Survived almost 7 years....I guess I should be thankful for that.
Cant help wondering if a group find attracted the attention of the locals....hopefully not.
Still it's with sad heart that I archive this one. I just dont have the heart to create another like it
So I guess its vale dak

No cache container like in the photos, just the contents which have kindly been gathered up and re-hidden by the previous cacher.
It looks like some miserable lowlife has stolen dak.
I'm disabling this for the time being. I could build another cache like the original...it'll probably be archived
If anyone is in the area...please keep an eye out for a homeless emu

We just found the cache contents spread over at the coordinates. Logbook completely wet, so no log on paper possible. Hope it is ok to log it as found though. If re-installed, we will come again to see what we missed today.
Logbook is thoroughly drenched, looks like there was bit of a downpour up here with that rain yesterday (first decent rain in AGES). tftc!
Hotwheelsduo (today just uno) spotted this one. Another brilliant creation. Tftc
A day out with a group of cachers working our way along Wingaap Drive. I had heard about this container, and was looking forward to it and it definitely did not disappoint. Love love love this cache...definitely a favourite point from me. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into cachers - they are absolutely works of art!
#320 - Out for the day caching with (partially) new geo-friends: Hot Wheels Duo, Team DNF, Lost2Found, and Ryssa6. The plan was to do Wingaap Drive, because of the great caches that he seemed to have put out. Whoever told us so, they were correct!
I like caches with a bit of history, whatever the history may be, even better if they are in memory of a fellow cacher. I loved the container (cover).

Another great construction from wingaap! We had to brush away some angry looking ants from the container, but we logged the find and headed back down towards the reservoir. TFTC!
Our fifth and final find of the day, before the coming sunset got the better of us. We headed over from Temptation, and after struggling up to Y.A.B earlier in the day, getting to Dak was like a walk in the park. I must admit I let out a little screech as I turned a corner and saw it sitting there in front of me! Every time I find a Wingaap cache I think "well, THIS one is my favourite". And then I find another one I like even more. That being said, this is my favourite so far! TFTC, Wingaap, and thanks for providing so many great caches, which made a fantastic day for us. We'll be back this way soon to notch up some more smileys.
Parked the car nearby along a safe bit of road. A pretty wet day but not a worry for a avid geocacher! Walked down a little trail to the GZ. I was rewarded with a brilliantly crafted container. Nice one Wingaap! Fav Point TFTC
Dak memorial is amazing cache, walked up very steep mountain, worth the exhausting find, beautifully made cache.
Woohoo love the art and the workout ... Thanks Wingaap ... Great memorial ..
Well I definitely took a route which would have been a higher terrain rating...anyway, I love these creative caches!!!! tftc xx
We took the forestry trail from mt nebo road, which was not the best way. Tftc
Aaah Dak. Having not started this caper until well after 2008 I never did meet the man, but having cached in several well dispersed parts of this land I have seen his name, his memory living on. A fitting tribute for the micro-loving Dak brought a smile to the dial. Well disguised.
Thanks for placing this cache, wingaap. Found in good condition.

First find of the day. After parking the car I wondered how to get there. I walked quite a bit before I found a way up. An then? My GPS drifts enormous, not only this caches, so it was a bit hard to guess what it was looking for. And then I saw it, WONDERFUL!

This was my last geocache for the day and a fitting end too; we took the little road up to the closest point to GZ, which was a 3 point turn from the Patrol, coming from the direction we did! Once we negotiated that we arrived at a good parking spot, only to find someone else parked there, which was not really a problem, as I could see the GZ was still sufficiently far away that they were not going to see what we were up to (and would only wonder what the weirdos were doing heading off into the bush...). I looked into the car and saw it was a gentleman by himself, which again, didn't worry me, for two reasons; I had the Geobeast with me (and she is very protective) and also, he was busy playing his trombone..... as you do.
Ok, with a smile on our faces (the Geobeast always has a smile when we are out bushwalking) we headed off to find this one, once again, not having the slightest idea of what we would find.... the Geobeast in fact made the find first and what a magnificent find! We were NOT expecting THAT! Awesome piece of art and a lovely little viewpoint as well. As usual, ticks all the boxes; TFTC!

Great cache, easy to find. A bit of a hill climb but great spot to see the motorbikes screaming past on the road below.
Awesome hide. Loved it. Great thinking Wingaap. Added to swag collection. TFTC. SL

I have finally made my way to Wingaap Way while I have completed one Wingapp cache in Stanthorpe it was finally time to pickup some of them closer to home. Tis one was certainly worth the wait. A impressive hide, that instantly made me regret I was caching solo today. I know the family would enjoy these style of hides. I look forward to some more today!
This morning I finally made it out onto Mt Nebo Road (where I was planning to start the day, but things got in the way).
So I head into the bush and start towards one cache with a feeling of being watch, then suddenly I get that feeling of being watched, and I take a bit of a look around and suddenly spot the beady little eyes of this cache guardian.

I was on a drive up Mt Nebo Rd with EggInTheSky to search out some legendary Wingapp caches. This was the first on our list to try. It was a very dark night, being just past the new moon, but the sky was clear and the stars were spectacular.
We parked at a convenient spot and suddenly heard the roar of engines. The road had been quiet, but it was time for the motor heads to add their particular contribution to the night time music of the bush.
Having waited for the roar to pass and the smell of burnt nitro to settle, we crossed the road and took the walk uphill towards the cache. A little bit of a bush walk and then wow. A wonderful cache in a great setting. This one could go in a gallery.
After a couple of minutes of admiration sought out the log book and signed up. TFTC Wingapp.

Another great Wingaap cache. Every little bit helps for his W20k milestone. TFTC
I have seen some daks emu mob caches, maybe in Melbourne? I never knew him, started the game recently, but have heard of his legend. By all recollections he seemed like a wonderful man and asset for the game. We appreciated the work behind this one and took a few photos before sourcing the log.
Cheers Wingaap. Great work here

First find with Dannza on our much anticipated trip along Wingaap Drive. No ex cyclone was going to keep us from completing at least some of this mapped out trip. We checked the weather and booked into a local Lodge so that we had a base to run to if necessary. With rain gear packed and plenty of food and beverage in case of an emergency haha off we drove into the mountains. I jokingly said - right - we are going to stop when the clouds reach the top of the car. Dak was our first cache and after a slippery scramble we stumbled on to an Australian Native that had obviously been struck by lightning. We located the cache container, took photo for our trip album, signed the log and left the poor creature in peace. Thanks wingaap - we knew this was the start of a great day of caching
First cache for the day. Cool container. Was expecting something a little different. Lol tftc
Went fo find this cache with fangsoki. The cache is in a very well crafted container I really appreciate the effort that was put in making this cache. I'm glad to have this on the list of caches I've done. TFTC wingaap!
Found it on a geocaching trip to this national park together with omaster and membsec. Most of the caches has membsec already done so they were just watching us for the most of the time but there were also caches they havent done. The series was very interesting, the CO must have put a lot of work into this. The forests in Australia are much more wilder and dry so I still do prefere the ones we have at home in Sweden I think . We had to come back to the car and pick up a pen. I really liked the container! FP. TFTC
We decided to do a caching trip around the mount Nebo area today because we heard it was a good series. So with membsec tagging along so they could also grab some caches they had missed lenicka.second and I grabbed the caches.
Definitely a unique hide TFTC

Really well done!
Took a little scramble to get up, but well worth it.
All is well, and I left a Geocoin!
Thanks, wingaap! You've made this road so much fun

Came out this way with my brother in law and his wife who are giving Geocaching a go. While I naturally thought this was brilliant they were a tad worried about the terrain. The large spider that was mere centimetres from his hand after he picked up the cache maybe didn't help. It gave us all quite a fright. Really neat cache, thanks.

Needed a day of inspiration so decided on a run of Wingaap caches, they never fail to amaze and inspire me. Parked up and read through the previous logs and decided to take the longer but easier way in. Soon spotted the cache and new straight away who it was made by. A great start to the day. TFTC Fav point from me.
Enjoyed my visit to this area - lots of great wingaap caches. This was an interesting hide. SL TFTC
Today, I decided to challenge myself with a 5 hour hike and scramble all over the hills and tracks around Mt Nebo Rd and the Reservoir.
I noticed on the Brisbane facebook group that yesterday was the anniversary of Dak's passing. Dak is still fondly remembered by the locals. So it was fitting that I started my scramble in these parts at Daks cache.
After climbing the first steep hill of many for the day, I got a bit of surprise when I saw the container in the soft dawn light. What a tribute!
That is an awful lot of eclispe tins, Wingaap. Your breath must have been just minty during the manufacture. A favourite point from me. I have been saving them up for today. If other hides in the area are Like this, I won't have enough! TFTC Wingaap.

After very safely making my way up the slope, following in the footsteps of Captain Terror, without even the smallest of trip or loss of footing. I realised that Net88 and Brightskies were MIA. What were they doing [?] Unfortunately, I missed their ever so intimate embrace of body meeting body while falling down a hill. Thank the faeries for caching logs and being able to relive others pain and giggles through their great story telling abilities.
Once the girls had collected themselves and untangled their bodys from the tree, they soon found an easier way up the slope and decided to join us in finding the cache. And what a cache!!!! I love the use of materials! What would normally be a run of the mill cache container was transformed into a peice of art. Wingaap is definately one of my favourite cache hiders.

This was the third cache of the day whilst out caching in Wingaap Territory. I was accompanied by Nyssa Flutterby, Brightskies and Captain Terror. We got out of the car and looked towards GZ. hmmm how hard could it be. Up runs Captain Terror with the grace of a ballerina... hmmmm my legs are shorter i'll go that way instead. About two metres up the cliff face and Brightskies is right behind me..."Don't fall" she says jinksingly. About a second later i lose my footing and slide down the hill collecting her on my way and dragged us both into a tree which we became immediately tangled with. After lying there laughing for a while we collected ourselves and brightskies separated herself from me and the tree. Then i had to slide down further as the tree had captured me quite effectively. We attempted to run up the same way as Captain Terror but got about a metre and fell back onto the road. This was getting quite ridiculous. We eventually found an easier path and i warned Brightskies to stay a few metres back and i climbed to the top. She followed with little hassle. When we got up there the Captain and Nyssa Flutterby were waiting so off we went. After a bit of bush bashing we finally made our way to the cache which i first thought was quite more natural than it really is. Thanks for the cache Wingaap.
Out with Net88, Nyssaflutterby and Captain Terror today for fun filled awesomeness. We parked nearby and headed over to the ridge. Captain Terror, gazelle extraordinaire, took a running start and went straight up the ridge. Net88 decided that she would head a different, more conservative route up the ridge, and my common sense told me that I wouldn't gallop and leap like a gazelle either. I followed Net88 closely, following her footing, and realised that if she were to fall down, I was going to be collected on the way down, so kindly I thought I would warn her not to fall, as I am right behind her. Of course, i completely jinxed her, and within a few seconds she was on unstable ground, and started falling down the slope into my legs, and together we slid vigourously down the slope and landed in a tree. After lots of hysterical giggling, we tried to extricate ourselves, however moving only brought Net88 in closer intimacy with the tree. Soon I helped her out and we found a slightly easier, not so direct path up the ridge, past a menacing prickly pear that threatened to make a second fall down the ridge even more interesting. We made it to the top fortunately, and went about our first bush bash for the day until we reached GZ. I really loved this cache, how clever, Net88 thought it was one with the landscape until closer inspection. Log signed and returned, all good here. Off to our next adventures. TFTC Wingaap. ^^
Guided by previous logs we looked for and found a relatively easy approach. Didn't have too much trouble finding this one.
If there's an easy way or a hard way then I can guarantee I'll pick the hard way. Scrambled up through the bush, reached the top of the hill and found...a road. Aaagh!
Oh well, back down the hill again and this time I spied a very unusual hide.
TFTC.

This was the 3rd of an absolutely awesome day. Wingaap you are a genius. Great and clever caches, weather perfect and a change to travel a road never travelled before by us. Plus great bush walks and the most intriguing caches. We had a fabulous day thanks to an innovative cacher.
Another magic cache. Who would have thought to use such a humble item so innovatively to create an Aussie Icon.

Came down the hill and was wondering what would give the game away... then, look what I've found . Is it real?!?! It can't be! Grab and lift, and look at this! Such a clever idea, wingaap! And everything is so dry! TFTC. Again
After swimming lessons with The Chumpywallers, The Chief and I took a drive to see the famous dak. It well and truly lived up to expectation based on prior logs! Chumpywaller 3 even got a portrait with said famous dak tribute. Like some others we took the easy route down.
TFTC wingaap - loved it!

We were on our way home by this stage of the day .. our legs were tired, the kids were tired, and it was getting late … again . There is never enough hours in the day when we venture down this way. By the time we get kids organised in the morning … and then we need to be back home to Landsborough by 5.30 latest, before chaos sets in [B)]
We' driven past this one a few times now, and today we noticed a sneaky road heading up to where must be a safe parking spot . Sure enough, i found myself walking down to this one, not up (from the road)
Upon reaching GZ, i was greeted with another fantastically engineered wingaap creation … and a fine dedication as well . Turning it over, i was expecting a mint tin .. but no, a tin of a much larger scale was revealed
Another top effort Mr wingaap, and our last for the day … you really are hard on one's favourite points though , we'll have to wait until we have some more, before we come down again and grab any more of your masterpieces … either that, or 'rob from peter ..' . TNLN, Thanks again wingy [^]

Out and about on a hot summer's day. Love your work. Brilliant. TNLN TFTC Thanks wingaap
We travelled past hundreds of caches to do this and two other wingaap caches. We were not caching when dak was, but loved the tribute cache. We love a little walk, we love bush settings and hills areas and this cache did not disappoint. The hide was somewhat special. Bravo to dak and wingaap. Great cache.
Relogging this under individual account, previously a member of Gaz'n'Kab account.
We parked at the nearby gate as directed by the Captain whom had found this one before, and after a quick dash across the road we began the scramble up.
We made it to the top to be met by a very impressive cache and quickly located the eclipse tin We signed our names to the log. Admired the cache some more then began the scramble back down to the road.

Wow. OK, I'm impressed! Parked at the gate over the road and clambered up. Looked around for a moment before noticing something...a little unusual!
Took a few shots with some of my current TBs and decided to drop off a little birdie I picked up in Thailand to keep our friend company. An awesome creation. Thanks WingaaP!

After some debate about where to park, we headed back up the road. Now where do we start the scramble? Mrs. Herbz found a likely route and up we went following the arrow through the bush. Dak was waiting patiently for us and what a wonderful creature he is! Fantastic work Wingaap, TFTC.
Followed the cacher trail up the hill and soon found this amazing animal under a bush. Great work – one of you best, wingaap.

This is find 1 or 20 for the day. A day of cycling fun/ torture/ stupidity? LOL
After cycling up from Ferny Grove through Keperra and then the Gap, I got to this cache and forgot a pen. and no pen in the cache. So of to Bob H and hoped for a spare pen there. There was and I came back and signed the log.
What a start for the day.

Even though I didn't get the emu joke was a top cache here. Nice little climb up the hill from the road and clamber back down. Another cache of maximum effort and thought up this road. TFTC.
Our first find in the area. Not sure about the terrain rating but could be we made this more difficult than needed! At least we avoided cactus.
We took 3 teens along for the day and they bailed on us half way to this one and tnen stayed in the car until the last one of the day. When they can cache on the PS3 they'll be happier lol. Mr and mrs nicoline appreciated it though. Thanks wingaap

I was up the hill with Fangsoki and some mates other caches doing some walks and finding some caches.
Fangsoki suggested we check out this one on the way down the hill.
Nice one Mr Wingaap. Another excellent cache. Thanks for the cache.
I had been carrying around a golf ball all day for "Where did I leave my Golf Cart?" but the road was closed about 3km before the start of the cache. I decided to drop of the golf ball here.
There were a couple of trackable items in the cache. I grabbed the fancy coin and left the more girly wedding cake figurines.
While signing the log one of those pesky cache dwelling frogs hopped on in.
