I am planning to collect the caches along here to Whiskey Creek. The afternoon is getting on and i am woefully unfit, but hopefully i will have time to complete them all. So far it has been a very pleasant wander and a terrific cache in such a lovely spot too. [CATS] - Grass Tree Left is find number 4,286 for me. I found the coordinates to be accurate, the cache in good condition and the log dry and with plenty of room to sign. Thanks for placing this cache for the rest of us to enjoy caughtatwork.*Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*

I've been planning to do this loop for months, but work, family & weather always stumped me. Today, despite having limited time, I decided to give it a go. Being on my own, I decided not to tackle the loop but started with Square Bottle Track. This was a nice hide but I confess to getting the heebie jeebies. Many thanks

As I made my way along the Squarebottle Track towards this cache, I had a quick read through of the description on my phone. I very quickly spotted some information which would assist me in finding this cache, along with the hint, and so I confidently continued my way towards GZ. As I neared GZ while walking along the track, I quickly spotted the hint item off to the side. This was very easy considering how well it stands out amongst its peers. I began making my way over to it, being very careful to avoid unnecessary steps on small plants. After some careful footwork, I made it to the item then located the cache very quickly. Carefully, I grabbed the cache, making sure to avoid getting any pointy bits in my eyes. I soon had the cache safely retrieved and opened it up to sign the log. All was in good condition with this cache and, after placing every back, I continued on my way.TFTC

1st in the park at 10:48am. Cool
We were heading up Razorback Track to its end and beyond, but before that, my partner was particularly keen to wander up Square Bottle Track just to get this one. Razz
I think catnap777 was hoping to find a feline themed cache. Honestly we didnt realise till later that the name was an accronym, but yes, it is always nice to find anything larger than small in the bush. Red Face

Found with dalerious Razz and first one for Lerderderg for the day @1048hrs on what turned out to be a big day out Big Grin.

I would like to think that CATS stands for the feline variety, domesticated or wild (like me TwistedWink), so I will keep the thought that this cache was placed for me Big GrinCool.

Grabbing this cache was the start of a wonderful journey signing logs on some monumental caches, in just a small tip of Lerderderg.

Thank you caughtatwork, your cache was found in good condition.

In the area for the nearby "Celebrating 20 years of Events in Victoria" Community Celebration Event. A lovely wander in to this one. Chatted with some hikers back at the junction too.
Thanks for this nice sized geocache caughtatwork. We need to see more of these.

April 10, 2022 8:30 AM

An early morning start before tackling a big hike to get to today's event. I'd cached the Razorback trail previously so while waiting for my hiking partners to arrive I thought I would grab a quick few along the Square Bottle track. While I was getting prepared McLookers and SteMicMitStar arrived so we teamed up together. Thx caughtatwork ftc and a great day to be out hiking here again.

*Cache find # 12663.*

Today I headed out to attend the Meet by the Mine event but first of all I was meeting up with McLookers at the start of squarebottle track so we could hike in to the event this way and find a few caches along the way.
Perpetuallylost joined us for the first few along here before he turned back so he could up with his group as they were going a different route.
It was certainly a great day for it and the company was great, we didn't have too much trouble finding the caches we looked for but by the end of it all the legs were a little tired.

**Thanks to caughtatwork for placing this cache.**

Dropped a Trackable - it came a long way with help from friends from UK to Australia during COVID. Needed the help of a pilot. Help it out if you can, leave for another if cant. Nice place to drop. Grass trees are one of my fav local plants. Majestic. TFTC

We initially walked past this one, and had to back track to find it. But it was a stunning walk on a beautiful (almost) spring day with lots of wildflowers out - such a lovely location.

A great little group of caches, most haven't had a visitor since the outbreak so it turned into an enjoyable way to do a bit of self isolating. Many thanks for the cache.

24-May-20
After a really really long hiatus and a really long isolation, we decided to go for a bit of drive where we thought no one else would be and dust off the old geocaching boots. This was the second cache we found with miss 6 and mr 9 quickly spotting it. TFTC

15-Apr-20
Yay! We liked this one. Being from UK caches in this type of container are always wet inside, this one was beautifully dry and in order. We also prefer the big caches! Of which we have found several today. TFTC
PS we love the grass trees too, they remind me of the fiber optic lamps you can get.

Found a bit of spare time today so I thought I would use it productively and find a few caches.
Headed up to the Blackwood area to add a few more smiley’s to my map.
Parked the Geocruiser in an area that I have been before but ran out of time last time I was here.
Headed up the square bottle track to find the ones along here.
Grass tree is a great name for a plant but a tad confusing as well, I spotted the hide on approach and soon added my name to the log.
Thanks caughtatwork TFTC.

Thanks mate. Great one.

08-Sep-18
A rare spare afternoon ended up in master 9 and myself descending on the Lerdie for a hike to knock off some of these caches. I've driven past the track here a couple of times since caching but never had enough time to stop and walk. Today we tackled the 8 caches here from the dam to the end of Square Bottle Track. All up it took us about 2 hours return as we are pretty slow going. Lots of variety in not only the caches but also nature, plenty of laughs, lots of huffing and puffing on the hills and some quality time together. Many thanks for the cache which was an easy find - we really appreciate it.

My muggle daughter and myself are out this weekend for a overnight hike. Somehow I have talked her into stopping for a few along the way. I love how geocaching and hiking go hand in hand. I just love it. We have had a lovely weekend but didn’t bring enough water, by the end of the two day hike we were dreaming about water. Thank you for bringing me to this lovely location. I have missed a few along the way, it just means I will have to come baok this way. Thanks heaps

Headed for a nearby historic event today, the 15 year anniversary of the first geocaching event in Victoria and so my challenge today is to visit caches of some significance.
Love these plants although my label for them is no longer seen as appropriate, tough titties, a blackboy is a blackboy!
Nice hide...

Sorry caughtatwork!
This is a *very* late log. I did this one with SueHut eleven months ago. I knew I had signed the log, 'cos when we're doing caches together, SueHut's too busy looking at the trades to worry about doing the paperwork. I need to catch up, so we don't double-up on our next visit to Wombat Forest.
Thanks heaps, caughtatwork!

12-Jun-17
Love the concept of putting out big caches in protest of all the stalls out there. Keeps the kids interested. Thanks

Another eventful evening night caching with the Simsfamily and Neviile Devil.
This hide location must be my crytonite as every time I encounter them I approach from the wrong angle and don't search that 90° Section or was it torch light. But from a different angle the cache was spotted.
Log signed and replaced as found.

Thanks for the cache caughtatwork

Pretty much did this route as an wind down from the Yorick Odyssey (half way) before returning to Ballarat. Besides it was still light at 7.30pm and I had 90 minutes of light. Tremendous fun and quality caches along this track even though you are not allowed to drive your car. Oops I found this out after when leaving. Last one for the day. TNLN TFTC caughtatwork.

If your gonna put an ammo can out your gonna get a favorite from me. Throw it in the bush and it does not get any better than that. Thanks caughtatwork. TFTC.

I hadn't been aware of some of the special aspects of this cache when planning which caches to find after the Pykes Creek CITO but upon having a little bit of a closer look they quickly became apparent.

Firstly, this is an old cache. Not the oldest but pretty venerable. Secondly, one of the few surviving put out by caughtatwork, a cacher who has been playing the game/partaking in this hobby for quite some time. Lastly (and this was what attracted me in the first place) it is a regular sized cache, fairly rare in metro Melbourne but a little more prolific in these sorts of locations.

Thanks for maintaining the cache for the community's enjoyment, caughtatwork and btw, I hope you organise another swap meet-type event, I missed out on your last by a month or two...

01-Nov-16
After attending the nearby CITO event at Pykes Creek I headed off in the direction of Blackwood to search for some other caches to finish the day off. I didn't quite make it to Blackwood but found plenty of quality hides anyway.

After making a last minute decision to head off down this trail this was the first stop along the way. I spotted the nominal hiding spot from afar and aside from a few scratches was happily signing the log while admiring the tree. Thanks for the cache caughtatwork.

Suscoe decided to have a day out in the Bacchus Marsh and beyond regions today. It was a pleasant day, cool to mild with a bit of cloud covering the sky for most of the day.
At least it was dry and we did enjoy our wanderings here and there.
We like this part of the world but sadly don't get up this way often enough.
The roads were pretty quiet today all the way around from home back to home again.

Thanks to caughtatwork for this hide, we appreciate your efforts with this series.
All quiet near GZ today.

I was in the Blackwood area and circumstances basically had me confined to drive-bys.

At some stage I said something to the effect of "Stuff the circumstances" and I decided to attempt part of this trail. I really wasn't equipped for anything too out of the ordinary and didn't have the time required for a complete circuit.

So I jumped out of the car and grabbed a bottle of water and other essentials (pen, GPS, spare batteries) and off I went. Now where I parked was another car, so I was expecting that I may come across another walker or two.

As I wandered towards the cache I saw four men in black walking towards me. They were carrying a heap of equipment such as machetes, a bass guitar, an electric guitar, a snare drum and stand and some video equipment.

I made some comment to them about me feeling ill equipped after seeing them. I should have said that normally when I go walking I just take an iPod, but I wasn't fast enough.

They just laughed.

The drummer was a bit behind the other band member (not entirely unusual). He said to me "If you had have been a bit earlier you could have been in our film clip".

A little up further from meeting the band the countdown to GZ began in earnest.

Good coordinates soon had me here.

Nice find.

A pleasant drive in the country, a walk along the trail and a cache too. There was a lovely breeze as we made our way and although we were expecting to become warmer, with the sun not breaking through the cloud cover, it was very mild.
Thanks to caughtatwork for the cache.

[Green]Todays mission is to get the Jeep dusty and go off road to do some exploring through the Lerderderg, Wombat State Forest and around Blackwood. The weather was perfect and so was the caching, which has brought me here to find this cache in good condition with accurate co-ordinates. I like the container too!

Thanks caughtatwork Smile for bringing me here.

Today was my monthly caching run with Biggles Bear, and the area today was around Mt Blackwood. The bulk of the caches were along a couple of great walks, with a few extras around Bacchus Marsh at the end. Biggles Bear had already done this one many years ago, so I did it on the way out.

My thanks to caughtatwork for the cache.

[red]Find #2054 Traditional #1730 [/red] Big Grin

After our first find of the walk, we were now on the bush track. I love the idea of CATS, i'll have to look for some more of them too. This one took us off the track a little. Maccamob had already found this one, still took a few moments to find this one. Well hidden. Stamped and replaced as found.

I put this on my list of walks to do some time ago and suggested to our geocaching friends and if anyone else wanted the walk, to please join. Maccamob was only to happy to come along and it was great to have the company. We had a great walk, a great chat and many laughs along the way. Stamped and replaced as found.

On todays caching trip with Ostara74 and LouiseAnn this was my find no.11 of the day. We walked along the path and seeing the effects of the last bushfire I was wondering about whether the cache would be intact at all. But it turned out I did't need to worry as I spotted what I was looking for and the cache turned up right where it should be. The other two remained in the background as they had already found this one on a previous trip but I gladly noted this as my find no.11 of the day.

Thanks for rhe cache and greetings from Norway Smile

An extraordinary number of different containers laced with humour and generous swaps made this a fun afternoon in perfect sunshine and temperature. Lots of birdlife and nil snake life. No one but myself and my excellent sense of humour to share the afternoon with. Off we go...

This one was spot on. Who would have thought - truth in advertising.

Thanks and cheers!

Find number 14 and the last for the day out and about With ThePacman, Jacko83 and the Geopup Bentley on a perfect day for a walk in the bush. By now, legs were becoming weary and we were almost back to our starting point, but we had enough energy for just one last find. Whilst ThePacman waited (he had already found this guy), I spotted our target from a distance and we headed in. A quick search and we had the solid cache in hand, although I must say that by this stage, Jacko83 was lying down on the job, but after 15km of hiking, scrambling, slipping and sliding, who could blame him?
Thanks caughtatwork for the cache and for showing me a new part of the world Big Grin!

Knowing that I still had two more to find that the others didn't need to, I sprinted (maybe that should read: 'struggled' Wink) ahead. Upoj had me going in a circle for a moment before finally honing in on the stash at 17:05. This grass tree is showing a bit of dieback but nowhere near as much as the one covering its [url=http://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga0799]GCA neighbour[/url] across the way. Surprised

We knew we were getting near the end of this testing circuit now, with this being the last cache for us to find before making it back to the cars. Took the deviation (to the right for us) and found the cache at 5:13pm. When we got back to cars a decision was made to abandon the usual post-walk BBQ and head to the pub in Bacchus Marsh for a feed and talk over our war stories for the day's bushwalk and caches - and to plan the next one!
This was our 3900th cache Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin
