Almost at the end of my 6 weeks travel through New Zealand, I got that one on the very top of the country. Thanks!Fund Nr. 1394
Easy find once the right tree was located. We exchanged the broken container, the pill bottle for the log still inside.TFTC!
After reading some logs, we realized that we too were at the wrong one.Lovely to get the excuse to visit the beach.
Forgot to log from a trip up to the Cape awhile ago! A beautiful spot with afew good memories camping here. Beware the mozzies!!! No one around when we were there to get this cache. Perfect sunny day. TFTC
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I now live full-time in our caravan & travel the country visiting places we want to visit & doing the things that we want to do we were visiting the Far North for a few days & we decided that we needed to explore the Cape Reinga area decided to drive into the DoC Campsite at Tapotupotu Beach, just to see if it would be suitable for us to drag our caravan into for a couple of days, but weve decided that its probably not for us but while here, we decided we should probably grab the caches down here pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally TFTC ... TN:LN:SL #5,009 for us!
A brilliant beach!Couldn't wait to take my shoes off and walk in the gorgeous white sand .Walked over here, and Jag50 found it after Net61 and I were at the wrong tree!Added a pill bottle into the container as the jar had a broken lid. Also had lunch here...Thanks Conton.....Wow this is a really old cache... nice to see it continuing.
After visiting the lighthouse we came down here for a picnic lunch. Such a beautiful spot. After locating the log we decided to place the log in a new pill bottle (To keep it dry.) And returned it to its original container.Thanks.
Great place. For a moment I was Robinson Crusoe. Good hide, thanks for bringing me here. Tftc
Currently on a Northland road trip filled with cycling, bush walking, geocaching and the odd bit of swimming We detoured here to pick up this cache and ended up having a quick swim. Thanks for showing us this beautiful bay, TFTC
What a beautiful spot for a cache! The lid is broken, so we recommend to cover it thoroughly. TFTC
What a beautiful spot. Love this place. Wish we had more time here. Lid broken and unfortunately no spare container with us. Tftc
Am Strand eine Runde gedreht und diesen Cache dabei mit besucht. Danke fr den Cache.
Geocache container is broken in this gorgeous place and contents seem to be missing. TFTC
Not accessible today. Muggles parked themselves right near it and aren't moving anytime soon.

We were camping by this beautiful beach for a couple of nights. On our first evening we went for a stroll, mainly to spy out the walking route to Cape Reinga but also to find this cache. At the GZ the hint could refer to one of two trees, but it didn’t take long to find it. Tftc!
What a great place to camp. We stated here two nights and walked to and from Cape Reinga. It was good to find a cache here too! TFTC.
On my way back from Cape Reinge I did some caching.
Thanks.

Following the hint, we immediately spotted GZ and started looking. Only after looking around a bit did we realise we were barking up the wrong tree (only slightly metaphorically) and quickly spotted the container when we got to the actual GZ. Container lid still broken but logbook is ok for now. Thanks!
Our tour bus stopped here for lunch.
It is a great spot, but we did not have it to ourselves.
No matter, I was able to slip away for this cache with no eyes on me, which is a little bit exposed, but still doing ok.
TFTC Conton, sorry for the late log.
Day 6 of our Northland tour, and today we have booked a guided tour to Cape Reinga, with a drive down 90 mile beach and some sand dune tobogganing thrown in.
We were going to do this as a day trip from Kaitaia, but decided on a bus trip instead from Paihia.
It has advantages, but disadvantages too.
We get the company of others, local knowledge, and door to door pickup, as well as doing two tasks we wouldn’t be doing if winging on our own. It does mean, however, a lot of caches we just drive past. Oh well, if we can average 10 a day that is a good day, I think.
Just two traditionals for the day, and a virtual. The other 3 are Earthcaches I will need to log later as our current wi-fi crashes easily.
Very windy today, and cold too. This means we have been to both the top of the North and bottom of the South within a year. Love getting around the place. Thanks all COs.

We stopped here for lunch on the way to Cape Reinga, so I took the opportunity to go hunting with Jedi Girl. We didn't sign the log as the cache needs maintenance, but here are are with the find. TFTC
I found it with Mummy (aka Mrs JY ). It was a pretty easy find. We didn't sign as the cache needs maintenance, but Mummy attached a photo of us with the cache. TFTC
Found a while ago and forgot to send saved log. A beautiful spot and good hide, thanks.Broken cache so may need some maintenance.
Desperately needs a new container! If someone brought down a tupperware or something it would help tons. Beautiful spot
My friend was heading up this way on a maintenance run having just taken over the nalawood caches. I enthusiasticly joined in as I have been meaning to come back up this way for ages. My last visit was in 2018 and there have been quite a lot of caches placed since then.
This was a nemesis cache for my buddy but as we walked up to the trees we could spot it. With a broken lid it was lucky the log was dry. We re-hid it better than we found it. It certainly was a lovely beach. Thanks for the cache

This has been on my nemesis list for some time and has always eluded me. Today it was easy and out in the open, go figure. As mentioned in previous log, the lid is broken. Log was dry today though. Tried to rehide well. TFTC
My wife really liked the beach and promptly headed off in the opposite direction. This gave me time to find the cx. I looked in one place, but found it in the second place I looked. The lid of the container is broken so water must be pouring in which made the log paper difficult to sign. TFTC.
In our campervan on a northland adventure with the whānau. Stayed a night at this sensational campsite. Couldn’t resist a morning swim on the Tuesday but on Monday we strolled the beach and Mini McArgister and I hunted for this cache. I did a bit of clambering and soon spotted the no-longer camoed container, but all was still fine inside, so I signed us in an rehid with some rocky natural coverage. Thanks for the doc-tastic cache!
Last one of several caches we located today between Pukenui and the “very top” of NZ. After visiting Cape Reinga we headed to this campsite for an overnight stay. Once we’d found the other cache in the area we took off in the opposite direction for this one. Very pleasant walking along the beach at low tide. Took a brief moment to figure out the likely hiding place of the cache. Certainly is a splendid tree! #4673. TFTC.
Gracious old tree if only it could talk and tell us it's childhood stories of what it was like back in the day.
Debatable whether this is a 1.5 terrain! Sent Phil up for the search and he soon had the decent sized cache in hand. SL TNLN TFTC Great surf beach too!
Found today while staying at the campsite in our house bus. Cache was a bit higher than we were originally searching but soon had it in hand. Tftc!
A beautiful winter day at taputaputa. Wonderful trees for climbing on. The cache required quite a bit of a reach.
A quick side trip to nab this one

It took us a while to find, searching high and low while avoiding the wasps congregating around the lower tree in particular, but we got there in the end. A beautiful beach - thanks for bringing us here.
Despite last log, the original cache is still there in its original container.
Co ords were good.
Just need to consider both specimens matching GZ! Good to return here after many years gap! Thanks

We spent a long time visiting Cape Reinga then made our way to the beach here to have our picnic and paddle in the Pacific. We also spent some time looking for this cache, fortunately successfully. Discovered that if you're in the "right" place then the hint makes more sense.
TFTC and greetings from the top of the south .

I found a log to sign but not sure if it’s the actual one. Says replacement log and only one signature but not the recent “found it”s. Oh well I’m sure I’m in the right area. TFTC.
We are on our summer holiday, we usually take a few weeks and travel around the South Island, but this year we are heading around the North Island. Heading up the West coast and back down the East coast. Finding only a select few caches along the way, we are mostly targeting some challenges we have qualified for, some large size caches, some that fill gaps in our date placed grid, a few D/T combinations, some with lots of favourite points, letterboxes and anything else that grabs our fancy.
I had a fall on day two of our holiday, while out geocaching which has resulted in a fractured bone in my leg and I am in a moon boot and with crutches and I was told to keep weight off my leg. So I am only limited use when it comes to our trip now. I tend to stay in the campervan and just hand out suggestions of when and where GK should search.
We were up bright and early this morning to head to Kaitaia to get on the Ninety Mile Beach bus trip. As part of the bus tour we stopped here for lunch and a swim (and a geocache for us). What a beautiful bay, the road in could do with a grade or some tarseal but well worth the judders to come and see such a pretty spot. I sat in the shade of some magnificent trees while gk got to run around the beach to find the cache. He had time for a quick swim before it was time to be back on the bus.
Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley.

I think the terrain rating for this one is either wrong at 1.5m or it was moved, which could be throwing people off with a DNF. Initially thought one spot but decided to give another one a go and soon had it in hand! Left only footprints.....oh and this message on beautiful Tapotupotu beach . TFTC <3
Couldn't find this one
Day 3 of our trip. Group of Team Seac came up for the weekend. Really enjoyed our day out seeing our beautiful country.
Sorry for the generic logs, but thank you for taking time to put the cache out, and for bringing us here. All logs signed as “SEAC”.

With the mega being postponed a plan was hatched for some of the Team SEAC crew to head north for some fun. Today was day 3 and was a BIG day for a lot of reasons...we set off at 7.30am and got back to our accommodation at 9.00pm but more importantly NZTravellers were going to celebrate their 6000th cache, I was going to hit my 3500th cache and it was 6 years to the day since most of us first met on a caching day out to Rangitoto Island!
Unfortunately there was no luck for us here today - we did a thorough search!

Out with Team SEAC on a long weekend raid of the upper north island. This was day 3 caching in which we cached around the very top of the North Island. We searched for quite a while but had no luck.
We searched high lo left and right and with 6 pairs of eyes searching we had no luck.
Maybe needs a check to ensure that it is still there.

Day three of our caching adventure to the far north.....with a group from Auckland, venturing up as the Mega Event was postponed due to Covid - 19 and we just had to get caching.
Unable to locate this with six of us searching.
Thanks for bringing us here to somewhere we might otherwise not have visited.

Found with Flowerdaze on our trip north. FD had a bit of a scramble but got there in the end. Tftc
A quick find thanks to the helpful hint and good co-ords. Lovely beach, thanks for placing a cache here.
Stopped here for lunch on the bus tour to the Cape and you beauty! yes there is a cache here! Soon found, signed and replaced.TFTC
Enjoying a wonderful adventure in the Far North from Kerikeri to Cape Reinga. So long since I have been all the way to the top of NZ so happy it was blue skies all the way. Thankfully Mr PA5KEY was in a good mood so got a few caches in on the way back. Love exploring different places and find geocaching adds to the experience. TFTC.
Found an empty container on 19 maart 2020 17:32 in plain site in the flax added paper and places it in a more hidden location to either restart the log or a decoy.
Trouvée facilement ! On peut aussi l’attraper par la gauche ! Belle cache et belle plage ! Un PF !
Found on my way back down from Cape Reinga, on a RT hike. Log in good shape and well hidden from beachgoers; signed and re-hid. TFTC!
I am using the excuse of friends of mine getting married in Northland this weekend to finally get to do what I have wanted to do for over 30 years now, visit 90 Mile Beach and Cape Reinga.
And of course whilst doing that I'm also making the most of a rare opportunity to grab a whole bunch of caches that either help me with my Jasmer grid, my Hidden Dates grid, or else are part of the TMGT, or lastly because they are an Earthcache or a Virtual which I like doing.
Cape Reinga roadtrip day 5 - the drive back from Cape Reinga to Auckland.
It was going to be a very busy day, trying to get as much caching done as I made the long winding way from Cape Reinga back to the hustle and bustle of Auckland to catch my breath before tomorrows final push back home to the lower North Island to finish what would end up being a 2300km round trip.
Overnight I had stayed at the nearby Tapotupotu DOC campsite, and to make the most of my visit I got up before dawn in order to watch the sunrise at Cape Reinga. On my way back past this point I stopped to have a look for this cache with the benefit of some daylight.
There was no other traffic around as I parked near GZ and I was able to conduct my search in peace. It took me a few minutes of rummaging around before I spotted the container, but all was fine with it and its contents so I took care of the usual logbook administration and then replaced it all exactly as found before returning to the car to crack on with the rest of my day.
Thanks for the cache.

We wanted to go to Cape Reinga but dadly the final part of road was closed because of a fire. So we get to this beach.
After some search I could find the well hided box.

Geocache hard to find where located. No ziplock bag or log only a piece of paper left by recent finder. We left treats to swap for next person.
Only found an empty container. Added some paper and nothing else. Otherwise a really beautiful place to visit.
We did not have searched and are stunned by chance. So if you look for the right place you will find it easy.
I’d give a favourite point if I had one.
Thank you for cache at a beautiful beach even on a windy day. Took the Harrison’s Cape Runner tour and stop bay for lunch

Thanks Conton for the cache. It’s #1104 for us. I found your cache on 30 September 2019. Well I overthought that one! Went far too far up the hillside following my gps!! Plus the clue couldn’t be more wrong left<=>right!!
Oops
Lovely beach - dropped by after letting our intrepid walkers off at the Cape freeing me up for a whole days caching.
