Took me about a month from first find to finding the loot. Had to reach out to CO because cache at #5 was missing clue. Took me a while and a nudge from CO to get the right coordinates from the clues but finally fitted them together and made my way to gz. Took about 5 minutes to locate cache and the cash. FP from me.Thanks1MinnieMoo for assistance.

My plan for today was to find a few solved puzzles and oldies in the Bunya area as its been a long time since my last visit - May 2022. I ended up finding 12 caches. I looked for this cache back in May 2022 - spending a long time doing so and trying not to get wet as the creek was quite high - about 2 feet higher than today. After giving up, I contacted a previous finder who told me that it was about 20m out. So armed with this knowledge I found it pretty well straight away - on the other side of the creek from where my coordinates had me. Im very glad to find this one at last (my last of this series) - and its been a long time between finds. Logbook signed and replaced as found. Still lots of treasure Smile. All good here. Tftc

Only late last year did I notice this series on the map and it caught my attention for being a bunch of older hides. And there's not many unfound older hides left on my map. No worries then, a little project to chip away at. The last two months I grabbed the couple I'd not randomly found years and years ago. And then I was left with just this, the final to sort out.

With a little poking about records, I had a final location saved for "whenever I'm up that way again". Which, after an event this morning, would be today. An annoyingly long, drawn-out cold means I've hardly walked or run anywhere for a fortnight, so I'm keen to get moving down this low-impact stroll.

Google Maps took me to a good set-off point and I headed down the trail. It started as a peculiar walk, given there's a dumped pile of rubbish on the track ~200 metres down, and it's co-located with what might be semi-abandoned bee hives. Odd. But onwards.

Down the gully slowly until the sounds of traffic mostly disappeared and bushranger territory grew closer. Nearing GZ, I discovered wandering up the creek was the easiest and shortest route. A few likely hides stuck out to me, but a quick scroll of previous logs revealed I might need to move away.

Completely by luck, I stumbled upon the geocache quickly, spotting it a few metres away from the first place I looked. I popped it out of it's hide and discovered the treasures within. Enough to keep someone comfortable well into pretend old age! It was when signing the logbook I realised it's been many months since the last finders. Neat.

And so I replaced all as found and noted where I was standing. 19-20 metres SW of where my phone said GZ was. And now just for my slow walk back up to the car. Thanks for this geocache and entire series, K8'n'Co. Smile

Attended an Event close by and after it finished Snickersallen, Grannysmith47, Deaf Phantom and I went on search of a few caches. This cache and took forever to find as we were looking in the wrong places. We widened our search and Deaf Phantom spotted it about 15 - 20 mtrs off course. Log signed and cache replaced as found. TFTC

13-Nov-21
On completion of the beaut Ferny Grove Event teamed up with Imbunda, grannysmith1947 and DeafPhantom to look for a few local caches.
This was our last cache for the day and after a nice walk in with us chatting all the way, we arrived at GZ. Oh course we had to read the Weekly Punctilio but we couldn't quite pick the hint for this, we searched high and low in all directions but were left scratching our heads. Okay time to widen our search and soon enough, DeafPhantom spotted the bounty full of cash.
Very enjoyable and fun series to do and worthy of a favourite point and more, if only I could. Thanks CO.

TFTC K8'n'Co.

I started this series a few years ago and have had the finals for this one for about two years. I figured I should finally find it. Enjoyed having the trails to myself and soon arrived at GZ where I searched here and there for a while before spotting it. Thanks for the cache

This morning I took my deputies (my girls) and the “sniffer” dog for a short walk along the bike tracks of bunyaville. We were on hot pursuit of the stolen cash. It was quite early so we were hoping to catch the crooks while they were still sleeping. We were closing in, the sniffer dog gave a huge round of barks and the crooks were off scampering into the scrub. Remnants of a smouldering fireplace could be seen along the river bank. We searched the area and in the crooks hast they forgot to take the loot. Our searched found the stash of coins, notes and jewellery in a little hidey hole near a tree. With stash in hand it was back to the jail house for our breakfast, the crooks can wait for another day.
Thanks for this series, I had solved the case some months back only today did I have a proper opportunity to collect and sign the log. It was fun and I can see that a lot of hard work has gone into preparing this all, so thank you. A FP from me

After following the trail of lightning Dan last weekend, the family decided that we wanted to try to find the long lost cash box. Off we set with more supplies than we had taken on last weeks trek, and with tracker dog to help sniff out any clues we embarked on another adventure. Spirits were high, and after a brisk walk, we felt we were within yards of the secret location of the long unclaimed haul. After about 10 minutes (some tracker dog), we spotted something and upon inspection, YIPPEE, the loot, the bounty. With the plague currently causing mayhem, and impacting wages, this will certainly come in handy.
Thanks very much for the adventure. Lots of fun had by all.

I wasn't sure I had the right co-ords for this one, but had enough to at least give it a go.

A lovely walk this morning with Geopup took me to my anticipated GZ, gps bush bounce had me in several different places.

I widened the search and very soon found the stash of cash. Was very happy I followed my hunch.

This has been a fun series, thank you K8'n'Co. A fav from me.

Escaped the house this afternoon for a little exercise in the heat .... well that didn't last too long before it became a loud, lightning storm complete with hail - fun times. Having ridden the storm out in dubious protection near by ish, it was suddenly not raining, so time for more walking. Wow - it may be cooler but the humidity has skyrocketed.

Now I started hunting Lightning Dan nearly 9 years ago, and was hot on his trail for a while, but then I let the trail go cold, and he has been on free reign for way too long. Waaaaay too long. Even a relatively more recent clue didn't speed things up much - but today the hounds had the scent and were loosed down the suddenly muddy dirt creek towards a highly likely hideout.

With the mozzie defense league sounding a call to arms to defend their long elusive hero I doggedly took hold of my prisoner and indelibly marked him as caught. Busted. Nicked. Nabbed. Seized. Snatched. Apprehended. laid hold of and, importantly ... arrested.

And I bet there'll be no newspaper article on the events of his capture. The 1884 media has a lot to answer for.

Thanks K8'n'Co. for entertaining me at this location.
Cool *{Overall find #7093}* Cool

Out for an afternoon stroll with my munchkins and Jelly the Wonderdog.
At GZ the cache was found without a hassle after we waited for a couple of muggles to pass. Jelly loved having a dip in the creek.

Thanks for the puzzle and cache K8'n'Co. Big Grin

I continued on my after work walk, still chatting on the phone to my friend. Time to head into the bush! Cobwebs here and there had me wiping them away with a stick. My phone initially put me much further into the bush than I needed to go, but then it changed its mind and pointed to a different spot. I really hadn't needed to make my way through the lantana! Surprised I checked a couple of spots as I headed to where my phone was now sending me. I didn't trust it anymore. The cache was in none of those places, but I spotted right where my phone was now pointing! Surprised I added my name to the log before making my way back to the track for a nice quiet stroll back to the car. TFTC

Bristracker and I had a long very hot day of geocaching between the CITO and bookend events. With a large number of solved puzzles on the list we tackled a few in the area. This cache completes the series, which have been really fun to do. TFTC

On a very hot day I felt like an explorer - or a bushranger- in the heat of the day under the Australian sun. Thanks for the challenge of a cache in the bush.

This morning a hunt for Lightning Dan's stash seemed a good thing to do. I'm still fairly new to the bushranger series and haven't found them all yet, but the few I did find yielded me the coord halves for this here final. I was a tad skeptical that it was that easy, but on arriving at GZ (and waiting out a walking muggle and a riding muggle, honestly you'd think it was a thoroughfare) a short search was all that was required to uncover the loot.

I left the cash for Dan's descendants and made my mark before making myself scarce. Thanks for the hunt **K8'n'Co.**, this find makes Smile #4072.

10/9/17, 11:05 am Find #1138
After initial plans for some sunny coast caching got cancelled this morning, I decided I needed to look at collecting some of my solved puzzles, for fear something might happen to them otherwise - and considering me solving puzzles is a mammoth thing in itself, we could not have that! However this one didn't require too much brain power, more the physical power of finding other caches first, and that I am fairly capable of (usually Razz ).
So having collected all of the other caches in this series over time, and having grabbed another puzzle not far from here today already, I decided I had to put a certain bushranger to rest too.
Parking in the handy nearby spot, I hopped out of the geomobile and began my trek, being passed by a cyclist at the start, and then nearer to GZ by 3 more flying past at great rates.
Heading over to GZ, I began to think I might not find the bushranger's stash, but repositioning myself I glanced around desperately and found the loot about 15metres from where my phone pointed me. Yay! Bushranger booty! Hmmmm now the right thing would be to hand it in to the local authorities Im sure.... but hey, perhaps they can read about the find in the Weekly Punctilio instead Wink
Thanks for the cache K8'n'Co., and the enjoyable series.

After 4 months and many many attempts to find this cache, this morning at 6 am I finally yelled out "I've found it!" Woo Hoo!!!! What an adventure.
I had gone looking for this cache back in September, using a certain search engine's map app as my guide (as I don't have a GPS unit), only to come out empty handed. A quick message to the CO confirmed that I indeed have the correct co-ordinates so I was extremely frustrated to be standing at GZ (according to the map app) and not finding the cache. So I left it waiting to see if someone else would find it.
Yesterday I got notification that someone else had indeed found it (thank you!) so back out this morning, I headed. Once again, my phone led me to the same area. Again no cache.
Luckily a friendly mountain biker came to my rescue as he thought I was either lost or caching. Thankfully he knew about caching and he told me he'd never seen anyone search in the area I was in. Hmmm. That's strange. So he kindly offered to use his GPS unit to tell me the co-ordinates of where I was standing. Turns out I was way off the actual co-ordinates of the real GZ, on the wrong side of everything (also turns out that my phone doesn't support accurate GPS ability either). So off I headed again, in search of the real GZ.
Once at the real GZ, I had the cache sighted in less than a minute. DOH! Cool cache with cool cash. Finally I can say I have completed the bushranger series. Huge thank you to my friendly mountain biker and to K8nCo ( and to yesterday's finders).
Fingers crossed Santa brings me a new phone with GPS Smile

Well what more can I say, my two bushranger partners in fighting crime have pretty much summed it up. We managed to round up that pesky bushranger and for our reward we found his loot Smile Thanks for giving us a great series. TFTC Smile

A bit over 6 months ago I joined two lovely ladies for a day of caching, and that day we found caches from 3 different series. Today, we finally were on a journey to locate the finals for all 3 series.
After a pitstop for an unloved cache at Carseldine, this was our 1st puzzle for the day. I was a bit worried we might not find it after there was a dnf but we went for a look anyway.
After a nice walk in we were wandering through the trees when Rhobocacher called out those great words- "I've got it!".
Yay! Nice to finally locate Lightning Dan's loot!
Thanks for making us visit so much of the local area K8nco.

28-Nov-16
After 6 months of chasing down this bush ranger with some wonderful company and laughs along the way, today was the day to finally find his hideout. We were a bit nervous that the recent dnf's were a sign that he had moved on, but together with Deputy RhoBoCacher and Deputy Wombles we were able to round him up! Thanks for a fun 6 months K8'n'Co. we are now looking for a new adventure! Big Grin

I have had lots of fun with this series, enjoying the creativity of each cache, as well as the journeys they have taken me. So I was really excited when I came up with co-ords for the final part and off I went early one morning. Got to what seemed like GZ from previous finders descriptions (phone was bouncing round refusing to settle). It seems a large amount of water has travelled thru recently as the plants were completely flattened and there was lots and lots of washed up leaf matter everywhere. I gave up after 40 minutes.
I have since returned to the site 2 more times, still with no luck. I will take eldest geodaughter with me next time as she has a knack of finding caches quickly. I really hope this is a case of cache blindness and not a washed away cache.
Thanks for the challenge K8'n'Co.

found with finders141 and bear0503 and geo dog rusty. Really enjoyed this bush walk. Met some bike riders on the way. So happy to find the stash. We also found steel dog . Its been a great day today. We found bushranger 2 and 3. Then we had lovely picnic. Couldn't find 4 . Found 5 and thought we may have missed coordinate s but all went well. We are getting more cleverer every cache. Tftc

Found this Cache yesterday with Que Sera, finders141 and Geodog Rusty. This was such a fun series. I loved the history and got really lost in the Story of lightning Dan. We found all the caches but one and they each captured the story line brilliantly. We were a bit worried when we couldn't find one of the caches but we decided to search for the final cache with the co-ordinates we had. After a bit of a nervous bushwalk we stumbled upon what we were hoping was GZ. Such a beautiful spot that I again didn't know existed so close to home. After much searching and Geodog cooling off in the lovely stream, we finally came across the cache. We were so excited and were yahooing and jumping for joy, drawing the attention of some passing bike riders who no doubt thought we were mad. Such a great end to the series. Thanks again K8 n Co.

It's been about two and a half years since I found the first cache in this series, but I finally completed it. A great series, I really enjoyed it and got an unloved cache to boot. I think this cache deserves a favourite point. TFTC

I had this one picked out for my number 100 milestone. Came here yesterday with Mojodojo23 duo and headed straight to GZ. Searched all around GZ with no luck. Ran out of time as one half of Mojodojo had to be at football by 2.00 so they had to leave.
I decided to try the start coordinates and after a look at the map decided that approaching from the other side might be easier. Back in the car for a short drive and then another walk along another bush trail.
Came to a fork in the trail and after looking at the compass for a bit decided to take the left fork. As always this was the wrong choice. After a couple of hundred metres I backtracked and found a small track that looked like it could be a shortcut to the other trail. Looks are very deceptive - the track wound about about all over the place and eventually I got to 130 metres from GZ with thick bush in between.
A deep breath and I told myself "I can do this". 50 metres in and both arms bleeding from numerous scratches that changed to "screw this!"
Turned around and made my way back to the track, followed it back to the trail and then back to where the trail forked.
Ok, I've come this far, I might as well try this trail. Followed it for about 500 metres and then the gps was once again pointing me 110 metres down a gully and into the bush. This time I only made it 20 metres before deciding that even if I got down there I'd then have to get back up.
Decided this couldn't possible be right, there must be something wrong with my coords.
Back home ("what happened to you?!? asked geodaughter after one look at my arms) I read back through all the logs and where I'd been certainly didn't match any logs ( a pleasant walk?!?!).
Decided to try swapping my east coords with each other and lo and behold, I now had 2 sets of coords that actually made sense in relation to each other, not to mention with the clues and logs as well.
Called up the Mojodojo23 duo and they were keen to get back out there too. I told them we had to go to the start coords first as I'd read back through all the logs and apparently the container was locked and there was a key of some kind at the first coords. We spent 20 mins searching but didn't find it. Not knowing whether we were looking for a normal metal key or a container with some kind of clue set (maybe for a combination lock?) didn't help.
We decided to continue down to GZ and see if we could find the main cache and if necessary I'd jump on fb on my phone to try and get help with the key.
Reached GZ and the cache was located very quickly and wasn't locked. Had a good look through the loot and signed the logbook. Cache number 100 done Smile
My first series complete and what an enjoyable series it was, definitely a favourite point from me Smile

13-Jun-14
We wanted to attempt this one midnight on the anniversary of "the bold raid on Friday the 6th of june" but unfortunately didn't end happening instead we tried it midnight on Friday the 13th with a full moon:D this is also the first ever series the mighty ducks have ever finished as well as holding the first cache the 4raging ducks originals tried back in 2011:D thank you K8'n'Co for a sick series with some of the best and unique caches we've come across:D #lestweforgetlightningdan

22-Feb-14
I became determined recently to finish some series rather than risk losing clues etc. In this case, I still had to revisit two places I'd been, before visiting the last two and then making my way here today.
I overshot the mark and had to backtrack and take what sounded like a creaky shortcut to the real GZ. What a nice spot and it was fun sitting there quietly while MTBers zipped by.
All was in fine condition and I really savoured the conclusion of an outstanding series: great containers, great theme. Another of Brisbane's best. TFTC and series, K8; I really enjoyed it.

09-Feb-14
Finally had a rare chance to get the family together and some free time to finish the Bushranger series. Many mountain biking Muggles passing by GZ but a lot more mosquitos ready to attack as we found the cache. I can seriously recommend some repellant if going for this one in the late afternoon. Thanks for the series and TFTC

After a false start yesterday due to not entering the new co-ords before starting, we were back today with everything entered correctly.

Parked at entry and set off. Nice enjoyable walk today and a lot cooler [^]

Arrived at GZ and started our search. Then we noticed to compass pointing elsewhere. Maybe it's over there. Yep, cache located Smile

Great series. Thanks to the CO for the cache, and also taking pity on us who gave us the co-ords out of Bushranger 2, which is starting to become our nemesis cache.

Definately a favourite from me.

Finally we come to the end of the bushranger saga Smile And what a great bunch of caches they were too. Very well done series, and a fitting end Smile Thanks for the great series K8'n'Co - definitely worth a favourite point Smile

Cache was fairly easy to find, once we got on the correct side of the wet stuff.

TFTC K8'n'Co.

After collecting the rest of the clues earlier, we decided to find this cache. Again GPS was taking us all over the place so we split up to search GZ. Matt soon found the cache filled with cash Smile. All is good with this cache Smile. Thanks for an enjoyable series Smile. Found with Matt_Eth Smile. TFTH K8'n'Co. Smile.

I've tracked Lightning Dan's movements all over these hills. Today, it was nice to finally recover the poor sawmillers wages strong box.

A nice stroll down the hill, avoiding a few suicidal bikers. Naturally, I chose the most difficult scrub to bash through to get the strong box. No wonder Dan left the box here. It is a great spot.

Fantastic series K8'n'Co. A favorite from me.

Find #929

Yay found it! It's taken us over two years to complete this series with the arrival of a new baby putting any serious caching on hold for a while. With the kids safely at home with G'ma and G'pa we were happy to put a smiley on the final cache in this series. Getting a favourite point from me. TFTS and TFTC

5/08/12 1:59 PM Find #910

NyletaM and I had start this series a long time ago, and had recently obtained a few more of the clues. We realised we were missing one of the coordinates, and so attempted to head pack to the missing one. We should have checked before arriving - it was temporarily missing in action. A quick message to the CO, and we had the missing information - thanks for that Smile

So now with all of the require information, we had ourselves a set of coordinates, and so off we headed. We found a nice spot to park, and headed off into the bush. We really enjoyed this piece of bushland,
I have taken note and will return again with an alternative form of communication.

We soon found ourselves at the posted GZ, and had to wait for a few muggles to move on before, we headed off to locate the box of cash. Cache was found by NyletaM, and stopped to enjoy the find, and sign the log.

Thanks for a fantastic series K8nCo, a favourite point awarded for the wireless as a whole.

Ok, this could be long, well it has taken us quite some time to complete it! Razz The story goes like this: We found by accident one of the Bushranger series, don't ask how or why but we literally tripped over it. We were very new to geocaching at that stage and weren't very organised so we think we took down the information and then lost it. So today we decided to revisit two of the caches to find the missing information. We were very confident in re tracking one so off we go knowing exactly where it was ...... mmmmm ok, we are sure it was there, knew exactly what we were looking for but could we find it ........ no! Twisted Confused, annoyed and concerned geohubby was passing by an earthbank when he spotted, we believe, part of Dan's attire....mmm. Twisted Not where it was suppose to be. We think it has been muggled. Ok, we still have one more to revisit. Off we head and success this time and we also retrieved the required coords. Cool Two very happy geocachers! Loved the walk in the lovely forest that we have been to many times before. A quick walk in and an even quicker find.

Thanks K8'n'Co for this lovely series that seem to go for ever.

1184 - I received an email from the cache owner a couple of weeks ago to confirm that I wasn't going to find a cache where I had searched for it on 26th Feb, as the clues were changed last year after I had found them all. That teaches me for taking too long to solve all of the pieces of the puzzle after I had found them! I decided we would make a second attempt this afternoon as we headed home from a bike ride grabbing some recently hidden caches along Enoggera Creek. We walked along the track as the day drew to a close and found some evidence Lightning Dan had been here. Found his stash at 5:12pm in good condition. Thanks K8'n'Co, this was a great cache and series we loved doing. Thanks also for the guidance on the updated coordinates.

It's my first time walking a natural trail in Aus!! T-Tech found the cache so quick that I was still fixing my shoelace before entering the bush! Thanks IolantheK and T-Tech for bringing me here!!

17-Mar-12
Finally after months Iolanthe and I got back to finishing this one. Last time we searched and searched with no sign of the treasure. This time however with both IolantheK and fiveshark following in my wake I just walked straight up to it. We though we'd be there for ages, however we had the log signed and were out of there in no time.

Nice cache series Mr Co.

It has taken us 3 months to get back to this one, but at last it's done Smile T-Tech and I had found the other 4 in this series back on 16/12 and, after putting all our clues together, we went in search of this one on 17/12, but had no luck Sad Today, with fiveshark along for the fun, we made the short trek into the bush again and reached GZ with no difficulty. It took only about 2 minutes until T-Tech called out that he had found the cache. Series solved, at last. Happy sigh Smile

Great container and stash, Mr Co. Was a little exposed so we added some cover. Contents perfectly dry.

fiveshark (from Hong Kong) had his first meeting with a string of hairy caterpillars. We have some strange critters here in Australia!

I had found the last of the standard caches in this classic series back in July last year, but for some unknown reason I had never used the clues to calculate the location of this final cache. We moved along the track and searched for at least 40 minutes for the booty, but came away without any trace of Lightning Dan having been here. I thought I had read the Weekly Punctilio well enough to give me some clues, and I thought I had found a couple of likely hiding places, but not to be today. With the offer of finding the treasure, we are sure to be back. Thanks for the great series K8'n'Co!

Finally got round to logging all my finds since starting in August 2011. Done with geospouse IolantheK. For details of the hunt see IolantheK's log for blow by blow description.

Found the other 4 today and collected clues and picked out spot for GZ. Followed the route and thought we were right on, but no luck. GPS bounce was absurd Sad then evening got the better of us, so we'll have to come back.

Had to approach GZ stealthily as a few mtbers about. Thanks for a great series of caches

Found #1 today after finding the other 4 yesterday. Can anyone tell me (privately if necessary) if I was supposed to find anything at 'start' or was it just a trailhead so to speak?Took $20 souvenir and signed log. TFTC K8'n'Co

It has been a long journey for me as #4 was my 1st find and #5 was my 5th find, so it has been awhile for me to 'get my act together' and finish off the series. Smile

At last I know the full story behind 'Lightning Jack'. Big Grin

Awesome series and had 'more than a bit' towards me continuing with the geocache game. Cool Many thanks.

Most certainly an interesting read....thankful that my attention was drawn to wait I really needed to focus on. A pleasant walk with GhostGums, Gunnie69, Kaisho53 and modelbear. Fun too examining the contents of the loot.

Thanks for the great series K8nCo. Cheers, svn07

Found today in company of Ghostgums, Gunnie69 SVN07 & Modelbear..

This is an interesting series although this find is based on piggybacking of research/finds by other team members prior to today..

With GZ calculated (having scoured a stray publication of two) we headed out to locate Lightning Dan's Loot..

Arriving at suspected location the eagle eyes of Ghostgum's soon made a find (or was it the smell of all that money that attracted him??) Wink

Strongbox and contents are still all secure, but Dan would have probably been dissapointed with the buying power of his ill gotten gains unless he liked to travel..[?]

Thanks K8'n'Co for the cache Smile[^]

After securing the last one of the pre-requisite caches only this morning, I had all the essential information to seek the strong box. Much wiser for the educational experience, I set out with Ghostgums, Kaisho53 and svn07 to see if we could secure the final episode of this series... [^]

We found the path in and followed it for quite some time before hitting our calculated GZ. On approach, we thought we might have to get wet, but ended up sneaking down the side and spotting the loot... Big Grin

I can't remember the last time I read a newspaper cover to cover... The weekly punctilio however, was scoured in depth with each edition... Wink

A fantastic series that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Cheers K8'n'Co.

What a great series this turned out to be. The newspapers conjure up the imagination as to the events may have taken place at the various sites, particularly the train robbery.

Today saw the end and the recovery of the strongbox, after following the story along to Lighting Dan’s tragic end. The strongbox was still in good condition though studying some of that dubious Chinese currency, you wonder if it was really worth the effort for Lighting Dan.

An excellent series, one of my favourites, TFTC K8’n’Co [^]

Considering ourselves very very lucky to have put ourselves within a metre of this one after being astounded at the traffic through here! Again noting the news was paramount in making this a quick get in & out. Thanks for making this a great journey to complete our first series & certainly got the attention of geokids. Made swap & put cache to bed.SL. TFTC

Our second try at this one. This time got some advice from the owner. We had literally walked all around this one without seeing it. Beautiful area although a little busy at times. Thanks for this great series. We admire your work. TFTC.

Cache site had become overgrown and inaccessable. New cache in place at new co-ords

09-Mar-11
The caches in this series have become a bit tired and weather beaten so I have closed them for refurbishment.

10-Sep-10
I put a monumental amount of effort and time into finding this cache. And it was all self-inflicted. I had not recorded ALL the information when I collected the clues. I had ended up with a big mess and had to investigate multiple sites - involving big walks and going cross country a little. I checked them all - on 3 different days. I admitedly had to approach Mr K8'n'Co to confirm I was finally in the right area - and I was. Started the hunt with the offset co-ords. This didnt seem right for me - so I went back to the original co-ords. Still no good. The GPSr bounce was very bad for me. Widened the search and finally came up with a very well-deserved cache. I really did enjoy the walks - but was very glad I came up with the goods.

A thorougly enjoyable cache - despite my own personal failures. TFTC K8'n'Co Smile

YAY!!! Finally we found it. After many visits, much (unnecessary) crashing through the bush and a humble e-mail to K8 (thank you so much for letting us know we were actually on the right track), we finally got our hands on the payroll. We'd read the Punctillio's cover to cover. Yes, we'd found that clue, and that one. Our first instinct ended up being the right one but we needed to widen our search a bit. We are finally able to lay poor old Dan to rest. Mrs Goodlookerz was the one to finally give the "Oi, it's over here".
Thank you K8"n"Co. for another brilliant series. We thoroughly enjoyed it even though it led us on a merry chase.Big Grin

04-Jun-10
At long last we found it. This search actually started before I was a Goodlooker officially, when Mrs Mate was introducing me to caching. I have actually done all the clues but can't log the others as I wasn't a real cacher. Only 3 and a half months later (I only visit every few weeks) we found Dans stash with much glee. There was much crashing through bush and many "I don't think this feels right", but with a bit of reassurance that we were on the right track (thanks) we managed to finally find the loot. Love it.

I'm pretty sure that this is one of the longest cache-hunts I've had in a fair while. I found the required equipment on the way down and then spent a good 45 minutes searching throughout the bush. Found lots of great hiding spots, but no cache.

I then tried reading all of the 'Punctilios' again. I wonder... went looking around again, but no.

I tried doing something different with the numbers... I was getting warmer!

Then, just as I had found the cache and was headed back to the bike to sign the log, muggles. Thankfully I could hear them coming a mile away. Managed to stand next to the bike with the drink-bottle in hand, pretending that I was having a drink. I don't think they suspected otherwise...

So, with it starting to get quite dark, I signed the log at ten past five and replaced the cache. Why is it always uphill back to the car?!! Replaced the equipment and was back at the car at about 5:15.

That was a most enjoyable day out Big Grin Thanks, K8'n'Co for giving me a reason to come out this way and get some much-needed exercise Smile I'm sure I'll sleep well tonight Wink

This is proving to be rather challenging..! I've now searched for about 2 hours on 2 different occasions and just can't spot it. Have tried original, adjusted and reversed co-ordinates with no luck. Hmmmm....maybe next week!?

04-May-10
No luck for me today on this one. Sad I, like others, did not read the 'paper' properly so I will return soon now that i know more.

05-Apr-10
Proper prior planning and all that... Not a good run with your series' today!! Got to GZ and after quite a search, found the strongbox. Alas, we had not subscribed to the Weekly Punctilio! Let that be a lesson to all the future hunters. After much legwork (*insert more stupidity of the Lokipagans here*), the issue was eventually addressed and the bushranger series conquered. Took GC. Thanks for the fantastic series, K8'n'Co.

25-Mar-10
At last !! I've really made a saga of this series but it's been a lot fun. Thought I had it solved last year until dyslexia led me astray. Thanks K8 for the correction.

Thanks for the challenge, the caches and the fun K8’n’Co.

Been awhile since this was last found, so no traces of a geotrail. We started at the nominated start point and picked up the needed items, then headed for the cache. (the needed items could do with a clean and maybe a bit of WD40).
Went to the nominated co-ordinates, it didn't look promising, but we had read the notes. so added the offsets and found it without much difficulty. The adjusted co-ordinates were just about spot on.
Thanks for the series K8'n'Co, we enjoyed every minute of the quest. Took $50. Left pesce dispenser and an old one and two cent coin. SL. Thanks again for for the fun of the chase that took us to a few to new places

Were up early wanting to finish off this series bright and early. We set off to gz with geopram in tow. going down... hmmm poor geodad has to get the geopram back up again. Never mind we're here now lets just get it done! The gps was not our friend at all having us do laps of where it though gz may be. No luck so we went home and looked over the weekly puntilio's and good thing too as we overlooked a few clues. . So with all the clues and new co ords as per k8's note we set out again and this time we were on the right track. We left the geopram in the car this time and geotinykid walked. And what an adventure he had. Gps was spot on this time. Found the cache just where Lightning Dan left it!
ANother thoughtful and adventurous series, thank you for your efforts K8nCo!!

Yes! Finally finished this series! Had DNF this morning and realised we left our hints at home so we headed off to get a few more finds and back home to re-read our hints. OHHHH I didn't notice that before! Sure enough we headed back out swung past the Stump and found the cache. GPSr was misbehaving under the trees but with a little luck and K's super keen cache sense we soon had it in hand. Once again Thankyou for a wonderful series of caches. T GC L GC SL TFTC!

Thanks for a great series of geocaches, sparked the geokids imaginations and we all discussed Lightning Dan rather that the usual "how much further?" and "is it lunchtime yet?". I suspect that we'd have reduced the walking back and forth if we'd have read the paper more thoroughly. Left the wild ride GC. Thanks again.

I've had a few adventures with this series, and this final instalment was no different. Pedalled off from the geovan and wondered if it would have been wiser to walk. Soon bypassed the fallen trees and all was good, though mostly downhill Surprised. That's always a bad omen for the return trip Twisted. Stashed the bike near GZ and set about searching. Several bikers rode past, but only one looked at me quizzically. Found the cache after a lot of looking. My GZ was about 10 metres away, but when I saw the real GZ, I was immediately confident. Read the note on the strongbox and thought, "oh, that's just plain nasty". Lucky for me I read the paper, so used what I'd brought and opened the box [^]. TN/LN/SL. By this time, Garmin was telling me I was only 3 or 4 metres from GZ [:(!]. Set off for the return uphill, but it was a lot easier than I thought. Thanks for the series. It was a very enjoyable.

Found and series complete

Well it was about time to put hte bits of paper together and read the punctillo once again. Nil issues with cache but the forest around it has a few. Thanks for a great series.

08-Jan-09
The offset in K8nCo's log of Feb 9 sent us even further in the wrong direction up the hill. We eventually found the cache at 12:35 using an additional hint from Dwan. We realised afterwards that adding the numbers in the offset instead of subtracting would have got us to the right GZ.

TNL crocheted hairpin.

Thanks K8nCo for a very interesting series.

05-Jan-09
We thought we had all the correct information including the keys but no luck. Wish we had read all the logs including the suggested offset.

21-Dec-08
The track still has a few trees across it but the bikers have created detours. Cache in good nick.

18-Nov-08
Recent severe storms may have caused damage to this cache. Even if the cache is safe, the area may be a danger as it is strewn with fallen trees and debris and should be avoided. The cache will be inspected as soon as it is possible to do so.

A great series, finally found and recovered Dan's strong box today. TFTC and the adventure.

Found at 0938. Well at last I have found the Cache. I know the weekly paper is suppose to reveal the Key to this riddle but I couldn't find it so it was the hard way for me. Anyway it was fun doing it. Cache Dry and well. Thanks for the help and chalange. Good one.
