We were supposed to be home in Australia by now. However, our Vancouver to LA flight was delayed by many hours (mechanical problems and then some passengers who had to be off-loaded after we were ready to take off). Meant that we missed our connecting flight and have to overnight here. Well, never ones to miss a chance we headed off to grab a few caches near the hotel they put us up in.
While we walking through the area couldn't work out why it would be so deserted and the walkways so dangerous. Thanks for all of the info on, and attached, to your page we now know. Great to try to understand the politics of another airport expansion proposal.

This one took us a little longer than it should have - mobile home in the proximity of the cache (did not want to disturb the occupants). We found it eventually. Area is quite the maze of roads.

gateward and I got to LAX an hour before irish10 was supposed to arrive, so we went caching to fill the time. The description saying no muggles and parking nearby attracted us to this weird area. We found the cache pretty quickly, and it is my first cache find in LA County and first cache find between 50-100 miles from home! I also kept my August find streak going. TFTC!
Woho , our first cache after the arrival to the US and our third nation this day (besides Sweden and Iceland) after leaving home via ARN - KEF - SEA - LAX.
Very interesting (and kind of sad) place from the UE point of view.
TFTC and Kind regards,
Lars & Helena (Örebro, Sweden)

In L.A. to drop a friend off at LAX and decided to put this location to good use. Fantastic weather today, perfect for a cache run. Thanks benh57 for adding a bit of fun to my day [^]

The Better Half of the team works at one of the manufacturing facilities that is on LAWA land. It had an open house-barbeque-carnival sort of thing today, for employees and their families. Afterward, we stopped by here for this cache. The other half told the story of "Hahn's Folly", and then we looked for the cache. Found it quickly, but had a bit of trouble retrieving it, as it kept moving away. I put something in there that might help keep it from slithering away. Thanks for this cache in an interesting, sad, forgotten corner of The Southland.

Placed a new log pad! The last cache in the USA, for a while, heading back home to Stanwell Park in Australia. The Arkaroo had a wonderful vacation, starting here at LAX, where I met with YxZd and their clan. First day, as today, on Malibu coast, then heading east into the desert. Palm Springs, Joshua Tree, Kelso Dunes, Las Vegas, Bolder, Route 66, The Grand Canyon, Page, Zion, around Las Vegas, Death Valley, Siera Nevada, and here! My flight is over Auckland, so may grab a first cache there tomorrow...
Probably back to Boston later this month, though!

Stuck at LAX for 24 hours because of a missed connection, I made my way down here to get at least on Californian cache.
Strange area, and I was surprised to see one of the old houses still appears to function as an Acquisition and Relocation project building, though I can't imagine that much happens there most of the time.

Our 3700th find, and it is a nice one. We were here a few years ago, but we weren't able to have a look because of a police training exercise that was taking place. Today we were able to find it, and we left a TB here. TFTH.
Had a 7 hour layover at LAX so went for a 17km walk to grab some caches while I waited.
The hardest part was finding a quick way out. TFTC.

We couldnt get to this one in 2007, but we didnt have street maps. Alot easier when you can see the way to get in.
Interesting history, and a lot of empty homes.

Ended up spending the day at LAX on our way to New Zealand because of a missed flight. However, I had packed my GPSr in my checked bags so we found this one without it. Nice, easy find and I also discovered that my son, Fotbalist, doesn't proofread! TFTC!
Attended 1930.
Walked over form my hotel for the evening. Was a little errie, but still a find.

I stopped by to look for this cache near my hotel; I'm staying in LA overnight as a layover on a flight to Sydney, Australia.
It was a cool morning, and yes, Manchester Square didn't have anyone around. Weird place... the streets are obviously laid out for a neighborhood, but with most of the houses gone.
Picked up a TB that I plan to drop while in Sydney. Thanks for the California cache!

Well this one was only 385m from the hotel. Seemed like an easy one to get to. Well there were more fences than we bargained for which made us take more like 800+m to get to.
Interesting spot and very deserted. Quick find. Added a New Zealand 10c coin into the cache as NZ is where we are from.
