting smileys as we go. Thanks for bringing us here, sorry for the copy and paste logs but am using a Cachly template to log as I go. Quick find here
A quick find on a lovely sunny winters day.
Cache & blackberry all in good order.
Thanks

Son thinks there should be more plasters in the cache! Found it OK, dropped off TB
Yum, the blackberries are ripe! I didn't get scratched at all, but I love that there is a plaster in the cache in case you do injure yourself!
We had the great chance to travel around New Zealand during six weeks and were able to see wonderful cities, landscapes and meet nice Kiwis. While staying in NZ many cache owners gave us the opportunity to search for very well hidden treasures and we thank them very much for preparing and maintaining them.

Last find of the day and took a while to get to the cache which is well defended by the blackberry bushes. TFTC.
A good cache to find. A clue is to stop about 10m before things get bloody.
Relatively quick thanks to the hint as the GPS was showing 10 metres further on which would have resulted in blood being drawn.
A nice easy find. CITOed an orange sweet that had infested everything in the cache with it's odour. Another entry in my Month Hidden grid completed.

Did a circuit of the northern section of Queen Elizabeth park. A fantastic walk. Beautiful day, beautiful views. Thanks for bringing me here .
Begins our holiday in NZ in Christchurch, we came from Italy to find our son who lives there for two years.
After ten days spent in the 'island of the south stopping at lakes in Dunedin in Oumaru and be returned to Chch, we decided to go north to the island with a flight to Wellington, the idea is to relax a few days between the sea and the beach course cache, unfortunately we will take four days of rain and wind, impossible to take to the beach.
But we'll make with the cache.
They expect historical cache but especially the GC46 one of the few positioned in May 2000 still alive, among other things, the oldest of NZ.
At night it rained, not ideal weather conditions, but today it is in the Elizabeth park program with its historic cache, we will travel most of the paths immersed in a typical vegetation of dunes
Greetings from Italy

Found the cache, a few blackberry scratches. Left a water balloon. Forgot pencil for log book. Great first geocache for us!
Thankfully a quick find because I hate bashing through long summer grass. Removed an inappropriate food item from the cache. TFTC.
